Excellent tour! Bruce was very knowledgeable. He took us on a great tour and several beautiful picture spots. I highly recommend this tour!!!

Bruce is a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about Halifax and Peggy’s Cove. After going through Halifax, he brought us through several neighborhoods to see different housing, flowers, trees and rocks. All along the way, he pulled over and put the windows down so we could get the best pictures of everything and even gave us hints on how to take the pictures. He made sure we saw all of the highlights on the tour and got us back to our cruise ship on time.
Our driver, Bruce, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful enough to provide raincoats when it rained. The stop at the Titanic cemetery was also deeply moving and arresting. The drive to Peggy’s Cove through the city and along the back roads was beautiful. You need to allow more than two hours at Peggy’s Cove if you plan to eat at the restaurant. Restaurant staff were super nice, and the food was good—you can get the lobster roll without mayo. It is a wonderful destination, it just needs a bit more time on the itinerary. However, the tour spent a significant amount of time driving through various residential areas to look at public housing, low-income, middle-class, and upper-class neighborhoods. This portion felt completely unnecessary, and we would have much preferred skipping it to spend more time at Peggy's Cove.
We did a tour with Bruce while visiting Halifax on a cruise, and it was such a great experience! When we came off the ship, he was waiting for us with an umbrella because it was pouring rain and extremely windy. Bruce picked us up in a comfortable van and took us to many different places throughout Halifax, explaining the history and significance of each stop along the way. Because of the weather, there were times when getting out wasn’t ideal, so he would roll down the window and make sure we could still get a great photo. He knew all the best photo spots and even gave us tips on how to capture the perfect picture! We ended our tour at Peggy’s Cove, where we had about an hour to explore. It was the perfect amount of time to see the lighthouse, walk around, visit a few shops, and grab something to eat. Bruce made sure we were back at the cruise port with plenty of time before we needed to board the ship, which gave us peace of mind. If you love sightseeing and taking photos, this is definitely the tour for you. Bruce was knowledgeable, accommodating, and made the most of a very rainy and windy day. Highly recommend!

amazing tour. Bruce is very knowledgeable and accommodating. A lot of good pictures taken. Comfortable private ride.
Best excursion of our cruise. Bruce was a great guide. Pointed out the beauty of the fall in Nova Scotia. Great for photographers and sight seers. Lots of opportunity for pictures. Highly recommend
Informative, organized, punctual, good communication. Responsive to our requests, variety of great experiences and stories.
Bruce was very knowledgeable about the history of Halifax and most interestingly about the Titanic passengers in the cemetary. We toured Halifax and then cruised through all the areas on the way to Peggy’s Cove. My husband uses a wheelchair and Bruce was very helpful getting him in and out, and the vehicle had the space to store it folded up in the back. Thank you, Bruce, for a wonderful day.
Bruce was very nice and informative and we enjoyed the tour. He stopped for lots of pictures and he was knowledgeable about the area. I would use him again.
Bruce…our tour guide, was excellent. He seemed to have photography experience and even had flash cards to photograph with the names of the areas we were visiting. Found the Titanic graveyard and stories to be most interesting.
We spent a pleasant day touring Halifax, Peggy's Cove and small towns in between. Bruce does tell you to take photos of certain sites. A nice touch was taking a photo of card with the name of the location before touring the place. Also at the end we were given a list of all the photo stops which will also help identify the photos. We had over an hour to explore Peggy's Cove which was plenty of time. We ate lunch at a small takeout place in Peggy's Cove (at our own expense).
Bruce was a very thorough guide and knew the best spots for photos. Two of the highlights were the cemetary where Titantic victims were buried, and of course, Peggy's Cove. The weather was perfect
Bruce was knowledgeable and well prepared. He gave plenty of time for photos and notes to remind us of the places we visited.
Prompt pickup which was appreciated. So nice to have tour for aourselves rather than multiple pick-ups. Bruce stuck to his "script" so did not engage in any discussion about anything else. Informative about the sites and places we visited or drove past. Good idea of his to have prepared cards which we took a photo of before we started taking photos of that particular area. Less opportunity for photos from back seat so put your best photographer in the front. I still took 137 photos. My friend took well over 300 from the front seat.
Did not have much to say except where and how to take pictures. Very dissatisfied. Would not suggest.
Bruce was very organized and thoughtful. He went above and beyond to show us all the pretty views. Peggy's cove is very picturesque.
The tour was very well organized. Bruce took my mum and I to the locations in the description. We went all over downtown, the titanic cemetery and Peggy's cove. Lots of great pictures. However, there was alot of quiet time while traveling and spent time going through different levels of (income) homes. Overall, it was a nice tour.
