Itinerary
The tour begins from our ticket office at 200 Ontario Street featuring wonderful views of the Kingston Waterfront.
Kingston City Hall was completed in 1844, with its scale and design reflective of Kingston's status as the capital of the Province of Canada at that time. The architect chosen for the project in 1841 was George Browne, and the building was believed to be one of Browne's most outstanding works. The building was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1961
The Kingston Public Market is the oldest market in Ontario and has been providing food and a sense of community to residents of Kingston since 1801.
We share why Hochelaga Inn, built in 1879 for John McIntyre, a prominent Kingston lawyer and mayor, is our favourite haunted hotel in the city!
The building was constructed in 1890 as The Chalmers Free Presbyterian Church. It was renamed to Chalmers United Church in 1925 with the creation of the United Church of Canada. It has a great ghost story!
With its congregation dating to 1783, the Cathedral is associated with the first organized Anglican parish in Ontario. Started in 1825, St. George's replaced a smaller structure built a short distance away in 1792. The core of the existing church was built of stone to the design of Kingston architect Thomas Rogers in 1825. The building was substantially enlarged in the 1840s with the addition of a nave bay, a large clock tower and an entrance portico comprised of a pediment supported by four columns. Completely gutted by fire in 1899, the church was quickly rebuilt under the direction of Joseph Power & Son. In 1975, the City of Kingston designated the church under the Ontario Heritage Act and, in 1981, the Ontario Heritage Trust secured a heritage easement on the building.

Some friends and I went on the Haunted Walk this past October and it was the perfect kickoff to spooky season. Our guide, Elaine, was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and just plain hilarious. The stories were very well researched, full of spooky lore and local history that gave us a new appreciation for the beautiful city we live in. We will be back, thank you!
My husband took my kids this year whereas I went last year. Everyone has a great time both times. What was fun is that this time the route and stories were different so my kids had a great experience both times.
We decided to make a side trip to Kingston for this ghost walk. We are so happy we did! Anne Marie was a captivating story teller and the town of Kingston is charming.
Our family participated in the traditional haunted walk in Kingston. Our guide Wesley was excellent and she was easy to hear and understand. The distance of the walk was just right and provided the chance to see some of the beautiful architecture old Kingston has to see. Overall recommended for a fun evening out.
Amy was our guide - she gave us a great spooky tour of old Kingston. Saw lots of highlights we never would’ve found ourselves. And we actually double booked by mistake and that went out of their way to correct it so we didn’t pay twice. Thanks guys, great tour!
Whesley was amazing. I wasnt sure at first because of how busy the roads were but her storytelling kept me interested and focused. We loved it!
Rebecca was an amazing storyteller and we enjoyed every minute of this activity ! I highly recommend it . I didn’t bring my 12years old and I am glad cause it was spooky enough …!
We purchased the 72hour K-Pass. Best for our time here. We were able to book our tour for Friday. Loved the trolley. Not the same as the daytime runs. This was painted black. Richard was our guide, who we'd had as our guide that day as well as Bruce who was our guide of Kingston on Wednesday! What a nice surprise! The tour started with our first ghost!!! Surprise!! The tour guide takes you all over Kingston telling stories of people who have died and souls who are most likely NOT at rest. The tour includes actors portraying stories about individuals who lived and died in Kingston. Historic sites included Fort Henry, Rick wood Asylum and Kingston Penitentiary. I definitely recommend purchasing the Kpass to see all of the sites, museums, and the Ghost tour!!
Our tour guide Wesley was awesome ! Highly recommend if you are looking for something different !
Great ghost tour in Kingston! Liam was a fantastic guide — fun, engaging, and full of great stories. It was a cold, windy night so definitely dress warm, but totally worth it!
We had a great time! Our guide was wonderful and told us many stories along the way. We saw places we weren’t familiar with and heard stories that were funny, creepy, and just all out interesting. Also a great bit of exercise after a good meal. Would definitely recommend and would do it again at a different site.
We booked this tour last minute and really enjoyed it! Miya was a great guide - told the stories very well to create a sense of intrigue and atmosphere with great theatrical delivery! She was also a great source of local information and was very personable! What a great value for money tour and we would highly recommend!
