The blonde receptionist at the front desk assumed we didn’t understand English. We had three rooms booked, and I was simply holding the hand of a toddler under two years old while standing at the reception desk. She immediately started talking about extra guest charges and even suggested that a child under two years old should be charged. Are you seriously that desperate for money? The child wasn’t even staying in my room. The fact that your first reaction was to look for ways to charge more is absolutely ridiculous. The hotel itself feels like a haunted house. Everything is old, outdated, and poorly maintained. The facilities are worn out, and the entire place desperately needs renovation. Between the terrible attitude at the front desk and the condition of the hotel, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend staying here.

The location of the Bamberger Hof Bellevue hotel is ideal. Both the train station and all parts of the city center are within walking distance. The room and breakfast exceeded our expectations. To be fair, our expectations were modest based on the photos of the rooms. Nevertheless, the rooms look more attractive and cleaner in person. The amenities offered are fully commensurate with the price. Also worth mentioning are the delicious welcome glass of wine and the stylish interior of the lobby.
Ancient building although renovated. And this renovation is rather wierd. In the corner of the room the toilet is just a square with transparent walls just adjusting to the bed. So when you poo, your partner is almost participating. Very uncomfortable feeling. Maybe in Germany such things are OK, but for me that was shocking.
I had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Bamberger-Hof and can’t recommend it enough! The hotel is spotlessly clean, and while it has an older charm, the updates give it a fresh, welcoming feel. Each room is uniquely designed, adding a special touch to the experience. The breakfast (Frühstück) is absolutely amazing—complete with a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste. They bring out the hot coffee and order the Ruhreis (scrambled eggs). The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond. The gentleman at the front-desk patiently waits for me practice my German. The hotel is centrally located and is an easy walk to the Altstadt or to the Maxplatz. My only note is to be cautious if you’re parking a large car, as the space can be a bit tight. Overall, a delightful stay that deserves 5 stars!
A really lovely, quaint hotel. I had a large room which was good as I had my dog with me. The room had a modern bathroom pod in it. I had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant next door and there was a small park to walk the dog. Bamberg has lots of independant shops and restaurants and has a rich history with lots to see. I was only there one night so would definitely visit again.
