The experience is great. Really smooth pick up and journey to get there. Our guide was brilliant and did such a great job. Really recommend this place and tour.

Very enjoyable! Ramy was an excellent guide. My husband and I were the only people on our tour. The pick up point was a little hard to find, I. I would suggest you not only name the address and also a nearby landmark on the site. This may make it easier. Ramy did text and also told us exactly where to meet early that morning. He drove us there in his personal vehicle. He was a safe driver and he pointed out local landmarks. He also shared very interesting cultural information with us. The mezcal tour was very educational. He provided us with active descriptions of the whole mezcal making process. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastically entertaining. We learned quite a bit! I I would highly recommend this tour. We left at 9:15 AM and returned at 2 PM.

We booked the Mezcal Tour Journey with Ramy, which lasted 4.5 hours. We were picked up in Oaxaca, and on the way to the palenque, we were already given lots of interesting information about the history of mezcal. At the distillery, we learned more about the production process, the different types of mezcal, and what makes each one unique. Afterwards, Adriana took us on a wagon ride through the agave fields to a pulquería, where we got to try pulque as well. Along the way, we also enjoyed a typical Oaxacan specialty: memelas. At the end, we had the chance to taste 10 different mezcals. All in all, it was a wonderful and very informative day. Highly recommended!

Our experience was very fun and informative! Ramy was a great guide and made the mezcal demonstration and tasting very enjoyable. Pickup and drop off was also very convenient, especially after the generous amount of Mezcal they let you sample. Definitely worth the price!

Omg, what a fantastic tour it was!!! Four of us had this tour yesterday with Ramy. The pickup was on time and off we went to the distillery. On the way Ramy explained us a lot about not only mezcal but the history of Oaxaca and the area. When we arrived at the distillery, Ramy took his time to explain the whole process and gave us the opportunity to try ourselves as mezcal masters (we got to chop up the pinas) ;-). Afterwards we had a tour of the fields im a cool barrel vehicle and after that we got to try the mezcals. Now I’m absolutely not an expert and wasn’t even sure at first that i wanted to to this tour. But there wasn’t a moment where i regretted it!!! Informative and fantastic tour!!! Do not hesitate, it’s totally worth the money!!! Just do it and ask for Ramy if you can;-)!!!

Excellent tour and Ramy was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and of Mezcal. I was not expecting to enjoy the tour as much as I did! You have ample opportunity to try various beverages or to not if you don't want to. Very low pressure tour that is just the right amount of time. I would recommend to a wide variety of people. The surrounding area is gorgeous and I would have been happy just taking in the scenery! Our Guide was super. He is a former Spainish professor and you can tell his desire to educate comes naturally as he wanted you to learn all about Mexcal. We had a great time and would fully recommend this tour.

There a couple of them but Ramy is a well-recognized host in Oaxaca due to his professionalism, education and experience. He also holds a master’s degree in education from the United States—which truly shows in the way he explains and structures the tour. He has a natural ability to make complex information clear, interesting, and memorable. Ramy truly goes the extra mile to make it special.

One of us took the tour in English and a few of us in Spanish. The host/drivers do not have any direct or exclusive relationship to the distilleries. One can stop by those distilleries by the highway and probably get a tour with samples for way less or who knows, maybe even for free if you show interest in buying a bottle of mezcal. We saw other tourists doing this. The first distillery tour felt rushed and had no structure (nor in English or Spanish). I had experience myself with many tequila tours so I was expecting a deep dive and professional mezcal tour since we were a small group and it was the main focus of the whole trip. Still, I had to push hard to get all details and make sense of the information in a coherent way. Finally the host/driver had no time management so we ended up spending way more time in total that messed up with our late afternoon plans. I’m talking about 2-3 hrs more than stated in the description. There was a lot of waiting, wondering around and a visit to a random food market to eat (completely unplanned). We were sad and disappointed of this tour :/

A wonderful experience with Ramy, our knowledgeable and scholastic guide. He has a love of Oaxaca which he told through the history of mezcal and the process in which it’s made. His pride in his heritage exudes from him. He also delighted us with a wonderful tour of a local favorite open market (it’s only open on Sundays so book then for this plus). There we delighted in goat tacos and a colorful experience of vendors selling their wares - from meat, bread, clothes, and crickets. A true not-to-be-missed experience. Thank you Ramy!!

