This is an experience that should be on everyone bucket list... this was an educational experience , from learning about the lagoon to the luminous water experience and getting in was the best... note you need a good none flash night camera to capture it as this was an experience to behold. The return to land was the cherry on top.. the limbo / fire show was top notch.. well worth it....

I booked this experience for my niece and I, it was absolutely amazing! Aside from the fascinating lagoon, our guide Courtney was the best part. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the trip. Definitely recommend!

Driver was punctual and a really nice guy. He told us a lot about everything we saw on our Way to the tour and Even stopped at a gas station on the Way Home to let us buy some drinks and snacks.

The boat ride is smooth, and once you jump in, the water sparkles with every movement—it’s surreal and unforgettable! The best time to go is on a moonless night for the brightest glow. The tour is short but worth every penny.

Our driver Courtney picked us up on time from the hotel, took us to a lovely view of Ocho Rios on the way to the lagoon, and was very friendly and courteous. The lagoon experience was like nothing else we’ve encountered before. We were worried whether we would see much luminosity in the water as it was nearly a full moon, but it did not fail, it was very bright, like blue led light in the water. The boatmen, sorry cannot remember their names, were also very helpful, took some pictures of us on their phones and air-dropped them onto our phones for free. We stayed in the water maybe for 15-20 minutes, which was plenty. The water was very warm.

The experience, swimming in the glowing water is exceptional! Beside that our private transfer was just perfect. Arrived just in time with a brand new bus. The trip took quite long but we had very goos conversation with the driver during that.

Fantastic experience, whether swimming or watching from the boat. Our driver, Desmond, was a fount of information on Jamaican culture and local landmarks. The boat crew was friendly and careful, ensuring that all swimmers had a PFD, and provided a great light show with the boat’s wake. Would highly recommend, being aware that the drive from Ocho Rios could be 90 minutes each way, with traffic.

10/10 Desmond was a great driver and arrived on time as advertised. Filled us in with a ton of local information and was a great person. The luminous lagoon was as vibrant as we hoped. Would swim again.

The waters of the lagoon are just breathtaking - a truly wonderful experience to be able to swim in the waters and see the water light up. The captain was very informative having lived locally all his life. The only negative was you are discouraged to take your own pictures as photographs are taken of you in the waters but you are then forced to pay (should you wish to want to have a photograph) $25 dollars for all the prints which include ones you just don’t want. We only wanted one print and would have happily paid $10 dollars but were told it’s $25 dollars or nothing. We chose nothing! This put a dampener on what was until then a good experience.

Very disorganised from the outset. It was a free for all, people ignored the numbering system. The simplest way would be to call the numbers relating to the number of people the boat will fit. , instead of calling 120 to 235. Overall not worth the money

came with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time! one of our fav parts of the trip for sure! the guides were great, super informative and super funny. yes the bottom is muddy but literally just wear water shoes or wear a lifejacket that they offer so you can float without touching the bottom. the mud definitely should not stop you from coming or swimming in it. and yes the water is murky when you shine a light on it, but with some common sense you’d know that muddy water isn’t crystal clear lol. it’s night time anyways so you can’t even see the murkiness just the pretty glow. and for those complaining about the jelly fish again i feel like it’s common sense that if you’re in water that connects to the ocean, yes there’s going to be ocean life in there. you take the risk of jellyfish swimming in oceans almost everywhere. i’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone thinking about going just check the weather before your dates. cloudy/rainy days means less glow

Pick up and drop off was excellent! Our driver was an absolute gentleman who shared lots of local knowledge along the way. The tour was a little rushed BUT the experience swimming in the bioluminescent waters was unbelievable! Would definitely recommend going and booking through Viator for this excursion as it was fair, organized, and very professional!

The trip was easy to book. Ainsley was extremely helpful! We loved that it was a small van transfer vs a coach. The driver was friendly and informative. You get a small drink when you arrive, but it's included! The boat tour itself was wonderful! The staff were hilarious and also informative. We lucked out and were able to time our visit during the new moon, so it was darker and better to see the bioluminescence, no clouds so you could swim on your back and look at the stars. The water was warm and lovely. The bioluminescence was brilliant! So bright and responsive. The crew helped us get the best experience by telling us to spread out a bit. We got to swim for about 30 minutes, and we never felt rushed. We didn't stick around for the fire show because we wanted to make our dinner reservation back on our resort, so I can't comment on that. Overall a worthwhile and easy experience!

This was the best money spent on a Jamaican excursion. We loved every minute of it. Made you feel like you were a main character in an avatar movie. Would recommend this to everybody who’s able to swim and get on a boat. You won’t regret it.