Booked a private tour, hoping to work with the driver on what we wanted to see. Bruce had a definite and very specific agenda, including what neighborhoods to go through, what pictures of adirondack chairs to take, how to take them, "zoom in, don't get the shadow" etc. There was no discussion of what we might be interested in and how we wanted to spend our time, which for us was the whole point of a private tour. That being said, he was very knowledgeable about the things he wanted to tell us. Knew a lot about the Titanic cemetery, which was interesting. Dropped us off for 2 hours (again without any discussion of what we might want) in Peggy's Cove. If you want something that's predetermined and you just ride along and listen, this is for you. We could have done that on a cheaper bus tour however. We would have loved a 30 minutes stop at a trail head for example, instead of all of the neighborhoods, different socio=economic examples. Some people might love that, but not us.
Bruce was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information about Titanic cemetery, Halifax downtown, Peggy's Cove and surrounding area. There were 6 of us and had a comfortable ride. Bruce had bottles of water and a maple candy as a welcome gift. Loves photography and made sure you got the perfect shot. At end of tour he had written down exactly where we had taken the photo. Only wish that we had time to see more of the botanical gardens in Halifax.
One star for getting us to Peggy’s Cove and one star for getting us back to the ship on time. This was an uncomfortable tour. We were told where to sit in the van, one in the front, and what to take pictures of and how to take them. When I told Bruce I would be moving to the back seat (so I could have a conversation with my friend and hopefully take my own photos), the photo opportunities seemed to stop. The photo ops in Halifax were not great anyway, including a stop for one of an alley and an another of a Pepto Bismol colored house. The tour script seemed to be fixed. We would have enjoyed less time in Halifax and more in Peggy’s Cove. But while in Halifax we would have loved hearing more about the Citadel and history, with less time driving up and down streets and stopping for photos we didn’t want to take.
Very enjoyable tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about Halifax, Titanic, The Great Halifax Explosion. The ride out to Peggy's Cove was full of picturesque photo stops at many other little coves.
Bruce was an excellent guide. Great and very interesting, information was timely and increased our knowledge of the area and its history. I highly recommend him and his service. He also knows where to stop and how to frame iconic spots in both the town and the seaside. Thanks again Bruce, if we come back we hope to see you again!
Bruce picked us up on time and his van was very clean. You can tell Bruce has done this tour many times before, as he had each moment, and place scripted with lots of information and details. Our only suggestions would be to offer choices (like would you prefer stopping here or there?). We felt very rushed at Peggy’s Cove, whereas too much time was spent traveling around up and down all the many streets of Halifax. This part could have been condensed and limited as it tiok up too much time. The Titannic Cemetary was very interesting and Bruce was knowledgeable about the historical facts about the passengers buried there. Overall, it was a good way to tour around and learn about Halifax amd Peggy’s Cove.
Bruce was great. He has excellent knowledge of the region. Visiting the gravesites of the Titanic victims was most interesting.
This was a good tour, saw many new and interesting sights. Guide was a little pushy about when and where to take photos.
Bruce was a great guide and was well prepared with flashcards for us to photograph and stopping all along the way to get. Pictures. The tour was well worth the money as we got a great view of Halifax as well as time to spend at Peggy’s cove
We were very lucky to meet an experienced tour guide, Bruce , who gave us a very good itinerary experience. His rich knowledge allowed us to understand this place better.
We enjoyed the private tour with Bruce Tours. He was very informative and made sure we didn't miss any photo moments. Highly recommended
Bruce’s tour was fantastic. His vehicle is spacious and comfortable. Bruce is very knowledgeable and punctual. The tour was planned out perfectly and we saw so many beautiful spots that the cruise ship excursions would not have taken us to. The pricing is extremely reasonable for a private tour. Would 100% recommend.
Had the opportunity to see sights and stop for photos that a larger tour would not have allowed. Our group of three enjoyed the day touring with Bruce and learning about the area. Would highly recommend going this route if you have a full day to give to it. We fell in love with beautiful Lunenberg and a later hours visit to Peggy’s Cove allowed for photos with no other tourists in the background!
Bruce -- a very well informed ad knowledgeable guide. He got water bottles with him for us and also the famous maple candy. We enjoyed the city tour and Peggy's cove and Bruce gave us all the historical info about the places we stopped by and passed by. I will recommend Bruce every time.
We did this as a shore excursion from our cruise ship. Bruce was absolutely terrific. He has a truly extraordinary knowledge of facts, dates and places, and shares sights and history in an interesting way. He is an excellent, safe driver. He provided a really memorable experience. There were four in our party and we fit comfortably in his mini-van and everyone had good views. He stops and gives good photo suggestions. I highly recommend Bruce for this tour.
The highlight was that we got safely back to our cruise ship. We thought that with 6 hours, we would be able to help decide our itinerary. No way! We drove up and down neighborhood streets in Halifax, giving us some interesting information, but Bruce also pointed out every "burning bush" plant between Halifax and Peggy's Cove. We asked questions about real estate and business in Halifax, questions that have been asked on every tour I've ever been on, and be said, "I'm not the one to ask about those things." He had a specific dialogue that he couldn't change. If you're a photographer, and have a strong stomach, this might be for you...he drove on almost every side street, showing photo ops, we got some great photos, but also, some of us had serious car sickness! The hours trip from Halifax to Peggy's Cove took three hours! I won't be using his services again!
