Incredible hike with truly stunning views! Angel and Cyril took the time to show us different plants along the way, explain the history of the area a bit (and gently guide some spiders out of our path), helping us appreciate the area all the more. Enjoyed talking with Angel and then later Jerónimo about the area and really was a wonderful way to spend the day!

We had a wonderful time on the Ultimate Hierve el Agua and Mescal Tasting full day excursion. Beautiful mineralized rock formations, and loved having local guide Don Aurelio share about the area. Definitely bring your water shoes and swimsuit, the opportunity to swim at the waterfall after the second hike should not be missed, but requires a short walk up a stony riverbed. Good hiking shoes and sun protection are needed for the hikes, a hiking stick will be provided. We also loved the mezcal tasting with Don Jerónimo, a larger than life personality. We gained such an appreciation for the art of making mezcal, and thoroughly enjoyed trying the different flavors from the different agave varieties and distillations. This is a wonderful full day excursion, with more than ample breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Thanks very much to our guide Diego for an informative and fun day, we learned a lot about the Oaxaca area and Mexican culture, and to Jorge for safely driving us. We also greatly appreciated how Coyote Adventures supports locals and local businesses. We would definitely recommend Coyote Adventures and this excursion!!
This was such a memorable experience. First thing was my guide, Maurine. She was just awesome - knowledgeable, friendly, and had great relationships everywhere we went. I actually had two separate tours with her during the week and I felt like i got so lucky to have her for both. First, we went to Hierve el agua which was just stunning. Not many people there so it really was a special experience. One thing about Maurine is she will just leave you be for a bit so you can have a special experience and soak it in (she stays close by, just gives you some privacy) and i really appreciated that. Then, the Mezcal. We went to see this man named Geranimo who i will never forget. He taught me all about his process for making mezcal and the i got to taste different types that he makes and he explained to me the differences of each, while also quizzing me on them. What a fascinating individual who i will never forget. I met his whole family and it was special to spend a few hours with them. I cannot recommend this enough.
Our trip with Christian was great, it was a highlife of our visit to Oaxaca. The food was delicious, home cooked meals prepared from scratch. We were welcomed as family. The scenery was breathtaking and the waterfall was refreshing and beautiful. Mexcal tasting was educational and an experience to remember. Must do in Oaxaca.
My partner and I both agreed this was easily one of the best tours we’ve ever experienced. We started the day with Marlene and a local guide, exploring the petrified waterfalls up close — the views were absolutely breathtaking. Marlene then led us on a two-hour hike (thankfully downhill!), and throughout the journey she was incredibly attentive, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. She pointed out unique plants along the way and shared rich insights into Oaxacan culture, which made the experience feel so much more meaningful. I genuinely felt like I learned a lot. At the end of the hike, we were rewarded with a refreshing swim in a local cenote — it was truly magical. We finished the day with a beautiful home cooked lunch and mezcal tasting at a local farmer’s home, where we were welcomed so warmly it felt like spending time with family. I’m not usually someone who writes reviews, but this experience absolutely deserved it. I can’t thank Marlene enough for creating such a memorable and perfect day for us.
Five stars! Diego was a phenomenal host and the trip was a perfect blend of outdoor activity and exploring Oaxacan culture. We learned a lot and we had a blast. Can’t ask for more than that. Highly recommend.
Very cool trip... and excellent guides. Be sure to bring bathing suit and, ideally, beach shoes. The hike is great and the trip leader was vary knowledgable
Fantastic day out - the hike is challenging but worth the amazing scenery. The food and hospitality was great at both breakfast and lunch hosts. The mezcal tasting was generous and a lot of fun. Our guide was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour. It’s pricey but very worth it.
This was a 10/10 experience that I would highly recommend. Hierve el Agua is a beautiful place that you see with experienced and knowledgeable guides. The landscape and swimming in the pools were one of the best days of our 11 day visit to Mexico. The food for bf lunch and snacks were all delicious and welcome. The Mezcal tasting was also a great experience. Christian as guide and Jorge as driver were both excellent and made our day special. Don’t miss this exceptional tour!
