Amazingly organized full day. Our tour had 4 Spanish speakers and us 2 English speakers and our guide did an excellent job switching back and forth for all of us, all very understandably.
Terrible communication by Viator and Enjoy Oaxaca tour company. Ok, so I booked about 5 pm the night before, because Viator showed there was availability ! It can be tricky for some to navigate these websites & I’m potentially one of them. Any company using a third party needs to be more vigilant and Viator should be as well for taking last minute bookings. At 6.30 am the next morning I still hadn’t received a message via WhatsApp from Enjoy Oaxaca, so tried calling and left numerous voice messages, sent a heap of messages via WhatsApp and got an apologetic AI conversation. Waited an hour and a half at pickup, whilst continuing messaging, finally at 9am the office called, the gentleman was apologetic, but naturally we were too late, the bus had already left. He offered choices, which were, we could go on a different tour the next day, take the same tour 2 days later or be given a refund. Chose refund, because we were leaving next day, the refund process will have to go back through Viator & take up to ten days. Be careful booking through a third party, there can be hiccups. Am sure Enjoy Oaxaca are a fantastic company to book tours with, their reviews are great, this is why I booked. When googling tours, all these third party companies come up first and it can be quite confusing. Don’t forget to try booking directly as well.
It was a fascinating tour, they arrived on time for us, and were very friendly. Our Guide Edelmira told us many stories, she made it very entertaining and fun. They took us to many places with all the explanations. We had an incredible time. Hope to see them soon, all our family loved it.
The tour was jam packed. We were a group of 4 (35-60) and enjoyed every single stop-full of knowledge, photo ops and enjoyment. Our guide Ede was so nice, knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge with us. The only fault I would find with the tour is that we felt very rushed at every stop. If tour was a couple hours longer or one stop shorter, might help. But definitely recommended to friends visiting Oaxaca!
I really enjoyed the day trip outside the city of Oaxaca. We visited the petrified waterfall which was very cool to see, learning about how they dye and make yarn from sheep’s wool to make the beautiful rugs and other things at the textile experience was interesting, I actually thought they were very recently priced. The buffet lunch place was delicious and the countryside drive was great. Everything about the trip was awesome so yes DO IT. Our guide did a fantastic job explaining everything and the montezuma cypress tree crazy amazing.
We enjoyed a full-day guided tour out of Oaxaca City. Our drivers were skilled and our Guide, Eve, was knowledgeable, professional, patient and accommodating. And the tour was diverse, informative and fascinating.
Highly recommend this tour that takes you outside city center to see and learn about Oaxaca. Edi is very knowledgeable and switched between English and Spanish to accommodate everyone. You have to listen carefully because she has a subtle sense of humor that brings a smile to your face. She did not rush us and was extremely patient with all our questions. She gave clear instructions and communicated each step of the way. Edi is very thoughtful and made sure we did not hit our heads on low clearance and gave us a hand if we needed help on the steps. She is always ready to take your picture if needed. Christian, our driver, kept us safe and was ready with our transportation when needed. He helped the women off the van and was very professional. Edi and Christian did everything possible to make our day enjoyable and ensure we were all taken care of as needed. The places we saw are amazing and the day was beautiful.
This all day long tour is the best! You see all of the sites in one day. We were not at any one place for more than an hour / hour and a half, but that seemed the like the right time for me. BRING Water and maybe a snack. You get to leave your stuff on the bus, so don't worry about over packing. I found the reservation process confusing because my hotel wasn't listed, but I was contacted the night before and gave them my hotel. They arrived just on time! Super simple. Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots. I saw people in sandals who struggled at Hierve el Agua. We loved it all -- and I'm 60.
Great way to see several important sites and towns in one day! We had a 6 person group ranging in ages from 40s to 60s. Our guide Edelmira was very knowledgeable and very patient with the oldest in our group. If you have mobility issues this is not for you. There is a lot of walking throughout the tour and Hierve El Agua even has a moderate hike with over 100 stairs.
Great way to explore the city. A beautiful city to explore. They were kind enough to pick me up from my hotel even though my hotel was not listed on their pick-up route. And the lunch stop was awesome. Personally, it was the most delicious Mexican food I've ever eaten.
