I booked this tour over a month prior to visiting Toronto and then the night before I receive a text that there was an issue with Viator and that they are not able to accommodate my reservation and can book me with another tour company. I did however the new company did not include all the stops and time frame they did and the guide service was very lacking. Beware if you book this tour they may cancel last minute leaving you to scramble for new plans.

Itinerary
Join us for a day tour to Niagara Region. We will start our tour at Ball's Falls. We will walk to Upper Falls where you can enjoy and incredible view of waterfalls. After the hiking we will take you to our favorite local winery. You will learn about wine and you will get to taste 3 table wines and ice wine (even if you don't like wine, you will LOVE ice wine). The award winning winery has the best prices of ice wine in Niagara region. Our next stop will be at White Meadows Maple Farm. You will learn how is maple sap boiled and bottled and you will taste a different kinds of maple syrup. Our next stop will be in Niagara on the Lake. You will get a free time for lunch and sightseeing this beautiful historical town. Our last stop will be in Niagara Falls. You can walk along the Falls. Please note, from May to October, the itinerary will be reversed. Niagara Falls is the first stop of the day, than Niagara on the Lake, Maple Farm, Winery and Ball's Falls the last.

A packed full 12 hour day. Excellent venues to visit and would highly recommend this trip. There were only 6 people on our trip so bizarrely they stuck us all in a car that was quite cramped to be honest. They no doubt saved money not using a transit van equivalent. The trip is really about taking you from A to B as opposed to anything being "guided" but this was fine. The driver was a good person and did a great job ferrying us all around. He was Filipino (apologies can't remember his name) and a credit to the company. We did the boat included for Niagara Falls and this was simply brilliant as you experience the power and sound of the falls. Maple farm was good but the wine location was somewhat small and they only let you try the basic wines. Nonetheless, overall I would recommend this trip to others as we certainly enjoyed it.
This tour definitely provided a fun day out. There was a lot of time to explore Niagara (the falls area) and at Niagara on the Lake. The maple syrup factory and vineyard visits were also great. Overall - excellent day trip and I'd definitely recommend. For me - the vineyard was definitely a highlight as well as the Hornblower Cruise. The only improvements/recommendations/suggestions I have are as follows: - perhaps do the brief introductions outside of the moving vehicle as the sound doesn't travel well inside while moving on the major roads - on the e-ticket or on the day of, email everyone the timeline of the day so they'd know where and when to return for pick up (just as a reinforcement) - if the van could have stayed on site at Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake for those who may not have wanted to walk around as much - especially as it was raining - that would have been a plus - I expected more time at the maple syrup factory - to see the equipment and learn more about the process etc (unless that's proprietary information). - the drop off point was unexpected. I was under the impression that we'd be returning to where we were picked up (at Ripley's). The drop off point had me a bit uneasy as instead of the Dufferin subway entrance, the van turned into an alley way opposite this entrance. This had me a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps a mall or some sort of city centre might be better. Despite the weather, fantastic day out.
The most memorable part of the trip was the “add -on” that we purchased to take the boat ride at Niagara Falls. Other than that the tour was staged to separate the tourists from their money. Niagara on the Lake, the maple syrup tour , and the vineyard tour were not tours at all. We were provided samples of their products and asked if we wanted to buy. That was it. No demonstrations, no tours of the grounds, and very little knowledge displayed when questions were asked. Very disappointing.
I enjoyed the 1 day tour and festival of light. It was worth the money we paid for this fantastic day. Too bad we didn't stay over night, next year we will. Thank you!!!!
I had the best time on this tour! The itinerary was perfect and it was a well paced busy day with lots of free time to explore! We had some unique stops that If on my own would not have known to visit! Our tour guide Ramiro was very welcoming, organized, and spoke a lot about the area! I highly recommend booking a tour with this company … it’s a day well spent! I will book another tour with them again!
The trip was postponed by one day to have sunny weather and we started an hour earlier to enjoy the Niagara Falls not overcrowded. Simply beautiful! Both tastings were great.. thank for this amazing trip Mike!
