Great tour. My wife loves to interact with animals, especially to feed them. The bus driver/guide was very friendly, helpful, and answered my questions related to local culture very willingly. He is proud of Aruba, as has been the case with other locals that I have met.

The Aruba Ostrich Farm welcomes you to one of the largest living species in the world. Visitors are encouraged to partake in a guided tour of the farm, inhabited by both ostriches and their flightless Australian relatives, emus. The tour provides the opportunity to learn about the natural behavior and survival instincts of these amazing creatures through detailed information as well as personal encounters with the birds.
Get the opportunity to mingle with some real locals at the Donkey Sanctuary. Founded in 1997 as a non-profit and completely volunteer run organization, their mission is simple. Save the Donkeys! Although not originally native to the small island of Aruba, they have existed here for 500 years having been the primary mode of transportation until cars began to be introduced on the island in increasing numbers. At that point, many Arubans no longer had the need for their formerly beloved donkey, and sadly in the 1970’s, a dangerous and rapidly spreading illness nearly caused their extinction leaving behind a population of only 20 wild donkeys.
Visit Philip’s Animal Garden. After years of saving and adopting abused and abandoned animals, Philip Merryweather has turned his love for exotic animals into a world-class shelter and rehabilitation center. Philip’s Animal Garden is offering up interactive and educational tours, where you can enjoy an up close and personal experience with over 50 species of exotic animals from around the world. Visitors are invited to see, touch and even feed some of the garden’s exotic inhabitants.

Danny was very informative all day long during the tour and stops. Very knowledgeable and helpful man
The guide,/ driver was fantastic, very friendly, knowledgeable and always offering ice cold water. The stops allowed a good amount of time to explore the donkey sanctuary, ostrich farm and Phillips Animal Garden. I loved the tour. The only thing that was disappointing was that when booking the tour it showed an air-conditions motor coach bus. The bus that picked me up was an old Bluebird school bus painted white with windows and door open the whole way.
This is a great trip for animal lovers. They take you to 3 dif places. Bus driver was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered free cold water until he dropped us back at our hotel. Only $140 for a couple. Highly recommend!
The activities themselves were a little depressing, the animals seemed sad, ostriches had no shade. Guide was great, bus was great.
We really loved this tour. I've heard so much about the Donkey Sanctuary i wanted to visit there. Not only did we go there but the tour also took us to the Ostrich Farm which was really great. I learned alot about this animal that I did not know. The tour also took us to Phil's Animal Farm which was nice to visit also. Great tour if you love animals. Our guide was great too!!
Our guide was very friendly and shared info about the island between stops.
This is an amazing tour, especially if you have children and you love animals ❤️
We can't tell you enough about our tour guide Danny! Informative, thoughtful, funny, warm-spirited and just a great person! You can always tell when someone loves their profession! I would recommend him getting a raise! He just knows how to keep you engaged and we felt safe with him. Our group was small, which gave us more of opportunity to have more personal conversation. We had a nice wet fiesta when the rain fell briefly as there are no windows in the bus! But it didn't last long and we were all laughing! BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! AND IF YOU CAN, ASK FOR DANNY! HE IS AMAZING!
We had a excellent time....I would recommend this trip. Lots of animals to see & feed. Pick up directly at our hotel.
I loved this tour. Never saw so many ass in one place. Lol. But all the stops were great. Aruba is beautiful. The tour drained me and i loved every min of it. The driver was 100% pleasant and funny. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
We had a great time on the tour. Perfect for animal lovers! We had just enough time at each stop to see everything and enjoy the animals. The donkey sanctuary and animal garden you can explore at your leisure but the ostrich farm is guided. Plenty of opportunities for photos and feeding the animals at all three stops. Food is even included at the animal garden! The bus is an old school bus without windows and a bit of a bumpy ride but well worth it. Danny was our tour guide, and he was excellent! Pointed out various places we passed from one stop to the next and gave history of the island as well. Answered all our questions and was very friendly! Highly recommend for a fun half day tour!
