Itinerary
Your visit to Skylon Tower begins with the 'Ride to the Top' in the glass-enclosed exterior elevator, which provides a smooth, 52-second trip to the expansive indoor and outdoor observation deck. Take in the aerial views of Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, Great Gorge, and the Niagara River from the top of the tower, the region's tallest free-standing structure. You can also spot the Niagara wine region and the skyscrapers of Toronto and Buffalo on a clear day, when the view extends beyond 77 miles (125 km).

In addition to “Maid of the Mist”, this is one of the best attractions you could ever have in Niagara!
I wasn't going to do this, and only went up the tower as I had some time to kill. It was incredible to have such a different perspective on the falls. As it was a clear day, you could see the CN Tower and Rodgers Centre in Toronto! It was only $20 and all the hotels have leaflets including a discount. If that wasn't enough, there is a retro videogame arcade in the basement (free to enter). I highly recommend to anyone visiting the falls.
Open since 1965, the Skylon Tower is one of Niagara Falls’ most iconic attractions. Towering 520 feet above ground and 775 feet above the legendary Horseshoe Falls, you are treated to unobstructed – stunning – views of the Falls (Horseshoe, American, and Bridal), the Great Gorge, wine district and city skyline. Indeed, from these heights, if one wished to make it an extra special event, then dining in Skylon’s revolving restaurant is a proverbial “must do.” I mean high level dining AND stunning views of Niagara Falls? What could be better? In our case, the Skylon Tower was the last stop on our brief foray into Niagara Falls. Arriving just after 9:20pm, it was very quiet on the ground level floor. We spent a few moments reading about – and observing – the “Daredevil Barrels of Niagara Exhibit.” It was both neat and sobering to see the barrel used by Dr. William Fitzgerald when he successfully went over the Horseshoe Falls in 1961. I say “neat” because you’re looking at an important piece of contemporary history. And, I say “sobering” because you can see just how powerful the falls are: Dr. Fitzgerald’s barrel was quite beat up! Crazy sauce! After enjoying the Daredevil Barrels exhibit, we checked out the retro arcade, albeit only very briefly. I’ll agree with an earlier TripAdvisor report: This part of Skylon totally looks like it’s locked in 1993, but that’s not a bad thing; on the contrary, it gives off a fun retro vibe. “Champion” the rainbow horse certainly beckoned and called, but we resisted and instead rode the glass-enclosed elevator up to the observation deck. Unsurprisingly, it is here where we spent most of our time. And, really, how could we not? Because of the later hour, the observation deck was much quieter – we didn’t have to “fight” to get prime view spots. The Horseshoe Falls looked magnificent with their colourful lighting; the American Falls also looked nice, though they seemed to lack the brilliant lightshow of their Canadian counterpart; and, of course, the city skylines of Buffalo and Niagara Falls looked most inviting. Just note that the outside observation deck can get quite windy! Once back on the ground floor, we stopped at the Skylon Starbucks kiosk and enjoyed a Cool Lime Refresher before returning to our hotel (see my review on this site). Maybe next time we’ll partake in the elevated dining experience? Yes, I’d like that! Of course, I can’t go without offering a very brief comparison of Skylon Tower to Vancouver’s Harbour Centre. They are, in many ways, quite similar: Skylon Tower was opened in 1965 while Harbour Centre was opened in 1977. Both use high speed glass-enclosed elevators to take you up to their observation decks; and, both offer revolving restaurants with upscale dining (and both complete full revolutions within an hour). Skylon Tower is taller (775 feet versus Harbour Centre’s 553 feet). I also think Skylon has the better views thanks to Niagara Falls, but Harbour Centre’s views of the North Shore Mountains, Pacific Ocean and Vancouver skyline aren’t to be missed. The Harbour Centre, notably, does not offer an outside viewing option. Be that as it may, both towers are excellent and should be part of everyone’s itinerary. Skylon is the elder and most well-known, but Harbour Centre shows off some of the best BC has to offer. In short, if you are visiting Niagara Falls, then Skylon Tower definitely needs to be on your list. The unique bird’s eye view perspective can’t be beat and, while we didn’t visit it, the revolving restaurant certainly looks quite nice. Please enjoy one of Canada’s most iconic structures and landscapes. We did :)
Make sure you bring a paper copy of your tickets. Also, It is quite windy and cool up that high. Bring a jacket.
A 360d, good view of Toronto and the falls. We chose to go in the evening when the falls were lit up.
It’s windy, be sure to dress warmly. Great info plaques around the windows to give history of the sights. Redemption of your pass can be done at the actual ticket counter inside. No ‘redemption booth’ exists.
Buffet direction of people poorly managed. Food was good. View excellent. Buffet restaurant does not rotate. Wait staff very good.
You may not think it's much but it was an amazing experience, I loved it. Would definitely do again. One of my experiences celebrating my upcoming 50th birthday
Ahh, a time long ago. This tower was probably very nice back in the 80s/90s, but it has fallen to disrepair. Empty gift shops, run down arcade and one elevator system (run very efficiently btw). The view is what gets you and it really does not disappoint, but if you are looking for an “experience” this is not your place.
Great place to visit. The views of the falls from the observation deck are wonderful. We also had a meal in the revolving restaurant. The food was quite expensive but very good and it was wonderful to see the views whilst eating. Visit to the observation desk is included if you have a meal.
I’m not sure what to think about the Tower. It was part of a tour, so we went. There certainly is a lot of hype surrounding the idea. Going up over 500 feet there is an observation area overlooking the Falls. It’s a neat view. But crowded. We went up in a glass elevator so we could see out as we went up. The observation deck surrounds the tower. I’m surprised that he tower didn’t lean since all the people were on the side facing the Falls. It felt quite an orchestrated event. But the view from the top was nice. Probably could skip it.