Great combination of activities! We enjoyed every bit of it. Advice; wait for lunch in Niagara on the lake.
We particularly wanted a smaller tour and didn’t want to be taken to the guide’s mates places. We paid extra to be picked up from our hotel and then to the meeting place where we met with our guide for the day- Mike. He was a very knowledgeable, affable chap who knew his stuff and nothing was too much trouble. What we really appreciated was his flexibility and willingness to cut shorter time spent at falls, as the Hornblower cruises weren’t yet running, and to spend more time at the other stops. He had good recommendations everywhere and was great company on what was a long day for him. Would definitely recommend this company and will use them again. Thanks Lenka for making all the arrangements
My favourite part about Travelling Chicken is the personal touch. Lenka takes interest in everyone, making sure the experience is enjoyable for all. The Niagara trip was well run and I did not feel rushed despite the many fun stops & activities Travelling Chicken put into that tour.
A different one day tour as compared to regular mundane Niagara falls watching. Got to know about this trip a little late but liked it a lot, especially the beautiful area which has vineyards, 'Niagara on the lake' town followed by a small scenic trek to the Niagara Glen reserve area.
The tour was informative and very relaxing. Our guide, Lenka, gave detailed explanations about visited places. Even we did not go to Maple farm as Covid restrictions, all other stops were very interesting, especially Niagara falls.
Had so much fun on the trip. Learned a lot of things. Been living in Toronto for almost five years and I’ve never seen Niagara this much.
Lenka is amazing! She is very personable and knowledgeable about the area. I enjoyed this tour so much that I took another tour with her the next day. I also recommend her dog sledding tour.
Visiting Toronto and decided to do this tour on my own to see a few sights I might not have been able to otherwise do. Great day out and well planned. It was one of the highlights of my whole holiday!! Lenka was lovely and knew all the best places. If I’m ever back in Toronto , I’ll definitely book on for another one of her tours!
The day tour to the Niagara Region was such a splendid experience that it had become the highlight of our southern Ontario trip. I couldn't thank my sister enough for having chosen the Travelling Chicken tour. Our group was so lucky to have Lenka and her colleague as guides. They are not just knowledgeable and well-versed on the history of the area, but more importantly, they are so friendly and accommodating to us all. It was a breathtaking and memorable -- and so "Canadian" experience for my kid sister and her husband who flew north of the border for a short vacation. The trail leading to Ball's Falls was picturesque in a snowy, wintertime way. We were able to visit a local winery and try the interesting ice wine. The visit to a maple syrup farm was fascinating and informative. And a stop in a quaint, historic town called Niagara on the Lake was just as charming. The Niagara Falls visit was the grand finale of course! We marveled at its beauty on a chilly, damp Saturday -- and we really didn't mind! Welcome to Canada, eh?!!! There were flurries that went on for a bit that afternoon but it just added to the majesty and mystique of the Falls atmosphere. There were probably less visitors in winter, but we somehow appreciated it that way. Needless to say, and as the five-stars rating would suggest, we highly recommend the Travelling Chicken to other tourists. Thank you so much Lenka for showing us around and taking great photos! The day trip was as lovely as your sunshiny smile.
Lenka is a very good tour guide. She totatally responds to your personality. If you want to talk, she shows real interest and asks questions but if you just want to sit back and relax she gets it. She´s been to a lot of places, so she has a lot to say about many different subjects. On the tour, she was on time at the meeting point, but I would sugest that the airbnb page of the tour should have the exact place to be in the mall, because we had a little trouble finding that out. Falls Balls is a nice place where you can take nice photos and have a little fresh air. Sue Ann Winery is a good experience also, where Jake is very friendly and pacient. Wine tasting is not our kind oh thing and we had a great time. Maple farm is the only disappointing part of the tour, because the girl that gives the tour had clearly no time for us and just gave a little 5 minute talk that was not very educational. We understood that she had other things to do and giving a tour is not the main activity there, so we did not took it personal. Niagara on the lake was good and the falls are very nice too. In every stop Lenka showed perfect punctuality, which we appreciated very much. Overall I reccomend this tour and company a lot.
