Not only did we learn to make some interesting and different Oaxaca recipes, we also met a truly lovely family and learned alot about Oaxacan culture and values. Chef Adhey and her husband Enrique really made this a very special and fun experience. They also took some fun photos and videos that they shared with us afterwards. Look forward to trying to make these at home. Would not hesitate to recommend, a must do when you're in Oaxaca!

This is just the best experience! Not just the amazing food, hands-on prep, and great education in the Oaxacan ways... But spending time with the most gorgeous family who truly want to share their love and culture with you.
My husband and I joined the cooking class today. Chef Adhey and her husband Enrique showed us a fabulous time. From the meeting place pick up, to the meal preparation, eating together, and return transportation, everything was perfect. Adhey is an extremely talented and friendly chef. She explained everything thoroughly and with kindness and humor. Enrique kept us happy with mezcal and cervezas and he also took photos and videos the whole time. The cooking portion was fun, interactive, and informative. There were 9 participants and we all got along and had fun cooking together. The meal we prepared was delicious and filling. I highly recommend this cooking class while you are in Oaxaca!
Beyond our expectations! Chef Adhey and her family were so warm and welcoming. She is deeply connected to her indigenous heritage and that showed in everything she said and taught us. We made some delicious salsas and amazing chile rellenos. Best we’ve had. If we come back to Oaxaca, we are sure to take another class.
Thanks to Adhey, Enrique and all the family for a delicious, fun and authentic cooking experience, would highly recommend
This cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Oaxaca! Chef Adhey welcomed us into her home and taught us how to make some incredible Oaxacan cuisine, she really knew her stuff and was very kind and friendly. She even adapted the recipes to suit my gluten free diet, which was much appreciated as I was able to try all of the food we made. Gracias Chef Adhey and family for the wonderful experience!
I had a wonderful time cooking with Chef Adhey in her home and learning about some of the Oaxacan traditions! All of the food was delicious, the experience was informative and a lot of fun. Chef Adhey and her family were very warm and inviting. I’m looking forward to recreating some of the dishes at home to the best of my abilities! I’d highly recommend this class to anyone looking for an authentic Oaxacan food experience
I thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class and am so glad I attended! Chef Adhey and her family were so warm and welcoming, and her home was absolutely beautiful. I loved that she shared her abuelita’s recipes with us, which made the experience even more special. It was a small group, and everyone was so friendly. We cooked, laughed, and even danced! At the end, we got to sit down and enjoy the delicious meal we had made together. One of the sweetest moments was when I shared that I was in Oaxaca celebrating my birthday. Chef Adhey, who also has a bakery, surprised me with a cake, and everyone sang Happy Birthday! And let me tell you, that cake was delicious! It was such a thoughtful gesture and a moment I won’t forget. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great food, wonderful people, and lots of laughter. I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone visiting Oaxaca!
It was hands down the highlight of our 4 day trip in Oaxaca. Chef Andrade and her husband Enrique were such an amazing couple. They made us feel like we were cooking at home. The cooking instructions were easy to follow, there were music, Mezcal, dancing, story telling and in the end the great food! Highly recommend it to anyone who’s visiting Oaxaca!
Truly one of the highlights of my trip. Adhey and her family were kind, fun, helpful, informative and patient. The recipes we learned were delicious, authentic, and entirely possible to replicate at home (though without the awesome setup she has at her house). The entire experience was a delight. We cooked, ate, drank, sang songs, and learned about the beautiful Mixtec and Zapotec culinary traditions. Everyone who visits Oaxaca should take this class!
Cooking class with Chef Adhey was so magical and fun, we were hosted at her home and had a blast. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca.
A truly AMAZING experience!!! The hosts treat you like part of their family, as part of the experience you get to learn about their traditions and customs, all while preparing an exquisite feast inside their home. Later you receive photos, recipes and local recommendations. Absolutely must do in Oaxaca!
It felt like being with family! It was hands on and fun in a loving home. The food was so good and made with love.
Everything about this class was perfect, from the number of participants to the pacing and the menu. Chef Adhey and her husband Enrique are warm, friendly and a lot of fun. Our meal turned out delicious. I highly recommend this experience.
Honestly the best meal we ate in Oaxaca. So fun, a great learning experience, and Chef Adhey is a ray of sunshine. HIGHLY recommend!
What a wonderful experience! Everyone was so warm and welcoming. From pick up to being sent home they treated me like family. The food we made was delicious and I am hoping to try some cooking some of it when I get home.
An authentic experience, and a great way to learn how to make some traditional Oaxacan dishes
I don’t really feel like writing this review and just gatekeeping amazing experience that is a must do in Oaxaca, but I guess I’ll share Chef Adhey with you all. From the start to finish, the cooking experience makes you feel you are at home with family. The price is worth the experience. This was our last experience before heading back home after a week in Oaxaca, and definitely “saving the best for last”. We had a party of 4 people in total. 6 if you count Chef Adhey and her awesome down to earth husband Enrique. The atmosphere absolutely screams “welcome to my home in Oaxaca and get ready to cook and eat”. Till next time Adhey and Enrique. Thank you for having us over.