We had a great day visiting the animal sanctuaries. It was fun getting to feed all the animals, especially the ostriches! Pick up/Drop off from our hotel was great!
Such a fun way to spend a morning/early afternoon! We loved the donkeys and the ostrich farm was pretty cool, though our favorite part was our guide Danny! So knowledgeable about the island, great driving, and super attentive. Our least favorite spot was Philip’s Animal Garden because there were only rare signs indicating the species and also would have loved to know which animals are rescues vs being purchased for a petting zoo. That being said, we really enjoyed feeding the goats and other animals there (good variety).
This tour was awesome! From the Donkey Sanctuary, to the Ostrich Farm, and the Animal Garden. It was a great day to get to see Aruba and our tour guide Danny was great. Definitely recommend!
I guess I could have done without the donkey sanctuary. It does support the operation but if you've seen one ass you've seen 'em all. The ostrich farm provided a tour which gave a lot of interesting information. The Phillip's Animal Garden had a wide variety of tropical animals. Although not included in this tour, I can recommend The Butterfly Farm near Eagle beach.
It was a marvelous experience. The staff was knowledgeable and anxious to share with visitors. Have been to Aruba many times and somehow missed this stop. Each place was fascinating.
Great trip with the Grandchildren. They enjoyed feeding the animals and the animals were very friendly.
Great tour of three animal places! Danny, our driver, was fantastic. Gave us some interesting facts about the island as we drove from place to place. You can feed animals at all of the places. Get the shaved ice at the ostrich farm! Plan for 5 hours.
Our EL TOURS bus driver was friendly, knowledgeable and caring. We enjoyed the halfday tour of 3 Animal sanctuaries (Donkey, ostrich and Phillips had multiple animals). He picked us up on SATURDAY FEB 7th around 9:15 and we were back before 2pm and it included all admissions, there were no extra costs and we had enough time at each stop TIP: Bring a bag of sliced apples and carrot sticks and wear a hat and sunscreen. The OSTRICH and emu farm facility and tour lady (brown hair and former Dutch military) was the BEST! They had a surprisingly elegant, shade-covered large pavilion-RESTAURANT (open 11am-2:30 pm approx w chalkboard menu). It could be a great Venue for a birthday party or other celebration ). You can order a ostrich egg meal that feeds 6 people or a single sandwich, frozen treats use restroom, gift shop and also see parrots, ducks, peacocks, turkeys...... At Phillips they had a wide variety of animals and the large tortoise, kangaroos, miniature and baby goats and monkeys were fun to see. The scenery on the way to each place was also enjoyable. You can also arrange a UTV tour from their office at Phillips.
We did the animal sanctuary guided tour during our cruise stop a couple of days ago. Our guide Danny was wonderful! He would point out highlights and offer history and information when appropriate. He knew lots about each stop and fully informed us about what to expect at each place. Bonus points for always having cold water available. We didn't like the Phillips Animal Garden as much. It felt a little too much like a zoo but they did have lots of animals. The donkey sanctuary was our favorite. The ostrich farm was very interesting with good guides. This is a great tour for animal lovers.
A great tour if you love animals! You get to feed them at every location. Our tour guide Danny was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great outing to see and feed the animals. Danny was our tour guide; he was fabulous! Our favorite part was the donkey sanctuary.
I went on the 9am tour on 1/24 and I had the absolute best tour guide. In between locations he’d stop and give us little fun/ historical facts which was a lovely little surprise. All three locations were fun but I LOVED the animal sanctuary, especially the goats. This is a great tour, I totally recommend it
This is a lovely tour if you love animals. Our tour was adults, but kids would love it also. Besides visiting and feeding donkeys, ostriches, goats, ponies, elk , and visiting monkeys, snakes, camel and birds, you also get to see some Aruba sites and neighborhoods from the open air school bus. Our guide Danny was excellent and provided a very relaxing tour.
Low crime, English speaking, beautiful beaches, lots of restaurants. It is our new favorite sun destination (no more Mexico). It is a small island so easy to do many activities during your 7 day stay. A good idea is to rent a car so you can visit all the beaches. US dollars is a very common currency. Will be back next year!
