Humberstone Ranch Visit With Mini Domestic Animals

We were so pleasantly surprised by intimacy of the experience - they really prioritize interaction with the animals, telling and showing first how to pet them in the way that they like before allowing you to do the same. By doing this they let you have really special experiences with the animals that feel more like a real connection because you get to know what the animals like. I was surprised to discover that the sheep were my favourite! They were so calm and sweet. They also had baby lambs that we could hold. The guide and the owner were so kind and patient and well informed.

Mike was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He remembered names of people in our group and was very accommodating to a disabled child in a wheelchair to help make her experience as enjoyable as could be! He knows his animals and their likes and dislikes. It was an interactive experience.

It was a great day to spend with my 6 year old granddaughter.Just long enough to hold her attention(1hr) We got to pet and feed several of the animals and she especially loved the bunnies

Very nice small ranch not far from the fall. We were able to pet and feed the animals. Recommended for family with small children as the animals are all very petable. We had coffee and a very nice Conversation with the owner. A very peaceful and relaxing place to visit.

Stellar experience, from the people to all the animals. It’s so clear the animals here are well loved and taken care of, and spoiled too. I’m always concerned about animal welfare when booking experiences that involve animals and being sure I’m supporting places that do not exploit their animals for profit. Humberstone Ranch goes out of their way to make sure each individual animal is happy and comfortable at all times. As we visited each area, we saw that all the animals had lots of space to roam. The animals that wanted to say hi would come up to us on their own terms, and those that didn’t kept to themselves without any pressure to come join us. Our guide, I believe her name was Emma, was fantastic and kept us well informed. She let us know where each individual animal did and didn’t like to be pet, and how to best interact with them. This place is fantastic and all the animals are super well cared for and loved. We would love to come back at some point! For the experience we got, we definitely should’ve paid so much more.

Mike showed us a good time, he was very informative and kept us interested and laughing the entire time.

We had an amazing time. Took my wife and 2 year old. Being able to feed the animals, pet them, and even hold a goat and a bunny at the end made this hands on experience amazing. One tip of advice tho - wear rubber boots as there’s lots of mud where the animals are

We had the most incredible experience at Humberstone Ranch, truly one of the most meaningful and memorable parts of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, the environment felt so welcoming, peaceful, and genuine. Being able to interact so closely with the animals was unforgettable. We saw pigs, goats, rabbits, free-roaming geese and turkeys, mini horses, and even longhorned cows. Everything felt so natural and hands-on, not rushed or staged in any way. Yes, we got dirty but honestly, that made the experience even better. It felt real, immersive, and completely worth it. It brought out a sense of joy and connection that you don’t often. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was Mike. Mike was absolutely amazing from start to finish. His energy, kindness, and passion stood out immediately. He was incredibly knowledgeable especially when sharing history about cowboys and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. It felt like being guided by someone who truly cares about both the animals and the people visiting. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time, constantly checking in and creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. One moment that really stuck with me was when he let me borrow his jacket, such a small gesture, but it meant so much and really shows the kind of person he is. You can feel the heart behind everything here. The way the animals are cared for, the way guests are treated, and the overall experience all reflect a level of thoughtfulness that is rare to find. We loved this so much that we are honestly coming back again before our vacation is even over. Thank you, Mike, for creating such a genuine, joyful, and unforgettable experience. We will absolutely be recommending this to anyone and everyone.

Our visit to Humberstone Ranch was one of the highlights of our time in Canada. We had plenty of time to interact with each of the animals and enjoy the scenery. The cost was affordable, it was easy to find, and the experience itself was unlike anything we've ever done together. If you're visiting Niagara, you MUST include this on your itinerary!

We had the best time ever. We was greeted by Mike he was so friendly and very personable. The farm is very hand's on and the animals are well taken care of and very loved. It was snowing and just a great experience. It was well worth the money. The geese are so friendly and cute. All the animals are friendly and eager to let you show them love ❤️ We would definitely visit again. It was one of the best experiences of our trip.

Visiting Humberstone Ranch was truly the highlight of my trip to Niagara. It was an amazing hour spent with the sweetest animals. Mike (the tour guide and co-owner) was the best, he provided so much information about the animals and made sure everyone was safe and had a good experience. This is not a private tour. It is a group tour. Although I did enjoy the visit , the only tiny animal was the "tiny horses" - all the other animals were regular size.

