Hiyori Hotel Osaka Namba Station

Incredibly tiny room even after an “upgrade”, not enough space to open a single suitcase without blocking two beds or the bathroom. Minuscule even in comparison to our other Japanese hotels. Speaking of - why are the toilet, sink, and bath all separate? it makes it incredibly odd to navigate. The bathroom’s controls are all in Japanese - so pretty annoying if you don’t speak it - and break frequently. The AC is always broken: it never works! We couldn’t sleep half the night because of the sweltering heat. Constant unending noise during the night, because Osaka’s busy, but the room’s walls provide no respite from the bustle outside even on the ninth floor. I will say that the location isn’t too bad - close to Namba station and a couple of malls as well as the crowded and smelly Dotonbori, but it’s so horrifically noisy that even that put us off. The service is perfectly average.

This hotel is in a good location to Namba station and only 5-10 minutes walk to Dotonbori. The rooms are small but that's what I expected. Great shower and bed & pillows were comfy. The breakfast was average, not alot of western options that filled you up, mostly dessert/sweet style food. In fact I haven't rated the breakfast at any of our hotels in Japan

This hotel is a 7 min walk from Namba station and 6 min to main Namba/Ota road area. Location was excellent and easy to get to all shopping areas in Osaka. The room is your typical japanese size but what makes up for it was the thoughtfulness put into the amenities. We were happy there was a shoe dryer after getting soaked at USJ and also disposable slippers made keeping the room clean easier. Laundry on site is easy to use and larger capacity than our Tokyo hotel. They also have a wonderful happy hour which includes free drinks every day, shaved ice and takoyaki. Overall, very happy with location and services provided.

Hiyori Hotel Osaka Namba Station was a very comfortable and convenient base for exploring Osaka and doing day trips around Kansai. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Namba Station and close to shopping, food streets, convenience stores, and easy airport connections, which made moving around with luggage much easier. The room was compact, but the layout was thoughtfully designed with a practical desk area, clean facilities, and a separate bath/shower space that felt more comfortable than expected for a city hotel. After long days walking around Osaka, having a proper bathtub was a real bonus. Breakfast was also a pleasant highlight, with a nice Japanese-style spread including soft-boiled eggs, pickles, rice toppings, salad, and small hot dishes presented neatly. The lobby and entrance felt modern and welcoming, and the staff were polite, efficient, and helpful throughout the stay. I also appreciated the small conveniences like laundry facilities and little amenities that make travel smoother. Overall, this is a smart choice if you want a clean, well-equipped hotel in one of the best locations in Osaka. 😊