The views were great lots of photo ops go both day and night. Surrounding points of interest are identified around the interior circumference. The rotating restaurant is worth it. The meal was good service was great and its a worthwhile experience. There is also a really large arcade in the lower level. You should definitely visit this site if your in Niagara Falls.
A nice place to go to see a different view of the falls. The group pictures are cute and affordable. The gift shop is a little pricey but has some reasonable items. Can get a bit congested and hard to find a spot to see if youre close to 10pm.
My husnad and I have been to Niagara Falls several times. This however is our first time seeing the Falls from the Skylon Tower (birds eye view) for my husband and I was worth it. The panoramic view was amazing and just breathtaking. If this is your first Niagara Falls visit this might be the way you want see the Falls. P.S there's a restaurant I recommend you look that up if you want to have a special dinner for a memorable occasion that would be the spot. Enjoy!!
The views atop the tower are great. You can dine at the restaurant, shops at the gift shop, or play games in the arcade.
This is one of those places that's worth the price of admission. Honestly I've been here a dozen times in my life and it never gets old. It's really beautiful and getting that 360 view is well worth the price. But the other part that is really cool that nobody talks about is the awesome retro arcade in the basement! It's huge and stuck in like 1993!! This is one of the coolest gems I've EVER seen
I don't get to the area often so I wanted to engage in a low-key tourist event. It was a short walk from my hotel. We were able to get in and up to the observation deck in about 15 minutes. There were a wide array of views from the observation deck. Sights of the US and Canadian sides of the Niagara Falls. It was a very neat experience. Each significant point of view contained a short story what is nearby. I arrived in the late afternoon/early evening. The crowd size was relatively small (<100 folks)
Great dinner and views. Falls were magnificent from the restaurant and Observation Deck
Rozena was simply AMAZING! She was very knowledgeable, professional and provided us with fun facts about Niagara Falls. I recommend her, a true asset to your Team - we loved her!
Wow! This was so amazing! We had a great time taking tons of pictures of all the falls and Clifton Hill while the wind was blowing through the safety fence. It was exhilarating!
View was better than the food.
Your ticket is valid for 6 months if you buy from here, a year if you buy at the desk. This was great as the day we booked for was overcast so we were able to use it a day later. We went up in the evening so we could see the fireworks from up there and the illuminated falls.
Best of time. Our tour guide Haroon was very helpful and he gave great explinations. Haroon had great knowledge of everything and question were always welcome. Would definitely recommend to others. 10/10
It was a really cool experience. The view is so beautiful. I got some pretty cool pictures from the top. The photo shoot before the event is cool too.
Such beautiful views. We ate at the buffet which was great. And we saw the fireworks and the falls all lit up!
It was good but more activities should be included at the towers. Nice view and pleasant sightseeing
Skylon Tower was awesome! We could see all the way to Toronto! A very nice view of the falls! Service was good and food just okay, but worth the price!
The panoramic view of the falls and surrounding scenery were spectacular from the top of the tower…I’m glad we did it!!
It was so much fun going to the top and getting breath taking views, but the elevator man was extremely rude to my party.
Elevator is quick. Views are stunning. Merchandise & photos are way overpriced. The viewing area could use some cleaning though, it's a shame that some customers chose to throw trash in the viewing area.
best views of the falls and a verry professional service food was ok.
Nice view of the city. Nice if you wan a 360 view of the city and on the falls.
Nice view. The ride to top is quick so don’t be worried if you are afraid of heights(52 seconds to get you to the top).
This was a great experience. Second time we did went up 20 years. Food was a little expensive but not doing it all the time.
The elevator was to crowed . It was a good view of the falls but the fencing didn’t allow for good pictures.
This is a must see event for the best view of the entire falls. Great value for money. Paid a little extra to go back up for the fireworks.
Going up in the Tower itself was great. We had great conditions for viewing. The process for getting into the Tower was not great. While I was able to download the ticket directly to my IPhone wallet, the entrance folks could not scan the tickets. I had to go back and find the original email and then it took a while to extract what was needed. This process needs work to make smoother.
Great for sight seeing sometime was hard to understand tour guide. The lunch was ok and we could have done our own. Overall it was a good experience.
Amazing view of the Falls, highly recommended!! Smooth process to get to the top. Spend as much time as you want.
Great trip. I had a great view of the Niagara Falls from the top of the Skylon. Recommend this experience to everyone.
Gives a great 360⁰ view of the falls and surrounding area. Going up the outside elevator was a good experience as well.
Spiders were everywhere. I could barely enjoy the experience because I was too distracted by the spiders.
It was easy to use and was able to get the time and date I wanted for the excursion .
Worth the hike over from the American side. The food and service were great! We enjoyed the views and whole experience. John and Zach provided friendly, excellent service and the Bellini was wonderful!
That is a beautiful to look the Niagara Falls, people are awesome (the workers are referring to) I had a awesome experience
We had a FABULOUS experience at the Skylon Tower Observation Deck! Going up in the evening was absolutely the perfect choice. The breathtaking views of Niagara Falls were incredible, and watching the falls illuminated with the colorful evening light show was simply spectacular. The fireworks at the end were truly the icing on the cake and made the entire experience even more magical. Our whole family loved every minute of it, and we highly recommend adding the Skylon Tower to your Niagara Falls itinerary. It is absolutely worth it and is an experience we will never forget!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. In the souvenir shop the woman that waited on us was wonderful.
Beautiful views of the falls! No glass on top so pictures are great from up there! (Arcade in bottom wasn’t great, some machines ate our money and lots of out of order )
Breathtaking view from the Skylon Tower! Toured US and Candian side by boat and foot. The tower was like the cherry on top!