Our trip to Hierve el Agua + Mezcal tasting with Marlen and Jorge was exceptional. Well-organized and beautifully carried out, this day trip made for a fun, beautiful, delicious, interesting, and all-around unforgettable experience. Tasting Mezcal with at Geronimo's and Nita's palenque and home was the perfect ending to the day. We sampled 15-20 different kinds of artisanal mezcal, ate a delicious homemade meal, and learned a ton about mezcal and its culture. Throughout, Marlen was an upbeat, informative, and solicitous guide and Coyote Aventuras, as an organization, made a very good impression on us. We'll be back to Oaxaca soon and will definitely sign up for another trip with them. Thumbs way up!!
Beautiful and interesting walk around the “petrified waterfalls” with local guide, refreshing swim in the infinity mineral pools, nice hike down into the valley and to a waterfalls, with swimming, then mezcal tasting at a small, independently owned mezcaleria (where we tasted at least 10 types of mezcal, learned and saw the process of making the mezcal had lunch with the master mezcalero, who taught us much about mezcal and life in the area). It was a beautiful day, Angel was a fabulous guide and the overall experience was worth the high price.
We had a wonderful trip to Hierve el Agua and to a mezcal farm and distillery. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. She did a great job teaching us about plants, history and the surrounding community on our hike. There was a nice balance of free-time and structured programming. I would definitely recommend!
The hike to hierve el agua was amazing as were Paula and Ramsys. Please excuse me if I got the names wrong. They were so kind, caring and gave us such a fantastic insight into the area as a whole. The mezcal tasting was interesting. As we opted out of the second part of the hike due to the heat we went to el tule to see the 2000 year old tree. It was good to see another little town in Oaxaca. Would recommend this company any time. Would have loved to do another tour with them. Thank you Paula, Ramsys and Coyote
An absolutely incredible experience. The guide was personable, experienced and competent. They took us to spots that I would have never encountered independently and you felt how much the guide loves Oaxaca and being in the environment. I highly recommend booking a tour with this thoughtful company.
This was an unforgettable experience that I will recommend to all my friends/family who visit Oaxaca. Not only were the sights unique and beautiful, but the visit to Jeronimo's mezcal was one of my favorite memories from the whole trip. I must say, the second hike was very hard; the distance and expectations were not disclosed and I felt badly for someone on the trip who had never hiked before (they were miserable). The first hike is easy, so we didn't think twice about the second leg of the trip. But the second hike is completely exposed, challenging, long and very hot in the summer! However, it was worth it for the end destination. There was plenty of time given to us to swim in the pools and relax at the secret waterfall, I never felt like I was rushing. I appreciate that this tour starts early so we could miss the crowds and enjoy a whole day of adventure. This tour was the highlight of my visit to Oaxaca!!
The whole day was amazing! Diego was great and so passionate about not just the plants and animals of the area but the people and cultures of Mexico to. To top it all of the mezcal tasting was amazing with Jeronimo and his family who are such kind and beautiful people and it was a privilege to be welcomed into there home for a freshly cooled meal and delicious mezcals. Cannot recommend this trip enough.
Our private group of 11 had an amazing time!!! The food, hike, swimming, and mezcal were all perfect! Our guide, Paula, was the BEST! She really made the experience special with her genuine and deep understanding of the culture and nature around us. She was also very in tune with how the group was feeling and made sure everyone was having a great time:)
This was a wonderful trip. Paolo our guide, and her sidekick Matilda, took amazing care of us. She was really knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and environment. They were able to modify the day so we could get back to Oaxaca in time for dinner, but still not make it feel rushed. I highly recommend this outfit for any area adventure.
Amazing Tour! Recommend to take the early tour at 6am, it’s absolutely worth it! We were the first at Hierve el Agua and in general leads the challenging but serene hike through areas and spots where no other tours and tourists are allowed. My personal highlights were the „secret“ waterfall at the end of the hike and the Mezcal Tasting. We had an amazing day! Thanks again to our wonderful guide Marlene, Jeronimo for the thorough tasting and everybody who helped to make this day so beautiful
This was the best tour I’ve ever been on. Thank you, you organised the most amazing trip we will recommend to others! The tour was the perfect length with breaks from the heat to swim. We didn’t pass any other groups or tourists and it felt like a really authentic guide to the local area (which is beautiful). The family who hosted us for Mezcal tasting were passionate and welcoming. Highlight of our trip to Mexico and I can’t recommend more!
