We went on the tour chiefly to be able to see the beauty of the countryside in the Annapolis valley. I felt Paul was experienced and imparted a lot of information. The tour was wellorganized. I liked that we stopped at a small winery in addition to a couple of larger concerns. Everyone who was into tasting and buying wines seemed to like the products that were available. I'm glad I had a chance to see the area. Thanks

Grand-Pré is a powerful monument that unites the Acadian people. Visitors to the site will uncover the tale of Le Grand Dérangement: a tragic event in Acadian history that has shaped the vibrant culture of modern-day Acadians across the globe through its quiet but powerful renaissance. The site commemorates the Grand Pré area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the Deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. For many Acadians throughout the world, the site remains the heart of their ancestral homeland and the symbol of the ties that unite them to this day..**There is a fee to visit Museum but no fee to see Church and he legendary statue of Evangeline (heroine of the Longfellow poem) and the Memorial Church**
From the View Park, on Old Post Road, you gaze over the 1,300-hectares of farm-fields, marshes and dykelands that comprise the Landscape of Grand-Pré. Discover the deep human story within this land. A vast panorama gives life to the efforts of industrious Acadians, who, in the 1680s, overcame geographic challenges and the world’s highest tides to foster thriving settlements. Their ingenious system of dykes remained a technological zenith for hundreds of years—expanded and maintained by English, Scottish and Dutch settlers until the mid-20th century—and combined with a tumultuous regional history, led to the area’s designation as Canada’s 16th UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also rich in Mi’kmaw tradition, dramatic Cape Blomidon—which frames the dykelands—is said to harbour the spirit of the mythical watchman Kluscap, another facet of this culturally and naturally diverse landscape.
Blomidon Look-Off is on top of the North Mountain in the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley region. It is a small roadside stop with a beautiful panoramic view of the Annapolis Valley and the Minas Basin. On a clear day, you can see five counties and maybe a few Bald Eagles from the look-off.
Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound is a working lobster pound in the quaint seaside village of Hall's Harbour in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region...Great spot to enjoy some Fresh Nova Scotia Seafood.. Hall's Harbour is an authentic fishing village dating back to 1779, when Captain Hall and his privateers used this natural harbour as a base. Take a walk along the harbourfront boardwalk and explore the Lobster Pound’s buildings which date back to the 1820s; interpretive panels provide you with a history of the buildings and area. Enjoy the excellent views of the world famous Bay of Fundy tides along the way! There is waterfront restaurant for a delectable seaside meal of lobster! Additional meal options are available...**Meal Not Included** .
Pretty good chance to see a Bald Eagle on this Tour as Sheffield Mills is a Bald Eagle Nesting Area.
Fox Hill Cheese House is a cheese-processing facility located in Port Williams in the Annapolis Valley crafting over 20 varieties of specialty cheeses, natural yogurt and gelato, and non-homogenized whole milk in bottles from our own herd of Holstein and Jersey cows.
Planters Ridge is housed in a renovated 156-year-old timber frame barn that combines historical features with modern flourishes. Our artisanal winery has invested in state-of-the-art equipment, producing highly acclaimed wines, worthy of the Planters Ridge label. With a focus on blends, we have developed a reputation for crafting aromatic whites and well-balanced, silky-smooth reds. In addition to our wines, we are producing innovative specialty products including meads, crafted with locally sourced honey as well as a premium cider blended with dark, local rum...**Wine sampling if you wish is not included**
Welcome to 1365 Church Street Vineyard & Winery, in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. Known for our flower gardens and many bicycles surrounding the property, this 14.8-acre vineyard is just waiting for you. Nestled in vines, it boasts breathtaking views of the Wellington Dyke, North Mountain and Cape Blomidon, making it an ideal stop on your tour through Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley wine region. Come for the views and stay for the delicious wine tastings and cozy atmosphere...**Wine sampling if you wish is not included**

A highly personalised service from owner/operator who takes great pride in the vehicle and the experience.
Paul was awesome and very accommodating, I am Cajun and he allowed additional time in Grand Pre and his pride in his country was wonderful
This was a fun trip. We got out of Halifax and into some beautiful countryside. We enjoyed seeing the orchards and farms in the area, and had a very entertaining stop at one of the 3 included vineyards. Very knowledgable guide.
This is a very well organized tour. Paul McNeil is the owner as well as the driver and the guide. When you book the tour you are spending the time with him. He's very knowledgeable and very organized. His van is state of the art with video capabilities. He's extremely professional. This is a great tour to get outside of the city and see the beautiful Annapolis valley. Although you do go to the vineyards we don't drink wine but we went because we got to see things we could not see otherwise such as Grand Pre and hear the history of the Acadians as well as seeing the tide come in and out of the Bay of Fundy. You'll also have a great lunch in a scenic location. Van clean and spotless, comfortable and not crowded. Paul is your man!
Great experience! The tour was very informative, and we got to see many memorable places, including the Annapolis Valley. Photographing bald eagles was a major highlight of the trip. It was definitely a trip to remember.
This was an interesting trip with a very knowledgeable guide. The scenery was beautiful. Took off one star because it seemed rushed toward the end.
Wonderful tour of the Annapolis valley. Beautiful agricultural lands. Grand Pre was very moving to see and hear what happened to the Acadians. Wine tasting at the vineyards was fun and enjoyed the scenic views.
