What a special day our group of 11 had in Katakolon and Olympia. Charis is an enthusiastic guide, using great humor to tell stories and share information. We had a driver and nicely equipped Mercedes mini bus to get us around. The highlight was a visit to the site of ancient Olympia. Charis found us a great licensed guide, Nikos, who made the site and its history come to life for us. We ended our day at the Olive Temple learning why Olive Oil not only tastes good but is good for us! Just a perfect day in every way! Highly recommended.

From our pickup at Killini port to our trip to Olympia and then finally the vineyard, both my partner and I were amazed and delighted with our experience. Our guide was Stathos, who went out of his way to explain the rich history of Greece and went above and beyond our expectations. We cannot recommend this tour enough!
We had a great time! Our tour guide, Tina, and driver, George, were both amazing! Communication ahead of time was clear and the team was very accommodating with our requests. The tour itself was very entertaining and informative and the stops were great! We are on an Adriatic & Greek Isles cruise and this tour was the best experience/excursion and reasonably priced. Our group couldnt say enough great things about Tina and the sites we saw. I would definitely recommend.
Mr Stathis Paraskeuopoulos was a kind, detail-oriented, and responsible guide. He went above and beyond to ensure that we could fully enjoy our first visit to Ancient Olympia. We highly recommend his services and look forward to returning soon.
Very nice experience up early and beat the crowds. Panos was a great driver and great conversation explaining the area. Bee Honey tour was awesome and educational. Panos then took us to cliff side restaurant overlooking the sea and food was outstanding. A very beautiful experience. I would use Panos as driver again.
The transfers worked fairly well but it was a bit hard to follow the archaelogic site information. His booklet worked somewhat to better identify and we loved the honey farm tour as it was very special meeting the family that owned business.
Stathis, our driver and now our friend, made the day so incredibly delightful. We felt cared for and safe in his hands. He was knowledgeable and pleasant, making sure we had a wonderful experience in Olympia. Highly recommend the service - if you’re lucky, you’ll get Stathis, too!
If you are visiting Olympia, booking with Stathis is an absolute must. From start to finish, his local expertise, warmth, and genuine hospitality made this one of the absolute best stops of our entire Greek vacation. Stathis timed our day flawlessly. Thanks to his intimate knowledge of the area, we were able to see all the major sights right at the best moments, completely bypassing the massive tourist crowds. Beyond being an exceptional guide, he is an amazingly kind and thoughtful host. He made sure our whole group had a great time and paid extra-special attention to our 8-year-old son, even bringing him homemade cookies that he absolutely loved! To top off his incredible generosity, Stathis gifted us a bottle of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, claiming it was the best in Greece—and after trying it back home, we can confirm he wasn't wrong! We ended our tour at an authentic Greek restaurant right on the water that Stathis recommended. Getting to take a quick swim in the sea before sitting down to an incredible meal was the perfect finale to a wonderful day. Stathis's personality, deep expertise, and over-the-top kindness made this experience unforgettable. We cannot recommend him highly enough!
We had a great day out with Stathis. Communication and planning before the trip were excellent. We were collected from just outside of our cruise ship and dropped back off in the same place. We visited Olympus which was very interesting. We were given the option of visiting a small holding bee farm at an extra cost of Euro 12 each, we agreed to this and found it very interesting and worthwhile. We also went to an olive oil production place which was also interesting - there was no additonal cost. Status also offered to take us to a beautiful beach and had brought towels just in case. We didnt go as it was very hot and we were getting tired by this point. Stathis couldnt have been a better guide and i would recommend him and this trip. He also gave us a bottle of local wine which was a nice touch too. We learned a lot about the local area which was appreciated too
This was what we were looking for. Niko was a friendly, informative guide while we drove. We toured Olympia and the museum on our own and then went to a cool olive oil farm for tasting. Ended at a recommended restaurant walking distance to the pier. We liked that we could customize it on the fly. Thank you for a lovely visit Niko!
Nancy was a gem. Everyone of the 14 of us enjoyed the whole trip. We are so glad that we didn't skip the honey farm. Klios was so informative and personable. Well done!!!
The tour was an excellent balance of history sites and engaging activity. Our tour guide Tina was excellent; knowledgeable, funny, and kind. She was very flexible to our requests and made the whole day stress free. George was the driver and our van (specifically the AC) was great and safe. We highly recommend this tour and specifically our guide.
My family had an excellent time on our tour with Stathis. He was so thoughtful and bought us the most delicious cappuccinos at the start of the tour. He was very friendly and happy to talk with us about history and way of life in Greece. Everything went smoothly at Olympia, including the museum and the archaeological site. He took us to a honey farm, which we enjoyed. Our favorite part was the lovely beach that he took us to which had comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas, and amazing warm and clear water. We also had the best meal we had on our entire vacation which he ordered for us and was very reasonably priced. We would book with him again in a heartbeat.
