Great walking tour with Kenny who was entertaining and a wealth of information about Oban and its history.
The meeting place was easy to find, the guide was knowledgeable and more than wiling to answer questions. Learned a lot about Oban, past and present, and it added to our enjoyment of the visit
David was a wonderful guide and showed us some Oban highlights along with some great stories about its history
Just so you know, this visit booked weeks in advance can be cancelled less that 30 minutes before the schedulded time without explanation or alternative. T&C don't specify anything about this...
Excellent tour with interesting, knowledgeable guide. We really enjoyed it in spite of the rain.
Emma was a wonderful guide sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with us and even adding some suggestions for our personal cheese chase that had nothing to do with the tour …. Highly recommend you spend some time with her! Great tour
Pleasant walking tour, longer than advertised. Enjoyable but at 2+ hours left before it ended to get to our next destinatoon.
We were disappointed with the tour. We expected to hear more Oban history with local knowledge. For those who wanted suggestions of other places to go it would have been helpful.
Great way to start a break in Oban, friendly and interesting tour of the area plus some good tips on other areas worth visiting.
I really enjoyed my tour with Emma, it was a very small group and she was very nice, funny and i loved her enthusiasm and love for what she does. She also provided some nice recommendations for things to do on the rest of my trip which I really appreciated :)
My wife and I really enjoyed our time during the Oban Town Walking Tour. It's a great way of getting an overview of Oban's history and seeing some of the town's best sites. Highly recommend doing this tour!
The walking tour of Oban was excellent! Our tour guide Emma was fantastic. She was hugely knowledgeable, and was great fun too, all of which combined to provide an excellent experience. I would highly recommend this tour!
Challenging Rainy Day! Needs more historical information. I would end it at the Chocolate shop for those not interested in Whisky. Probably better on a nicer day.
Had a spare 2 hours in Oban this morning before catching a ferry to Barra and it was the most enjoyable and interesting introduction into Oban and Scottish history which we have experienced. Emma our guide clearly has a passion and detailed knowledge of the subjects and answered all of our questions. The walking tour is highly recommended and great value for money. L
Enjoyed the tour, very relaxed pace (ideal for the older generation!). A lovely introduction to Oban; Emma and Kenny both very knowledgeable. The added benefit of great weather was also a bonus! I would highly recommend this tour
Best walking tour! Our guide was captivating and so knowledgeable! He shared wonderful stories and great history. Gave us tips about how to spend our time in Oban. I would highly recommend this tour!
Our guide David was very knowledgeable about Oban and presented information in an interesting format that made this an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this tour.
Our guide was so great & very knowledgeable. Also such fun & I would hire her at the drop of a hat. Thank you Rhonda & David Australia
Gracie was lovely and fun and told us of Scottish history and things to visit nearby as well as the history of the town. The tour ended up lasting 2 hours as no one was in a rush. Would recommend.
Great overview of Oban history and informative. Good suggestions for coffee and drinks. Kenny had good local knowledge and made the tour interesting even in the pouring rain.
Kenny was great guide. Balanced stories with facts and ensured we got the context of what we were seeing. Really good!
This was a lovely gentle walk around Oban. Retired marine biologist David was a very knowledgeable guide who clearly enjoys sharing his adoptive town. We learnt all about the history, from the original humans who made their homes in the cliffs right up to the Victorians who built the city on the small bay.
Kenny was great. Good and interesting information. Well paced.
A very pleasant morning with David, a sympathetic and friendly - as well as knowledgeable - local guide. Very inexpensive. I would absolutely recommend
Interesting walking tour with some history. Long walk through the woods, views of the ruins, visit to the church and local points of interest were indicated. Lots of info about various things. Have been on more interesting walking tours.
Ewa was delightful. Very knowledgeable and had a clear passion for her adopted town. Knew all the big history of Oban but also spoke of how she came to Scotland from Hungary and how the area has shaped hers and her young daughter’s lives. She also did 2 hrs (30 mins more than stated) so it was very good value. Would definitely recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with our guide Ruby. It was a small tour and Ruby gave us a great introduction to the history of Oban in a fun, informative and relaxing manner. She answered our questions with her local knowledge.
