Boat Trip To See Marine Life In Puerto Escondido

What an amazing experience. We saw so many dolphins, all morning. We also saw sea turtles mating. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see dolphins. And the guide Alex was great.

We did the 7am tour with Alex after being told the 11am would be too windy and wouldn't be likely to see as much sea life. The weather was perfect and we managed to see 3 whales, 3 species of dolphin, turtles and manta rays! Alex was awesome and really informative would 100% recommendn

+ super friendly guide + changed to multiple locations to see dolphines, whales, rays and turtles I wish we had used the full 3 hours instead of just 2,2 but I guess we saw all the animals.

Was an incredible trip! We saw whales, turtles and got into a pod of dolphins with over 200 dolphins! Very magical! The guide was also very concerned about the animals making sure we didn’t stay too long and stress the animals out, even expressing we were leaving from the whales to make sure they were not stressed. We were picked up from our hotel by a taxi from the company and we were able to stay after the trip at the beach and hang out taking our own taxi back at the end of the day.

It's not guaranteed that you will see whales and dolphins, but thanks to our captain, we found some humpback whales, and a pod of dolphins! Great adventure. I recommend doing this in the morning before the wind kicks up.

We took the early 7 am boat trip, which was nice seeing the sunrise. The guide on the boat was very good and spoke clear English. We were able to see 2 humpback whales early on in the trip and a couple more on our way back. They kept their distance from the whales and shut the motor off so as not to disturb them. We also saw a couple sightings of turtles and came on a large pod of dolphins. All in all it was a very successful trip and a beautiful day. I also liked that there were only 8-9 of us on the boat. I would recommend Omar to anyone visiting Puerto Escondido.

Absolutely incredible. We were in the middle of many pods of dolphins, saw a family of humpback whales, a manta ray and a couple cute turtles. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and took care of the group. This was a highlight of our entire trip to Mexico.

Great experience, the crew took care to not overcrowd the sea life and took us to more secluded spots. We saw so many dolphins, as well as whales and turtles - it was an amazing experience and one of my favourite things I’ve done in Mexico.

My wife and i were excited to go out and hopeful that we would see some whales. This excursion went far beyond our expectations. It started slow but sailing by the coast was a beautiful way ti start the day. we started out looking for whales but the activity was slow. we did however see sea turtles and rays. after that Johnny and Marco took us out to see dolphins. We ended up in yhe middle of a 1000 + pod of spinner dolphins. the experience and videos were amazing. After spendeng some good time witht the dolphins we started back in. It was not looking hopefule for the whales but just when we thought we would have to try again Johny spotted a water spout. we ended up seeing three humpback whales. we saw everything we set out to see, and Johny and Marco were bery knolegable as well as super friendly and an all around joy to be around. i would recomend this charter to anyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience.

Really great trip- we saw tons of dolphins, a whale and turtles. The captain was great - very friendly and added an extra 30 mins so we could hang out with the whale longer. Everyone had a great time, easy to coordinate, thank you! Highly recommend.

Just book this tour, it’s a small tour so it books up fast,Alex is amazing guide. We seen whales,dolphins,turtles, so much fun. It didn’t feel like he was doing a job,it felt like he loved every second of it with us,he was as excited as we were.Pick up is from certain hotels so pay attention to that,also you’re on your own to get back to your hotel,but there’s taxis everywhere and they’re fairly cheap. Also the beach you leave from has a bunch of little shops restaurants, and is one of the best swimming beaches around here. My pictures aren’t great because I was too busy watching to take a lot of pictures.

Nice experience, also the team cares about the animals and their safety. Everyone is friendly knows what they are doing. Of course they can’t garantee something because it’s unpredictable wildlife. Also their going their on way, means you’re not on the places where everyone else’s boat is. And their not playing loud music unlike another boat we saw.

Very nice Trip with respect of the animals and nature. We saw sea turtle, dolphin and many more. In the right time whales are also possible to be seen.

