Private Bamboo River Rafting In Ocho Rios With Transportation

This experience was truly awful. River rafting on the Martha Brea River. We did not know where to meet the tour guy. I tried to call and they hung up on me. Then the phone always went t to a voicemail. Before the time to meet, they cancelled our tour without even trying to contact me. All of a sudden on the app my tour said refunded… we were left with nothing. Luckily we found a tour that was great at the last minute. DO NOT Book this tour company!!!

Unfortunately, we did not receive what we paid for. There was NO AIR on the transportation bus, that had already arrived. 20 minutes late. The tour was not half as long as what is listed, and PLEASE beware of services that will require additional fees that are not listed.

Shavaon was phenomenal! He was incredibly thorough and made sure we had the best possible adventure in Jamaica. His attention to detail and outstanding conversations truly made our experience unforgettable.

I recently enjoyed an amazing excursion that surpassed my expectations! The bamboo rafting was a highlight, allowing us to relax and appreciate the stunning scenery. The ziplines and ATV rides were thrilling, and the kids had an absolute blast! Our guide, Dean Paul Henry, was wonderful—patient, entertaining, and full of local knowledge. We capped off the day with delicious ice cream from a local spot and even picked up some coffee beans. Highly recommend!

Dean Paul was great! Great Experience and everyone was very respectful. The food at Linda's was way better than any resort in the area.

Dan-Paul was our guide he was as absolutely amazing and we are bamboo ride was a 10/10. He also took us to a great Jamaican restaurant and we got to go to a souvenir store where we had a 10$ credit! Overall was a great experience and highly recommend!

Shavaon was a great tour guide. He handled us with protection and care. He made sure we were satisfied. Any needs we had, they were met. I remember I had just purchased 2 anklets and when I went in the water, 1 anklet came off. He had the lady come back to me and replace the anklet that came off. He’s very kind. I didn’t like that we had to walk quite a distance to get to him because we were hassled by other business owners. They were yelling and following us. Putting pamphlets in our face to READ. It was a bit much. Other than that, fun times. The best was the raft massage and the music! Thank you Shavaon!

This was an amazing experience for our port day in Jamaica!! Shavoan was very professional and made sure the vibes were fun & positive for our group as it was my birthday trip. The bamboo rafting was so serene and relaxing!! Followed with the limestone massage, I slightly dozed off lol. Then the food at Linda’s was soooooo good, I almost bit my fingers off… We were also able to taste some rums at the souvenir shop and get some nice things with our voucher. I highly recommend Taste The Tropics for some fun in Jamaica

What a way to spend Christmas Eve! This trip was above & beyond our expectation! Shavon was the most incredible host going out of his way to give us an amazing experience even giving us a festive Red Stripe for the journey! We loved the limestone massage and the setting was unreal! Highly recommend this tour operator… only good things to say so thank you for making our Christmas so special!

Amazing trip thanks to Shavon. He made sure fe felt safe and okay from the minute we left the hotel till the minute he dropped us off. I learned so much from him and appreciate his hard work. We did both Bamboo rafting and ATV buggies, with my two best friends. Had the most amazing time ever, we were really looked after by our host and tour guide Danielle, who showed us the ins and out of ocho Rios, and gave took us to some really nice local spots to see locals and try real authentic Jamaican food. My friends and I did the Atv and bamboo rafting and the lunch at Linda's. It was really good. Danielle was our tour guide and she was soo nice and accommodating. She also went her way to take us out the next day to explore the town centre which was soo nice of her. Loved the experience and would definitely recommend

We had a great time bamboo rafting in Ocho Rios. The guides make this incredibly fun singing and dancing during the experience. The limestone massage was nice, but a little short and somewhat pricey - make sure you barter. I thought the river itself would be longer, but this is not the White River. This is just a short ride down to the beach and back. My biggest criticism would be the amount of trash at the beach and in the river, which is flowing into the ocean. The nature is so beautiful and I don't understand how the company doesn't take care of the very thing making them money. Taste the tropics was fine, but they are just a middle man between tourists and the river guides. They seemed more concerned about getting marketing photos than they did ensuring we would have a great experience. However, it was really great that kids 6 and under are free. Overall I would recommend the bamboo rafting, but I'd opt for the White River for a longer ride.

