This was probably the best experience we have done, in any country. Our guides Jose and Ivan were excellent in explaining the process, setting everything up and making sure we had a great time. They helped us catch a couple of sailfish and battle a marlin which got away! Even when there weren’t bites we had a lot of fun enjoying the weather and spotting some dolphins and turtles in the deep blue ocean. A real pinch yourself experience that was worth every penny!

We booked a mixed tour of fishing and wildlife watching for our family and it was wonderful. Our host for the day José was constantly making sure we are good and enjoying our time. My husband was excited to catch his first saltwater fish (a big beautiful sailfish) and along the way we saw dolphins and sea turtles. Jose even went out of his way to take us to a spot where dolphins had been spotted by another boat and we saw an amazing group of dolphins. Highly recommend booking with them.

We had a fantastic half-day fishing trip with Omar’s and captain Alex. My two boys, father-in-law, and I spent a beautiful morning out, fishing for Bonito first to get warmed up and then heading out to deep water seeking Sailfish and Mahi. Had great luck on our day out, and had a great bonus of watching Bottlenose Dolphins surfing at the bow of the boat. Overall, and fantastic day out with a friendly, professional crew. Exceeded our expectations, which were already high given all of the great reviews!

What a great day! Our captain was a lovely dude and told us we’d be hunting sailfish but if we got lucky we might get the opportunity to reel in a tuna. And boy did we get lucky!! And 88kg monster of a tuna that took us 90 mins to reel in. Highly recommend. A great day on the water even if you don’t catch anything we still saw plenty of turtles and dolphins.

Was a great day we ended up with 5 sailfish the boys didn’t stop working hard all day changing bait and the rigs. Definately worth the money!

We respectfully brought one back to shore to have it cleaned and filleted for a fresh, delicious meal, while we released the other three back into the sea. First, we did the 8 hour trip, which was not listed on the dropdown. If you are serious about taking such a trip, consider the 8 hour over the 5 hour. In our case, the extra hours were important due to a mid-day lull in activity. Did this on a whim. Always wanted to go on a private ocean fishing charter, but they are a quite a bit more expensive north of the border. My wife encouraged me to take a chance, and it was an absolute thrill. First, all communication with Omar was excellent and clear. My Spanish is sub-par, but Omar's English was excellent. On the appointed morning, a cab was waiting outside our accomidations at 6:30 sharp, as promised, and we were quickly wisked to our awaiting boat, and we were off by 7:00. Our crew were Alex as captain and Daniel as mate. These guys were absolutely awesome. They were as excited to be out there on the water fishing as I was. They even got my wife excited to be out there too. On the way out, they pointed out schools of rays jumping out of the water like popcorn, dozens of sea turtles just hanging out on the surface, and hundreds of dolphins, of two species, spotted and white belly, swimming to from all directions, checking us out, and following the boat. I have never seen this much aquatic wildlife action in such a concentrated spot. These guys used cues from the wildlife and what they saw, rather than fancy electronics, to find the fish. And find they did. Less than an hour in, we had the first significant hit, but were not able to get it on the hook. No matter, less than 30 minutes later, we did get a nice Pacific Sailfish on, and he started tearing away at breakneck speed. They both hollered "screaming reels" and told me to let the fish run for a bit. As I am a bit new at this, both Daniel and Alex provided much needed coaching, and Alex provided some very skilled boat handling to assist. About 20 minutes later, Daniel was able to bring the beauty shown below up for a quick photo before being released. We tried for a couple more hours, without further results, until Alex and Daniel noticed schools of yellowfin tuna breaking the water in a feeding frenzy. We spent the next couple of hours chasing them down, landing 7 nice specimens, and losing 2. Again, Daniel and Alex were going after these tuna with gusto. We began about 9 miles out, and ended up 15 miles out, at the conclusion of our chase. Alex was relentlessly chasing them down like a skilled border collie after some wayward sheep, while Daniel and I were jigging the lures in back. Again, I'm totally new at this, but they provided enough coaching that I was able to make a couple catches start to finish. My wife also had a blast bringing a couple tuna in. We kept the fillets from two fish to have prepared, both as ceviche and grilled, at a local restaurant. Delicious. Honestly, I can't think of anything Alex or Daniel could have done to make the day any better. A very memorable trip. In addition, on the way back in, when we were all a bit tired, Alex noticed a pair of sea turtles mating on the surface. He slowed the boat, and made a couple of wide circles such that we could get a better view, and take a couple photos. He was as excited to share this unusual scene as we were to see it. As a light skinned gringo I will offer three suggestions. First, bring pleanty of 50+ SPF sunscreen. Second, wear a long sleeve, sun rated shirt (rashguard). Finally, if you can find one, bring a neck gaiter, like what Daniel has on in the sailfish photo. The sun reflecting off of the water is every bit as intense as the direct rays. Brief summary, just go!

We had an amazing sport fishing experience with Omar. His boat and equipment are all in great condition and Omar brings with it many years of fishing experience. We had three good hits and had three decent size sailfish on board, photos and safely back in the water. Omar and his crew worked hard to ensure that we had a great day. On top of the great fishing we were lucky enough to see hundreds of dolphins. Thanks Omar.