We had a very enjoyable half-day tour of Olympia. Our driver/guide was friendly, funny, and very personable, which made the experience relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. He was knowledgeable about the history and area, shared interesting information throughout the tour, and was always happy to answer questions. What we appreciated most was how down-to-earth and approachable he was. He kept things engaging without overwhelming us with too much information and did a great job making everyone feel comfortable. Olympia is an important historical site and well worth visiting, and having a guide with a good sense of humor and a genuine passion for what he does made the experience even better. We’re glad we chose this tour and would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and informative introduction to Olympia.
Stathis is so welcoming and knowledgeable. He made sure our tour fit our expectations and group. He gave us history and beautiful sites and food. Half a day was not long enough. Olympia is amazing with the museum, site and food.
Stathis is so much fun. He is very knowledgeable and gives you options along your tour. He personalizes based on the group. He guided us to an amazing restaurant on the beach. Highly suggest booking with him.
Excellent driver and visit - was very accommodating and flexible. Learned about the region during the drive to and from Olympia. The honey farm was beautiful and such a sweet generational family. Definitely meets the big tours - download the audio guide for Olympia in advance - then no guide needed in there.
Had a wonderful time with Tina and George. A member of our party had some mobility issues and both George and Tina did a wonderful job navigating the sites so we didn’t have to push the wheelchair further than we needed. Tina did a wonderful adjusting to our groups needs. George did a wonderful job getting us where we needed to be. Highly recommend!
I had a wonderful tour guide who had great knowledge about the history of the sites and took us to great places that we never knew about.
The private tour was the best choice, Tina made sure we saw everything we wanted to and that the day ran very smoothly. We skipped lines, tasted the local specialties and experienced the best of Olympia. Tina and Costa made us feel very welcome!
We had a delightful private tour with George in his personal vehicle. He took us to the usual museum sites of Olympia and saw the ruins where the first Olympian’s competed. We also especially enjoyed the visit to the honey farm and he added in a visit to ann olive oil pressing facility for that region. It was quite interesting and very helpful for understanding the economy in that region and how olive oil is created. George was enthusiastic and really wanted us to have a great experience!
Advertised as a driver/guide. Though it said the guide couldn't go into Olympia archeology center with us, we thought it was because they weren't allowed only to find out he wasn't licensed as a guide and that's why he couldn't go in. He was just a taxi driver. He Didn't tell us anything about any history at all and just asked us a lot of personal questions about ourselves. I don't recommend this tour at all.
I hate to leave this review, but as someone who reads reviews before I buy or book anything, I felt it is my duty. First of all there are 9 of us in our group. Youngest is 9, oldest is 77 and a range in between. Pro: 1. Great What's app communication prior to and up to the meeting time. 2. The guide (Andreas) and driver (Hercules) met us with my name as stated. 3. They were on time, the van was clean and maintained. 4. They brought several umbrellas for us, because it was a rainy day. 5. Andreas is a very nice man. 6. I liked the honey farm, but you have to pay 5 euros per person and I swear it said no charge before. CONS: 1. Andreas did not introduce himself to us, I had to ask him his name. 2. We were hot and I had to prompt them to turn the AC on several times. 3. Andreas told us about himself, he owns an olive farm, his kids etc. But not much else. The ride was in silence for a great portion. 4. At Olympia, I didn't get any book as stated in the description. 5. Andreas didn't tell us anything about it either, as stated in the description. Going to the archaelogical site is not much fun not knowing what you're looking at and the site itself doesn't have much to read to tell you about what you're looking at. 6. They didn't offer us any waters. 7. They took us to an olive oil processor which was not on the itinerary, but we liked that. 8. They did not take us to the beach as stated in the description, but we were fine with that, we just wanted to get out of the van because of the awkward silence. I would not recommend this tour due to the CONS. I have had great guides before so I know what one looks like. I read the reviews and some people had Andreas or someone with the same name, and that Andreas seemed spectacular. Maybe we had a different one.
"Our day with Stathis was simply perfect! He was knowledgeable, professional, and made every stop special - from Olympia to the honey bee farm and olive press company, ending with a delicious lunch by the sea at Agios Andreas Beach. We couldn't have asked for a better or more attentive guide who deserves many more stars than five!!!!!!!
Stasis was an excellent driver and guide for our group of four. He not only took us to Olympia ( with hints to make it a better experience), but also to some places only locals would know about, like Klios Honey farm ( a small family run business). He shared a lot of information about the Greek people and their lifestyles, especially the local people. This was an amazing tour and I highly recommend it.