A long, sometimes hard, wonderful day! We started early, 6am, and headed out to the countryside and enjoyed an authentic Oaxacan breakfast at a family restaurant where 5 generations live. Our second stop was El Hievre de Agua. We started at the top and hiked down, around, and up. This allowed great differing views. The hike up was steep and does require a small bit of climbing but the reward is the 3 pools and valley views. We had ample time there before heading down to a box canyon. This trail is very rocky, steep at times, and full of sand so closed toed shoes with good treads are a must. The box canyon has a small stream ending with a small waterfall. You don't need water shoes but there are some uncomfortable rocks as you walk. The rock formations and seeping water are beautiful. Lastly, a stop at a small family owned and run mezcal producer. We learned an incredible amount about the labor intensive process to grow, harvest, and produce mezcal. We left with an immense appreciation for Mezcal and a nice meal. Our guide, Diego, was friendly and knowledgeable. In sum, this is a wonderful experience. It is very hot so bring lots of water, sunscreen, good shoes for hiking, and be prepared for some steep climbs and decent. I borrowed hiking poles and was very happy they were available.
The guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the different plants and nature! The hike was enjoyable, and ended up far from crowds in an amazing secluded waterfall. The snacks, the water, the transportation - everything was perfectly thought through! The best day I had my entire trip to Mexico.
What an amazing day! You start at 6AM at Coyote Aventuras' office, but we promise it's worth the early start. We headed straight out of the city to Hierve el Agua. The drive is about 1.5 hours, so there's time to rest after the early start. Once up in the village near the waterfall we stopped at a family-run restaurant with an outdoor kitchen. We had a delicious breakfast and were stuffed by the end. Our time at Hierve el Agua was a great mixture of easy/moderate hiking and time by the pools. It's good to be aware that these springs are COLD water, not hot. They are mineral springs, but not thermal springs. Nevertheless, at 10:30AM in February it was in the high 70s-80sF outside in full sun, and we all took a swim to have the experience! It's worth it. There are also changing rooms and bathrooms ($5 pesos for the bathrooms, so bring small change) so you have a space to change / dry off.) After our time at Hierve el Agua, we proceeded to hike across some valleys, agave fields and oak woods to get to a canyon waterfall that felt like an oasis. We were able to rest or wade in the river without feeling rushed. The hike was very exposed, so you should wear a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and have a long-sleeve shirt to avoid getting burned. Carry more water than you think you need, and wear sturdy hiking / tennis shoes. They were very respectful of people's different hiking paces. We felt very safe and looked after all along the way. These local communities do a lot with tourism, and they really go above and beyond to provide comfort and kindness. Just make sure to show respect for being on their land. After our hike and swim, we headed back in the air-conditioned van to go back down into the valley to Union Zapata to the Rancho Vale Madre for our mid-afternoon lunch and mezcal tasting. Jeronimo taught us about his artesenal mezcal process while his wife served us a hearty lunch at their family's dining table. It was an intimate and attentive experience, and we felt very lucky. We were back to Oaxaca City by 6PM and felt so grateful for such a detailed, in-depth experience! It's was an amazing opportunity.
One of my favorite days in Oaxaca was going on this adventure with Coyote Aventuras. It is a long day but well planned out with all the details delivered as promised with the breakfast, first hike to the petrified waterfall, great views, second hike to the private waterfall and food + mezcal to cap it off. The views are awesome and I was fortunate to be with a great group and tour guide in Marlene. Be aware, the hike can get pretty challenging at times - with the heat, loose gravel and narrow trails. Marlene was a great guide and very patient with our group whenever we needed a longer break or needed extra assistance. The private waterfall at the end of the hike is well worth it though! After that was another van ride to the mezcal farm, which was a great way to end the day. All in all, a very memorable experience that everyone should consider if you're up looking to visit Hierve el Agua and want to combine it with a good hike, great views and mezcal at the end!
Beautiful places, and great culture. Marlene and her team were extremely friendly, and their knowledge of the region, their love for Oaxaca, and their commitment to preserving the country's natural beauty and culture are invaluable. Super well organized. The food was delicious and the mezcal tasting was super interesting and very enjoyable. Swimming in Hierve el Agua was amazing!
