One of the Worst Hotel Experiences We’ve Ever Had This was an absolutely terrible experience from beginning to end. We were staying at this hotel as a wedding party, and the way our group was handled was completely unacceptable. Despite being part of the same wedding party, our guests were booked on completely different floors, making it extremely inconvenient for everyone. When we tried to address the issue before and during our stay, we even emailed the booking coordinator directly about the room arrangements and the problems with our group booking — and received absolutely no response. Not even the courtesy of an acknowledgment or an attempt to resolve the situation. The lack of communication was incredibly frustrating. We trusted the hotel to properly organize accommodations for our wedding party, but instead we were left to deal with the mess ourselves. Then we discovered what appeared to be mold on the pillow in the room. This is beyond unacceptable. Guests should never have to question whether the bed they are sleeping on is clean or sanitary. Finding mold on a pillow is a serious cleanliness issue and shows a shocking lack of attention to basic hotel standards. The parking situation was another nightmare. The key cards were not working properly for the parking area, creating even more frustration when we were simply trying to come and go from the hotel. Something as basic as parking access should not be this difficult. What should have been a special and memorable wedding weekend turned into a stressful and disappointing experience because of poor organization, terrible communication, unacceptable cleanliness, and malfunctioning facilities. The complete lack of response from the booking coordinator was especially disappointing. If a hotel is going to offer group and wedding bookings, it should have staff who actually communicate with guests and take responsibility when problems arise. Overall, this hotel seriously failed when it came to customer service and basic accommodations. We expected much better and received the complete opposite. I would strongly think twice before booking here, especially for a wedding or group event. We definitely will not be returning.

What a fantastic hotel! From the moment I arrived, I was extremely impressed. My room was on the 14th floor, and the view was absolutely breathtaking — overlooking the beautiful golf course, pool, and surrounding Ottawa area. The entire hotel is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. One of the highlights for me was the jazz bar — awesome atmosphere and a great place to relax and enjoy the evening. Everything about my stay was first class. If you’re visiting Ottawa and looking for a beautiful hotel with great amenities, incredible views, and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend the Brookstreet Hotel. I would definitely stay here again!
We did like this hotel. Rooms are nice. Our view was okay but my parents room had a beautiful view. Pools and gym were amazing. The shuttle service was awesome. Would definitely go back.
Very nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Only thing that sucked was getting to the pool. You have to go through the gym, down a hallway and an elevator. No direct elevator access from your room. Makes for a long akward walk in your swim trunks with the kids past people at the gym. Please build easier pool access. Underground parking is nice abd fits a full size SUV.
The hotel lobby, rooms, and grounds are very nice, and the pool itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, the overall experience came with a lot of unnecessary frustration. First, the parking situation was disappointing. The hotel charges for parking even though there appears to be plenty of space on the property, and there is free parking nearby. When I asked reception to remove the parking charge because I had decided to park off the hotel grounds, the clerk sarcastically asked whether I had decided to leave my car at home. When I clarified that I parked elsewhere, he said, “Well, I hope you won’t get a ticket.” I asked why I would get a ticket if parking there is permitted, and he said that it is allowed, but “you can never know.” This felt unhelpful and unnecessary. It would be much better to simply include parking in the room rate rather than creating frustration for guests. Second, while the pool area is very nice, accessing it is surprisingly inconvenient. There is a door from the lobby that appears to lead directly toward the pool area, but guests are required to take a long and confusing route instead. You have to go to level 2, enter through the spa, walk through the gym, take another elevator back down to level 1 to reach the indoor pool, then go outside and walk farther to reach the outdoor pool. You also need to enter a code from the spa, which felt unnecessary given the hotel’s location and setting. Overall, the property itself is attractive, but the guest experience could be much better. The hotel seems to create avoidable inconveniences around simple things like parking and pool access, which made the stay more frustrating than relaxing.