Tina and our driver were very professional, friendly, informative and knowledgeable about the area. Our family really enjoyed our tour.
A great excursion. Nancy was so nice and informative. She shared much information about Katakalon and the surrounding areas. Olympia was very interesting and great to see where the Olympics began and continue to begin. Klios Honey Farm was great! We loved hearing about the family business and master beekeeping. Nancy then brought us to beachfront family run restaurant for a traditional Greek meal. She gave us the option of this or a hotel “higher end” restaurant but we chose traditional family run. Highly recommend.
Loved that we could tailor the amount of time based on our preferences, however, you really need a tour guide for the archeological site. It was simply too hard to figure what things were from the book we were given for a self guided tour.
Our guide was excellent! We chose this over the more expensive shore excursions available from our cruise. It worked out really well. We loved chatting with our driver, Stathis. He was so nice, shared interesting information, and knew exactly what would be fun for us. He watched the time and made sure he brought us back in time to shop a little before embarking upon the boat again.
Stathis was a super friendly and super knowledgeable private Tour Guide. He provided us a well balanced tour of the sites. We went to Lunch at PHEIA and it was outstanding ! 10 stars for Stathis !!!
Status is an excellent tour guide! We we to the ancient ruins, to a lovely honey farm and a wonderful Greek restaurant/hotel along the water. We would highly recommend using him for sight seeing!
We had the absolute pleasure of being guided by Tina during our visit to Olympia, and we cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the very beginning, Tina was exceptionally kind, helpful, and professional, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Her depth of knowledge was truly impressive — not only did she provide detailed insight into the ancient ruins and the history of Olympia, but she also enriched our tour with fascinating facts about Greek culture, mythology, and modern life in Greece. Her explanations were clear, engaging, and perfectly paced, making the experience both educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Tina’s passion for her country and her profession was evident throughout the tour. She was patient in answering all our questions and tailored the experience to suit our interests, which made the day feel personal and special. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Olympia. With Tina as your guide, you’re guaranteed an experience that is informative, memorable, and genuinely enriching. Thank you, Tina, for a wonderful day we won’t forget!
Charis was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the honey farm and all the activities. Highly recommend Charis!
First of all, I'm serious about requesting the driver (Costas) and tour guide (Tina) by name. They were waiting right where they said they'd be with our name on a large sign. Tina had communicated with us ahead of time to make sure we could find her, and it was very easy. Our van was clean, new, comfortable, spacious, with great AC, and Costas did everything possible to reduce our walking distance on a very hot day. He is a safe driver, friendly and helpful. Tina is a born teacher. She brought visuals to teach us the lay of the land during the drive to the Temple of Zeus, so by the time we got there we knew the salient points and where to go. It is a magical place and worth the effort, especially since it also includes the original site of the Olympics. The museum on site exceeded all expectations with a surprisingly large collection of artifacts from everyday utensils and pottery to massive statues and so much more. We could have easily spent hours there. After this part of the tour, we went to Klio's Honey Farm and were dazzled by the serenity of the place and the charm of Klio who delivered the most interesting talk and demonstrations in addition to providing delicious refreshments. The farm has been in their family for generations, and we were thrilled to meet her mother as well. You'll see quince, walnut, and fig trees and lovely views. Tina was the best tour guide and prepared us for every facet of the tours and visits. She and Costas adjusted everything to our pace, and there was even plenty of time to go to the beach and then do some shopping before we headed back to our cruise. We have been to many places on this trip, but our day in Olympia was by far the best. A fond memory was the path we walked to Klio's... a friendly dog behind a fence came over to say hello and give us love. For those of us whose dogs are at home while we travel, this was an unexpected bonus. You will see cats and dogs in Greece, all lovely, but this dog was extra special. Cream-colored, on the small side, and she reached her paws through the fence to say hello, wagging her tail enthusiastically the whole time. It was our best day in Greece!
Stathis was absolutely knowledgeable and gave us great insight into Olympic lifestyle. We enjoyed our tour and highly recommend him as your tour guide!
We had a wonderful private tour with Charis from Katakolon Taxi. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating to our group’s needs, especially with some mobility concerns. The van was comfortable and well air-conditioned, which made the day even better. We loved exploring ancient Olympia and taking in the beautiful surrounding landscapes and olive orchards. Highly recommend this service for a smooth and enjoyable experience!
