Great tour! Jennifer is really knowledgeable of past and present China Town, Kensington and Toronto. Also open to questions of all sorts of worldly matters and Toronto's view of things. A true local guide. Do recommend!

I went on the tour with my family, we had jennifer as our guide. My family have complained about past tours that rush us and don't let us take in the sights, but this tour was just right, letting us take a breather now and then without feeling like it was dragging on. My aunt and sister especially liked how interractive the tour was, made it more enjoyable an easier to follow along. My family and i aren't used to the flow of the city and i appreciete how kind and patient jennifer was with us. She should also be commended for how she handled multiple confrontations (for lack of a better word) with some of the locals, we deffinitly would've gotten mugged without her.
Excellent walking tour. Jennifer shared a wealth of both cultural and architectural knowledge about the area. Highly recommend if you're looking something less touristy.
Jennifer was knowledgeable-learned a lot about the areas, the culture, and architecture. Recommend a tour as you can’t get all of this just walking around.
Very good tour and Jennifer is nice and very knowledgeable tour guide..
We had a great time in our tour with Jennifer. I really recommend it.
Perfect tour, Jennifer was great
I had a great tour with Jennifer- she was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and cultures that make up Toronto. I especially appreciated the art and mural discussions. She also had recommendations for local interests I would enjoy.
Jennifer was amazing. Full of information. Great detail on the history as a native who grew up here. Have already recommended this tour to our travel buddies.
Our tour guide, Jennifer, is knowledgeable and very personable. She gave us an extensive history of the Chinatown and Kensington Market areas. We truly enjoyed the tour.
Jennifer was wonderful. Me and my boyfriend had a great experience . Jennifer is smart , charismatic . Hopefully we will see her again.
Our guide Jen was awesome. Super knowledgeable and personable. Was a great tour and would recommend to others who want a little off the beaten path history tour in Toronto.
My guide Jennifer was fantastic and super-knowledgeable, which enhanced the experience. Thnx, Jennifer!
Amazin! Jennifer was really kind
Took the Kensington Market & Chinatown tour with our guide Jennifer, and it was a great way to see two of Toronto's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Jennifer's knowledge was the highlight, she had genuinely interesting stories and local history at every stop, and clearly loves these areas. We got a real sense of the character of both Chinatown and Kensington Market, plus some solid recommendations for spots to come back to. It rained for most of our tour, which took a bit of the shine off (through no fault of Jennifer or Intrepid Urban Adventures at all), so 4 stars rather than 5, but I'd absolutely recommend this tour, and I'd bet it's a 5-star experience on a dry day. Great value for 3 hours, and a wonderful way to get an insider's take on the city.
Such a fun way to explore Chinatown and Kensington Market! I’ve been around the area before, but the tour gave me a completely different perspective and helped me discover so much more about the neighbourhood, its history, and culture. Jennifer, our guide, was super friendly and knowledgeable and I loved hearing all the stories and details I probably would’ve missed on my own. Definitely recommend if you want to see a different side of Toronto and learn more about what makes Kensington Market so unique! 😊
Jennifer is a knowledgeable and well-informed Toronto local who shared candid perspectives on the city multicultural history and present day dynamics. We especially appreciated the snacks at Mashion Bakery and coffee break at Moonbeam Cafe. It felt like spending a few hours having an engaging and thought-provoking conversation than a glossy tour.
Our guide was Jennifer She was extremely informative and knowledgeable She did a great job
Great tour, Jennifer was a great Guide with a lot of insights.
Expert tour guide Kieran was totally responsible for making this very average content tour enjoyable and interesting. The content: Kensington Market... actually a scruffy row of rundown shops and not any sort of actual "market" is eminently skippable -- especially if you've already been to the far better St. Lawrence Market. And Chinatown... a neighborhood that essentially covers the same territory, but with Chinese signage and a few murals is also a miss. If you've traveled worldwide as much as I have and seen vibrant local markets and cultural enclaves, then you'll likely be underwhelmed by what Toronto has on offer. Both Kensington Market and Chinatown are meager, mostly decrepit and potentially threatening if wandering around alone. Fortunately, Kieran was there as my guide. He took some sorry scraps and wove them into a rich, embroidered fabric. Thank you, Kieran
I live in the city and took my visiting parents on this tour mid-September on a Tuesday. So we were the only ones, and our tour guide Robert was really great. He’s very knowledgeable and we also ended up chatting about other places we’ve visited as well. I loved we had some time to pop into some of the Kensington vintage stores as well. Snagged up a great jacket for a good price. I took down his restaurant recs and after we ended up at one of them for lunch. Highly recommend!
Very informative and interesting tour of 2 vibrant neighborhoods. Enjoyed walking and seeing local businesses
Kieran was a good guide who told interesting stories of the area. I enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.
Wonderful introduction to Kensington and Chinatown. Jackie, our guide, shared stories about the history of the areas and personal experiences. It was truly an insider’s look at the communities and not to be missed.
First of all, I would like to highlight the exceptional work of our guide, Robert; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. This tour aims to introduce you to the different cultural communities that have helped build these vibrant neighborhoods. Through anecdotes and meetings with local merchants, you will understand that it is possible to preserve your identity in a big city like Toronto. You will also discover new restaurants and shops away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Guide didn’t show up. After 45 minutes we called Viator who immigrated issued a refund. We walked the expected tour route ourselves afterwards. Would have liked it to have been guided.
