Dolphin & Whale Watching In Puerto Escondido

We had an amazing tour! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and knew where to go to see the dolphins. We got lucky and also saw turtles, manta rays, and humpback whales. We did not get a chance to swim with the dolphins as we went in search of the whales instead. It was an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend booking with Omar’s tours!

We had such a great time on Omar's boat tour! Today we saw plenty of dolphins, along with turtles, manta rays, and even 3 humpback whales! It was an amazing experience and our guide was very knowledgeable. We would recommend it!

The experience was lovely and safe. The guide was tremendously nice and explained to us everything about marine life. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t swim with the dolphins but it was not the guide’s fault, the dolphins were feeling a little shy that day.

Really great trip with a fantastic host! Communication really clear and super easy to arrange pickup, which arrived on time the next day. Once we got out to sea, we saw loads of dolphins and sea turtles, and our guide pointed out lots of birds and scenery too, with some personal recommendations of beaches. We had a fantastic morning – really special and something we’ll remember forever.

Tour provider no showed. Said it was too rough eventhough other providers were going on tours. No communication. They sent an email the night before that they might have to cancel and would let us know by 8am. No email from tour provider the next morning. I emailed them at 9am and no response. Showed up at the meeting place(the beach where tours start) 30 min prior to tour start. Tour provider never showed up or emailed. Other tour groups were going out on their tours. Our toddler was massively disappointed not to go on a boat and see dolphins.

Great experience. We saw a bunch of dolphins and sea turtles. Our skipper was very careful and courteous. Overall highly recommend.

Amazing trip with our guide Alex. The booking was easy and simple and Omar communicated timely and consistently up to the date of departure. While we didn't see any whales (December is a better month evidently) we did see plenty of beautiful sea turtles and a pod of dolphins joyfully playing with a sea turtle. The boat was comfortable and Alex took great care in making sure the trip was enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Such an unforgettable experience! Everything was communicated via WhatsApp very clearly. On the day of, we arrived early and Omar’s team was already waiting for us. He led us to a breakfast stall and graciously helped translate for us. On the actual boat ride, they pointed out turtles and was very knowledgeable answering our questions. The actual dolphin watching was simply magical. Unfortunately we didn’t see whales as that is an end of fall into winter activity. But 10/10 for experience and customer satisfaction. Would 100% book again!

Must do. We had to end the tour early due to bad weather but even then, we got to see lots of dolphins and turtles. 100% worth it. The organizers were super nice and generous to offer alternatives. We loved it

Great experience and great guide. Did not feel like we were too intrusive at the same time as we saw a lot of dolphins!

It’s not guaranteed that you will see dolphins, but we did and there were many. One of the group got sea sick, the ride was a bit rough. If you tend to get sick, take medication. It was a great trip and well worth the cost.

If you were in the area, this tour is definitely worth its value. There were literally dolphins as far as the I can see and you get a great view of the coastline from the boat. Bring plenty of sunscreen- they provide a bottle of water.

Fantastic trip. Pick up at hotel was included. We saw 2 kinds of dolphins and close up views of several pairs of sea turtles doing there best to propagate the next generation! Several dolphins were jumping and spinning right next to the boat. We got to swim in the ocean for a while with the dolphins but they moved on right after we got in. We spent the afternoon at the beach to the left of the beach where you board the boat. We could even snorkel near the rocks right near the beach and see lots of tropical fish.

We had a great experience on the boat this morning, our Captain was very knowledgeable and friendly! We saw 3 types of dolphins, turtles, whales and manta rays - we were so lucky!! We believe a big part of this luck was due to the talent of our captain though. Good communication and organisation for meeting in the morning and dropped back on time, would highly recommend.

We were very lucky and saw Manta-rays, Turtles, Spotted Dolphins, White-bellied Dolphins, Blue Whales, and Killer Whale. Our pilot was fantastic, and would definitely recommend using the company (just know that the animals are seasonal and wild, so you’ll not always see the same animals on each trip)

The dolphin watching trip was beautifully organized from start to finish. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a great view. Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat was truly unforgettable - highy recommended!

Juan was simply wonderful - so refreshing to be looked after by a tour guide who is clearly so passionate and loves what he does! He was so informative, friendly and kind. They made the effort to ensure we went to spots which weren’t busy with other boats so we didn’t cause any stress to the animals and make a better experience for us too. We saw dolphins, turtles and tuna - no whales but we weren’t expecting to given it was April. Could not recommend it enough! Thank you so much Juan and team :)

Best experience ever! We went at 11 AM and was kind of nervous since we heard that 7 AM is the best time. Sike! We run into hundreds of dolphins. It felt like a dream!

Best day ever! We booked with Omar’s Sportfishing based on its excellent reviews and it did not disappoint. Despite being on the tail end of whale watching season, we saw a mom and her calf (breaching) within a few minutes of the tour. Captain Alex was fantastic. We saw a huge pod of dolphins and had the opportunity to jump in the water (several times) and swim with them which was an all-time life experience for me! We also saw a turtle. It was WELL worth the money and easily one of the best days of our trip. 10/10 recommend booking your dolphin and whale tour with Omar’s Sportfishing. We are keen to do a fishing charter when we’re next in PE based on our experience! If you’re thinking about it, do it!

The experience was épic. We got to see a bunch of dolphines and few turtels, we miss the sales since the season was almost over but still worth it. The captain had a lot of knowledge about the sea and fauna. The boat was very confortable. If we ever go back to puerto we will do it again.

Fun trip was well organized and we were lucky to see lots of wildlife. Requested to get in and swim with the dolphins. Host was very friendly. Would highly recommend.

We received a very friendly greeting and many updates on when the tour would depart. Diego our captain was very outgoing and made the trip informative and fun. We didn’t see any whales but we saw many turtles and three different species of dolphins who put on quite a show for us! I thought it was a three hour tour but we were only out for two hours.

Amazing tour, saw a couple of humpbacks and tracked them for a while as well as loads of dolphins and other fish. The captain was very knowledgeable and fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the morning and would recommend Omar’s tour.

The amount of wildlife we saw was unbelievable! I anticipated that we might see a dolphin or two but from the time we pushed the boat off the dock we saw SO MUCH. Our highlight was being surrounded with hundreds of dolphins, watching a baby whale and mother, and manta rays swim around with one shooting out of the water to belly flop. The guide was very informative and the boats work together to share locations - I would highly recommended this to someone to spend a memorable morning in Puetro Escondido!

We got lucky and ran into a school of dolphins, a humpback whale and its baby and a turtle. Very well organized and definitely a great experience! The boat drivers communicate with each other so if one of them finds something they call each other so the other boats can come and see it

We had a great time with Jose Omar! We saw dolphins, turtles, whales. Jose and Aron were good communicators and flexible, and excellent hosts! Half our party was delayed arriving to P.E. and couldn't make the prearranged tour time. Jose was willing to take them at a later time. Thank you, Jose and Aron!

Picked up on time. We got to see a pod of dolphins and swim with them which was a dream come true!

We booked the private boat for family of 6. We had an incredible time! We saw a massive school/pod of dolphins and even got to swim with them. We saw three different types of dolphins. We also saw turtles and 4 humpback whales. We had a wonderful view of the coastline on the way back as well. The tour guide was very informative. Would highly recommend!

Unbelievable experience! We saw a whale, many turtles and hundreds of dolphins in a huge pod. We were even able to swim with the dolphins after watching them swim alongside our boat. We weren’t expecting to see so many animals and understood that it very much depends on Mother Nature and luck. We feel very lucky to have had this experience. We cannot recommend it higher!