This trip is incredible!!!!! Dolphins, turtles and the most amazing pacific sailfish!!! They even fillet the fish on the boat so you can eat it for lunch! This was our favourite trip of the holiday, if you get the chance go! Such lovely Captain, so organised and top notch fishing gear. My son reeled the fish in himself - memory for life ❤️

I have gone fishing with Omar at least a dozen times. Always a fun day. His boat and gear are top notch and well maintained. He is very knowledgeable and knows everything there is to know about fishing and sealife in general. Omar speaks excellent English which is great for me since my Spanish is not great but taking Spanish classes starting next month. This year I had a friend with me that had never gone deep sea fishing before and it was quite a day. TEN Sailfish in five hours! My previous best was five a few weeks earlier. José and Alex were fantastic. Very knowledgeable anglers. We caught two sailfish and two yellowfin. They cleaned our fish and arranged a taxi for us upon our return.

Alex and his crew member were so awesome to fish with. My girlfriend and I were able to each catch a large sail fish. The crew was kind and helpful and overall gave us an amazing experience. They also provided water and fruit on the boat. We ended up keeping one of the sailfish so they took us to a restaurant that prepared the fish for us in multiple different ways. Eating it raw like sashimi was our favorite. It was so fresh and they let us take a good amount home. We were able to get several meals out of the fish we caught with them. I would highly recommend this company when looking into charter fishing in Puerto Escondido. 11/10 would do it again. An experience we will both never forget!

We had an unbelievable day out with captain Ulises! We caught a big sale fish and then he took us to see the dolphins and humpback whales - it was the most incredible experience and this trip had everything! He then prepared the fish and took us to a local restaurant on the beach where we ate the fish we caught - it was prepared in three different ways! Would highly recommend this experience and especially captain ulises!

My girlfriend and I had a 10/10 trip with Omar and Jose. Not only were they extremely friendly, kind and professional, they also put us on multiple sailfish right away by trolling rigged and live baits. We had a half day of big game fishing with Omar, captain of the Black Pearl, and his amazing fisherman son. After an initial stop to catch live bait on the coast we headed out to sea where among the whale dolphins and turtles we got what we wanted, a battle with the ocean predators. A nice sailfish of over 30 kg was a nice reward. Worth trying again.

What an amazing day with Omar. Absolute professional at finding the fish and knows the area better than anyone. Alongside the great fishing we saw an abundance of dolphins and whales. Both Omar and Jose were great fun to be with and we had a brilliant time.

I went with my girlfriend, and it was a perfect way to start the day. Made it easy - picked us up from our hotel, which was somewhat remote, and got us home. Saw dolphins, turtles, flying fish. We had a wonderful experience fishing in puerto escondido. 3 Hours of waiting the Fish , just watching doulphins, turtles, flying fishes and then it arrived!!!! A big vela Marlin….thanks to the crew and then the chef !!!!

This was a highlight of the trip to Puerto Escondido. Yuan has 30 years experience and knows where to find the fish. We left at 7am in a boat that fits 4-5 adults comfortably. The currents moved overnight but he found the right place so all four of us could catch a sailfish. We also found a school of small dolphins who swam with us for 10 minutes. We kept one sailfish and after the trip he found us a restaurant on the beach to cook it up for lunch. He gave us extra leftovers to take home and for an extra cost he organized a mother/son to come to our house rental the next day to cook us dinner. The dinner was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend adding to the experience. Overall a great day and would do again if we cone back.

Omar and his crew are wonderful. I loved the boat and was very comfortable and safe, surrounded by the most beautiful water I have ever seen. We saw tortugas, dolphins and countless sea birds. Omar has fished here all his life and shared his knowledge of the ocean and sea life. And we caught a gorgeous Pacific Sailfish at the end! I could tell that we also had a really good chance at Marlin. We released the sailfish safely and quickly after a few photos. What a magnificent creature. It was such a smooth day. Omar arranged for a taxi to get me at my hotel and take me right to the boat in the morning. When we returned, I had an amazing lunch at a beautiful restaurant in Puerto Angelito. Talking with a few folks there, they all said Omar is the best guide and fisherman around. If you are thinking if fishing in the Puerto Escondido area, I couldn’t recommend him more!

We did a full day of sport fishing. When we arrived Omar will tell you what we are able to fish for (based on water conditions), for us that meant bill fish. We picked up some fresh bait and then headed out to fish. Omar is very friendly and welcoming. He provides Gatorades and waters, and the boat has shade which is very much needed because it gets hot out there. Omar checked in on us throught the trip to make sure we were comfortable and having fun. He offered tips on how to combat sea sickness, and made us feel safe. Omar worked hard to put us on fish. We ended up hooking up twice and catching two sailfish. Additionally, while we were looking for fish, we were able to see dolphins, sea turtles, and even an orca! The fishing was exhilarating, and seeing all the other ocean wildlife was fun. Omar is a great guide. We had a blast. Highly recommend!
