Sips And Smiles Cocktail Walking Tour

We met the owner of Next Stop Huatulco when we were lost and she came to our rescue. After speaking about tourist ideas she told us about her company. No hard sell. Once back at the hotel, we looked at TripAdvisor and were impressed with her selection of tours and her excellent reviews. We decided on the Sips and Smiles tour. We love cocktails! There were five cocktails across five different venues. Each one was created for this tour by a mixologist in Oaxaca city. It’s not an understatement when we say we could never have found these cocktails on our own. She gave us recipe cards with the directions for each cocktail so we could make them at home. Mary Rose is a gem. I think we were all sad when we had to part. . I think we could confidently say that her other tours are of the same caliber as our Siss and Smiles. Mary Rose, thank you for being so good to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Eight collage buddies and I decided we were long overdue for a getaway. We decided on Mexico and an up and coming beach destination in Oaxaca called Huatulco. I had the great fortune of sitting next to Maryrose who runs a new and different kind of tour business called Next Stop Huatulco. She told me about her Sips and Smiles cocktail tour. We made a reservation before we left the plane. We visited five completely unique establishments. None of us had sampled the cocktails that were created for the tour by a mixologist in Oaxaca. We NEVER could have carried this off by ourselves. Drinks, appetizers, and plenty of laughter. We had a brilliant night. DEFINITELY go on this tour if you love cocktails.

My husband & I booked this Sips & Smiles tour thinking it would be a fun way to meet other travellers & learn about some great places to eat & have a beverage in La Crucecita. Our guide Maryrose met us on time but had no sign indicating she was the tour guide. It was just the 2 of us on the tour. Which, honestly was a bit disappointing. The restaurants, staff, drinks, food & concept of this tour were great. I feel like the host needs a bit of work. She was a very nice person but right off the start she spent alot of time talking about herself. More personal Information than we wanted to hear. Thankfully we were able to easily redirect her. She was rude to staff at 3/5 places we stopped. My husband, interjected several times, reassuring the staff that everything was great & to leave the music at the current volume etc.... I'm sure Maryrose means well, and is a wonderful person, but her tour missed the mark. Her knowledge was lacking. At one point we were interested in looking at a menu for a future visit, Maryrose stated "you don't want to eat here," but giving no reason why. She did tell us about some discord she had with staff/owner of two restaurants/bars we went to. The above stated being one. She did say it was all good now. It definitely had great Sips & snacks. Kudos to the staff of the restaurants/bars your service & hospitality was top notch.

Mary Rose was very patient and nice. She chose good appetizers for me to sample. Her suggestions for drinks were absolutely lovely. She was on time and met me exactly where she said.

A fantastic way to tour the town of La Crucecita and some of their best restaurants with a wonderful host. Maryrose, host and proprietor of Sips & Smiles, is genuinely interested in providing you with a unique and enjoyable experience. You will enjoy amazing cocktails, local dishes you might never order on your own, and leave feeling a wonderful sense of connection to the area. Highly recommend.

My family of 5 really enjoyed the tour. We went to restaurants we likely would not have found on our own, and have even returned to a couple as we thought they were so good. Maryrose has done an excellent job of seeking out unique spots and choosing great drinks and appies that we probably wouldn’t have tried if it wasn’t for her.

A great way to see the seaside town of Crucecita! Our tour guide Mary Rose took us to some amazing resto/bars with unique food and drink offerings. Tried some things we never would’ve thought to order on the menus. Had a chance to stop and shop at authentic shops with hand made textiles and jewelry.

Maryrose was super nice, showed us places and specific drinks and foods that we would never have found on our own. She even called us afterward with a recommendation for dinner that turned out to be an amazing place! (Otto). I think that the pace of the tour was just right, highly recommended! Even tried the chapulines. (Ask if you don't know).

