Private River Bamboo Rafting Activity In Ocho Rios Jamaica

Sometimes when you visit a place for the first time, there is uncertainty concerning what to do and how to go about doing things. VPSC Island Drive Tours took that away completely. The packages were nicely laid out on their site, Mr Devon picked me up at the hotel, set me up with Mr Scratchy, the rafter (who himself is an excellent guide) and when it was all over took me back to the hotel. And for the price - it was very reasonable, affordable. But, what stood out the most was the hospitality, warmth and just the good vibes, as we say in Jamaica of Devon and Mr Scratchy. I felt welcomed and appreciated in their beautiful town of Ocho Rios.

Awesome Bamboo Rafting Experience From start to finish, Devon from Island Tours kept us informed, picked us on time st our hotel, and was very welcoming. To top it off, the Bamboo Rafters were top notch! funny, respectful and played that nice reggae music. It was all amazing. and highly recommended.

Ray was an amazing tour guide. My family and I throughly enjoyed blue hole and bamboo rafting. He was accommodating, friendly and overall made our experience amazing. I would highly recommend using Omar Tours Jamaica for all your excursions. I will definitely be using them again when I return.

It was fun, but not for that price. We didn't get a massage or a red strip, as stated in the review. You could buy one along the river though, which they try to do of course. The driver and captain were very nice and friendly.

The driver was so helpful locating me after getting off my cruise and provided me time to shop. Great experience and felt generally safe. I felt there was knowledge for authentic Jamaican experience. I appreciated no additional fee for the limestone massage. Honestly great experience!

Me and my 9 year old son had an amazing day we were collected from Mystic Ridge resort. We booked bamboo rafting which was at Rio Nuevo River followed by tubing at White River. Our host communicated prior to our trip up to present, respectful and polite. Informative throughout and gave us a really interesting history facts about the island. Shadow our rafter was amazing too, my son loved the tubing which was led by Dwight. Thank you Island Drive Tours, would definitely recommend and use again when we return to Jamaica in the future, thank you again.

Tour Guide Devon was EXCEPTIONAL‼️ We had a big party and he accomated us very well. I also traveled with my one year old and he took the initiative to install a car seat free of charge ‼️ The tour, the rafting and the food were all amazing. The attendants who co ordinated the rafting were very good at interacting with us. Definitely was my favorite stop on my cruise and will book again ‼️

Honestly, Devon made the experience amazing. The bamboo experience itself was alright, they tried to charge us for more when it was included and ended up getting our money either way. Besides that, Devon really made it a-lot better. He went out of his way to make sure we were good at all times! Devon also went out of his way to let us try authentic Jamaican food after the excursion which was amazing!! Honestly an amazing driver and person.

The rafting was a lovely experience. Gently gliding down the river with a refreshing swim at the end. Captain Beckham was the best. And our driver Devon was the friendliest most accommodating you will ever find. Top notch.

Devon was extraordinary! he went way above and beyond and he was the kindest person you could meet. he took great care of us and I was so happy to meet him! he is very communicative, has a lovely and clean car with crisp air conditioning (which was great since it was so hot outside) and he made our experience 100x better. He was early to pick up our group and was eager to tell us all about “his home and culture” the bamboo raft tour was so much fun , so much energy and beautiful. So chill and relaxing- ladies got sandstone foot rub and guys an ice cold red stripe beer. We went to a local fruit stand to sample Jack fruits , papayas and Otaheite apples that were delicious. Ended the tour at a local beautiful beach next to the cruise port and Devon introduced us to Earl who took great care of us at the beach. Highly recommend this tour and Devon keep smiling !

This excursion was the BEST! Pick up from the cruise port was easy and Devon communicated exactly where to meet him. During our ride, he explained the history and the stories behind the different neighborhoods we drove through. When we made it to the river, he connected us with our river guide and we were off on our raft. We got to play our own music as we floated along. The massage and rum punch was AMAZING! Definitely recommend Island Drive Tours for your next Ocho Rios excursion!

wonderful people, beautiful views! convenient service in terms of pick up and drop off. our raft tour guide was great. I will say, the raft tour wasn't super long, but well worth the money. FYI the beach they end at is more of a pebble beach, not sand, and there are a lot of vendors in case that's something you're not comfortable with. great for souvenirs though. they also only just massage your feet, not your whole leg. but 10/10 for me and my parents.

i cannot speak enough about Devon and his tour. From the start he made sure we were will taken care of and had the best experience. It was such a fun and relaxing trip on the river, and the foot message was a much needed bonus. Devon is a true professional and I would recommend him for your tours in Jamaica. Bamboo rafting in Ocho Rios was absolutely unforgettable, thanks to Devon Walker, our guide and coordinator. Devon’s warmth and knowledge made the experience truly special. He picked us from hotel and sharing stories about Jamaican culture took to the river where Captain of one of the raft was ready to take us on trip over the river. Devon kept in touch as the rains night before required us to co-ordinate new time. Devon (although not part of trip) did go extra mile to get us sampling of fresh coconut. Devon's insights, and his passion for Jamaica made the trip feel extra authentic. Highly recommend this peaceful, scenic adventure to anyone visiting Ocho Rios with Devon.

We booked this tour back in Feb for one of the stop during our cruise, but due to the storm our itinerary was changed and had to cancel our contact person Devon remember how excited we was and reached out to us and was able to schedule us for the new date and personal handle all of our tours. It was an amazing day! I normally never give 5 starts but he absolutely deserves them.

Devon from Island Drive Tours was amazing. He took care of my family as we were his own. He set us up with a great bamboo boat driver, Flowers. Limestone massage was amazing. After the bamboo boat ride, he took us to a fruit stand to experience the amazing local fruits from the island. This is a must do in Jamaica with a great tour guide.

beautiful and affordable tour, a highlight of our trip. the staff was kind, helpful, and informative (they only massage your feet on this excursion btw). there are things to eat nearby and awesome souvenirs at the beach where the raft takes you. 10/10

We had the youngest guide Craig. He did a great job despite the constant picking from his co-workers. I felt he was being picked on because he had the older white lady pushed off on him. We were told to go with one guide, but that guide pushed us off on Craig. All the other guides had black, younger women in bathing suits and he was stuck with me. There is a foot massage and an optional leg rub down that all the others did the FULL leg. I didn’t embarrass Craig to massage my full legs. The excursion was lovely, and Craig was super nice, and my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves, but the constant teasing of our guide made me feel very uncomfortable and like they were laughing about me. A little reverse discrimination.

By the end of our tour, my fiancé and I felt like old friends with Devon. His charismatic nature and passion for his job was contagious. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday - exploring Jamaica with an experienced, personable guide made it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