Amazing trip with Coyote Aventuras! Santiago was a great guide, his chill approach was great for a fun and relaxing day and I felt very safe with Eduardo driving. An early start on Monday morning meant that we had a ton of time at Hierve el Agua without a ton of other tourists. Bring your own towel. The hike was great, with our relatively fit group it was about 1.5 hrs, mostly downhill but some uphills as well. Mountain trail was rocky and sandy, some sliding around, but as a regular hiker it was pretty routine. Ending at Las Salinas was like a dream-- incredibly beautiful canyon and waterfall-- it was chilly but worth a dip! Recommend bringing shoes like Chacos or Tevas to walk more comfortably up the pebbled stream. The end of the day at the palenque with mezcalero Jeronimo was perfect, we got to learn so much about mezcal production, tried an incredibly variety of mezcals, and had a delicious late lunch made by his family. The view of the mountains and valley from his roof at sunset was an unparalleled! Overall it was a very well-organized trip from 6am to 7pm-- I had a ton of fun, never felt rushed, and had experiences that I otherwise never would have had. Thanks team Coyote!
We had the best and most authentic experience to wish for in Oaxaca. The team cares for and works closely with the communities. It felt super personal and above all expectations really! Would recommend to everyone.
From the moment we were picked up at our hotel, we felt like we were part of a team. Every guide we interacted with from Coyote Aventuras has been incredibly welcoming and friendly. Paola and Diego took us on this day trip to Hierve el Agua. Because Coyote Aventuras has an early morning pickup, you will spend a good amount of time at the springs in solitude! This place is an absolute must see for anyone who geeks out on geology/hydrology. The best part was the hike from Hierve el Agua to Las Salinas. This route takes you through stunning countryside to a swimming hole within a box canyon, which is very refreshing after hiking in the hot sun! After the swim, we headed to Jeronimo's Palenque for a delicious meal and a very thorough mezcal tasting. Jeronimo and his wife will make you feel at home. An incredible experience!
This was an amazing experience and adventure. Our guide was exceptionally intuitive and knowledgeable in basically everything - the amazing mineral springs and the surrounding birds, plants, and animals , the local ecology, the political and cultural issues of the state of Oaxaca, etc, etc. She was truly a treasure and her sensitivity and insights made this trip exceptional.
The day was perfect organized: Diego and Louis were already waiting for us, so they were more then in time:). Hiking was perfect with enough breaks and wonderful views. Also the Mexcal factory , the people there and the food were amazing. Thanks a lot!!!
After doing a lot of research into day trips outside of Oaxaca City, my partner and I signed up for this one with Coyote Aventuras (given their social and ecological consciousness and commitment to sustainable, meaningful tourism), and we're so glad we did. Marlene was our guide, and we happened to be the only people on the tour, which was very special (although uncommon, I'd imagine, given the popularity of their offerings). There is so much to say, but I'll try to keep it brief. Essentially, each component of the day was thoughtful, and enriched with deep knowledge of the place, the ecosystem, the region, the plants, the products, the food, the people, the history, etc. Marlene was amazing, so knowledgeable about all of the above, and enthusiastic to answer my never-ending questions. Breakfast with the local family in the village outside Hierve el Agua was delicious, generous, and the perfect way to begin the day. The hike around Hierve el Agua was sublime, and we were lucky to be the only ones there at that time. We cooled off from the hike in the pools for a while, and awed at the breathtaking landscape. Next, we hiked up and down the hills across the valley and through mixed ecosystems to the local waterfall/canyon, which blew us away. A true jewel of a place, that I hope remains intact and unexploited by tourism. Afterwards, we went to the small third-generation family mezcal farm/distillery, and Jeronimo generously shared his nuanced, beautiful mezcals with us, along with his knowledge of tasting, production, and so much more. It is clear that Coyote establishes close connections with everyone they work with, and that these are true friendships, and help support the communities in meaningful ways. We enjoyed a delicious lunch afterwards, made by his wife, that was well-earned after all of the hiking (and mezcal!). A truly special experience that we will never forget. If you're hesitating on whether to sign up, or questioning the cost, it is worth every dollar and more. Gracias, Coyote Aventuras. ♡
Incredible visit to the calcified waterfall and hike in the surrounding mountains. Long day, but food, nature, and our guide Shy made for a 5 star experience. Cannot imagine what this experience would have been like without her. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting and staying in Oaxaca city.