We had an amazing experience learning how to make the recipes of Adhey's abuelita. From the hot chocolate and bread to start to the chile relleno, we leaned about the cuisine, the culture and their family. The experience and the meal at the end were amazing! Thank you!
A must do if you want to learn about traditional Oaxacan cuisine! Chef Adhey is so cordial and welcomes you to her kitchen, culture, and family. The meals are cooked together from scratch, and Chef Adhey is so gracious to meeting any dietary concerns (vegan, gluten free, etc). You cook together, learn about Oaxacan culture, listen to music, and then enjoy a glorious meal together. I rate this experience 10/10! So fun and memorable 💖
Chef Adhey and Enrique generously shared the spirit of Oaxaca and of being part of an indigenous Oaxacan family with us through the language of food. We laughed and worked together with Adhey to use simple ingredients and new cooking techniques to make a flavorful and delicious Oaxacan meal (that we can actually replicate back home in our kitchen). Our afternoon with this incredible couple was a top highlight of our time in Mexico.
Such a fantastic experience learning about Oaxacan food and cooking! We loved getting hands-on and learning about the local ingredients, traditional techniques and the culture behind the dishes. The class was relaxed, fun and really informative, and Chef Adhey was wonderful — knowledgeable, passionate and happy to share so much about Oaxacan food and traditions. Also Enrique with his kind hospitality and great dance moves and music choice.
Best experience ever. You become a part of their family as they share a part of their culture and generational knowledge.
From the time Enrique picked me up until the end the whole experience was once in a lifetime! We cooked a great meal based on Oaxaca culture and Chef Andrade’s elders and ancestors. It was FANTASTIC! I was solo, however by the time I arrived, I never felt alone. Their children came and gave us hugs after returning from swimming!! So sweet! The cooking class itself was so educational and very hands on. Chef walked us through each ingredient and how it is traditionally prepared. Need I say that the best part was EATING! We sat at the table together like family. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I would 100% recommend!! If you are considering this experience, BOOK IT!
This was one of the best experiences my partner and I did in Mexico. Adhey & her husband Enrique are the loveliest people, they were so friendly and welcoming. The cooking class was awesome fun, and the food we made at the end was genuinely some of the best we had during our entire trip. Incredibly high recommendation to others for doing this tour!
We did the traditional Oaxacan cooking class and absolutely loved it. From the moment we arrived, Adhey and Enrique welcomed us with such warmth that it genuinely felt like we were cooking alongside family. Learning the traditional recipes passed down from Adhey’s abuelita made the experience even more special. The food was incredible - packed with delicious flavours and spice. Such a memorable and heartfelt way to experience Oaxacan food and culture!
This was a high value excursion I invited my family visiting from Virginia/ DC area to join me for as part of their week-long visit to Oaxaca to celebrate a special birthday. While we have been having multiple fabulous experiences every day, this was cited as the “favorite” by several in our group. Adhey and her husband and the entire team are simply excellent. The food was delicious and the process of cooking together and the quality of instruction sublime. You will be hard pressed to find another experience with this level of quality and value. Highly recommend !!! So fun, so informative, and truly memorable. Very detail is considered to perfection.
The experience was engaging and informative. The entire class was hands on and chef Adhey and Enrique treated us like family. The cherry on top was the delicious food that we prepared and shared. We would highly recommend this experience
Such a beautiful experience with Chef Adhey and her husband and team. From the very beginning, they create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere that you immediately feel at home. Beyond learning about Oaxacan cooking, what makes this experience truly special is the generosity with which they share their recipes, stories, traditions, and love for what they do. It feels authentic, personal, and full of heart. Dos Corazones truly lives up to its name. 💛
Well organized and hosts knowledgeable and friendly. However, theypaid no attention to spiciness requirements; almost nobody could eat the main dishes because they were too spicy. Despite the $90 individual fee and that they ran a successful bakery, there was no dessert.
I can't explain the amazing experience. They are very welcoming to there home, the love and history of there ancestors is amazing. 100% recommend.
Best experience in Oaxaca! If I could sum this experience in one sentence it would food culture and friendship.
Excellent class and we made food I could repeat at home. They were the Chef Ahday’s grandmother’s recipes. Very delightful class with a few fun surprises.
This experience was one of the best that I've had as a traveler. Ahday and Enrique opened up their home to me and we cooked the best meal! I'm still thinking about it. This is a must do in Oaxaca!!
One of the highlights our trip. From beginning to end chef and her family fantastic. I highly recommend take this class, you will not regret for one minute and you will enjoy delicious food in the process of the experience.
