Itinerary
Where our tour begins and our first ghost story of the evening.
See how far inland Lake Ontario's waters used to reach in the early days of the city.
The St. Lawrence Market is one of the longest-running markets in North America, popular with both locals and tourists. But when stepping through the doors of the Market, it’s difficult to imagine that the area has seen many darker days over the years.
The cathedral, with construction beginning in 1850 and opening for services on June 19, 1853, was one of the largest buildings in the city at that time. It was designed by Frederick William Cumberland and is a prime example of Gothic Revival architecture....is it haunted?
Our final story of the evening features one of Toronto's most well-known haunted buildings.

Alicia was an excellent storyteller. We really enjoyed learning about some of the history and spooks of Toronto
This was amazing! The time absolutely flew by and the stories our guide shared with us were the right level of detail. I feel like I learned so much more about Toronto (or York) along with all of the ghost lore. Recommended this tour to all of my local coworkers!
I found our tour guide to be knowledgeable but I had a very hard time hearing what she was saying. Not hearing the full story took away from the experience. I think that a microphone would have helped especially with the size of the group
Great management and wine sudgestions from Sachith!!
Carolyn was a great guide. I live in Toronto and still enjoyed learning facts and ghostly facts about the city.
Unfortunately, our experience was a little disappointing. The tour was advertised as lasting 90 minutes, but it finished after around 60 minutes, and we heard only eight stories. Our guide was also very softly spoken, which made it difficult to hear everything clearly. To be fair, a significant storm was approaching, and the guide had been asked by her office to finish early. I understand the need to put everyone’s safety first, especially with the weather turning bad. However, I do feel we should have been offered the opportunity to rebook for another time rather than having a shortened tour. The stories we could hear were interesting, and our guide was a young woman who appeared relatively new to the role. She seemed to be concentrating hard on remembering her script, and with the storm approaching, it couldn’t have been an easy situation for her. I wouldn’t necessarily tell people to skip this tour, as there are other guides and plenty of positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations, and we left feeling a little disappointed. With a full-length tour and clearer delivery, it could have been a much better experience.
I was really hoping and wanted to be able to give a good review here. The tour guide was just not fit for the job. She spoke so quietly we could barely hear what she was saying. She was new and clearly trying to remember the script of what she was supposed to say. That definitely did not make it seem spooky. I was frankly glad it ended early because of a thunderstorm.
Guide was very quiet and in need of electronic amplification or just speaking considerably louder. As well she seemed to be checking her script on her phone as we went.
Fun and informative! I visited Toronto many times but I had never heard these stories. Casper was great!
Omg this was a joke.We started late the tour was to last 90 mins and we finished in 60.It was really hard to hear the guide.Ive dine these all around the world and honestly this was the worst.Save your money and time .Don't bother with this tour
Carolyn did a great job showing us all the ghost history in Toronto. She was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the scary history of Toronto. She is an excellent guide and is highly recommended for a memorable experience.
Really interesting way to find out more about Toronto's history. Meredith was a great storyteller and made the tour really interesting.
Long walk but well worth it…Meredith melded ghost stories with history..excellent guide, she even walked us to the train station at the end.
Soo much fun to get a chance to enjoy old fashioned storytelling!! Length was perfect and now listening to podcasts
Great time learning about the ghosts of Toronto. Alicia was a great guide.
This was a great tour of areas of Toronto that you might not have visited. It was very informative and full of creepy facts about Toronto and York.
Evening was perfect. It’s a great way to see some of the Old Town Toronto and listen to some fun ghost stories while enjoying the walk. Our guide was Caroline, and she was simply fantastic. Highly recommend.
Carolyn was a fantastic tour guide. Very well delivered tour, personable, and great stories. Def would take another tour with her
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and eloquent in his delivery. We really enjoyed the tour. The tour started on time and finished as expected.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Original Haunted Walk of Toronto — it was so much fun walking around the city at night and learning about Toronto’s history and ghost stories. Our guide, Alicia, made the whole experience! She was witty, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly loved what she does. She struck the perfect balance between spooky storytelling and real local history, and made sure everyone in the group felt included the whole way through. My favorite stops were the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre and Mackenzie House. The pace was great, the stops were genuinely interesting, and I walked away with a whole new appreciation for the city’s darker past. Highly recommend this tour, and cheer if you get Alicia — she’s a gem!
Carolyn was an awesome guide! Great story teller keep us engaged the whole time and stayed after to answer questions and tell other little tidbits definitely recommend her tour!
Carolyn, our guide on the Haunted Ghost Tour, was absolutely wonderful! She was very interesting and informative, and her dramatic voice really drew us in and had us excited to hear what was going to happen next. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the tour. Thank you, Carolyn, for making it such a memorable evenig 😊
Meredith was a great guide! She was very friendly and eager to tell stories about Toronto’s history with a spooky twist. She kept checking to make sure everyone was comfortable even though there’s nothing very disturbing on the tour. The tour was a good way to explore the old town and learn about some of the city’s different layers of history and its mysteries. I recommend it for history buffs or anyone looking to explore the city in a short time.