Great tour and our guide was amazing!! She was well versed and knew her history. She answered everyone’s questions and made sure we were all safe at all times. Highly recommend!!!
In Kingston do another tour, and thought we should do this tour while we were in town. This was our 3rd tour we have done with this company, of the many walks they do. As always it didn’t disappoint, and Elliot made it enjoyable. Lots of stops, with great ghost stories, and local history. The story telling made it extra special, and couldn’t have picked a better night for it. Weather was perfect. Like most tours, recommend booking early, as we lucked out and got a last min spot. The tours usually fill up fast.
Leashed pets are warmly welcomed. You'll find yourself walking down some low lit streets etc., a flashlight might come in handy.
We had our tour with Rebecca and it was truly a very fun experience! She spoke very clearly and was very easy to understand.
Our group very much enjoyed our Ghost Walk tour. Our guide Marie was engaging and a great story teller. We learned alot of spooky details about the City of Kingston.
Amazing tour guide, so knowledgable the tour had a lot of history of the city of Kingston. Thank you for a great evening.
Walking around this town with a guide is a great way to see everything. It's so much fun when they tell stories about the different places. The guide made sure everyone was entertained and engaged throughout the tour. It was an great way to start spooky season and I would do it again! (sorry , I forgot her name 8 september 19h45 )
If you really want to see Kingston, you have to join the Haunted Walk Tour! Allison, our tour guide gave us a “spirited” look at places of spooky significance!. We will definitely be back to take another tour!!
It was a great experience. Mya was awesome at telling the stories I would definitely recommend this experience
It's a walk around the city for 75 minutes with occasional Stops to listen to the guide tell stories
The walk was fantastic! Our tour guide Tamara was amazing. Her stories were awesome! It was a gem during our vacation...so much fun!
We've lived in Kingston for over 18 years and had never done the haunted walk. We finally bit the bullet and are so glad we did. Rebecca did an amazing job with her storytelling. There were moments of aw, moments when your skin would crawl, and even moments of laughter. It was definitely worth the time and money. So happy we finally did it. We want to thank Rebecca for a night well spent.
Allison was very animated, spoke clearly & loudly, waited for everyone to be ready to listen, spoke with purpose, did not get distracted or off track, engaged people appropriately but not too much. We appreciated coming back to the office to see the photo of the ghost at the bar & we were able to get a fridge magnet for my collection.
it was definitely fun and something different. Plus you get to learn about history so definitely worth it!
Arianne was our tour guide and she was very engaging and informative. She answered everyone’s questions thoroughly!
My daughter lost her cell phone on the walk, and we didn't realize it until after it was over. A guide on the tour after us (Amy) stopped and walked us back through until we found the phone. Above and beyond the call!
It was fantastic! Even the teenagers found the storytelling engaging. Very interesting and informative tour of creepy local history!
When we booked the tour I had no idea of what this tour could be especially since my wife was the one who really wanted to go on it. However, when the tour started I was quite pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail that went into it wit our walk guide Rebecca dressed for the occasion. She also explained very nicely the rules and dos and don’ts. The rest followed the great start and she kept the interest of the group through her beautiful story telling skills. To top it all she reserved the best for the end like a cherry on top to end a great evening. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Interesting facts on the tour, the leader could have been a bit more animated. But overall we were very pleased with the experience
Liam was a wonderful tour guide! He made a point of walking and talking with each guest. He was a good presenter of the ghost stories and very pleasant and engaging!!
We decided to take this tour of Kingston based on the reviews on TripAdvisor... we were not disappointed! From.the moment we arrived, Alison made us welcome and built the spooky anticipation! Her storytelling was excellent, her style was engaging and fun and we left feeling thrilled by the tales! Thank you to Alison for pointing out some unrelated non-spooky things too, such as fireflies, we had never seen them before as we are from the UK! Highly recommended!
The tour gives you the opportunity to see many sites in the downtown area with a rich history and many impressive buildings. The guide of our tour Arianne was quite knowledgeable with answering our questions and had a great storyteller presents that grabbed your attention.
Our tour was with Maia and it's was very cool. She was very interresting and we had a very good time. I highly recommend this tour, the stories were funny and chilling.