This dolphin trip is great. We saw a lot of dolphins and sea turtles! Also able to swim a little bit for like 5 min. The tour guide can talk in both Spanish and English. Attention it’s only pick up from hotel included. When dolphin boat trip finished, you have to go back by yourself

Wonderful experience seeing families of spotted dolphins and a very large school of spinner dolphins. Also saw sea turtles and dolphins bullying sea turtles. So much fun and great guide!

If you want to do a marine life tour, go with these guys! We actually went 3 times during our stay in Puerto Escondido. First time was with another company that was just OK (the captain played loud music and did not give any information about the animals, the tour was 2 hours insted of the announced 3 which meant we missed a whale that other boats saw) so we chose to go again for the chance to see whales, but this time with Omar's tour, and oh my god what a difference! First day we managed to see lots of dolphins, jumping manta rays, turtles, and a whale that surfaced right next to our boat! We were so happy with the experience we went another day! We were only four people on the boat and captain Alex let us pick our priority (whales) and we got to see 4 of them, including a baby that was jumping! Alex gave us so much information, cared about respecting the animals and focused on not being around all the other boats. Would definitely recommend this tour to everybody!! The tour was amazing and we successfully saw all kinds of marine life! From a huge school of dolphins to manta rays, turtles, stingrays, and pelicans, and even a few whales. Our guide was very informative and took great care to ensure that everyone saw everything.

Alex was an amazing guide. Gave lots of information on the turtles, dolphins and whales and was more concerned with ensuring we saw the whales (lots of them) than rushing back. Couldn't be happier we found Omar's/Alex.

Amazing. Capitan Alex went out of his way to find the best spots for whale, dolphin and turtle watching. He’s so enthousiastic and it was a joy to be on his boat. I’m pretty sure he could beat Chuck Norris in an arm wrestling match too. Thanks again Alex!

It was amazing. Hundreds of dolphins jumping in front of the boat. And whales in the distance. We were spoiled! Very nice and enthusiastic captain. Loved it. Pick-up at my hotel on time. Everything was well organized.

Alex was a truly amazing tour guide. I think this was the best tour i ever did. Definitely because we swan with dolphines and saw whales, but also because alex made the tour so much fun. He was funny, kind, super enthusiastic and had a lot of knowledge, which he shared with us throughout the trip. Its nice to see that someone who has done this job for quite a while has such a passion for it, which really rubs off on his guests. We didnt have any cash on us at the time, but i made sure to go back after we had been to an atm, to give alex a tip, because he really deserved it!

Alex was a great boat guide. We had so much fun. We saw humpback whales, turtles and got a beautiful coastal tour of Puerto Escondido. He was so knowledgeable about the sea life of the area and found us great places to swim with the fish!

A group of my friends and I had the best experience with Omar’s tour today. We went out on his boat for three hours and saw sea turtles, Rays, pods of dolphins and 6 humpback whales. It was amazing. Our guide, Alex, was so nice and knowledgeable. He seems to love what he does and put all of us in a good mood. Omar was in contact with me a few times to confirm the weather, our meeting place, directions and the cost for our tour, which I really appreciated. This is an adventure not to be missed when in Puerto Escondido. We all just loved it.

This was hands down one of the most magical experiences of my life. We got so lucky—we were surrounded by a school of dolphins, literally hundreds of them swimming and jumping all around the boat. It was absolutely surreal. It felt like watching a national geographic documentary. On top of that, we spotted whales and so many sea turtles! I have to say, none of this would’ve been possible without the incredible guidance of Israel and Izzy. Before booking this tour, I spent a lot of time researching because I don’t enjoy tours that feel too commercialized or crowded. I also had one major priority: I wanted to ensure the marine life was respected. And from moment we took off, I knew I was with the right people. What Made It Special: 1. Amazing Guides Israel and Izzy were amazing—they just knew where to go. Instead of sticking with the crowds, they took us to quieter spots, which made the whole experience feel so much more intimate and unique. You could tell they truly care about what they do and respect the wildlife. 2. Small Group, Private Feel The boat was smaller, which we loved. There were only five of us that day because a couple of people canceled, so it felt really personal. When I saw other boats packed with 15-20 people, I was so grateful I’d chosen this tour. 3. We booked with Omar to go whale and dolphin watching. Alex, our captain, was excellent! His passion for the sea was obvious and his knowledge was impressive. We saw whales up-close, spinner dolphins and Golfina turtles. Alex handled the boat respectfully and responsibly. We felt safe and comfortable on the boat. Thanks for a perfect morning on the sea!