We had such a great visit to Humberstone Ranch. We loved it all. The bunnies were adorable and the goats super social. Wilbur and Charlotte the pigs were especially glad for the attention from our group. Mike the host is super attentive and made the experience so much fun!! Our second visit to Humberstone Ranch was as wonderful as our first earlier this year. We had such a great time with our granddaughter from Ontario that we decided to go again with our two granddaughters from Halifax and their parents. Such a great experience and Mike (the co-owner) is the best guide ever!

Just took my four grandchildren ( ages 7, 4, 4 and 3) and we all had a great time. Mike was a wonderful host and put everyone at ease with the animals. Well worth a visit.

This was the best ranch experience I’ve ever had! Mike our tour guide was so friendly and educational and the animals were so well behaved! We went with two other groups and Mike made sure to include everyone equally with feeding and petting the animals no one was left out. Would 100% recommend a visit!

The farm is amazing. So many animals. We went with two kids and it was a very good experience. And Mike(owner) is the cherry on top. Do not forget to meet Rachel, the Canadian goose.

It was so much fun. We had our tour with Mike, one of the owners. He is funny and explains about the animals. You are not rushed at all. I loved Wilbur the pig , scratches puts him to sleep.

This tour was an absolutely surreal experience, and I'm not even sure how to put into words the incredible time I had. My friend and I booked a one-hour tour with Mike, and it turned out to be the best hour of my life. Initially, I was quite nervous because I tend to panic when things go wrong, but Mike took the time to explain in great detail how the animals watch for cues on your behavior. You can easily tell that every animal we visited was genuinely cared for and loved. They were incredibly friendly, and there was such a wide variety of them to explore. Mike is an amazing person—so friendly and attentive. He made the experience ten times better by allowing us to be in the moment instead of rushing me around. He consistently encouraged us to pet the animals and take pictures, showing genuine enthusiasm. Mike is a big family man, and his wife and son were his favorite topics of conversation, which I adored. This made us feel truly welcome and like part of the family. We had such a great time. Jane was our tour guide. She was very kind and knowledgeable. We took our 2 year old son and he loved it.

The visit at the farm was wonderful. Jane was a very nice and knowledgeable host. Rachel the goose was a blast to visit with. Wilbur, the pig loved his belly rubs. The horses were very cool and the goats were quite inquisitive.

My sister and I went and we had the best day ever. The hospitality from Michael was just amazing all the way down to his business partner James and the staff. They truly enjoy giving you that farm experience with the animals. By far the best experience ever and definitely made friends for life. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes and long pants for your safety. It is definitely worth the experience.

A great experience that our kids loved! Our guide was kind, funny, and informative. The lattes and hot chocolate at the end was unexpected but much appreciated! We would recommend to anyone.

James & Jane from the moment we arrived brought the smiles & comfort to our family as we walked up to the farm. James introduced us to the Farm & Jane provided the tour (along with some chatty turkeys for a bit), Jane is a delight to walk around with as she really adores the Farm animals, is knowledgeable about them & patient with our rapid fire random questions (from the kids & adults) as well as navigating a rude Goose that was watching us & keeping us off his land. She really made it feel like we showed up at a friends house, the kids LOVED this tour, LOVED the turkeys & my daughter cried she had to leave her hot coco behind (so much so we left with it in our yeti we happened to have in the car) - the end of the comfort coco & chill with a quick sit, hang out & talk is a nice touch. We highly recommend this off the beaten path, family friendly, beautiful farm tour. It was a treat, and gem of a beautiful afternoon. Thank you James & Jane. - New Jersey.

A great, off-the-beaten-path experience during a visit to Niagara Falls. They were super friendly and welcoming. The kids loved getting up close and personal with the animals. You could tell that these farm animals were like extended members of the family. Having a small, personalized experience was an added bonus.

Wow! What a day we had at Humberstone Ranch. This place truly is a gem. From calling Mike and having to say we would be a few minutes late, to having a 2 and a half hour private tour, we received nothing but kindness and love from the ranch! Great experience, a must-do for any farm animal lover! We got to feed cows, bunnies and goats. Also got to brush a horse. My son and I both had a great time on this farm tour.