Small group tour with only 5 people, which we really liked. Site visits are very fast in this way and effective. Our tour guide Elly knew a lot about all the sites and was very funny. Would recommend!
I waited outside for more than 30min at the pickup point shown in the app. Not only did they not show up, they were completely unresponsive when i attempted to contact them.
The guide was great! She explained things thoroughly and it was just the right amount in each spot! I loved seeing the wool weaving and the mezcal distillery was amazing to see!
Ede was a great guide. She is very passionate and gave a great overview of each attractions. I also like how this tour gives you sufficient free time to explore each area. It was a long day given the many things to do - but a lot of fun! Highly recommend.
All the places were very well selected! The guide was really helpful, funny and gave independence. Hierve el Agua, tule and the food were great! My favorite was the textile place with natural dyes. I recommend!
We love the trip, and all the patience in the way and with all the people. For us that was unique trip!! thx enjoy oaxaca!!!
It was such a good day. Eve was a nice guide, always happy to answer our questions and listen to our needs. A big thank you to Christian for driving us the whole day.
We had a really great time w/ our tour guide ! A little group of 10 person is perfect to discover Oaxaca and the countryside ! See U later !
Ede and Marcos were wonderful. The hotel pickup and drop off made this really convenient. I was worried the day might be too long and was personally excited by some of the things more than others before booking, but Ede gives really wonderful insight into the history of Oaxaca and all of the places we visited were beautiful and informative. It is a full day, but nothing feels rushed or too exhausting.
Marillavillos. Idir y Marcos were great. Great experience with never realized historic information. Idir is an attentive tour leader, concerned with the safety and value of the experience for tour participants. We had fun.
We did the 2 day tour. Highlights were: Monte Alban (duh), Tule, Mitla, hierve el aqua, and of course mezcal tasting. We were lucky to have Ede for both days. She is informative, funny and patient. Great job, Ede!
I am so pleased that I decided to join this tour :)) Ede was such a wonderful guide, so energetic and knowledgeable and kind. The spots that we visited were all well worth visiting, my highlight was El Tule and the Hievre el Agua. I would highly recommend this tour, you’ll have a great day out and take some beautiful pictures!
Exactly as described! Tour guide was very kind and diligent with explaining the history behind everything. Learning the processes of textiles and mezcal is a must.
The tour is great for the value, my only but was 4 people on the last row was way too tight and uncomfortable for an all day trip. Reason given, sorry, this is hi season. Honestly ruin part of the trip. The tour itself is great!
This was my favorite day tour/activity of the trip. The leader was a very kind woman who went above and beyond to take care of the group and add her own information to each activity. The group and transport was very nice and she was able to get us back in town in time to visit the market. The buffet lunch buffet featured three types of delicious mole and was very affordable.
Edelmira and Christian are excellent guides and the tour was perfectly organized and timing was adequate for all The activities we had. The information given and all the places we visited were splendid .
Great little trip to see more sites of Mexico. You will end up at a rug place where they will try to sell you a rug. But all in all a great little trip
This was a fabulous tour. The stops were all very worthwhile, and Chris and Ede did a wonderful job driving and guiding us. We were consistently the first tour van arriving at the stops, which made for a very un-crowded experience. Everything was on time and structured well. And the lunch stop was delicious 😋
Amazing tour! My husband and I had such a great time. Our tour guide Edelmira “Ede” was very knowledgeable and friendly. Chauffeur Marcos was very patient. Highly recommend this tour.
