Our tour was exceptional, but the difference was with our tour guide. He made it very personal was an exceptional tour guide, and took us to places in addition to the general tour. Status Paraskeuopoulos tour guide was exceptional. His mission was to show us a great tour.

Just got back from my tour…all I can say AMAZING!! Stathis was FANTASTIC!! It was a partial rainy day which Stathis told us about. To be honest we wanted to cancel but Stathis convinced us otherwise by communicating with us, letting us know he would have jackets and umbrellas. Thank God we did not cancel. Best Excursion!! Stathis was patient, gave us the history and was just amazing overall. He was waiting for us and had everything ready! And towards then end of the tour We also got to try yummy food!! Definetly do not skip out on the tour and if your able to ask for Stathis definitely do!! Enjoyed my port day in Olympia…don’t think twice and BOOK IT!!
A+ tour and tour guide, Stathis! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating our private tour of four. Flexible and stress free. I highly recommend if you want an excellent time in Olympia.
Very historical Visit to family winery was highlight. Meeting and connecting with Father, mother and daughter was delightful!
You should see if u can ask for Stathis for this excursion. Not only was he warm and friendly but he took great care of us and made our trip . He took us to a family owned winery and an olive oil factory besides taking us to Olympia and taking care of us every step of the way . I forgot about the beautiful beach we went to with Greek beer waiting for us . This excursion was well worth the money .
Our tour guide, Charis, was very accommodating and knowledgeable. He provided clear instructions on where to be picked up at the port and made sure we got back on time. We never felt rushed on our tour and even though the main purpose of the tour was to visit Olympia, stopping at the local winery and beach made our visit even better. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only have 1 day to vist.
The Best!!!!!! Wow!!! is all I can say. We had booked all previous excursions through our cruise ship. We took a chance and booked this one. And we will never regret it. Stathis was phenomenal. He took such amazing care of us. Customizing our trip to suit our needs and wants. His knowledge and recommendations were top notch. Olympia The most amazing winery Beautiful stop at a hotel on the Mediterranean Sea with superb beer and appetizer options. We felt safe and had an absolute blast If you book this trip, YOU must request Stathis.
This was our favourite tour! Nikos was an excellent guide helping us get the most out of our tour of Olympia. The visit to the Drouva Winery was a trip highlight. This is a small family run boutique winery with two plates of delicious Greek bites prepared by the mother. We had a table by ourselves and loved every minute of this experience. Highly recommend to everyone!
Our tour guide Stathis was an absolute dream. He personalised our tour on the day and made it such a memorable part of our holiday. What an unexpectedly brilliant day we had at Olympia, The Olive factory and beach followed by a flawless lunch recommended by Stathis. A day and guide even our 7 and 9 year old will remember for a long time 🙏
Dora was very knowledgeable and delightful to travel with. I highly recommend recommend her when visiting Olympia, Greece.
Mrs Dora was excellent! Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend for cruisers to escape crowds!
The tour person was very nice and informed us about the area on the way to Olympia. In Olympia we walked around on our own and in the museum. It was very warm when we went and we all wanted air conditioning to keep cool. Then drove us to a resturant for lunch and after drove back to ship.
We had a wonderful day with Stathis. He was waiting for us to come off the ship and bought us a delicious Cappuccino. He had wonderful communication with us the day before all the way up until we met him. He took us to see Olympia and the museum. Afterwards we toured a local olive oil factory and a local winery. They both were amazing. We finished the day having a cold beer at the beautiful beach. He brought towels and water for us to swim at the beach if we wanted to dip in the water. I highly recommend this tour and request Stathis he made everything perfect.
Basically a transportation tour to Olympia for the 15 of us including 8 kids. They was a driver and guide but he does not go into the Olympia site. Winery was changed to a family farm site as the other one was busy- 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for kids. We did not go for the tour as it was only going to be 30 minutes. Kourouta beach was beautiful and sandy but the purple jellyfish were biting so we left. Expensive tour with little information.
