We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Everything was excellent, but what truly made the experience special was the outstanding attention and kindness from Jose Luis and Angy. They are incredibly sweet with guests, extremely professional, and always made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The hotel owner is very lucky to have them, because they completely change and elevate the whole guest experience. Their warmth and professionalism really exceeded our expectations. The only thing worth mentioning is that there seems to be an issue with insects, as the rooms are completely open to the outdoors. We believe the hotel should provide higher-quality insect repellent, both for guests to apply on their skin and as a spray for the rooms. Thank you for making our stay so nice and relaxing.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after spending the last three weeks travelling through Mexico -from the energy of Mexico City to the wild beauty of the coast -this place stayed in my mind. We visited many beautiful locations and stayed in some amazing hotels, but if you are looking for privacy, peace, and the feeling of escaping the world for a while, this place definitely delivers. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and waking up surrounded by nature felt special . The food deserves its own mention. Breakfast was honestly one of the best of all meals there, except Coffee ( but that might be just me ) You can feel the passion in the kitchen -there is real talent there. My only challenge to the chef: start baking your own bread! A good sourdough would perfectly complete what is already a wonderful experience. This is NOT a polished luxury resort, and that is part of its charm. The hotel could use a few upgrades, but if you enjoy a little adventure and don’t mind nature being close, you may actually love it more because of that. The rooms are not fully insulated, so insects and tiny lizards occasionally become your unexpected roommates. During storms, the ocean can sound powerful and almost intimidating at night -but somehow that made the experience even more unforgettable for us. Most of the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming, although the reception experience could have been better. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place to travellers who want something more authentic, private, and connected to nature rather than something perfect and overly polished.
The experience at Hotel Escondido was overall okay. Last two days were awful due to a privatisation without notice of the hotel from a group with kids and dogs. The hotel is supposely adult only and we would have never come and pay that price if we knew kids would be running around the pool, yelling by the pool, entering without control in our private bungalow. This should not be allowed and hotel staff didn’t do anything to apologize or compensate. The hotel is really beautiful, some of the staff are amazing like Mario, Edwin and they really did there best for us to have the best experience. However, as many people commented before, Angel the receptionnist is just extremely rude and impolite… The restaurant experience is average by how slow is the service, but food is okay. Quite pricy for what is it, and lack of variety if you stay more than 3 days and have allergies or something. Wine are extremely expensive. We paid over 300€ for a Moet Chandon bottle… no comment. Also, because of the group thingy, they forced us to leave the hotel before 2PM. We were informed the day before…. Also, the loud music with bad curation, at breakfast is a turn-off. Unfortunately, not sure we will come back, really the adult only hotel with 5 kids running around and 4 dogs barking non stop is a NO GO.
We had an excellent vacation here. The beach is broad. Beautiful sand, gorgeous ocean. Exquisite sunrise and sunset viewing on the beach. Tranquil and private. Fresh, delicious food. The rooms are great. Nice design and you sleep with the sounds of crashing waves and your own private room pools for late night dip. The staff will help you with anything you desire. Making special meals, anything, anytime. Lovely service 100%. Do not miss the omakase dinner a short walk away. We cancelled our excursions and just stayed onsite for the whole time (which is highly unusual for us). Love this boutique hotel experience. And thank you to Mario!
This hotel is beautiful, but it needs a refresh. The location, beach, surroundings, and setup of this hotel are stunning. The pool is great and the rooms are spacious. However, a refresh of the rooms is highly necessary. Not only do the AC units not really work, but the rooms also have no proper insulation, so heat and insects can freely enter. There were insects in the roof of our bungalow that dropped waste onto our bed, and I woke up with plenty of bites all over my legs and arms (still not sure if this was potentially bedbugs…). The Wi-Fi also did not work properly most of the time, which can be frustrating. The food was great - the quality of the ingredients seemed fresh, and we particularly enjoyed breakfast. Dinner service starts at 8 p.m., which personally is a bit late for us (especially since the sun sets around 6), so this is something they could consider adjusting for guests who prefer to dine earlier. The service overall was good. They were accommodating with several things; however, they do charge for every single small item. For example, when we departed and asked for water for the journey, they wanted to charge extra, which felt odd for a luxury hotel. Overall, if they were to refresh the rooms, I would 100% recommend this hotel. 😊