Hierve el Agua is a magical place worthy of taking extra time to explore the area. Melanie was an excellent tour guide as well as Paula her assistant. On this tour you will be lead on a beautiful hike with fantastic views and waterfalls the majority of tourists will never see. If you have the time, this tour should not be missed. Leaving early at 6 am got us there before the crowds and the heat. We loved the breakfast stop. Melanie provided extra touches like homemade trail-mix, plenty of water, beer at the end of our hike and at the end of tour, “wish boxes”. Despite already have been on 1 mezcal tour, the stop at a mezcal farm was definitely worth it. Unique in that we talked to the “mezcal maker” and owner himself and had a wonderful meal i his home with his family. The conversation went beyond mezcal, to history and culture. I spent 5 weeks in Oaxaca City and this tour was definitely the high point, Thank you Melanie. Christine and Danny from California
it's a well organised day trip. Breakfast is excelent. You have time to swim early in the morning. The walking tour is very beautiful. For me and our family it was an easy hiking tour, but I recommend hiking shoes! It's worth it, and I would do it again!
Overall, it was a good experience. The time at the actual Hierve el Agua felt rushed, with us only getting about 20 minutes to enjoy the pools (we left there around 9:30, way ahead of what was scheduled, which we did not realize until later). While the special waterfall was nice, the top portion is much more iconic and more time was needed. Some of the time on the schedule also gets optimized by getting down to the area, too. The mezcal distillery was unnecessary and should be removed from the itinerary-- prices were high, and the food was truly mediocre at best. More time at Hierve, please!
This was an incredible trip. From pick up to drop off everything was great. Pick up location was easy to find, and was on time. Water was provided, and the food stop for breakfast was a lovely local location. The trip itself was stunning, and our guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging during the hike. Although it is a little more expensive than other tour companies, it is so worth the price! You get an authentic experience and do not visit the common "tourist traps". 10000% recommend Coyote Aventuras!
Coyote Aventuras is AMAZING! We did the Hierva el Agua excursion and it was one of the best days of our trip. We learned so much about local history, culture and flora, swam in amazing natural pools, sampled great mezcal and ate delicious meals. We also did the urban art walking tour in Oaxaca city on another day which was fantastic. Both tours were led by Diego, who was an excellent guide!
I would highly recommend thin tour to anyone who enjoys hiking, soaking up knowledge of the area, plants, mezcal etc. Our guide was amazing, the hike was much needed after being in Oaxaca doing city sightseeing. I can’t say enough good things about this tour. The tasting was rustic but authentic setting, breakfast and lunch were provided, again very authentic and charming. The hike was off the beaten track, where no other tours were operating, with amazing views, and knowledge of the area. A bonus was hidden waterfall which you get to hiking though amazing rock formations. Wonderful way to spend the day from 6am to 6pm. Do it!! Amazing.
This was the most well organized and enchanting experience. I am 73 and went with my 70-year-old partner and my daughter and her fiancé. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. The combination of food, hiking, water time and mezcal were perfect. you will be given snacks for the trail and hiking poles. The trails can be slippery due to lose rocks but manageable. Thank you, Coyote Adventures and staff.
George our driver & Marlene our guide were wonderful! The hikes were challenging but Marlene had snacks & water to keep us motivated. We had plenty of time at the pools to enjoy the experience. The waterfall at the end was unique & very special as no tourists were there. Lunch & mezcal tasting at a small family producer was wonderful. Highly recommend
Guides were friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Coyote Adventuras was very prompt, professional, and fun! Be prepared for a very challenging hike portion of the trip - this is definitely meant for fit and able bodied people as the hike portion is a physically challenging but extremely enjoyable part of the trip. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Gorgeous views around the falls on the first 40min mini hike are rewarded with a good hour long swim and photo session at the top of the falls. There is a place to change into your suit and bathroom if needed. The second hike was very challenging. Definitely wear long pants (poison oak type plants) and hiking shoes or sturdy running shoes. Bring a backpack for water etc. a couple rest stops were made but we hiked rough terrain for about 8km in about 1hr40min - the views were worth it! The next valley over we stopped for another swim and a beer at a local quiet swim spot with beautiful waterfalls and rock formations. Finally the tour ended with a lunch and mezcal tasting with a family that has been making mezcal for 3 generations. The mezcal master Jeronimo was friendly and we had a great time. My husband was not feeling well before the big hike and the guide was really helpful and got him back into the van to go directly to the next place while the rest of the group finished the hike. Overall a challenging but worthwhile adventure in a beautiful part of Oaxaca! Must see!
The online booking and messaging went very smoothly. Our guide Melanie and our driver were excellent. She met our every need and surpassed all expectations. We enjoyed our full day tour and met interesting travelers in our group. The hikes were more challenging than expected but well worth the effort. We loved the breakfast with a local family and lunch with mezcal tasting at a local home. BRAVO!