WARNING: this tour will most likely be rescheduled. I booked my niagara falls for a Friday and Lenka sent me a message on Thursday letting me know that the tour will have to be cancelled and that there are options for Saturday and Monday. I suspect that not enough people were trying to go to the falls on Friday so they had to reschedule. I understood where the tour was coming from so I was okay with it. However, it was a hassle to move all of my plans for Saturday to Friday. If I was leaving on Saturday, I would have been very disappointed. But Lenka was extremely unprofessional after I replied on Thursday that Saturday would work. I received a reply late at night on Friday for the confirmation of my Saturday plans even after calling the company several times. On to the tour. First of all, a 15-person mini van was advertised for the tour. That was not the case. I was forced to sit in the tiniest, most uncomfortable seat in the middle row between two people. I had to sit in a seat with a head rest that shoved into my neck and armrests that shoved into my left and right back for 4 hours. Mike (our tour guide) had his girlfriend come on the tour with us and although she was friendly, I did not see why she was coming with us. Secondly, Mike, our tour guide, really did not care about the tour. Mike gave us no explanation of the falls or the places that we were going to. He simply drove us to the places (in a rush) and let us off to do our own thing. He would often ask questions to us but the point of a tour is not only to get to know each other but to be GUIDED to the places we are visiting. I could have easily got on a bus to the falls instead of booking this tour. The falls were beautiful but I learned nothing from this tour.
As we were staying in Toronto and it looked a little complicated to get to Niagara Falls by ourselves, we decided to book a day tour with Lenka from Travelling Chicken. We were so glad that we did. We not only saw and experienced Niagara Falls but also saw much of the pretty countryside that surrounds the Falls area. Fortunately for us, three others had pulled out that morning, but that meant we were just a tour group of three and got an even more intimate experience, driven in a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle. Lenka was adaptable and flexible in the plans for the day and suggested we see Niagara Falls first, as it was July fourth and peak tourist season. We parked in a nearby carpark, got our first glimpse of the Falls and walked along the promenade until we reached the tour boats. With out Travelling Chicken tickets we were able to ride the furnicular there and back. The wait was not so long to board "Maid in the Mist" boat tours and we were taken as close as possible to the amazing Falls. There were several options for lunch, but due to the hot weather and the hoardes of tourists, Lenka looked at Down Town Niagara and suggested we eat there as it was reasonably quiet. (Originally we were to go to Niagara on the Lake for lunch). Again we were given a number of dining options, but we chose to eat in an old fashioned diner which was fun! It was then on to Niagara on the Lake where many people were enjoying the shores of Lake Ontario. Time was given to walk around this beautiful town, take a look in some of the captivating shops and enjoy an icecream from award winning Cows. It was on to a maple syrup farm to learn about the harvesting and production of maple syrup. This came complete with maple syrup tastings and the opportunity to purchase goods to take home. Next was a stop at a winery to taste amongst other wines, "Ice Wine". Our last stop was at the Balls Falls. The walk to these falls took us through beautiful forested areas and on to another set of lovely waterfalls. Here, there were very few tourists. A long but enjoyable, action packed day thanks to Lenka, our guide. It was a very full but enjoyable day. This day tour is great and takes you to so many different places.
Definitely one of the best life experiences. They take you by the hand by each place and make it special, every detail is surprising, also Lenka did us the favor of taking a spectacular guide named Cris, Spanish speaking that gave an invaluable plus to our experience, since we speak Spanish. He reiterated it was a spectacular experience, right there I asked who will be my wife and that memory I keep in my soul and I must say that Lenka keep those moments in beautiful photographs that I gave us at the end of the tour, thank you. They will certainly not regret it; it changed our lives.
I had visited the falls in the summer, last week my friends and I went with travelling chicken on their trip to niagara falls, we really liked the experience because they took us to a conservation area where there were beautiful waterfalls, we were on a farm where they produce maple honey and also we tasted wine, our guide was always giving us recommendations and also introduction about the places we visited. If you plan to know niagara falls this is a very good option.