We had a great day that fully matched our expectations. Easy directions to the pick-up point (5 min walk from tender drop off venue). Really friendly driver/guide who explained about the area and dropped us to Olympia and helped us with directions/buying tickets etc. (we specifically said that we didn't want a tour guide for Olympia and wanted to self-explore here). The guys arranged for a wheelchair for my father, and then a taxi from the Olympia car park to the main venue - which other wise is a 5-10 minute walk. Super helpful. Then took us to a local family owned and run winery for wine-tasting / canapés (not a full lunch but again, we didn't want this). The winery tour was completed by the owner/daughter/granddaughter in a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere - and was a great antidote to the typical over-commercialised tourist experience. Then dropped back to the port on time. Thanks all.
The most AMAZING experience!!! Our tour guide was the best of the best!!! Took us to a local winery to dye for, and to a beach out of this world!!! I would do this tour with her 💯 times!!!
We had a fabulous tour with George today as our tour guide and John as our driver! George was so easy going and fun showing us all the places we wanted to see in Olympia. We also stopped at a local winery that was family owned where they were so nice and did a wine tasting with food . They had great wine and delicious food! Visited the Olympic site and museum and then finished off with the beach.
Great day. Saw museums then our guide took us to a great local boutique winery followed by a nice cove beach to end the tour. Our guide was very flexible and had great recommendations. Would do again but probably skip the museums.
Excellent tour guide and driver combo. Very accommodating and great tour as described. Would highly recommend
Amazing tour guide that takes you to the authentic and local places that you wouldn't typically see. With the best beach on Kataklon for the end of the tour.
The van was very comfortable and our guide was great. Olympia was good and much bigger than I expected. The winery was good but I do wish we would I have tried more wine than just 3. Overall we had a great time.
We had an incredible day thanks to our driver and guide Stathis! We saw the ancient Olympia site, 2 museums, went to an olive oil processing facility to learn and taste and had wonderful dinner on the beach with beach time! Stathis was very flexible in helping us create the perfect day for what we wanted and prioritize our time. He was patient and never rushed us. We ended up spending an additional 1.5 hrs on our tour than what we booked to take advantage of all the experiences. The scenery and history at all the stops was excellent. Stathis went above and beyond and gave us gifts which represented to culture of Greece! I’d highly recommend this excursion and Stathis as the driver/guide!
Our Katakolon shore excursion was absolutely amazing! Panos, our driver, was truly a joy and a delight to spend the day with. From the moment we met him, he made us feel welcome and ensured we had an unforgettable experience. He gave us excellent guidance on exploring the archaeological site and museum, sharing helpful tips that made our visit even more enjoyable. Afterward, he took us to a wonderful local winery that ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. The food was incredible, the wine was exceptional, and the hospitality was outstanding. To top it all off, Panos brought us to a beautiful private beach where we were able to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. Every part of the day was perfectly planned, and we never felt rushed. I can’t recommend this shore excursion enough. If you’re visiting Katakolon, be sure to ask for Panos—you’ll be so glad you did! He made our day truly special and created memories our family will cherish for years to come.
If you are on the fence about booking a private tour of Olympia and Pyrgos, let this be your sign to just do it! Our experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Having a private guide made all the difference, but what truly elevated our day was the undivided attention we received from George. He was an absolute gem—so incredibly thoughtful about every single detail. The itinerary was perfectly curated. We loved the local shopping stops, but the real highlights were the curated experiences George set up for us. His attention to detail during the winery visit and the olive oil tasting made us feel like VIPs. To top it all off, we ended our day at the cutest local beach, where we sat down for what turned out to be the absolute best meal of our entire trip. If you want a seamless, personalized, and unforgettable day in Greece, book this tour immediately. You won't regret it!
We were picked up by Stathis Paraskeuopoulos. From the very first moment Stathis was welcoming and friendly. We learned a lot about the region and culture. He was interested in us personally and even gave us some small gifts. We spent 2 weeks going from Greece to Italy and Stathis was by far the best tour guide we had.
This was a nice tour but I would have skipped the museum. George was very friendly and knowledgeable about the town. He brought us to a very nice local swimming spot which i would highly recommend spending most of your time there.