We had a wonderful day on the tour with the amazing, passionate guide Hernando (if I got the name correctly). The early start was worth it as we indeed avoided the crowds and had a very intimate experience in Hierve el Agua. The breakfast in the Comedor Citlali was such an amazing, tasty and private way to get us going (we keep raving about it ever since). Later we drove to the starting point of the hike and walked to Hierve el Agua. Once we reached it, there was a short break for a dip into the water and we got back to the bus. The team prepared nuts, plenty of fruits and water refill for us and we started the longer hike to a very private and beautiful small gorge and a waterfall. The hike was quite demanding for me but worth it. The only advice is to take snorkeling shoes or flip flops as the rocky bottom of the river (which we needed to get to in order to see the waterfall) can be painful. After the hike we were taken to a small Mezcal distillery and that was in itself an amazing experience. Tasting and learning about the process and having late lunch in the owners’ kitchen was really great and we appreciate it even more having been later on a very touristy and not authentic tequila and mezcal tasting later. All in all so far one of the best days in Mexico.
One of my favorite experiences in Mexico was my guided hike to hierva El auga with coyote adventuras. They planned out not only visiting the mineral springs but another hike afterwards~the whole day was planned perfectly. Great attention and detail goes into their trips, they are unlike any others you will find. They respect and care for the land and the indigenous people/communities from the land you are visiting. To top it all off their guides are knowledgeable and wonderful to spend the day with - We loved our guide Armondo. I highly recommend this tour with them and if I do any other tours in the oaxaca region I will use them!
All information provided for the trip by Viator (pickup location, contact info, ect.) was incorrect. The WhatsApp number I texted asking for the departure location was to a different tour company, who gave me their own pickup location. So when I showed up before 6 am, there was no one there. I attempted to email the operator through Viator but there was no response. I went over to the tour company office later to try to figure something out as a replacement. They offered to replace the trip with a much cheaper bike tour. They also refused to refund me, saying it was on Viator not them. Avoid this tour or any other tours with Coyote Adventuras.
Myself and two friends recently did this this tour and oh my god! It was AMAZING! We had the best time! I do have to say the Information Is a little misleading and it doesn’t quite specify how detailed and long the hike is. It’s a little challenging and if your not fit I think you might struggle but luckily for us we love to hike and had the best time! The views were incredible! We loved the your company that do this tour and our guide was so lovely. She was polite, friendly and knowledgeable! There was so many amazing little touches throughout like snacks, several options of drinks and local guides. The places we visited to eat were wonderful and super local. Not these typical tourist traps with bad food and herding people like cattle. The tours were not over crowded and because Oaxaca is still not overly touristy it’s not super crowded. The group we had was small and everyone was super polite and friendly. I can not rave ENOUGH about this tour and the company and our wonderful guide. 10/10!
We had an amazing experience with our guide, Armando. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and took great care of us all day. The “mini-hike” around Hierve was actually harder than expected so I skipped the 2nd hike to the waterfall and took the van to meet the group there. Once I caught up with them, it sounded like the hike was quite difficult for them too. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate me so I could still participate in the day. The mezcal tasting was a truly unique experience, authentic and traditional. This was a very special day for us, a highlight of our time in Mexico!
This was an amazing tour/hike/mazcal tasting. We were looking to see and hike the petrified falls and so many tours spent so little time at the falls. Not this tour. We hike around the falls, had plenty of time to swim and then hiked to an another amazing waterfall that is exclusive/no one else was there. Then we went to a very small/amazing family that brews their own mezcal for tasting and delicious homemade food. I highly recommend them over all the other tours we took as the others are just interested in quick trips to commercial shops and don’t let you experience the true Oaxaca. This is a must tour.
This was an amazing tour! Worth every penny. The food was authentic and delicious, the views all day were stunning, the mezcal tasting was informative and delicious, and the guides were incredible. Our guide, Marlene, was knowledgeable, kind, and fun. My favorite part was swimming! The hike is a serious hike, which I loved, but it’s something to be prepared for. I highly recommend enhancing your time in Oaxaca by adding on this incredible day trip.
We loved this activity! Marlene was a fantastic guide. Hierve el agua and the hike were beautiful and we loved getting to taste mezcal at a local house. Everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend!!!