We enjoyed Kenny's humor. He gave us a great balance of history and storytelling with unusual "local insider" anecdotes thrown in. It was a lovely walk.
Really enjoyed our guided tour; we were lucky to have a small group … some people didn’t show but that made it better. Our guide David pointed out all places of interest and gave us a detailed explanation of the buildings we were pointed to. He was knowledgeable, un rushed and we were also lucky to have a lovely day. Worth doing.
This was an excellent tour conducted by a very knowledgable and enthusiastic guide. Her advice interment of living ans working in Oban shone through the whole of the walk. The walk was unhurried and informal
Eva was a delight, knowledgeable, funny and friendly!
As others have said, Kenny was an informative and engaging guide for our tour of Oban and we learned a great deal about the town. Thoroughly recommended.
We had Kenny as our guide. He was great. Very knowledgeable, engaging and great humour. Would highly recommend.
Kenny was an excellent tour guide. Funny and informative. Great 1 1/2 hour tour good pacing. Interesting.
We attended the Oban walking tour as a group of 4. Kenny was our guide; he was engaging and knowledgeable about Oban and kept us entertained. Interesting history of Oban, which we wouldn’t have known, if we hadn’t taken the tour. Well worth it.
Great experience and introduction to Oban. Our tour guide was a local and very knowledgeable. Would recommend.
Great walk. Gives ideas about what to do later. Excellent Guide. Really enjoyed the history of the town
Lively, interesting history and legends tour—we learned a lot, had a lot of fun, saw some Black Guillemots, and had a great overview of Oban and nearby islands, too.
Ruby was a lively & interesting guide who showed us around Oban today. She has a wealth of local knowledge and seemed to know all the dog walkers in town! We had a varied tour that included black guillemots, the dog stone, a walk through the woods and a visit to the cathedral, amongst other things. Definitely recommend this introduction to Oban. And thanks for the restaurant tips!
We had a great tour operator David, who was very knowledgeable and provided us with a comprehensive interesting tour of Oban. We were so glad we booked this for the beginning of our 2 week holiday as we know a lot more about Oban that we wouldn't otherwise have known. Thank you for a fascinating tour that was very much appreciated.
Great tour of Oban with David!
David was knowledgeable and told us about the history of Oban which was interesting. We saw Oban at its best as it was a lovely sunny day
Booked with Booking.com. Guide was excellent and v engaging with group members making sure he conversed with everyone in group - about 8-9 in total. Very interesting and wide ranging tour on a beautiful day weather wise. A really niece day. Guide left a bit too quickly at Oban distillery and could have earned a bit in tips if he stayed.on a little longer.....
Walking Tour in Oban – 18 April 2026 Despite the classic Scottish rain, our guide delivered an exceptionally informative and wonderfully entertaining walking tour through Oban. With energy, humour, and a constant touch of wit, he brought the town’s history to life and turned even familiar places into something memorable. What stood out most was his storytelling: lively anecdotes, historical insights, and playful asides blended into a tour that never felt dry. He even managed to weave the weather into the experience with charm. A tour well worth taking in Oban – engaging, warm, and enriched by a guide who knows how to captivate an audience.
Really enjoyed being shown around by the very personable David, hearing explanations and his stories of the history of Oban, natural and man made.
Local girl Lucy shares her knowledge and sights of Oban, the gateway to the Isles. Very informative walk and talk with plenty of insights and tips for further visits. An essential way to learn about the town in 90 minutes.
Very enjoyable and informative tour with Kenny in spite of the wind and hail. He knows the area well, and shared useful tips in addition to his entertaining account of the history and features of the town.
We had a fabulous walk - lots of interesting information, friendly and engaging guide, and just the right pace and places. Thank you!
Worth completing tour early on Oban trip. Plenty of information about surrounding area to help with other activities. Our tour was adapted for us and was well worthwhile.