Super recommended! We took a tour to Hierve el Agua, Mitla, Teotitlán del Valle, the Tule Tree, and a mezcal tasting. It was a last minute plan after another tour operator canceled on us the night before. Around 8 pm, we booked the tour with EnjoyOaxaca through Viator, which started at 8 am the next morning. They were very responsive and confirmed our spots that same night. The van was comfortable and new, and our driver, Clay, was excellent, we felt safe the entire trip. Our guide, Ede, was awesome! The tour was super complete, and we appreciated how well organized it was. Starting with Tule and then going to Mitla was smart because you get to see these places when they’re less crowded, and the sun isn’t too intense yet. The last part, with the textile dyeing demonstration and mezcal tasting, was amazing. Those two stops were just incredible. This operator was very punctual and organized. The trip doesn’t include entry fees to the sites, which is common in Oaxaca tours, so be sure to bring cash. The guide handled buying tickets, which made things easy. We really loved it and definitely recommend this tour! Ps. One tip: I’d recommend skipping the lunch stop, it wasn't the best food. Bring snacks and have a solid breakfast beforehand so you can eat something better once you’re back in Oaxaca around 6 pm.
Fun tour! The Tule tree was gorgeous and I loved that there was a bonus tree 1000 years younger also on the grounds. There are shapes in the bark that look like animals as well. The area around is super touristy with souvenir shops and restaurants so you can find a snack if you need. It was also slightly crowded with all the tour groups. Then we went to Mitla archaeological site which was very interesting to learn about. The ancient buildings feature the Zapotec symbols that I felt were worth seeing. Next we went to the mineral pools which also features a short hike to see the petrified waterfall. We didn’t do the whole hike since we wanted to get in the pools so we just did half of it and then got in one of the less crowded pools. It was super hot out and the pool felt nice and the views were amazing. After that we finally had lunch around 3pm at a buffet featuring local cuisine. Unfortunately there were not a lot of vegetarian options and most of our group was vegetarian. We got by on the staples of rice, beans, chips & salsa, grilled zucchini, and fruit. After lunch we visited a family rug making business where the rugs are made by hand from naturally dyed wool. You get a demonstration of how the rugs are made and then brought into the show room for a sales pitch. They honestly have a lot of cool rugs, pillowcases, wallets, table mats, and even purses in all different colors and designs. Overall I could have done without this activity but it was still nice to see the place. Lastly, we visited a mezcal distillery. This place was very crowded with tourists and if you have kids or don’t drink will not be fun for you or the kids. Personally I was interested in how mezcal is made because it relates to my job so I was engaged. At the end there’s a mezcal tasting and look - I’m not really a mezcal expert but I’m in the industry and I’ve tried some really nice mezcal - and the mezcal was mid at best. I totally could’ve done without this part and maybe done a better tasting somewhere else independently. Overall, I really enjoyed the first half of the day and then could’ve done without the last half. A huge thank you to our guide and driver who were extremely hospitable and kind. If I booked this tour again I would look for an option that only goes to the tree of tule, the mitla site, and hierve el agua.
We really enjoyed every stop on this tour. The waterfalls and ruins were fascinating, the hot buffet lunch was excellent, the time allowed at each stop just right. Our guide was entertaining and informative and took good care of us. I highly recommend.
My friend and I joined a day tour to visit El Tule, Mitla, Hierve el Agua, Teotitlán de Valle, and a lovely end stop at El Rey de Martian Mezcal tour. Our tour group was a total of 10 adults in a very comfy tour van with AC/ plenty of leg/arm space. Each stop on the tour was full of archaeological sites, beautiful natural sights, origins and history of Zapotec textile and design, and a nice end with an intro of how Mezcal is made/ taste. We had an amazing time, our tour group was awesome and made great connections throughout day, and cannot express our gratitude for our tour Guide Ede (Edelmira). She was engaging, warm, and super fun to talk to, she also did an excellent job in translating all the important details from Spanish to English for those not fluent in Spanish. Also tons of gratitude for our driver who got us to all our destinations safely and promptly . 🙏🏽 A few tips I recommend is to bring snacks( breakfast is not included) and at least 500 pesos for pit stop food break at el tule/ lunch buffet. Also, if you get Motion sickness, bring some Dramamine/ motion sickness meds, they were so kind to accommodate and let my friend sit up front. Thank you so much Ede for explaining in such great detail the amazing Zapotec history, and rich culture/ traditions of Oaxaca! I miss it already!

We had an amazing tour with our rockstar guide Ede. She walked us through Santa María de Tule, Mitla, Hierve el Agua and Teotitlan del Valle. She also took us to a mezcal tasting. Forever grateful to her and to Enjoy Oaxaca for showing us a bit of the beautiful soul of this region. They have a whole variety of interesting tours. Strongly recommended!