We were so looking forward to our day in Halifax with Bruce, but due to Hurricane Fiona, we were unable to come in to Halifax to do the tour. Bruce did not offer ANY portion of the fully paid excursion to be refunded since it was not within their fully refundable time frame. So disappointing.
This tour was extremely informative, we were shown many different aspects of the city, very interesting, beautiful drive along the Coast. Fascinating history in Halifax that was unbeknown to us as Canadians ! Waterfront, Boardwalk, Peggy’s Cove, Titanic cemetery, gorgeous scenery. Relaxing and enjoyable, highly recommend this tour.
Bruce was a great tour guide. He was on time and was exactly where he said he would meet us when our ship docked. He showed us a map and explained where we would be going on our tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove. He drove us all around Halifax and showed us many of the historical landmarks and let us take lots of photos. Peggy's Cove was a Beautiful Village with shops, food and lot of great photo opportunities. This was a Great Tour.
We elected not to take the ship tour. Instead we scheduled a private tour with Bruce Tours four just the 4 of us in our own vehicle. Bruce is a very interesting and different person. He is extremely knowledgeable. The bus drives straight through the city and onto Peggy's Cove. Bruce took us the scenic route and toured us through subdivisions and some great picture opportunities that you would never see on the bus tour. At first you may find Bruce a little unique with his dry sense of humor but it you are patient you will bet the best tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove and get some wonderful pictures and have some laughs. Highly reccommended.
Thank You Bruce for an awesome experience, and adding Oak Island for us. We had such a great day and saw so much. This is the perfect tour if you only have one day to spend in Halifax. I have an awesome album of pics to remember this trip by, thanks to you. Very well done.
Great excursion, the best we have been on this trip. Bruce sgiwed us a lot more than we expected and was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him............
Bruce is a excellent guide. Knowledge of history was interesting and stop at awesome photo opportunities. We needed to return early but was still 5 hours so full must be at least 5 1/2. His van was nice and well maintained. Can’t name a favorite location they were all beautiful.
We loved our time with Bruce, who picked us up from the cruise ship dock and took us around to see the areas we wanted to see. He knows Nova Scotia like the back of his hand and gave us a great trip to Peggy's Cove, a highlight of our visit. It was perfect for our group of 5, and we enjoyed getting a local's input on his home turf. (I'm tardy for posting--although the date says June 2019, it was June 2018.)
Bruce Tours can't be beat! Bruce was our driver/guide and took us everywhere. I might add that he took us all over Halifax pointing out the things that were of great interest to me--like the Halifax Explosion, the marker for plane crash in Peggy's Coves and to the Titanic graves. He took us many places off the beaten path to take pictures and helped me position my camera perfectly. Even offered a charger when my phone battery started dying. Loved, loved this private tour. There is no comparison to a crowded bus tour and our private tour! Thank you again Bruce for a lovely day.
Bruce himself has been doing this small van tour since 2004. Max travelers of 6. Intimate, personalized, interactive, not canned, not just all around Halifax plus side roads to many small coves with amazing photo ops, and a lunch stop at the restaurant right near the Lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove. This is the best way to see it all in one day! Don’t miss it but be sure to book ahead!!
We got way more than expected with this tour. Bruce picked us up at our hotel exactly on time, and took us all over Halifax to various historical landmarks, but also some local interesting views and buildings. He made frequent stops so we could take pictures, and coached us on the best angles to get great photos. We then visited lots of little coastal villages before ending up in Peggy's Cove. He kept a list of all the places we visited and photographed, so that at the end of the tour we would be able to remember all of the pictures we took (and there were lots!). What an amazing day!
The highlight of our day in Halifax was seeing the Maude Lewis exhibit in Halifax but enjoyed the drive to a Peggy’s Cove. Enjoyed the citadel with the views of the city
We booked Bruce's Tours for our group of 5 people in April 2019. We arrived by cruise ship and although there was a last minute change of where we were supposed to dock due to construction, Bruce gave us easy instructions to take the shuttle provided and he would meet us at the drop off point, which he did, right on time as planned. His van seats 6 tourists, however it is better suited for 5 people as to give more room in the back seat row. Bruce was a great tour host and provided insights and history of the Halifax area. He was insistent that we got the best photo shots possible. We toured the beautiful Peggy's Cove area and we were blessed with good weather, but quite windy. We toured the Halifax area in the afternoon so as to get back to the ship on time, no problem there. On our previous visit to Halifax in 2015 we took the HOHO bus as we were also on a cruise. I must say Bruce's Tours was much better than the HOHO as we were able to see much more, including residential neighborhoods, the Titanic cemetery ( up close with better history presentation) etc. Also, the cost of Bruce's tour was very competitive in our opinion. We would use his company again when visiting the Halifax area.
Visiting Halifax with Bruce was a success. He planned a great tour of the must-see sites of Halifax and Peggy’Cove. We were able to take amazing pictures and enjoy all the beautiful views along the way.
Informative, kurzweilige Tour.