We spent the entire day at a beautiful beach that was literally just perfect. In the evening, we celebrated the Fourth of July away from home on the Sips and Smiles Mexican/ devine cocktail tour. This tour is very well thought out and very unique. New drink experiences ( created by a mixologist from Oaxaca just for our tour) varied locations, trivia pursuit questions (fun and educational information about Oaxaca and Mexico), gift bags with cocktail recipes from the tour. Each cocktails is named after a famous Spanish singer Luis Miguel. There is an QR code with the recipe. Each drink is named after a famous song by Luis Miguel .( Luis Miguel is the most famous Spanish-speaking singer in the world.). Our guide knew how to entertain and she did not rush us to complete the tour exactly on time. We all would all nominate Sips and Smiles for an out of the ordinary tour!

My daughter is getting married next month and she wanted one last blow out with her besties in Mexico. Once we decided our destination would be Huatulco I did some research and found a tour called Sips and Smiles(a cocktail tour). When I read the name of the tour, I was sure it was what I wanted as it was completely different from all the other tours on offer. I hit a home run!!!!! Literally, everything was taken care of by Maryrose (our guide). She was there to ensure a memorable night for one and all. The cocktails were created exclusively for Sips and Smiles by a mixologist from Oaxaca city. They cocktails were tasty and the destinations varied which made the evening even more fun. One stop was a mezcal bar. None of us had ever tasted mezcal. (Take baby sips - trust me.) At the end of the tour Maryrose gave each of us a custom mesh bags and recipe cards tied together for the cocktails we taste tested to recreate at home. We had so much fun without being overserved! The consensus of each person in the party is that we would highly recommend this tour and want to go on it again.

We had done a similar tour in PVR and were excited to try this tour. Unfortunately it fell a bit flat. We waited at the meeting place for a while, the guide didn’t have a sign stating the tour, Viator doesn’t have her business name. We walked around and were asking people. Finally met her and she expected us to be men. We were told that the recipe cards would reflect the drinks we tried, there was only one. Mary Rose didn’t explain the drinks nor did she know what was in some of them. We felt she was a bit rude to some of the staff. She also seemed inebriated and wanted to take a cab 2 blocks to the next restaurant. The restaurants, drinks, and food were great, but the experience wasn’t what we expected. Definitely a good way to try some of the many restaurants. We did go back to a few of the restaurants during our stay.

We had an amazing time with our very charming and lovely guide MaryRose. Delicious cocktails, tasty snacks and an informative tour of the town all in one, highly recommend for a great evening out!

From the beverages, to the knowledge of the area, to the wonderful conversation Maryrose made this tour such a wonderful part of my trip to Huatulco. I highly recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a fantastic experience

What a better way to end the year than on a Sips and Smiles cocktail tour! We had such a great time. Everything was first class at the same time eclectic. Highly recommended for ALL cocktail lovers.

We are a cocktail-loving family, so when we heard about the Sips and Smiles tour, we knew we had to sign up. Each stop on the tour was unique, and the cocktails we tasted were nothing short of spectacular! Maryrose, our amazing guide, even gifted us the recipes for the drinks we enjoyed, so we could recreate the experience at home. We've already decided that once we're back, we'll throw a cocktail party featuring the delicious drinks we tried in Mexico with Maryrose. It was truly a memorable experience that we’ll cherish – highly recommend for anyone who loves great drinks, fun, and discovering local flavors!

We live in Monterey and know very little about the south of Mexico. We heard there is a new up-and-coming beach area called Huatulco on the coast of Oaxaca. We booked our tickets and off we went and did we make a good decision. We had fun from the minute we landed. To get things off to a roaring start our first night we booked a tour called Sips and Smiles. Each cocktail was created by a mixologist from Oaxaca. There was also an excellent mezcal tasting. The variety of locations made the tour so interesting. The staff at each stop were more than accommodating which made us feel so special. Maryrose our wonderful guide looked after our every need and she was SO much fun. The cocktails were half pours so not only did we thoroughly enjoy ourselves, we were rested to explore our second day in Huatulco. Maryrose was forthcoming with her inside information and this significantly contributed to our wonderful holiday!