From start to finish we had a perfect outing. Our guide Edelmira was knowledgeable and friendly. Her insights into the sites we visited deeply enriched our experience. The itinerary is well planned, giving you adequate time at each site without feeling rushed. The visit to Hierve el Agua was a highlight, so too the guided tour of the Mescal distillery. Highly recommended!
Excellent trip and good advice's. Good shuttle service, very fast and polite people taking care of the party members x we enjoyed it very much
Ede was our amazing tour guide!! What a character! I loved her humor and insights on the tours. She is very personable and gave some great recommendations. She was so knowledgeable about Mitla and the Tulle tree. Ede and Marcos!! Thank you!!
Ede our tour guide was great! She has been guiding tours for over a decade and you can tell she absolutely loves her job. It was a very fun experience, even if it rained the entire day.
We had an amazing time with Ede y Isaias during our trip! Ede is such a fun and memorable tour guide! She made the entire trip amazing, and also helped us with our fotos. She also looked out for us, this was our first time in Oaxaca and she treated us like family. Isaias, thanks for the great driving, you were safe and fast, and we really appreciated your help getting us to and from our hotels to the lovely sites. ❤️❤️❤️
We recently enjoyed an incredible full-day tour with Ede as our guide, covering Tule, Hierve el Agua, Mitla, a textile factory, and a mezcal tour. Ede was knowledgeable and passionate, making each stop fascinating. From the awe-inspiring Tule tree to the breathtaking Hierve el Agua, her insights enriched our experience. The Mitla ruins and the textile factory visit were highlights, showcasing Zapotec culture and traditional weaving techniques. The mezcal tour was a perfect end, with a detailed explanation of the process and delightful tastings. was friendly, attentive, and organized, ensuring a comfortable and informative day. Highly recommended! Quick tip! Bring water, at least 500 in pesos, and (if you get car sick) anti nausea medicine. Also, plan for a FULL day tour (7:30am - at least 5:30pm)
The itinerary encompasses many of the important sites and experiences outside of Oaxaca. It is a very long and exhausting day, but we are glad to have had the opportunity to visit them all. Our guide, Ede, was very pleasant and thoroughly explained each site. She was excellent.
Amazing experience with our tour guide Edel and our driver Alberto. Well organized day trip in a small group of 12 people with sufficient time at each stop and interesting and funny insights. Great value for its money!
Had a fantastic time with Ede as our tour guide. Sweet and funny and very careful that we were safe and comfortable. She answered all our questions and then some. It was a full day very well spent. Expected the waterfall to be the highlight but found the traditional rug making to be very interesting. Shout out to Alberto who kept us safe on these wild streets of Oaxaca!
Not worth your money at all. Better things to see in Oaxaca. Had to pay extra fee just to go into the city hidden fees drove me crazy
Great tour! I loved the attention from Ede and Isaías, who were really helpful and knowledgeable, they solved all our doubts and we felt really safe thought all our journey, I can't wait to make another tour with them.
Edelmira (our guide) and Alberto (our driver) were wonderful hosts to a great experience. They were both very friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was well paced with a diversity of things to do. All the places they brought us to were well chosen. We had a delightful and adventurous day and we highly recommend Enjoy Oaxaca.
The whole tour was absolutely wonderful! Our tour guide Ede was super knowledgeable and excited to share all her knowledge of the area with the whole tour. She stayed excited the whole day and guided us on a tour of the history, art, food, and natural wonder of Oaxaca, treating us like family the whole time. I'm really happy we decided to do this tour and couldn't have asked for a better guide. 10/10 would recommend to anyone traveling to Oaxaca.
The trip was everything we hoped for and more. Our tour guide Pavel was great in teaching us about the sights as well as entertaining us in the bus. We were scared that we would get bored or tired on the trip because it takes up to 12h but it was the opposite. I can only recommend Oaxaca by locals to anyone that want to see the city/country explained by a young dynamic team! Thanks for the experience Pavel!
