Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and introwove humor. He explained the time period in order to understand the bigger picture. The meeting point felt far from where we were staying , however our drop off was local.

Monte Alban Tour was great: only 4 people, not too short not too long, time in the museum and time outside. Luis answered all our questions and was very caring as I had to stop for a while as I was not feeling well. I highly recommend !

We had a great experience with this tour company and guide! We arrived to a nice seating area with drink and snack while we waited, and the tour was top quality. Pavel was a great guide--patient, extremely informative, responsive to our environment (waited for us to sort out our needs with a little bit of rain, standing under trees for shade) and such a great speaker. We fully enjoyed the tour, which he led in 2 languages. When it went over time he didn't rush, just kept up with the full details. We would definitely do a tour with this company on our next visit to Oaxaca. Thank you!

Do you have a half day free, and want to learn all about the Zapotecs? Well this is the tour for you! Pavel our guide is the best in the business. He spends more time than most guides at Monte Alban providing lots of historical context. He also points out subtle details, and tells many interesting stories about the site. Plus he finds ways to keep things lively with jokes. :) If you can’t do a full day tour this is a great option.
My friends and I decided to book this tour so we’d get more information about Mount Alban. We had Luis as a guide and he was so knowledgeable, thoughtful, and friendly! This was definitely worth the cost, especially since transportation and admission was included. Plus, we were a group of five so this made the experience much easier for us.
Exactly what we were looking for. Guide Luis did an awesome job explaining the history and culture of this wonderful site. Made sure we were in the shade for the descriptions of each area and gave us the perfect amount of time to ask questions and explore.

This was our second tour with Zapotecos Tours. We had a full day experience with them to Hierve el Agua a couple of days back and wanted to schedule another one with them before we left Oaxaca. We had a wonderful three-hour Monte Alban tour with Luis today. This was our second trip with Zapotecos Tours and, as usual, it was excellent. Luis is a really friendly and enthusiastic guide. He was very well knowledgeable and gave us a super overview of Monte Alban in relation to the Zapotecs and Mixtec cultures. He explained everything about Monte Alban, beginning in the museum and ending with the Zapotec elite residence. He answered every question we had and he gave us enough time to go around on our own. In addition, we really appreciated that Zapotecos Tours arranged for my husband and I to get back to the Zocalo because the rest of the group was doing a longer tour. Also, make sure you go to the Museo de las Culturas de Oaxaca after your Monte Alban tour. So many of the things Luis explained during our tour, we were able to see the actual artifacts in the museum afterward. It was the perfect continuation of the experience. Our preference is shorter experiences with guides when we travel. This was a perfect amount of time -3hrs- to enjoy Monte alban. Thie guide Lis, was knowledgeable with historical as well as general interest facts. We enjoyed!

Monte Alban was our second tour booked with Zapotecos tour. Luis was great and friendly guide throughout our trip. He was both the driver and tour guide. No complaints with these guides. Will book again when I go back.
Pavel was our guide and he was great. We learned so much I can’t believe how he retains all of that info. The service is great, too. It was a very hot day but the van you take has AC and is comfortable. The location is spectacular as well. They have done some restoration so it helps you get a better idea of how they lived. I highly recommend taking this tour!

MARVELOUS TOUR! We did two tours with the Zapotecos agency and both were perfect. In this one at Monte Albán we were accompanied by the guide Lis, who demonstrated a lot of knowledge about the visited sites and was very attentive to the whole group. Our driver was great too.
