Itinerary
The tour begins at the Hauptmarkt, a place full of history, colors and aromas from the fruit, vegetable and flower stalls.
At 12 noon the bells of the Frauenkirche ring and the "Männleinlaufen" come into play, 16th-century automata that tell us the imperial history of Nuremberg. The Männleinlaufen gives us an insight into the importance of Nuremberg for the Nazi Party conventions. A fascinating story not to be missed.
The Fleischbrücke is the only bridge that remained standing despite the bombing of the city during World War II.
Completed in 1477, the Church of St. Lawrence has a long tradition in the southern district of Nuremberg. Next to the church, we find a monument that speaks to the victims of National Socialism. A place of reflection and understanding of 20th-century history.
The Holy Spirit Hospital was once the largest hospital building in the Holy Roman Empire. A place steeped in history that speaks to Nuremberg's economic and political power.
The Beautiful Fountain is a summary of the worldview of an ordinary citizen in the medieval Gothic period. Despite the passing of time, the traditions remain, and anyone who touches the ring achieves a certain degree of good fortune.
The Old Town Hall in Nuremberg demonstrates the power of the city's bourgeoisie.
St. Sebald's Church is the most important church in Nuremberg. A Protestant church worth visiting for its history and religious objects.
Nuremberg Castle is the city's hallmark. From every angle, you can appreciate this marvelous medieval complex, which showcases the power of the Holy Roman Empire and which National Socialism adopted as the Secret Capital of the Third Reich. Here we will also discuss the importance of the Nuremberg Trials as a way to overcome the madness of war through justice and reason.
Germany's greatest artist, Albrecht Dürer, was born and lived in Nuremberg. His story and work are scattered throughout museums, but his roots and sources of inspiration lie in this city.
Tiergärtnertor Square is one of the city's most beautiful squares, frequented by locals and a typical meeting place. The area is full of bars and restaurants inviting us to relax after a fascinating tour of Nuremberg.

Perfect tour and Hannes is a wonderful guide. We only had one day in Nuremberg and we honestly weren’t sure what we were going to do but my husband found a free walking tour through Viator so we decided to give it a go. The meeting place was exact. It was easy to find and our guide was great. We learned so much more than we would ever learned just walking around on our own. We are so glad we did it!
Vittorio was fantastic. I learned more about German history in his two hour tour than in 4 years of high school history classes. Vittorio was concise in his information and always willing to answers all questions. His knowledge is vast and he presents it in a very interesting and engaging way. I would highly recommend a tour with Vittorio. He is 5 star in every aspect!
Could have used a little more clarity on exactly where to meet. Otherwise tour was fantastic and better than we could have hoped for considering the cost. Vittorio was funny and enthusiastic and made the tour very enjoyable. We would totally recommend!
Very informative and well paced. Martin is a great guide. Wear comfortable shoes to be able to easily access all sites.
Experienced Tour guide Viktor took us thorough all the crucial landmarks of the city with ease and his historical knowledge helps big time in the walking tour. Will recommend him and the tour!
Victor(Vittorio) was a very knowledgeable and personable guide who gave us great insights of Nürnberg during our 2 hour walk around the town
Viktor was very knowledgeable about the history of Nuremburg. He kept us engaged the entire time and recommended things to do and eat while we were here. I highly recommend starting your trip with this tour.
Vicky is a great tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended really great places to eat.
Excellent tour, informative and well-paced with Victor, a very knowledgeable guide. We covered a lot of ground and several hundred years of history. Nurenberg is an amazing and beautiful city which has to be seen to be believed. Very highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our 2+ hour tour with Martin. He was entertaining and a great story teller. It was a great mix of history and present Nuremberg culture. We took his recommendations for lunch and for a future day trip and thoroughly enjoyed both. I highly recommend taking this tour. It made me wish we had more time in the city to explore more of what we learned.
Very informative walk around the beautiful city of Nuremberg, taking in historic sights and finishing at pretty Tiergarten square for lunch and beer!
Great introduction to Nuremberg - so much more to it than the Trials. Our guide (Martin) was fantastic. Communicated via What’s App prior to the tour to ensure we were able to find our meeting place. Highly recommend!
We had a very insightful tour in Spanish with Vicky, she is Argentinian.A great experience. We liked it very much.Recommended
Valentina was great!! She introduced us the city, its history and the food, giving us good advices on what to eat, drink and do! Also she made us feel very comfortable. She is very easy to talk to!
Great review of the old city with very knowledgeable guide. Good balance of the old and new. Would recommend.
We had the opportunity to take a walking tour of Nuremberg with Victor, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. He is one of the best tour guides we have encountered during our numerous city tours around the world. Victor's extensive knowledge, clear and articulate communication, warm and approachable manner, and expert logistics management made the trip smooth, engaging, and enjoyable. His deep understanding of the subject, combined with a humorous approach, contributed to an excellent tour. The tour lasted about three hours and included highlights of various historical sites, culinary experiences, and shopping areas. I would highly recommend Victor to anyone looking for an experienced guide for a tour of Nuremberg.
It wasn’t advertised as a political / religious tour, so a bit surprised by the value judgements from the guide and one could perceive discomfort by some of the visitors
Our tour guide, Victorio was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, engaging and extremely helpful. The tour was beyond my expectations.
Vittorio was the best tour guide we could have wished for. He was passionate about his job and knew a lot of important and interesting facts about the city, culture and the history. Thanks for having our international group in your tour today. We would recommend the tour!
Victor was among. He was very knowledgeable and guided a great tour. Great day for an informational tour around the city.