A wonderful experience! We were paired up with both a guide and a driver, which let our guide focus on educating us about the amazing past and present of this part of Greece and the Olympia ruins. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine tasting at the family owned vineyard, and no way would we have ever found it on our own. Finally, we got some breathtaking pictures at the beach. Everyone had a good time, ages 9-80
Excellent tour and phenomenal guide (Stathis) for a cruise excursion. My husband and I easily found our guide after exiting the port area. Stathis was personable and professional, sharing information about his country and family. We had a private tour in a comfortable car, visiting Olympia, then a small local winery with 3 wine samples and homemade snacks. Our final stop was a gorgeous beach area with a bar. Such a great day! Stathis stayed with us explaining the local customs and made food/drink recommendations. I mentioned wanting to buy some local olive oil, he purchased some for us as a gift while we visited Olympia! We were not sure what to expect from the cruise port, but it ended up being one of our favorite days. Highly recommend this tour and Stathis if you are coming to this area!
Our guide Stathis was absolutely incredible. His knowledge and expertise made this excursion one of our favorites on our 2 week vacation. If only we could have had him at every stop!
We are more than happy to have Niki as our tour guide. She was very accommodating and looked after our needs. The trip to Olympia was amazing and she briefed us with the necessary details of what to expect or see inside the site. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
We were able to customize our trip and the winery our guide took us to was outstanding. It was absolutely gorgeous!
What a fantastic day we had with Andreas as our guide! Absolutely recommend 10/10! We loved the whole day, and the trip to the small family winery was incredibly special. Loved our day!
This was a great experience. From the minute, they picked us up everything was very easily understood and on time. Our wonderful guide Constantina “Tina” prepared us for the ruins beautifully. We got a history lesson in the shuttle and it made our experience that much more interesting. Mike was our driver and the shuttle for transportation was beautiful. The air conditioner was spot on, and the ride was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this toward winning in the area.
Excellent stop. We decided against Olympic site and our driver, Pano, took us to the town of Olympia which was super quaint and fun. Then we did a local vineyard which was quiet and had great views along with great wine/ snacks. The highlight was at the end when we got to a high end beautiful beach bar. It was the perfect ending to our tour. Highly recommend even though this isn't one of the popular spots as our experience was great.
We decided to do a private tour to Olympia. Instructions were clearly given as to where to meet and our driver/guide was there with a sign when we got to the meeting point. We drove to the archeological site and had plenty of time to walk around and see all that was offered. Then onto the winery. This was a small family owned/operated winery and it was wonderful. We were greeted by the owner and showed around the winery, then had a wine tasting which included homemade snacks which were just outstanding. The wine itself was some of the best I think we had ever tasted so of course, we brought several bottles back with us. The winery was so quaint and peaceful. We could have stayed there for hours but of course we had to leave and finish our tour. Next stop was the beach area and again a beautiful area. We were able to relax and just enjoy the breeze and waves washing ashore. All in all this tour was just excellent and I am so happy I decided to book it.
Our tour guide, Joanna, was wonderful! She told us much about the area, culture and history of Ancient Olympia on the drive there and then walked us to the entrance. The museum was very interesting & well worth the time spent there. The archeological site/ruins was very large and a bit overwhelming, but neat to see. The winery Joanna brought us to was a delight! It was a family farm in the beautiful countryside, where we tasted their wine and olives, with homemade bread, marmelade & olive oil. Joanna had everything arranged, was very personable & gave us an amazing tour!
The small family run winery was easily the best portion of our tour. The wine was great, (and we bought some) but the homemade Greek food was outstanding. All four of us were extremely impressed with the winery and it made the day Complete The Olympia tour was completely a self tour and would have been better if we had a guide with us, but the area was still well worth the tour. The beach area was very nice, but was more a photo opportunity before we returned to the ship overall we loved the winery and it made the whole private tour worthwhile. we would recommend the tour
Stathis from Stathopoulos Tour Katakolo Greece did a fantastic job making this a wonderful experience for both my wife and I. We felt like family during the entire tour and I don’t know what he could have possibly done to have made this feel like a more personal experience going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed an saw everything we could during our time allocated while making it back to the cruise port with plenty of time to spare. This turned out to be our favorite excursion of the trip and I highly recommend Stathis from Stathopoulos tour who we found on Viator.
Great trip! Olympia was fascinating. The winery was such a delightful experience. The food with the wine was better than the food on the ship! Kudos. And our driver was outstanding. Demetrius was delightful!