Tour was MEH. Sights and locations were interesting however I just felt like it was a lot of walking and not a lot of information. Expected much more from our guide, felt like I could have done the self-guided option and learn more that way.
Our tour guide Kieran really brought this experience to life. He had a lot of interesting and knowledgeable information to share and was very well-spoken in his way of storytelling. It was really refreshing that he showed interest in our backgrounds and experience within the city (as it was far from our first time in Toronto) to be able to connect, relate, and share information. He was engaging and helpful, humorous and witty, and overall connected with us beyond what we expected going into it. The coffee shop trip being included was a plus. We missed him as soon as our tour was over! Thanks again Kieran!
A good way to learn about the history of Toronto! I'm glad I took a tour of this area as it helped showcase the highlights.
Had an amazing tour with Joann. I was the only one and she still ran the tour. A real knowledgeable guide. She pointed out many landmarks that I've passed often and didn't know much about. As it was just me, she was great at customising the tour. There were two stops at great local businesses for food and drink which were included. Interesting tour and great value.
Our group of 4 loved this tour! We did a city tour afterward and it felt so boring in comparison. This one was fun, interesting, unique, and full of cool stories. If you're visiting Kensington/Chinatown, you have to do this - without it, you'd miss the deep history and meaning behind what you're seeing. You would miss out on a lot.. Kieran gave us a deeper appreciation for the area - the beautiful art (!!) , the history, and the stories behind the buildings and people. Kieran was a FANTASTIC guide - friendly, funny, welcoming, and a great speaker & storyteller. He shared so many meaningful stories and fun facts. We loved it! Made the tour so interesting and fun! One thing to note: the tour says 3 hours, but if your group is small, it might be shorter. That didn’t bother us at all - we care more about quality than the exact length. It still felt full and complete. The pace was great too. I liked that it wasn’t rushed and had a good balance of walking, listening, and a little resting. I also loved the coffee shop Kieran took us to—it was quirky, fun, and sparked some conversation and laughs… (but I won't give away the details!) This tour is more for people who enjoy something unique, fun..... especially if you appreciate diverse cultures, local history, and understanding how a neighborhood came to be the way it is. It’s not your average city tour, and that’s what makes it so special and fun. Overall, a beautiful, memorable experience!
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. A lot of historical detail which gave an appreciation for the neighbourhoods. It was also fun strolling through the neighbourhoods which helped gave a better feel or their energies. Coffee stop was nice.
Jackie was a fantastic, knowledgeable and engaging tour guide! She seamlessly wove in the history of Toronto, while pointing out key graffiti artists, and showing us the best spots for local bites. The diversity and history of the Kensington Market and Chinatown area was made much more compelling with Jackie’s guidance. My kids (14 and 16) and I loved the experience. Thank you!
This was no average walking tour, but then again, Toronto is no average city. The bonus was Jackey, a seasoned and upbeat tour leader for our small group. She shared much history and took us into some amazing shops.
Kieran was a fantastic guide! Not only was he knowledgeable, but culturally sensitive and patient as my friends and I bombarded him with loads of questions. This was one of the highlights of our visit to Toronto.
Wonderful and informative tour. Jackie our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and Toronto in general.b
Loved the tour, my tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable about the city. Very friendly and answered all my questions. I would love to go on another tour with this company!
Awesome Experience! If you want to see an amazing side of Toronto and take in all the magnificent art/graffiti, this will not disappoint. Robert is an amazing guide and super fun to hang out with! Highly recommend!! Would totally do another tour with Robert!
Royden gave an excellent tour. The break was well timed, good coffee and lots of local lore. I highly recommend the tour. Thanks!
We had a great tour with Royden! He was warm and funny. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in this area.
Our guide, Aaron, was super knowledgeable and food stops were yummy. It turned out to be just me and my wife on the tour so it was very personalized. Would definitely recommend!
Very knowledgeable but quite a bit of standing for a walking tour. Included a local pastry and coffee drink which was a surprise.
I was part of a very small group of two solo travellers, together with our guide, Robert, who was extremely knowledgeable and good fun. The tour covered a brief history of the area generally, street art, eateries, shops, buildings, people and places. Would very much recommend.
History of immigration in Toronto as background to the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and interested in our questions and showed us sites generally known to locals but not understood by visitors.
Not really a tour. Just a stroll through Kensington market. Our guide was a nice person but not an ever engaging guide. The food and drink samples were good!
Kieran was a great tour guide! He mixed in with our family vibe very well and showed us all around China Town and Kensington Market. We enjoyed hearing about the history of Toronto.
It was a pleasure to have Michelle as a tour guide and learn about history of two famous historical places in Toronto. Thx
Jackie was a great tour guide, definitely brought some genuine local experience to it! The snacks along the way we're a nice touch too!
I learn a lot of history about Chinatown and Kenigston Market. Some of the murals in the Chinatown are stunning. Great story behind it. I had great conversation with a guide one and one so it felt like I was hanging out with a friend. I totally recommend doing this tour.
Our guide Roydon shared a lot of fun and interesting history about the neighborhoods. He paced the trip well, and the length was just right. The inclusion of a Chinese pastry and coffee was a nice touch. I highly recommend this tour.
