Sir Sam's Inn & Waterspa - Adults Only

Sir Sam's is our little get away every year. We love the location, Eagle Lake is great and the whole place is very peaceful and serene. The staff is very good but be prepared to manage your stay a bit. In spite of the advising I wouldn't consider this a luxury resort. The spa, indoor salt pool is my favorite and the meals are very good although a bit over priced. Do not expect room service or even cleaning unless you request it, and if you need toilet paper, you'll need to trek to the main desk Now for th reason for the lower score, the rooms. They are badly in need of upgrading and more than a coat of paint. The infrastructure is badly in need of maintenance. The tap water was increasingly yellow as our week progressed and the foundation of our cottage had a huge crack and was leaning. I understand the inn is under new corporate ownership. I sincerely hope they are prepared to maintain and develop this property while maintaining everything that makes it special.

Sir Sams was very nice. The salt water pool was great. Unfortunately, we were not able to use the outdoor pool and, because of inclement weather, enjoy the lake very much. The food was hit and miss. I would not recommend any of the eggs benedict offerings. The steaks however were very good. Every person working at Sir Sams were exceptionally nice and good at their work.

My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary. I was pleasantly surprised that he had booked us a cabin. The resort is dated but we didn’t mind at all. The cabin was clean and so cozy. We had a lake view and a jacuzzi tub!. The estate is absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing which is exactly what we were looking for. We finished the night listening to live music and sitting beside the fire looking out at the still lake. The staff were very welcoming, kind and friendly! Next time I would stay 2 nights so we could enjoy the pool and lake!

Our 8th trip here and look forward to many more. As others have mentioned things a very old classic lodge. Its not a 5 star pristine new resort and doesn't pretend to be so if your looking to be pampered and have a pillow menu at night this may not be for you. For us its been perfect. The owners and staff are friendly down to earth people who enjoy talking to you. The location is second to none, the outdoor pool that the owner Ryan has named Frank is clean and fresh and the lake is simply perfect. Great breakfast, friendly staff, non pretentious fellow guests keep us coming back each year. We come for the surroundings, the nature, swimming, hiking, wildlife etc. We have stayed at 5 star resorts, some good some bad but always feel so welcomed at Sir Sams. You wont find a better sunset anywhere!!