I booked this excursion for my wife and daughter who both love animals. We are a party of 4 with my oldest son being wheelchair bound. He has his own stroller wheelchair (Convaid) which the guide would pick up and place in the back of the school bus. This tour uses an old school bus to take you to each attraction. Luckily my son weighs only 45 lbs and I was able to carry him up the curving stairs inside the bus. I only give this info as it’s hard to find a tour for the disabled. Now the excursion was awesome. Each attraction better than the last. We started with the donkey sanctuary. The donkeys will surround you trying to get some food but they are so gentle. Just try to spread the food out to as many donkeys as you can. The next stop was a guided tour of the ostrich sanctuary. This very informative and fun. The guide was interesting and animated. Plenty of time to feed the ostriches and emus. There is a picture taking opportunity feeding two ostriches. The last stop was Phillips animal park. Here they had a wide variety of animals to feed and touch. Remember to try and spread out the food to as many animals as possible. We almost ran out food feeding the cute goats and rams in the first few pens. All the animals are very gentle when taking the food from your palm. If you like animals and want a nice family experience that is not rushed and at your own pace. This is a great excursion to go on. Not really handicap accessible unless able to climb the five steps inside the school bus.
Driver/tour guide was very informative, but didn't keep talking. Appreciated the ability to enjoy the natural scenery of the island without a lot of talking.
Our tour guide Danny was very informative and nice. Provided plenty of time at each stop and endless cold water. Would definitely recommend. We did the tour with our 5 and 2 year olds.
Guide was super chill. The Bus with no Windows is a fun ride. Donkey and Ostrich Sanctuarys are worth a visit. Philipps Animal garden is cool, the time spent there could be shortened though.
They pick us up at our hotel and drop us off. It’s is an open window smaller size bus. We went to the Donkey Sanctuary. This is a self tour. Then to the Ostrich Farm. This was a guided tour. Last stop was Phillips Animal and this was a self tour. It was a good day. They do supply water at each stop if needed.
This tour was alot of fun. Our guide was very nice and gave us lots of information about the island and its history. The Ostrich farm was beautiful and it was fun feeding them !! My only complaint would be that an air conditioned vehicle was advertised and we were picked up in a school bus with no windows. Otherwise I recommend this tour!
The facilities we visited were enjoyable and educational. The tour bus and driver was exceptional and made the experience even better.
We had a fantastic time visiting and feeding so many different animals. The tour was well organized and our driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for people of all ages.
I did not expect the amount of animals to see at the Philips animal sanctuary. Burping monkey. Cute goats. A million peacocks. Turtles, horses, etc. Danny the tour guide was the man.
First impressions are lasting impressions, so right when I met Danny the bus driver, I knew it was going to be a great day! He had that charming Aruban hospitality throughout the tour. I loved the stops to the donkey sanctuary and the ostrich farm. The guided tour at the Ostruch farm was so informative and allowed for hands on experiences with the animals. If you love animals, this trip is a must.
The three stops were very fun to see and do. I would say taking the tour bus didn't add anything that we wouldn't have seen or done just going by car on our own time. The driver was very nice though.
The Aruba Animal Sanctuary Tour was awesome. The pickup bus was right on time and Danny, our driver and guide, was very informative and friendly. In about 4 hours we saw and interacted with a lot of very cool animals at 3 different sanctuaries. A bonus was a bus ride that allowed us to see much of the island along the way. I would highly recommend this activity!
You will see so many animals up close. Don’t forget to bring your own carrots/apples for the donkey sanctuary. They love them!! You may want to bring two bags of carrots and break them as you go bc there are so many donkeys.
Great tour but be prepared it’s very hot! A lot of riding to & from each stop. Tour guide was great (Dan)!
We had a great time and the guide/driver, Danny, was very nice and informative. All of the sites visited offered opportunities to feed and interact with the animals. We especially liked the two monkeys at the last stop that wanted back scratches.