We went with the guide Alex. He was very enthusiastic and told us a lot about sea life over here. We saw turtles mating, dolphins jumping, dolphins playing with a turtle and we saw whales. We really enjoyed it! :) Instead of following all the other boats we took our time, went our own way and had the most beautiful sightings.

We loved the experience! We saw dolphins, turtles and whales. The team is very professional. They think about the preservation and conservation of the animals and explained very interesting things about it. José was our captain. He was fantastic. Also, they don't disturb the animals, they are very responsible about that. I think this is very important when it comes to select an option to see animals in their wild life.

Amazing experience! We saw just about everything! Multiple humpback whales, turtles, manta rays, and most importantly, hundreds of dolphins. Our captain Alex tried very hard to stay ahead of the pack of boats, and he did an amazing job of navigating us to where the wildlife was. We also had three opportunities to get in the water and swim with the dolphins, which was incredible.

The owner of the company Omar was so so nice! Our guide was a different man who was nice, my friend and I were the only English speakers on the boat and he translated what he was saying about 60% of the time, and other people on the boat actually started translating for us because they felt bad. But we saw tons of dolphins, two sea turtles and humpback whales and it was really cool. The beach you finish at is lovely for swimming and snorkeling so bring some snacks and stuff to hangout there for a while.

We had an amazing time on the boat tour! The guide did a fantastic job sharing information and fun facts with us in English, which was especially helpful since we don’t speak Spanish. During the tour, we spotted dolphins, whales, and turtles, and even had the chance to hop into the water. The team was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond by arranging a prepaid taxi to pick us up from our hotel. It was a truly unforgettable experience!

Amazing crew that did so much to ensure we saw whales, dolphins, and turtles. The crew made sure we were out the earliest so we were first to see the whales before they were disturbed by other boats. Incredible time that I would recommend and love to do again! The wind was quite strong making the sea quite choppy but the crew made sure to check in to ensure we were okay and made sure we were safe!

The contact in advance via whatsapp was very good. Quick responses and it was friendly and clear. With guide Alex we were the only ones to spot the humpback whale in our morning. This was on the way back, so he gave us half an hour more time. Also spotted many dolphins and sea turtles. Fantastic guide and nice experience.

Not like we expected. But not in a good way. The tour guide didn’t speak any English, he didn’t introduce himself and we didn’t even feel like we were on a tour. Yes we saw some dolphins and at some point we were offered to go swimming with masks but WITHOUT snorkels. By then most of the dolphins were gone already. And be careful, it’s ONLY PICK UP, you have to get a taxi to get back. Don’t pay for this tour, save some money and go with a different tour that does not offer pick up and organize your own transportation. We spoke with some other people, the tours are all the same! We also didn’t get any life vests, which wasn’t a problem for us but maybe for some people it’s good to know.

We picked Omar to do a boattrip with because of the great reviews, and were not dissapointed. The morning we went the sea was quite rocky, but Omar made us feel safe, checked in with everyone (every couple of minutes) and only sailed on for as long as responsible. His English is good, which not only makes you feel safe and at ease but mostly…you get to learn about the ocean!! Omar knows a lot about marine life and really did his best to find as many animals as possible. We saw lots of doplhins (jumping!), sea turtles and mantareys. You could feel his love for them and the water, eventhough this is his everyday job. It was just a really special experience, worth waking up early for…and we’d do it again in a heartbeat - but with Omar only!
