*UPDATE – October 15, 2026: STILL NO REFUND, DESPITE THE HOTEL’S PUBLIC RESPONSE* After repeatedly ignoring my messages and attempts to contact them, the hotel finally responded — but only after I published this negative review on Booking.com. The Guest Services Manager, Min Qiu, publicly apologized, acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, and promised to personally investigate the unauthorized charge and ensure that any outstanding refund would be resolved immediately. Unfortunately, these promises have led to absolutely nothing. I contacted Visa directly, and they informed me that the attempted refund was rejected by the hotel’s own system. This means the money never actually left the hotel, and no refund is on its way to my account. Despite this information, I have continued contacting the hotel, providing evidence and requesting an explanation. Once again, I have received no response and no resolution. It is extremely disappointing that the hotel seems willing to respond publicly to protect its reputation, yet continues to ignore the actual problem privately. I am now preparing to file formal complaints with the appropriate consumer protection authorities in Canada. I want future guests to be aware that, even after publicly promising to resolve this issue immediately, Arc The Hotel has still not returned my money. An apology means very little when it is not followed by action. *********************************** Unexpected charges, no refund, and absolutely no response from the hotel I had a very disappointing experience with Arc The Hotel. I booked a two-night stay, from Friday to Sunday, through Booking.com for a total of USD 831.41. However, I ended up being charged USD 1,415.11, almost USD 600 more than the amount stated in my reservation. At checkout, the hotel provided me with a printed receipt showing only two charges, totaling CAD 1,260.22. However, a third charge was also made to my card, which was not reflected anywhere on the receipt. When I questioned this additional charge, I was assured that it would be refunded to my card. Unfortunately, that refund never arrived. I do want to highlight one positive aspect of our stay: the Chilean front desk employee who welcomed us at check-in was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful to my family and me. Unfortunately, she wasn’t working when we checked out, so we couldn’t speak with her about the unexplained additional charge. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication. I have repeatedly tried to contact the hotel to clarify these charges and request my refund, but nobody has responded or provided any explanation. Paying over USD 1,400 for just two nights, when my confirmed reservation was for USD 831.41, is absolutely unacceptable. I strongly recommend checking your bank statements carefully if you stay at this hotel. Despite the wonderful service we received from that particular employee, I cannot recommend this property. Unexpected charges, an unfulfilled promise of a refund, and a complete lack of customer service afterward are simply unacceptable.

This was barely 3 star motel quality hotel. The only good thing about this property was a location. We stay there for 2 nights. Our room was very small, shower products low quality, old worn out towels very rough. Water pressure in the shower low. After first sleepless night we had to turn AC off. The unit was right beside the bed on the window, very loud and was blowing ice cold air all night right on the face.On top of everything there was constant humming from somewhere in the room. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from. And if you have any mobility issues or disability like my husband stay clear of this place. There is stairs to get to the hotel and he has to straggle to get in and out of the place all the time. Besides,we had paid $34/day for parking which was behind garbage cans at the back of the building. No we won't be recommending this accommodation to anyone. Specifically person with mobility issues.
Room was decent, clean. Bed is really comfortable. Fridge isn't very cold. They list parking as "available" on Expedia, and you have to click on the hotel for more information to learn you have to pay for parking. Which was $34, then they charge me an additional $14.99 "sustainability fee" which wasn't disclosed. $110 for parking after taxes for two days is ridiculous. Miscellaneous fees taking the cost of the stay to over $500 for two nights was disappointing.
We loved our room, although you can tell it could use a little remodeling. The carpet is all slumped up with the years of usage, the furniture is used. However, our favorite part of our sweet was the bathtub, it was huge and could fit the both of us and the beds were very clean and cozy. We recommend this hotel 💯% if you're a traveler only looking for good sleep and a nice bath after exploring the city
Great location. Easy walking distance to Parliament Hill and not too far from the Byward Market area. The room (Premier King) was quite small but adequate and quiet. We found the bed and pillows were comfortable. The closet needs a light. We had to use flashlights to look through clothes and shoes, and the safe was useless without a flashlight. The bathroom is very small and has one light hanging over the sink. The position of the hanging light is awkward for use of the mirror, eg makeup. Better lighting, including the shower would be appreciated. Our package included breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The eggs Benedict was excellent. All staff were friendly and professional. Parking requires going down a very narrow side alley. We were able to find a parking spot each night but had to park in a huge puddle one evening, ~2cm deep. There is low hanging ductwork so you have to watch out to avoid hitting your head. You also have to walk back along the narrow alley to get from the parking garage to the hotel. I was always concerned about encountering a car coming in along that alley but we were lucky.
