We were very happy with our stay at Harbour House Hotel. We always love hotels that accommodate our boy, especially when the rooms are equipped with dog-friendly things like bowls and treats. The room was beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful and the location is super quaint and peaceful. We hope to visit again in the future.

This is a very nice hotel within walking distance of downtown and the fort. The shuttle available in the evenings was a nice way to get to dinner quickly then have a leisurely stroll back to the hotel. My only suggestions are that a dresser for clothes would be nice as the small piece under the TV was too small and the drawers did not work. Also, a normal sized mug and teabags in the rooms would be nice.
As someone who works in hospitality and frequently stays in boutique hotels, I arrived at Harbour House with my wife and baby daughter with fairly high expectations based on its reputation and reviews. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short. Upon arrival, the front desk experience felt cold and disinterested. While assistance with luggage is certainly not expected, basic warmth and engagement are. We had also requested a crib in advance, but none had been placed in the room prior to our arrival. The following morning reinforced the feeling that guests were more of an inconvenience than a priority. At breakfast, we arrived before another group of guests, yet they were seated ahead of us without explanation. It was a small moment, but one that contributed to an overall feeling of being unwelcome. The checkout experience was perhaps the most disappointing. The front desk agent remained on the phone, briefly stating that a receipt would be emailed, with no inquiry about our stay, no thank you for visiting, and no farewell. Hospitality is often defined by these small interactions, and throughout our stay those touches were consistently absent. Hotels can have beautiful buildings, comfortable rooms, and excellent amenities, but hospitality is ultimately about making people feel welcome. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at Harbour House. I left feeling disappointed and I cannot recommend the property based on the service we received and will not be returning.
This is a wonderful small hotel. The service is good and the location is perfect. The rooms are all unique and are well appointed. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because long term cleaning is not done. The room paint is a little worn and there is dust and dirt in the tops of baseboards and the grout in the bathroom tiles is patchy grey and dirty in some spots. Understand that the rooms are very nice and better than most hotels out there. However, to be a truly excellent hotel they need to do more to keep all the paint perfect, all the tiles pristine, and all the dirt from collecting on baseboards. Although the furnishings are intended to be classic, some are overly worn and need to be refurbished. Note I gave 4 stars and I will definitely stay here again as I have 3 or 4 times in the past, but to be perfect a bit more maintenance is needed.
What a first-class experience from check-in to checkout! The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, and every member of the staff made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. We spent over a week here. Each one took the time every day to offer thoughtful recommendations that helped us get the very most out of our visit! We wouldn’t have discovered half of what we did without their guidance. This is a Hallmark hotel in a charming little Hallmark town. We can’t wait to come back!