Pick up from hotel was fine with Shaun, in his minibus called Action Pack, he was on time but not the friendliest of drivers. Arrived and the team by the reception / bar were very friendly. We went with friends who are locals and they were also extremely disappointed in the muddy waters amd overcrowded boats. We both tried to video others in the water and the glow was so poor our camera could not capture it. Their own camera staff used flash so you could see a person in the water... My friend said "if they hadnt visited before they would have thought it was a hoax" The water looked as dirty as a canal! They brought water on the boat kn a bucket and even when you splashed around in it with your hand, it was terrible. Been to Thailand that was not mentioned but 100% better. Back on land the guy doing Limbo dancing and fire act was brilliant! Big tip given. If the weather / water isn't right... Forget it, big waste of money and they had 125 people on the boats tonight. Booked through Tui, will give feedback to them tomorrow. Disappointed doesnt come close, my local friends were embarrassed! Got to the point it was so bad, it was funny.... Except the Fire / Limbo guy 🥰

Transportation from and to was excellent, I’ll give a 5. The work done by the people in the boat was very good. Your tour was the problem. I’ll give you 1. You guys booked too many people on that small boat. It felt like being inside a can. Once we were in the water, the experience was over all too soon because the crew was overly concerned about our safety due to so many people swimming at the same spot—there were even instances of us kicking each other.

Go and Get into the water! I know it’s nighttime and the water is dark, but that only adds to the experience! If you truly want to experience the bioluminescence it’s by swimming! Our tour pick up was right on time and we were guided the whole way through the experience by amazing people! Life jackets are provided!

I think it was a waste of money ! Very disappointing , we were a family of 7 and payed $25 a person , two of our family members jumped in the water and saw nothing eliminate

Waste of money it looks nothing like the picture unless we went the wrong time of year.plus they rush you back on the mini bus no time for food and drink

Luminous Lagoon is fun because it is unique. It is a short experience but fun to see electric blue in the water.

The lagoon was magical! Our guides were knowledgeable and so funny! Our driver from Coopa tours was beyond fabulous. We got so much history on our ride there! Totally recommend this adventure!

It was interesting to see the luminescence, but we were experiencing a full moon so it wasn’t that dark. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time at the bar before the fire show and then boat tour took place. The kids were getting a bit bored waiting..

Desmond Transportation Services provided pick up and drop off to the tour site. Desmond was excellent, timely and knowledgeable. He gave a lots of facts about the Jamaica and different sites along the way. The boat was entertaining, one of my favorite tours in Jamaica so far. The guide was hilarious and made the experience one to remember.

We did the glistening water trip and it was fantastic the crew were great fun and caring and made us feel very safe. The star ⭐️ was Desmond from Coopa Tours who facilitated the tour for us. He was so informative and charming it was like getting a 2 4 1 tour as he gave us so much history on the drive to the luminous lake and lots of information about this beautiful island. We will return to our hotel and recommend Desmond and Coopa tours to everyone. Thank you for an amazing lifetime memory.

This activity was amazing! Our transfer from Ocho Rios to the location was great, our driver was so nice and offered up so much history about the areas we were traveling to. Once we arrived, there was a wait about 1 hour and a half as we waited for the sun to go down. The dock is also a restaurant w/ bar that features a DJ so we had a time while we waited. Once aboard our captains were great and hilarious while also keeping our safety a priority. No, you won’t be able to use a camera to catch the glow but the lifelong memories that were made have no comparison. It was BEAUTIFUL! It lit up so good, just an amazing experience. 10/10 would do again

Our driver, Desmond was very friendly and knowledgable. The crew was funny. We got great pictures. Bring bug spray for waiting to go out on the water. There are only five places in the world where this natural phenomena occurs and Jamaica is the only place you can go in the water (or so we were told)

Being able to swim in the water with the glow was wonderful. I was jaded by having already been to Vieques PR. The dinoflagellate population was not nearly as concentrated here. Driver, Desmond, was exceptionally informative, helpful, and personable. Captain Jack Sparrow was a hoot. You can't really take a pic of this... Just go and experience it.

This was a complete waste of money and time. Very disappointing! The glow was barely visible and only takes place when you splash the water and it disappears almost immediately! Nothing like the advertising pictures show. The captain was trying to convince everyone that the glow was there and telling them to keeping swimming around the boat to see the glow, but there was nothing at all like the advertised photos. He then made all the excuses under the sun as to why it wasn't like the advertised photos. They crammed 50 people on the tiny little boat, so it's not a very comfortable journey either. They then had the cheek to ask for money at the end and leave a bucket by the exit for you to tip them. The only saving grace was the beautiful sunset, as more than. Have the tome is spent waiting for it to get dark. The stars were also, shinning very bright in the night sky while we were out on the boat. The photos do not do it justice. When we returned to the little bar/restaurant, where the transfer drop you off at, there was an amazing fire show taking place and our lovely driver Desmond allowed us the extra time to watch the show, before dropping us back to our hotel.