I can begin to tell you the how good the service was. Clean, very helpful, and extremely friendly. Our tour guide Shavon was amazing.

As a part of our day in Ocho Rios while cruising aboard Sky Princess, we had a planned tour to ride on a bamboo raft on White river. We got off the ship at 8:55 for our 9am tour and waited for over half an hour for our driver Shavaon to arrive. We were in the car ~9:35 when all other tour buses and minivans already departed. After ~15 minutes we were at the river. Rafts are made of green bamboo logs, ~ 40-45 feet long and about 4-5 feet wide, with a chair that fits 2-3 people in the back. Jamaican guy pushes the raft standing in the front. The river is hardly wider than the length of the raft - less than 100 feet for certain. Muddy banks are lined with tropical trees and backyards of assorted shacks. Our “captain” Sappy pushed the raft 300-400 yards up the river and pulled up to shore at a “chill out spot”. This was a group of 4-5 shacks mage of bamboo sticks and covered in blue tarp. One was selling souvenirs, another beer and snacks, another one was sort of a restaurant. We bought a couple of souvenirs for $10, a couple of bottles of “Red stripe” beer - $5 each, and our daughter took 15-20 swings on a tire swing over the river - another $10. We then sailed down the river, past the boarding dock and for another 300-400 yards to river estuary - ocean sandbar. We then returned back to dock upriver. Total journey was barely one hour. Our driver took us then to Bay beach. Total tour time was less than two hours. Cost us $75x3 + $20x2 tips + $30 swing tire+souvenirs+beer. Total pleasure cost us $295 and I felt that this was a ripoff. If other Jamaican experiences have similar cost/value I am not interested in coming back to see them.

They were incredible, from the moment we booked the tour. The guide was wonderful, they made our experience more amazing than we could have imagined. Dean Paul was the best. If you are in Jamaica and want to make moments of a lifetime definitely use Taste of Tropics. WE WILL BE BACK SOON!

The bamboo rafting experience was everything with the lower body massage. The scenery along the river was nice and the guide on the raft was extremely attentive. Our guide Shaon was so polite and helpful. Loved every minute of it.

We had a great time on our Rafting excursion. The service was great, the people were friendly and nice. Our guide Chevonn(sp) was excellent , he showed us around and gave us a brief synopsis of the history and areas. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone interested in this adventure. They deserve as many stars as possible an Excellent experience .

This was an amazing experience, not only did we do the Bamboo rafting but we did the Horses back ride and swim. Our driver Mr. Robinson was the perfect tour guide. He made our day In Ocho Rios. I cannot wait to come back next year for another great experience.

Our trip to Jamaica was AMAZING!! It was an absolute delight to be hosted by Shavon, from Taste the Tropic tours and transportation service. The energy of the Jamaican culture was by far a memorable experience, from the delicious food, to the adventurous excursions. My family and I felt very well cared for during our stay. Shavon gave us the best treatment anyone could ask for—his transportation was always clean, he was prompt and a good management of time, which allowed us to explore a lot in our 5 day stay in Montego Bay. I would absolutely recommend Shavon’s service to friends and family. As for me and my family we can’t wait to return to Jamaica.

I went with my husband in July 2024 our driver/tour guide was Shavaon and he did his thing. Our excursions was so fun and he placed us with people that were so professional and experienced. The part I appreciated the most was he took us to a gift shop that was affordable not the expensive ones in the tourist areas. And the food! The food was A1 we went to a restaurant called scotchies they served some delicious jerk chicken. Shavaon also took us to a “culture” spot 😉. Taste the tropics was definitely the best tour company we had on our entire stay in Jamaica. Big ups to you Shavaon I can’t wait to come back!!

We had a great time at Dunn's River Falls and Bamboo Rafting. Shavon was prompt and was very professional. He made sure we were comfortable the entire time. He was very accommodating to personal stop requests as well. We will definitely be using again when in Jamaica.