We had a wonderful day with Stathis! He picked us up at the port and took us to the Olympia museum and archaeological site with drip of service. He even helped me find the app and provided a reference book. Then we had a personalized olive oil experience. The samples were delicious! After than we went to a local winery and had lunch and yummy wines to sample. Lastly we stopped by the beach and had drinks with a view. Lots of pictures! It’s was a highlight of our vacation. Thank you so much!
Book this tour with Stathis, he was very accommodating and provided personalized attention.. He made sure we had everything we needed during our visit to Olympia. Took us to a family-owned honey producer per our request and ended with the best Greek lunch overlooking the ocean. It’s was spectacular.
Three of us went on this private tour with Stathis and it was a great day. He was super friendly and shared lots of information about Olympia and his country. We went on a self-guided tour to Olympia but decided we didn’t want to go to the winery and ended up having lunch at a local restaurant instead, which was amazing! Ended the day at a small beach, which made my daughter super happy. Stathis knew she was looking forward to it and made sure he had a towel on hand for her. He treated us like family and this was easily one of the best tours I have been on. My daughter gives him ten out of five stars! ;)
The wine tasting and lunch was a great authentic experience. Wish we had a tour guide at Olympia. The guide was very informative as we drove around in the very comfortable van.
This turned out to be one of our favorite days in Greece. Olympia was a substitute port for us because of high winds in another port. We had a wonderful time. Our guide was amazing and kind. Took us to all of the places listed, the ruins, Magna Grecia is incredible, and stopped at an amazing hotel beach resort to end the day. I ate so much but thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Would do it again tomorrow if I could.
I understood that the tour to the archaeology site did not include a tour. However I was not informed that there would not be any body giving any explanation of what we went to see. We hooked on to a celebrity guided tour , walking near her group so we can understand what we were looking at. She was not happy that we were following her group. The winery we visited was ok, as was the food prepared by the owners mother. We then visited the beach however, we were not told that the chairs and umbrellas had been removed from the beach so we could only look at it from the hotel above the beach. This tour cost over $530.00, which at first seemed ok in value. However, we also had to pay for the admission to the archeological site, 20 euros and 20 euros for the winery. We could have hired a taxi for a lot less money to pick us up at the pier and take us to the Olympic site and the winery. A few of the women from my group were very disappointed for just getting the transportation to the stops and having to pay 40 euros for the extras. This was my first viator tour and had booked it based on my friends recommendations . I would think twice before I book another viator
This was a fabulous private tour. Our guide, Nikos, was extremely friendly and informative. He never made us feel rushed at any of the stops, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and happy with the tour. The book he gave us to help us identify the ruins in Olympia was helpful, but I have to admit I was a little jealous of the others I saw on guided tours. It was difficult to understand what we were looking at most of the time as the indiviual ruins are not clearly marked. The winery was owned by a small family, curently second generation with the daughter (3rd generation) getting ready to take over. It was an authentic and interesting experience that included a tour of the winemaking area, tasting of 3 wines, and delicious food accompaniments served by the mother, including her own homemade preserves. The beach stop was actually a hotel with a bar overlooking the ocean--a beautiful spot! This tour was one of our favorites of the trip. Thank you, Nikos! Elaina and Ivor from Seattle
Our trip with Theo and his father Andrew was amazing. We had a small group of 4 and they guided us in a new Mercedes passenger van that could have accommodated a much larger group very easily. Andrew was the perfect guide met us at each spot in Olympia and explained where to go and where to meet. The winery stop was the hidden gem of the trip. The family operating couldn't have been more welcoming. The food and wine was excellent. Make sure you go hungry..We travel a lot and cant say enough good things about this tour.
This private tour is amazing! Stathis was great! He took us to a local winery with appetizers, ancient archeological sites and the local beach! This was by far the best excursion we’ve been on!
The whole excursion was fantastic Our tour guide Ioanna was excellent .She was informative funny and very helpful.Nothing was too much trouble. . She even managed to get us in a 15 minute stop to have a swim and a drink at the beach Do not skip the winery it was the highlight of our tour.Family owned and run food and wine were delicious setting was beautiful.
This was a great experience. Our driver was exceptional! Our stop at a small family owned winery was the highlight of the tour. Would definitely recommend