My partner and I had such a great experience with our host Rami, learning about the process, history and flavours of Mezcal. Rami was a great host, picked us up from central Oxaca and began straight away telling us about the history while we headed out the city. We visited two distilleries, tried more Mezcals than we can remember. Rami was a great host, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would 100% recommend if you’re in Oxaca and interested in Mezcal.

As long as your expectations are right, you will love this tour. Keep in mind this is not a industrial size distillery, it's small and family owned. Therefore the tour is also small and family operated. We were picked up in the square by an individual in his personal vehicle and we drove 45 minutes away to the location. However, the host, Christian, was great, he was very accommodating and did a great job explaining the process.

A very interesting and informative look at the traditional and ancestral method of distilling mezcal. Our guide Rami has a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm for his subject and provided us with a great education on mezcal. Best of all is that you get to taste the end product (and a lot of other different kinds of mezcal).

Mezcal Tour Experience with Ramy was a fun way to have an introduction to the Artisanal Production of Mezcal in the countryside outside of Oaxaca - we loved the tasting, and purchased some great Tobala’ and Añejo exclusive Mezcal … we would highly recommend this tour!

Ramy was awesome. I loved all the detailed information he gave us on the process of making mezcal from the harvesting of the agave to the bottling. Being able to actually see and touch each part of the process was super fascinating and he was such a wealth of knowledge. Going to the agave fields in the barrel truck was okay. The roads are quite bumpy and you have to brace yourself on the wooden benches, the music was very loud, and we were with a real rowdy group. I really enjoyed the stop at the polqueria to try honey water and polque though. I would've preferred if Ramy had shown us around the entire time since I liked his tour style and vibe more. I would absolutely recommend this tour with Ramy even if you're not a big fan of mezcal because it's such a cool facet of Oaxacan culture. I came away appreciating mezcal even if I don't really like the taste much still hah. But seriously, it's a great tour that's so much more than tasting mezcal (although you get to do a lot of that too!)

We shared this experience with our Japanese friends and the four of us loved the tour. Ramy our tourist guide clearly explained all the process to produce mezcal, he guided us through the artesanal steps and explained with detail the differences among agaves. We learnt about mezcal while walking, watching, touching, smelling, drinking and listening. A totally recommended experience!

This was one of the most impressive tours I have ever experienced. Beautiful Mezcal, beautiful country and a wonderful tour guide. Ramy, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and differences of the variety Mezcal we tried. The charming ride out to the agave field in an awesome truck converted into a barrel of Mezcal as beyond beautiful and it was an experience I wont soon forget! This tour was absolutely fabulous. Every single person we interacted with (tour guides, factory workers, taters, etc) were 10/10. They had such great energy and truly loved what the did. They made sure we were having the best time and went above and beyond at every step. The explanations were very helpful and extensive. Everyone spoke excellent English and they were very clear at each step - from pick up to drop off. I rarely leave reviews but they deserve it. Was the perfect way to spend our day! We will definitely be back and book some of their other tours!!

I can't believe how wonderful this tour was. Our guided tour with Christian impressed us with all the information he gave us. I haven't seen anything like that before the process was something that you can't see anywhere in the world just in Oaxaca. We learned so much. He is so knowledgeable! This experience was so much fun! My wife and I booked this on a whim when we were in town and so glad we did! After being picked up and a nice drive to the farm we had a blast with Ramy! He helped up pick out a huge piña to harvest and helped us with understanding all of the work involved in the process. After the harvest we took it back to the distillery and he walked us through the whole process. The tasting was great and he took us for a fabulous lunch after. Highly recommend booking this and ask for Ramy he was Amazing!

I really loved this tour, especially thanks to our guide, Ramiro, who gave us many useful information about the manufacture of mezcal and also the history of Oaxaca. Ramiro was very funny too. I was in a group of 3 people (myself included), so it was a more personal experience. We tried more than 10 delicious mezcals. The tour also included the tasting of other pre-Hispanic drinks. In short, I recommend this tour 100%.