Got to see some unique parts of city and hear some neat stories. Dev was really nice and easy to talk to
Guide told some spooky tales, he was very knowledgeable and told them well. Very interesting. I didn't see any ghosts, but not sorry about that.
Inez was a terrific guide. She was personable and knowledgeable!
Amazing experience, great guide. Had an AMAZING time. Will definitely recommend to friends. Learnt alot about my city.
Knowledgeable guide with interesting stories. She told the stories enthusiastically and answered follow up questions. It wasn’t quite dark when we started, but that would have made it a little better. The cloak was a nice touch.
Amy was very patient, kind, and engaged in our tour. The stories and locations were fascinating, and the weather was perfect. While I didn’t think the stories were scary, it was ominous and disturbing, but not horrific or terrifying like other tours I’ve taken around the world. It was a little hard to hear Amy at points as the area was very lively and loud, but it’s in the middle of a city so it’s expected. I tried to be as focused as possible but even in a small group, it was a struggle to hear her. I’d advise the company to be mindful or selective about more “quiet” spots to storytell so that we can take the full advantage of the tour. Overall, I recommend it to anyone who wants an awesome tour of spooky Toronto. P.s Amy’s husband: if you’re reading this, yes she’s got a real job and she’s damn good at it. :)
Elliot was amazing. The tour was so fun and informative. Thank you
Tom was really entertaining, and funny. I loved the interplay between creepy ghost stories and Toronto/Canadian history.
Tom did an excellent job of telling dramatic full-blown stories that were a combination of history and ghostly folk folklore. He offered to take photos often and have two washroom stops. He paused in several parks and by several churches…Tom was very friendly and various and shared stories about Toronto that were interesting and engaging. At the end of Victoria, he also help people find next locations to go to for food, drink, and entertainment. We really enjoyed the tour! Reason for a four instead of a five star is that sometimes Tom, very clear, spoken and strong voice, at times was looking away from the group while speaking and it was hard to hear what he was saying. He also was storytelling as we walked from one place to another, but if you weren’t close to him, you couldn’t hear what he was saying. Also, when we were by the post office, he was telling stories about courtyard of the courthouse and we had just passed that area… It might’ve been better to tell those hanging stories at the courtyard.
Our guide, Kummi, was wonderful. The tour isn’t just for those who believe in the afterlife, as there is a good amount of history included in the tour. For a walk of 75mins we covered a surprising distance, but never felt rushed and the stories were the centre of the walk. Great way to spend an evening in Toronto.
First off, the tour took us around a hour and a half, which I felt meant it was good value for money and gave us time to chat about the various stories with the other members of the group. We went mid-week in may and there was only 6 of us which gave the tour a very personal experience. The guide, whose name evades me, was excellent. She was really knowledgeable and myself and my partner loved hearing about the history of Toronto and the rich history of it's buildings. My partner is blind and the walk was mostly on flat ground at a leisurely pace, stopping by at some fantastic Churches and theatres, with plenty of funky trivia thrown in for good measure. Even if, like me, you're a sceptic, please swing by on this tour as it's good to see someone with a passion for storytelling sharing such wonderful tales!
A great way to spend the evening in Old Toronto
The tour was so much fun and very spooky! There was much to learn historically as well. We loved Meredith, she was a great storyteller and provided us with many historical facts about the city and its spooky past. We loved it!
It was an interesting tour of Toronto. Glad I went. Ben is a good story teller. And I'm glad he went back to the Hockey Hall of Fame (glad I had someone to walk back with). Lisa
We had a great time! Our guide was a lot of fun. She definitely knows her stuff! The history was very interesting.
Great tour! Our guide Hools was funny and informative. Good length of tour, looking forward to checking out some of the other tours!
Kallen is an excellent storyteller & informative tour guide! Great experience!
Dev was a great guide! They were informative and personable. We learned so much about Toronto: both the spooky side and practical side.
My hubby and I had a wonderful evening with Alicia (I hope I spelled it correctly). She was witty, informative, and made sure we were taken care of. It was a lovely and eerie experience!! Will do it again, but a different walk.
Despite the cold weather, our host was great, full of knowledge and had the art of storytelling with a flair for theatrics that enhanced the experience. He really enjoyed sharing stories.
Paul did an awesome job! He spent the time getting to know the group and weaved in some history of interest on the Brickworks tour - I’ll remember this whenever I’m stuck in traffic.
Amazing. Thanks to Dev for the great experience. Very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this ghost tour to others.
Great way to discover some spooky stories behind Toronto's historic buildings. The tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Highly recommended for a fun family outting.
Absolutely an amazing time hearing about the ghosts and things that make Toronto haunted. Great value as well, Shawn was amazing, amazing knowledge great story teller
The host was great. Not scary. The host did a good job of interacting with the group, and explaining the stories.
Our tour guide was really enthusiastic which made the overall experience suspenseful. Walked to various locations and each place had its own tale. Very informative about the history of the city. Great tour.