Voctorio is an excellent guide! Loved his approach to. History, culture etc. fun, invigorating and an asset to Nurnburg!
My tour guide was Martin. He was energetic and really knowledgeable about Nürnberg. He supplemented his tour with images, which was a great value-add and he was very open to questions and getting to learn about us on an individual level between walking to different sights. So far as I know, Martin is fluent in English, German and Spanish. This is a free tour so please tip generously as he does a great job. I definitely recommend for foreigners or even locals and solo travelers or friends. My tour group size was about 12 people.
Very interesting excursion with a knowledgable guide. I would strongly recommend to anyone coming for a short time and looking to learn as much as possible.
Our guide, Martin was great. He was very informative, telling us lots of facts about Nuremburg history and culture. He was very approachable and answered many questions!
A lovely comprehensive tour with accurate information and set at an active but good pace. My guide, Martin was the extraordinary knowledgeable and completely friendly and gracious. H e wasn't "white washing" anything and for this I was grateful.
Claudio is very pleasant, very attentive to the group, and provides interesting information.
Today I had a tour of Nuremberg with Vicky. Without exaggerating in one word: AMAZING! Vicky knows how to connect the history of this city with contemporary life in a fun, refreshing way. Her explanation is fluent, clear, and sprinkled with humor. Our advice is DO IT!
Claudio is a very prepared, kind, and receptive guide to all requests for information. Perfect
We took this tour with Claudio, an exceptional guide who brought us a little closer to the history of this beautiful city. Highly recommended.
Claudio has been excellent, making the tour interesting and pleasant. He gives a lot of important information to understand the city and the situation of the population in the different eras.
Claudio is an excellent guide full of knowledge, very pleasant and agreeable, he conveys information clearly and precisely, a real success, excellent tour
Our tour with Federico was, without a doubt, one of the best we have ever done. He is an extraordinarily intelligent guide, very well-informed and with a great ability to convey history in an interesting and entertaining way. He not only explained the historical and architectural aspects of Nuremberg, but also shared very valuable information about the local gastronomy, culture, and numerous recommendations that made the city come to life. In addition to his extensive knowledge, we want to highlight his enormous kindness and human quality. We traveled with a family member who uses a wheelchair and Federico was attentive to us throughout the entire tour, helping us whenever it was necessary and adapting the tour with an incredibly generous and natural attitude. That level of attention made a big difference for our group. He was absolutely punctual, answered all questions with patience and enthusiasm, and managed to keep the group's interest throughout the entire tour. We recommend Federico without any reservation. If you have the opportunity to take a tour with him, do not hesitate. It will be one of the best memories of your visit to Nuremberg!
We booked a city tour of Nuremberg, which we did with Vittorio. Honestly, thank you, thank you, thank you! The explanations were excellent, we learned a lot, and I was able to do the tour with my young dog; it was really great. I cannot express how happy I am! My mother and I are truly sorry for not leaving a better tip because it was really very good; thank you for the warm welcome and the exchanges!
Claudio proved to be a very prepared, patient and very helpful guide. The Tour went beyond our expectations and gave us a surprisingly in-depth overview of the city. Very interesting experience, shame not to have time to try the others!
Very interesting tour, has made us discover many details of the city that if we had not known. The guide Claudio very friendly and charismatic, has recommended many places and places to eat and drink. Highly recommended.
Being staying in Munich a group of friends, we went to meet in Nuremberg one day. The best thing that could happen to us is to match up with the guide Claudio. With his entertaining and documented explanations, he has managed to bring us closer to the whole history of the city, which is spectacular. It has been close, but professional, with excellent recommendations, making our visit a unique experience. Thank you very much Claudio!
Wonderful free tour with Claudio, you can see that he loves what he does and that conveys it. It made the tour super enjoyable, interesting and fun. It was my first time in the city and I find nuremberg but I will definitely repeat with them another time and recommend it because it is worth 100% Thank you!
We had a great weekend in Nuremberg my family and I. Part of this great experience has been thanks to Claudio and his explanations, anecdotes and tips about the city. Thank you!!
A short trip to Nuremberg but what thanks to Claudio allowed me to know interesting details of the city. Recommended
A good tour, highly recommended. Claudio's been a great guide. Ready, entertaining, very empathetic. We enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed walk with good explanations. A general and clear view of a city we did not know, in a good atmosphere. It will be a good memory, Thank you Claudio.
Our guide was Victorio and the tour was complete and enjoyable. He took us to the main points of interest and explained many things historic and the culture of the place. The bad thing, some people who took pictures and left behind as if they were alone delayed the group, but the poor education of some people (not young, very old) is not to blame the guide. I actually think the delay made us skip the last stop (I know because I was there already when I arrived and the guide said the tour would end there). I recommend the tour and send a greeting to Victorio.
We did the tour with Claudio and it was very interesting and fun. Thank you very much for such a pleasant few hours. Even when we got caught in the rain. From Vinaròs we wish you well.
Very good guided tour with mastery and good do for Claudio who left his native Chile to teach cities like this. We have enjoyed it very much and recommend it
Claudio taught us and explained Nuremberg great. It was very pleasant and interesting. We learned a lot about the history of the city and learned about sites and anecdotes that few know about.
A great freetour accompanied by Claudio, where we could learn and discover Nuremberg in a wonderful way. The guide strives to resolve all doubts and is seen to like the story very much and that is reflected in his work.
A fantastic experience, Claudio, our guide taught us the ancient city telling us many curiosities and historical data in a very enjoyable way. Quite a hit.