This was incredibly fun, educational, and delicious!! We did a 3 hour cooking class that was inclusively designed for families (we brought our 10 year old) and it wove in humor, storytelling, and great music alongside technical skills and ancestral wisdom. We learned about the regionally specific cooking techniques and ingredients as we went. And the snacks and drinks provided along the way and being able to savor what we made at the end was the perfect ending. Highly recommend!
Our private cooking class with Adhey and Enrique was wonderful! This husband-and-wife team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The laughter, fun, and delicious dishes we prepared together created an unforgettable experience. It was both educational and authentic, and we left with full hearts and full stomachs. Highly recommended!
A really nice experience all round, chef adhey helped us feel at home and totally comfortable learning some of her craft in an extension of her home with family there. Nice little touches and tips from her and Enrique her husband
Wondeful experience, highly recommended. Adhey and Enrique welcomed us into their home and made us feel as part of their family. We got to make savoury traditional Oaxacan food.
What a wonderful experience. Adhey and Enrique make you feel t home from the moment you step into their beautiful kitchen. They truly make you feel like family. We learned much so much about the history of Oaxaca’s gastronomy. We ate, laughed and even danced. Everything was delicious and recipes were easy to follow. I highly recommend this class. We’ve done many cooking classes and I have to say this is the first one where we felt that we were cooking as a family bc this is the way adhey and her husband make you feel.
Chef Adhey and her husband welcomed me and another family into their home, and from the moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t just a cooking class — it was an invitation into their world. Chef Adhey taught us like she would teach her own family, sharing her stories, her traditions, and the recipes passed down through generations. It reminded me so much of being in my grandmother’s kitchen — warm, comforting, full of love. We cooked, tasted, drank mezcal, laughed, and ate until we couldn’t eat anymore. I left feeling full, not just from the food, but from the connection, the culture, and the generosity she and her husband poured into every moment. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and would recommend it with my whole heart.
This cooking class was the best thing we did on our trip to Mexico. We had such an amazing evening with Chef Adhey and her family. It was very authentic and both the food and atmosphere was perfect. I can’t rate this experience enough! A must do activity in Oaxaca 🙌
From start to finish it was the best! The family is super friendly. The class was educational and the food was yummy. I was worried about bringing 12 year old but they were so inclusive and accommodating. Would do this cooking class again over and over again!
This was by far the best thing we done in Oaxaca. Adhey and Enrique made us feel so welcome as soon as we met them. The experience ran for around 5 hours and was so worth every penny. They were both so detailed in their stories and you can tell their passion for food and their culture. The food we made as a group was amazing. They ensured that everyone was involved and gave us great instruction as we went. While cooking we were provided with beers and mezcal. Following the cooking we all sat down to eat as a family. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Oaxaca, if you are a chef or just after a good time, you will not regret it.
This family is amazing. We had so much fun. We learned about traditions, food, and family. We had a 12 year old with us and they accommodated him perfectly, even as a picky eater he tried everything. It was a small group setting. They did the pick up and drop off. Took pictures and videos. Food was great. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Even their two sons came out to greet us with hugs. Such a great family.
Had a wonderful time at the class. It was a great experience, and learnt stuff that can replicate back home. You feel like you are part of a family. Definitely recommend the class.
It was a pleasure taking Chef Adhey Andrade’s cooking class :) I truly felt like part of the family. The recipes were delicious and thoughtfully selected, making them easy to recreate anywhere without needing rare ingredients. Music, mezcal, and a little dancing rounded off the experience perfectly. The personal and cultural exchange was also very enjoyable, and we laughed a lot.
Words can’t describe how amazing this experience was. Anyone visiting Oaxaca needs to book this cooking course. Adhey and Enrique were amazing hosts and made it feel like we were part of the family. We were picked up by Enrique and he was super friendly and when we arrived we met Adhey who welcomed us in and told us all about the culture of food and family recipes in Oaxaca. We then had some hot chocolate and bread and got to know each other. After that we were brought over to a communal cooking area and Adhey and Enrique showed us the steps to preparing an amazing traditional feast. We cooked, danced, had some cerveza and shared stories all centred around cooking amazing food. We then sat down to enjoy all our cooking and it was absolutely delicious. The best meal we have had in Oaxaca by far. It was amazing value for money and it was such a pleasure being welcomed into Adhey and Enrique’s home and getting to know them. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca. 5 stars!! 🌟
Amazing experience at Adhey and Enrique’s home, cooking delicious food and learning about Oaxaca! They were so welcoming and we can’t wait to try the recipes. It was so much fun :)
An amazing experience from start to finish. There was great communication from the hosts from from start to finish. We were picked up by the hosts and brought to their house where we were given a warm welcome (cervezas!). We were given some background on Oaxacan food culture and then began cooking and eating! The food was delicious and the hosts were great fun, as well as very informative. A must-do for anyone visiting Oaxaca who likes food and fun!
