I booked this tour for myself and my older parents, who are prone to motion sickness, and we were fortunate to be paired with Jimmy as our guide. I am extremely happy that we were! Not only did he encourage us to take our time at each stop on the itinerary rather than rushing, but he also made it a point to drive smoothly and safely to keep everyone comfortable. He even thoughtfully provided water and snacks, which went a long way in helping my parents out. Jimmy's care, attentiveness, and patience made all the difference for our family. Highly recommended!

Itinerary
St Conan’s Kirk is a hidden gem hidden on the shores of Loch Awe. It is an exceptional building featuring unique architectural features, enhanced by its surroundings, with a strong sense of peace and inherent spirituality. It was voted by architects as one of the 10 most unique buildings in Scotland.
We will stop at a viewpoint on the shore of Loch Awe for photo opportunities of this iconic 15th century castle built by Clan Campbell. Unfortunately the castle is currently closed for conservation works.
Next, we will take you to Inveraray Castle, home to the Clan Chief of Clan Campbell - the Duke of Argyll. (Open Thursday to Monday and closed for winter from November to March.) This is one of the few still lived-in castles in Scotland. Alternatively, you and your group will have the opportunity to explore Inveraray town, with stunning views of Loch Fyne. There is a cost for interior visits (optional), but the grounds, shop, cafe and toilets are open to the public at no charge.
A quick photos of the fantastic scenery below (800 ft above sea level), with stunning views of Glen Croe below.
We will stop at this viewpoint on the shore of Loch Lomond. This is the largest loch in Scotland by surface area, holding more freshwater than all of the Lakes in England and Wales put together.
We will stop at the Falls of Falloch car park, which is a 5 minute walk to reach this beautiful waterfall. The path is a bit uneven and can get a bit muddy during/after spells of rain.
The Real Food Cafe is an award winning fish n' chips restaurant, serving the best fish n' chips in the Highlands. It also offers gluten free, Halal and vegan options.
This is a beautiful viewpoint, and a perfect place for a picture encompassing mountains, a loch and forest - all the best the Highlands have to offer.
Rannoch Moor is the largest bog expanse in the British Isles, and a place of incredible natural beauty. Used in many film and TV series, you may recognise it from famous blockbusters, such as the Harry Potter films.
The 3 sisters of Glencoe is the most famous viewpoint in Scotland, and the 3 sisters the most photographed mountains in the country! Take in the extreme natural beauty around you and learn about the history of this valley, including the infamous MacDonald Massacre.
Castle Stalker will be our the final stop. Built by the McDougal clan in 1320, this castle became famous after it was used in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. It is currently a private residence, so no interior visits are allowed - but we will stop at a suitable viewpoint for stunning views of the castle and the loch. Heading back to Oban we have a 30 minute drive

We spent a full day touring and had a great experience. Ayvin brought us to several “hidden gem” locations that weren’t on the itinerary where we we the only people there and they were all amazing. He also showed us the sites that make Scotland such a special place. It was a great day!
George R. Was fantastic! He knew all the best places to take us. His knowledge of history was amazing. His special treats along the way were really nice! Thank you! We hope to return soon.
Corrine was an excellent communicator. She picked us up at our hotel in Oban and we had a lovely drive to Ft. William. She was a fantastic driver. We stopped at numerous spots along the way with beautiful views or points of interest. The drive thru Glencoe was particularly awe inspiring. We were dropped at our hotel in Ft. William after a full day with a stop for lunch at a historic pub. I highly recommend Corrine with E2G Tours.
Six out of five stars for Diana and our tour of the Scottish Highlands with her. In our one day, Diana showed us glorious highlights of the area, roaming from the pier in Oban to Glencoe, with castles and lochs in between. What a pleasure to see this beautiful area with someone so knowledgeable about the region’s history, literature, and modern ecology, and so much fun to be with. Diana, you gave us an experience we’ll always remember. Highly recommended!
A full day of beautiful landscapes with an informative and entertaining guide. Also a tour of very interesting places
We had a fantastic private highlands tour with Darryl. His rich knowledge of Scottish history added depth to every stop and we loved hearing the stories behind the places we visited. Some of our favorites were the multiple mountain stops with beautiful views, visiting Hagrid’s hut (although not actually the hut), and enjoying lunch with locally sourced food. Darryl was also easy to talk to-mixing in everyday Scottish life, a sense of humor, and genuine curiosity about us. It made the whole day feel relaxed, personal, and memorable. Highly recommend.
We had an absolutely unforgettable day in the Highlands with George Riley, who is without question one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. What made this tour so special wasn’t just the beautiful scenery — it was George himself. He is warm, funny, kind, knowledgeable, and so genuinely passionate about Scotland that his love for it becomes contagious. He has a gift for storytelling and made every moment interesting, heartfelt, and entertaining. Honestly, George could probably make a tour of a cement factory something memorable.. By the end of the day, we felt less like tourists and more like we had spent the day with someone who truly wanted us to experience the heart of Scotland. We left smiling, grateful, and genuinely sad to say goodbye. If you have the chance to tour with George, take it — you will not be disappointed.
We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Glencoe on New Year’s Day thanks to Joao. He was very considerate of my 88 yr old mother. He made sure she was never rushed and she could enjoy at her own pace. Joao was very knowledgeable about the area which made the trip even better. If you are looking for a great tour guide I highly recommend Joao
If you reduce the number of travelers (we reduced from 6 to 4) you will be charged for 6 people rather than 4. Dealing with help chat was not helpful. It seems that you must cancel and then rebook. A very unsatisfactory situation. That said, E2G Travel is a superb operation with excellent driver/guides.
This tour gave the most memorable Scottish views. Absolutely BREATHTAKING. Our guide, Shak, was an immediate hit with our kid! He was very kind and thoughtful. Gave the kids some traditional Scottish sweets (which we’re still enjoying). Just overall a beyond memorable tour. Truly amazing! Would 100% recommend E2G Tours and Shak! We’ll be back!!
Ryan Riley was fantastic! This tour had a wonderful combination of natural beauty, history and castles. We also asked that animals be a focus, and Ryan found cows and deer for us. Glencoe was my very favorite part! The lunch stop was fantastic, too! We highly recommend this tour and driver, Ryan Riley.
Phil was a great guide. Private tour was exactly that with pickup at our place and everything per our discretion. Absolutely worth the extra, not being herded around like cattle in the group tours.
From the booking, and all through our day long tour, this company was the best. We had Joao for a guide and he was exceptionally knowledgeable, accommodating, and pleasant. Could not have had a better time.
We had Corrine for our tour guide/driver and she was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited and extremely friendly and outgoing. Very easy to talk to and ask questions. The stops she picked for us to stop and take pictures at, were out of this world AMAZING! We couldn't have asked for a better day or tour guide. We will absolutely be asking for her again and recommending her to others!
The drive was everything listed. Truly beautiful scenery and unexpected delights along the way. Not least If which was how great the food was at the restaurant stop. A delightful day and Aiwyn was as nice as could be. I recommend this outing
Fantastic tour. Friendly, informative, great sense of humor. Very enjoyable. Unfortunately, they want me to continue talking about this, but that is all I have to say
The whole itinerary, which has been unbeatable has risen to a premium level thanks to Joao our guide who has been fantastic, empathetic, illustrated, friendly and with “Alma”, has a wonderful day
