Hotel Forsthaus Nurnberg-furth

I stayed in this hotel with my husband and 2y old daughter and the experience was great! We enjoyed every moment of it. And a special thank you to Michele, from the front desk. He is great! Thank you for making our experience so nice and thank you for being so considerate. Truly appreciated!

This evening when we arrived we had one of the most friendly welcomes we have ever had in a hotel ! Fabulous foyer. Lovely rooms Gorgeous spa pool Then wonderful drink in the terrace bar out front. The local red wine is superb, on the menu. What a setting in the forest Loads of car parking Total relaxation. A real destination hotel.

Peaceful Location, but Service Needs Improvement The hotel is located next to a beautiful forest with several walking and hiking tracks. The surroundings are quiet, peaceful, and calm, which I really appreciated. The hotel also has a pool, sauna, and gym, which are nice facilities. They also offer massage services. Breakfast was good, and I especially appreciated the buffet staff, who were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Their effort and positive attitude really stood out. The rooms, however, were very basic and not quite what I expected based on the pictures. The beds were comfortable, although the sofa bed was not particularly comfortable. Unfortunately, the service experience was not as positive as I had hoped. When we arrived, nobody helped us with our luggage, and we were not even shown where we could find a luggage trolley to bring our bags to the rooms. We had quite a lot of luggage, so it was difficult to manage everything ourselves. We had to figure it out on our own. I also had a strange experience when I requested an iron. At first, I was told that it would be brought to my room. Later, I was told that I would have to collect it myself and carry it upstairs. When I returned from the restaurant, I found the ironing board and iron left in a corner rather carelessly, rather than being placed somewhere convenient or properly set up. It gave the impression that helping was considered too much effort. Later that evening, we wanted to have dessert at the restaurant. We sat at one of the outdoor tables but were told to move to the sofas near the entrance because the restaurant was closing. When I explained that we only wanted to order dessert, we were suddenly allowed to remain at the tables, and it appeared that the restaurant was not actually closing. This was confusing and could have been handled much more professionally. Another thing that I found uncomfortable was when we went to pay the bill. The lady asked how much money we expected to receive back. Normally, once the bill is paid, the remaining amount should simply be returned as change. Asking how much the guest expects to receive can come across as an indirect request for a tip. Of course, tips are sometimes given to recognise good service, but I found this approach rather unusual and uncomfortable. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it: a beautiful and peaceful location, good facilities, comfortable beds, and a good breakfast with very friendly buffet staff. However, the overall service experience was disappointing and honestly not what I expected from this hotel. Small things such as helping with luggage, handling requests professionally, and making guests feel welcome can make a big difference. Unfortunately, the service during our stay did not give us that feeling.

Really nice Hotel, absolutely splendid service, wonderful interior. Even Dogs are allowed and it’s also great for Families with many small kids. Everyone got along nicely and everyone - Dogs, Kids, Grandparents and all were respectful and nice to each other. Also - great food!