Super cheap to see all the animals at this sanctuary. You can see ostrich, monkeys, donkey, goats, and more at this sanctuary. They gave us some food at the front so we can feed any animals that were not birds. The monkeys were the best part of this experience because they interacted with your hands. BECAREFUL of the Ostrich. They are cool to look at from a distance, but they will try to take your food out of your cup. They got really close to my boyfriend face to get the cup while he was trying to feed to goats.
This tour was fabulous. We started at the donkey sanctuary where we were able to purchase kibble to feed the donkeys. The ostrich farm was fabulous, made even better by a very knowledgeable young woman who was our guide. We ended at the Phillips Animal Garden where we were given carrots and kibble to feed the goats and other animals. My only complaint is that we stayed here for an hour when 1/2 an hour would have been better. Our guide and driver, Danny, was terrific. An overall great experience!
Exceptional experience for animal lovers! Truly enjoyed the information provided by the guide and perfect length of time for tour
Second time we have done this trip . Again we were not disappointed. If you are an animal lover you we really enjoy it , seeing and getting close to the donkeys and ostriches and feeding them was amazing. A much larger selection of animals you could see at Phillips Animal Rescue and again feeding the goats was very special. Excellent value for money and Dan our tour guide ( same guy as last year) was very accommodating and informative. Highly recommended.
This was such a fun excursion! All three stops were amazing and you get to feed the animals and see so many up close that you'd probably never see.
I thought this tour was fantastic. Yes, as mentioned by several other travelers, the bus is an open air school bus, but that allowed for a better view of the island as we travelled from one place to another. Given that it is an outdoor animal experience, I expected to be somewhat dirty and tired from the day, so that was not a problem. The bus was late for pickup, but I was on vacation and wasn't going to let that ruin my day. Things happen. I thought the driver was engaging and informative enough and enjoyed being dropped off to wander the sites. I prefer a less guided experience, so that worked for me, but the guided tour of the Ostrich Farm was also really cool. The guide there was funny and entertaining and definitely knew her birds. It was also really enjoyable to be able to pet many of the animals and feeding the donkeys and goats was great. The highlight of my day was the monkeys at Phillips Animal Sanctuary. All in all I felt like for $57 the tour was more than reasonable and was never expecting a luxury experience. I paid for fun and it definitely was.
While we loved seeing the donkeys and ostriches, the tour was disappointing overall. We waited over 30 minutes at our hotel to be picked up at our hotel and were not expecting that our transportation would be an open air school bus. We then sat on that bus about another hour while others were picked up throughout Aruba. The donkey preserve and general animal preserve provided no guide, and the latter seemed disorganized, very dirty and depressing. What was advertised as a half-day tour actually lasted almost 6 hours from pickup to dropoff.
The three animal venues were worth the visit. Our guide was pleasant but provided minimum information outside of delivering us to the three sites. As we anticipated lengthy legs between venues, part of the decision to take this tour was that it advertised air conditioned vehicles. Lengthy time on the road was the case, but our vehicle was an old school bus, painted white, with no windows. We were offered a lame excuse about being very busy but 'take it or leave it'. Noisy, loud, rough riding and windy - hardly the trip we expected. The Ostrich Farm offered an interesting guided tour, but the donkey shelter and animal rescue site were just drop off and 'be back at the bus in an hour.' It was nice to be among the animals and clearly caring staff. The long return involved stops at many hotels before we got back to our ship dusty, windblown and exhausted.
Used this tour group for airport transfers (smoothly done) and also for a Fauna tour. Totally happy with both. Airport transfers were on time and friendly; driving good. (Note: remember to read the info you receive after booking on line and follow the steps.) Our driver for the Fauna Tour was actually the same person who ended up taking us to the airport at the end of the week. He let us know where we were headed and for how long. The tour transport was an old school bus with windows removed – the fresh air was good but you definitely need that breeze on Aruba. We felt his driving was totally fine. This was not exceptionally island informative – but then again, it was a Fauna Tour not an Island Tour.