I came across this business online and was so excited to take my kids and a few friends during March break. I thought at the very least it would be a nice day outdoors. But wow! The whole experience completely exceeded my expectations. Mike (the owner) was so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable from the second we arrived. He even got some boots for one of the boys who got dropped off and was only wearing sneakers. It was such an immersive experience, we got to feed, pet and interact with so many animals. Mike made us feel very comfortable around the animals, by explaining what to do and not to do around them. He answered all of our questions and told us so much about the farm and the animals. At the end of our tour he invited us in for the fanciest hot chocolates and lattes. Coming to this place feels like visiting family we are already talking about when we can go again! My kids said it was the best day!!!

My kids loved the animals and were so excited. We saw horses, cows, sheep, ducks, and the cat. But what we loved most was the service, the latte, and the hot chocolate for my kids. We love this farm! Thanks for everything, Mike! Your farm is beautiful.

The animals here are not only well cared for but also have the most charming names—Dolly and Reba the cows, Wilbur and Charlotte the pigs—it was like meeting a cast of characters, each with their own distinct personality. Our kids (2 years and 6 months) absolutely adored feeding and petting them, and we were amazed by how gentle and patient the animals were. Even when our baby started crying, the horses remained calm and unbothered—a true testament to their sweet nature. Beyond the animals, the ranch offers one-of-a-kind activities you won’t find anywhere else in the area. From learning how to lasso to trying out horseback riding, there’s something for everyone. Such a GEM!! We were looking for something to do on a winter day and stumbled across Humberstone Ranch on Groupon. We live in Buffalo so this is only about a short 45 min ride for us. The fact that you can visit a farm - in winter - and interact with the animals is AMAZING! This isn’t just some petting zoo, the owner (nicest man on the planet btw) allows you to feed, brush, enter the enclosure, hold or pet the animals depending on which - and we had so much fun!! There are rabbits, longhorn cows, goats, ducks, geese, horses and these little adorable hairy pigs. I legit got to PICK UP a goat and sit with her on my lap, petting her for so long! The animals are so well taken care of, you can tell they run this ranch with love or animals and wanting to share that experience with others. 💯 going back and spreading the word to everyone - great little day trip for families or couples. Plus between Port Colborne and the US bridge there are so many places to stop and eat - make a day of it!!

Mike was very kind and welcoming from the very beginning, all the staff were on the ranch. You can tell all the animals on the ranch are very loved and taken care on the ranch. My cousin and I went for some animal therapy and we definitely got it at Humberstone ranch!! We were even able to hold one of their goats! absolutely going back in the warmer weather bringing other friends and family!

Today my daughter, granddaughter and I had a wonderful day visiting Humberstone Ranch and it was an unforgettable experience . From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm hospitality and a true taste of farm life. The highlight of the visit was being able to interact with the adorable farm animals. The Canada geese were an unexpected pleasure ❤️ The farm itself is beautiful with rolling fields,fresh air and such a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable explaining about farm life that was educational and fun. I fully recommend visiting this wonderful ranch.

We decided to surprise our kids with a Winter Farm visit. We found this lovely location via a websearch, and we are so glad we did! When I called to book a time for our visit, Mike was extremely accommodating. We timed it during a beautiful sunny day with heaps of fresh snow. When we arrived at the ranch, Mike welcomed us and directed us where to park. We were in awe of how gorgeous the property is, and how amazingly well cared for all of the animals are. As our kids are fairly young (6 and 3), Mike was extremely patient to explain the safety guidelines at each station and helped our little ones get comfortable with the animals. It was a lot of fun for us grown-ups as well, getting to feed and interact with the amazing animals and to hear their stories/learn new information about their breed that Mike shared with us. Following the tour, we were served some warm drinks (the kids had what they referred to as "the yummiest hot chocolate ever") accompanied by a lovely chat with Mike to get to know more about the ranch and its budding history. Higly recommended if you are in the area to check out this ranch tour!

Mike gave an exceptional tour of his ranch - aside from the great animal experience, he welcomed me and my girlfriend with open arms. I would highly recommend visiting - holding the goats was something my girlfriend and I never experienced in Toronto/GTA, and Mike is a great host as well!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Humberstone Ranch. Wonderful hospitality where everyone felt welcomed the second we pulled into the driveway. The grounds are very well kept and the animal interactions were amazing. They took the time to share their stories, experience and knowledge throughout the tour and we ended it off with some of the best hot chocolate and lattes around! We will definitely be back.

It was so amazingly clean and well organized. Animals were all healthy and friendly. Staff was knowledgeable, super friendly, didn't feel rushed. So enjoyable and lots of opportunities for petting and holding animals!