Alison was a wonderful guide. She took time to speak with all members of the group, especially my 2 daughter and 2 other children in the group. She even provided mosquito patches to help keep the bugs at bay! Thank you for a wonderful walk through history!
So...haunted walks aren't scary. Not even very creepy. But they're a fun way to see a new city. Neighborhoods you might miss as a tourist. Some great architecture. And a bit of history. This tour was no different. Admittedly, I enjoy d it more than my wife or daughters but if you start off with the right expectations I think this tour and others like it are great.
The tour guide was very friendly, considerate (ensuring we all stayed together and were safe), and knowledgeable. She encouraged interaction and answered questions patiently, However, it would have helped if we were able to access the interiors of buildings and see the "location" of potential sightings as that would have added greater authenticity. Having some characters dressed up as ghosts and run by screaming to add flavour to the atmosphere, may be considered if the logistics allow.
Tour guide very good but trip quite boring and not scary at all Felt like it was made up The fort Henry haunted tour is much better
Our family loved every minute of this haunted walk, especially my 10 year old! Rebecca was absolutely wonderful! Her delivery of the spooky stories was engaging, atmospheric, and thoroughly entertaining.
The experience was “meh”. I didn’t feel like our guide was really into the tour all that much….minimal talking and story-telling… mostly expressionless. Nice person, just not really a good fit based on personality.
Karma gave us such an informative tour. Her costume was so appropriate, ghost stories so compelling! I couldn't believe it was her first tour of the season. The Keewatin ship was an amazing recreation of the times. My husband's dad, Gordon Elliott was a waiter on this ship in the late 30s for 3 years while he was in university. Our granddaughter (age 10) loved it too!
What an amazing experience. Our guide was remarkable! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was definitely creepy and excellent value! Looking forward to doing the Queens Tour next visit.
These ghost walk pin buttons are so spirited, they’ll haunt your jacket in the most boo-tiful way! Liam, our spook-tacular guide, absolutely rocked it every step of the way. He brought the eerie tales to life and patiently answered all our questions … spooky or not! The Haunted Walk Kingston was a frightfully fantastic experience, blending chills and thrills with Liam’s stellar storytelling. Highly recommend for anyone ready to step into the supernatural!
Liam was an excellent tour guide, very personable and amazing at telling the stories/history of Kingston. I look forward to doing all the other tours.
It is a nice experience, I would have rather go there in the summer time. The coldnest made it rather hard to appreciate the stories, but the staff were lovely and kind. Later that night we had fun with joking around with the stories and making them real.
My daughter booked this tour on a visit to Kingston, thinking I'd like an historical/scary outing and she was right! Chip, our guide, really played their role well (walking along with the lantern held just so), telling great ghost stories and giving us snippets of Kingston's history. The fact that it was dark & cold made it even more realistic. Somehow, certain things coincided with the tour like lights turning off and people happening upon us...made it even more fun!
On November 2nd 2024, I decided to go on the Haunted Walk of Kingston original tour for a first date. When we arrived at the walks starting point 15 minutes early (as per the company’s request) we were immediately greeted by the evenings tour guide, Liam. He took our information, confirmed we were on the list and was happy to answer any questions and make conversation with us. The walk had around 20 people, 3 dogs and took 75 minutes. Liam walked his tour group to different spots around historic downtown Kingston, regaling us with spooky and historic stories. The stories were sourced, well articulated and riveting. All in all, it was an excellent experience and a lovely idea for a first date. P. S. Liam ensured that the group navigated the city safely, was happy to take pictures, and was an overall friendly and effective story teller. Walking conditions were easy, mostly on sidewalks. Consider dressing weather appropriate as the entire tour is outdoors.
Picture this: a group of brave souls, following a young student draped in a cape, as she fearlessly leads us through the darkened street of the Queen's Campus. With each step, she unveils spine-chilling stories of ghostly encounters, making us question whether that cold draft was just a draft or a ghostly presence trying to say 'hi'. But it wasn't all screams and goosebumps! Our guide was like a beacon of knowledge, shining light on the darkest corners of campus lore. Questions were fired at her like ghostly orbs, and she handled them with the expertise of a seasoned paranormal investigator... or maybe just a really dedicated student with a knack for storytelling.