We had SO much fun with our guide Maryrose! She's so generous with her time and recommendations and we'd recommend this to ANYONE and EVERYONE! Maryrose knows all the local spots to visit - The mezcal tasting in particular was unbelievable - the owner is a real character and matches his clients shots. His family has been making mezcal for over 200 years, and the mezcaleria was something new and totally different for us. HIGHLY recommend this, it wouldn't have been the same if we hadn't met Maryrose!

I was invited to join my college roommate and her besties for a bachelorette party. The event was going to be held in Bahias de Huatulco on the coast of Oaxaca. I had never heard of Huatulco and was a little skeptical. I have been to Cabo, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Merida, etc (we live in the southern US and Mexico is an ideal vacation location for us). One evening we arranged to go on a private cocktail tour called Sips and Smiles. All the cocktails were created for Maryrose (our incredible guide) by a Oaxacan mixologist. The drinks were served in beautiful glassware. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The mezcal tasting was awesome! We would never have been able to find the mezcalaria on our own nor would we have sampled mezcal. The owner Omar gave a tutuorial on this special alcohol. We had so much fun there. You have to see the bar to understand our enthusiasm. The cocktails are half-pours so no one had a headache the next morning. Maryrose shared her knowledge of the area and explained that Huatulco is poised to be the next big destination to holiday in Mexico. I could not agree more with only five short days to absorb Huatulco. I would advise you to hurry and visit before it explodes with tourists. At the end of the tour Maryrose gave us the recipes of the cocktails we enjoyed to take home with us. Nice touch!

Last night, my husband and I along with other guests went on The Cocktail Tour with Next Stop Huatulco. The tour was so well done. Beautiful glassware, original cocktails, mezcal tasting, custom salsa, recipe cards with cocktail recipes to take home with us. I am posting this review promptly because I want to thank Maryrose (our guide). She made us all feel so welcome and truly eager to provide a special experience. Maryrose you succeed!

MaryRose is an amazing guide! I’ve never experienced a tour like this! She takes you to five different locales with five different specialty cocktails-all incredible! Mezcal, which seems to be the favorite local libation of Oaxaca, was nothing like I had experienced before. Earthy and delicious! Tip-these are not drinks to be thrown back but to be savored and enjoyed. The layers of flavors are delightful! And MaryRose is too! She is so open to helping first timers and is full of fun advice for the area and really all of Oaxaca and the region. Experience this! You won’t be disappointed!

We had never been on an experience quite like Sips and Smiles. Our host Maryrose is one of the most personable people we have met. We visited 5 destinations which consisted of bars, restaurants and a mezcalaria and sipped six cocktails that a Oaxacan mixologist created just for this tour followed by a mezcal tasting. Our drinks were served in beautiful and colorful etched glasses made her in Mexico. Each drink was like receiving a little gift. Maryrose answered any questions that we had about the local area and shared great tips for the remainder of our stay. Maryrose gave a gift of the cocktail recipe cards to take home. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Huatulco.

Great experience, especially if you consider yourself a bit a mixologist. If you like cocktails this is your tour. The mezcal tasting was a very enlightening experience as we never heard of this alcohol. Thankfully the drinks are served in half portions so you can keep sipping and smiling. Thank you MR.

Maryrose was an excellent host! I felt like I was spending time with a friend. She knew the ins and outs of the area, the good restaurants, the unique cocktails, and had a good repore with locals. she took me to some unique places, a cool roof top cafe/bar, an off the beaten path bar that was completely unique, and to some of the popular restauranys as well. I had some really good guacamole and some tasty cocktails. Maryrose also helped me coordinate the rest of the time here and was willing to be a person of contact while I was there.

Excellent tour! Mary Rosse, an excellent guide who is always attentive We walked around the very quiet center of Huatulco. The drinks are great and the snacks are 10 out of 10. We traveled from Guanajuato to Bahías de Huatulco and were very satisfied. We will definitely return and shop at Next Stop Huatulco.