Great little tour to see the sights at Olympia and awesome time at the honey farm. Driver was great as well
We had a wonderful time with Anastazia - she had a warm and friendly personality and great knowledge about the area and provided us highlights about it. Anastazia was a great host for this excursion and our group shared a few laughs that made the day more enjoyable! The tour highlight was actually the honey farm where Klio and her family shared their history of honey making and we had a great tasting too. Finished off the day with a quick refreshing dip! Overall if highly recommend this tour if you want the right blend of history, authenticity and beautiful water!!
While the private transfer was great, we did not get the experience we had expected. The listing promises bottled water which we were looking forward to after spending several hours outside in the heat. Upon asking for bottled water, our driver informed us that he did not have any. The tour also promises a driver/guide. Our driver said very little the entire day, so we mostly Googled our way through Olympia. Saying our driver was a guide and we received a private tour would be a bit of a stretch. Nevertheless, our driver was very kind and the van had great air conditioning. We did not get any skip the line treatment. We waited in the same lines as everyone else throughout the day. At the end of our tour of Klio’s farm, we were told we needed to pay additional money. This is not mentioned in the “What’s not included” section of this tour. Had we known it cost extra, we likely would have skipped the experience. The port pick up and drop off was excellent, but not worth the price tag.
Driver Andreas tailored our trip to our preferences which was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Amazing experience with driver Stathis. He was so friendly and made the half day with him so pleasant and informative around Olympia. He made sure we stopped at the places we wanted to making our trip very unique. Hie suggestions of the honey farm and olive oil company were simply great.
This tour was great! Nicholos was a great tour guide and made everything so simple and easy. It was really nice going into the taxi because we felt comfortable, but he was also very helpful when it came to navigating tourists traps and being able to do a variety of things. When we arrived at the museum, he was able to help us skip the lines and utilized a lot of good communication and connections to help us get through things without difficulty. He was very nice and accommodating to everything that we needed and listened as well as was good conversation. I would highly recommend this, it’s not overwhelming to where somebody is on your back the entire time, but it is helpful and a good way to get around and see the beauty of Olympia. If you have time and are on the island, I would highly recommend doing this tour, it’s less stressful and they definitely have good communication!!! he even gave us a little gift before we left which made the experience even more memorable!!!
Our experience in Olympia was special. We saw the ruins and museum, tasted fresh honey on diples, and ate lunch overlooking a beautiful beach in Katakolon. Our guide Andreas is a local and as kind and generous as we have ever experienced. He helped us understand the context for the history and culture making sure we were comfortable and hydrated along the way. Ask for him (or his daughter). They are amazing!
Yes, come to Olympia. Come for the wondrous history and temple ruins, come for the beach and the delicious honey-covered treat. But mostly, come for the chance to be entertained and guided by Charis (Harry). Charis was the most hospitable, warm, genuine, and cheerful guide my family and I have ever met. And this is based off of decades of traveling together — a unanimous feeling. Charis not only knew *every* vendor we came across, he gave us honest tips and tricks. He went above and beyond by extending our tour, obtaining some beer for my husband, and helped me find an elusive Christmas ornament in the middle of summer. All the while smiling, jovially laughing, and filling our time with incredible energy. I 100% recommend this tour just for the mere opportunity of hanging out with Charis!
This trip was expensive and really involved transportation to Olympia(we had to pay our admission price and do a self guided tour). We opted out of the honey farm(we also would have had to pay for that). The guide and driver were both professional and kind. The tour guide was fairly knowledgeable. She was difficult to hear at times.
Wonderful Experience! Entire day was so enriching. Learned so much and felt so welcomed. The archaeological park was surprising with many artifacts so well preserved, and we had fun racing in the Olympic stadium! The bee farm was a beautiful and hospitable experience with delicious treats, and the beach was a great end to the day. Our guide Constantina allowed for a special quick souvenir stop for one of our friends in the party in which she actually got off the bus with her to guide her to the shop for her specific request!! The driver was skilled and we felt safe the whole time. Although we had time constraints, we never felt rushed and she felt like a friend by the end of the tour.
The driver was very friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed the knowledge and history he shared about excursions we did. Love the fact he took us to the local places instead of just all the tourist spots. Would recommend this tour to everyone!!!
We were met as we exited the ship by our tour guide Andres. Our group of 10 had a few people who were unable to walk far so Andres modified our trip. We were on our own walking through Olympia Village which we preferred. He supplied oranges and even bottles of his own olive oil! The bus was great as was our driver Hercules! Very entertaining day. Highly recommend this company!
We cannot stay enough wonderful things about our day in Olympia exploring the area with our driver, Stathis. He treated our family like it was his very own. Very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about his beautiful country. Ended the day with an amazing lunch and walk around the town.
Andreas was our favorite guide during our 10 day cruise. Great tour and experience in Olympia, highly recommend it!