Paul is a true gentleman, along w/ being knowledgeable & warm about his Canadian & Nova Scotian history & culture. The lovely, rolling countryside was complemented by Paul's narration in creating a beautiful experience & memory of Annapolis Valley.
We had a wonderful day during this trip! Annapolis valley is very pretty! In addition to wine tasting we learned a lot about the Acadians and we visited the museum and historic site dedicated to them. We traveled in a very comfortable vehicle. The guide was excellent!! He was very knowledgeable and extremely organized! He kept us busy with relevant and interesting documentaries on the way and he made sure that we all had a great time. We highly recommend this excursion!!
Paul is a considerate, kind and professional guide. You can just tell how passionate he is about his work and how much this man knows and loves his city. I had a really wonderful time in this trip because of him and the other kind new friends made this time! All the places we went during this trip were gorgeous and stunning also thanks to this good weather! I gotta know more of this city and now I start to fall in love of here, everything is out of my expectations and all the people I met are so nice and sweet:)) If you are going to Halifax and wonder what you can do there, don’t hesitate just give Paul a call!
Our tour with Paul of the Annapolis Valley was absolutely fantastic. We stopped at a few wineries and had the opportunity to learn about the regions history at Grand Pre. We seen a few eagles, had some lobster and enjoyed the breathtaking views. Paul was a top notch tour guide and highly recommend this tour. This was definitely one of the highlights of our two weeks in the Maritimes😀
Paul is a fantastic tour guide! Our day was gray & got progressively wetter, but we enjoyed seeing the various sites & hearing about the local area. Paul was able to adapt to the weather & make the most of the day for our group. The Annapolis valley tour was something a bit different, as it was history, nature & wine. A perfect tour if you want to make the most of limited time in & around Halifax.
It was a great tour,,, so much information about the area,, would recommend this to everyone,, beautiful
Fantastic views interspersed with a combination of history and wine-tasting. Great information about Acadian history.
Had a great time on this tour. Went deeper into the Arcadian history. Enjoyed incredible scenery of Nova Scotia's agricultural life. Tasted delicious wine, cheeses and ice-cream. Always having special photo sites/spots, thanks to Paul. This was my 3rd tour with amazing/knowledgeable and warm tour guide Paul, from Half day Tours. Did the Half day Historic one (learned what has shaped the contemporary Nova Scotia's people). Did the Half day Peggy's Cove/Lunenburg, learned more about Nova Scotia's culture. Highly recommend the 3 tours and Paul's unique, professional, passionate and warm guide. Another thing to point out is that groups are small and bus is very comfortable.
It was perfect! I loved the onboard films. They were informative and made the travel time fly by. Paul was extremely knowledgeable about the areas and the sites we visited. His introductory question when we got on the bus asking us where we were from helped our group bond Paul was thoughtful and considerate. I definitely would recommend any of Paul’s tours.
Very beautiful stops, breathtaking views, informative guide. Learning about Acadian history was interesting. We really enjoyed the visit to the winery as well. Overall it was an excellent tour.
Great excursion with excellent food(lobster, scallop, ice-cream, wine) and narrations. Serene sceneries. A must-see in Nova Scotia!
We had back 2 back cruises so had 2 stops in Halifax. We toured with Paul to the Annapolis Valley and also on the historic Halifax tour. We truly enjoyed our tours. Paul is very responsive to email or text or call and met us right across from the ship at Pier 22. We learned so much about Halifax and the surrounding area and its history as well as Titanic history as a bonus. The van was comfortable and the lunch stops were local restaurants and so good. The 2 winery stops in Annaoplis were so different ( one large and more formal and the other a family owned and run establishment with individual selections based on personal wine preferences) but we liked them both. You cant go wrong booking with Paul.
Paul really knew the best places in the area to visit. He was happy to give me some extra time at Grand-Pré when I mentioned I’m Acadian. He took us to Halls Harbor at just the right time to walk on the sea bed while the tide was out. He also had some fun short videos about local history for us to watch while on the way. The first winery he took us to was so much fun and felt like a personal wine tour. Lucketts was also fun to visit. I liked the way Paul’s tour focused on seeing the beautiful landscape and on smaller venues that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise, as well as the main stops.
Paul was a great tour guide. very informative. Also on the long drive to the valley he had videos pertaining to where we were going, so we got a history from him and then watched an in depth version. Very accomodating and great day. Highly reccomend.
Paul, our guide delivered an amazing tour of the Annapolis Valley! He supplied us with lots of information about Halifax and each area we visited! We stopped to see the views of the Bay of Fundy and then got a closer look when we visited Halls Harbour! Lunch at Halls Harbour Lobster Pound was delicious! The gelato and wine tasting stops were great! The Church Street Winery created a personal tasting for all members of the tour! You can tell Paul enjoys his job and sharing his knowledge!
Our guide Paul was an expert on history, geography and had the ability to share facts and information in an interesting way. We were not rushed during the day, there were lots of photos opportunities. I learnt about Arcadian history, had a delicious lunch and a relaxing wine experience. The day was excellent , with videos while we were driving . I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in seeing Nova Scotian countryside, include the Bay of Fundy and its tides.
My husband and I had scheduled two tours with Paul-this was the second. Paul really knows the best places to give guests a taste of the Annapolis Valley. The van he uses is also very comfortable. For the wineries, the highlight of the wineries was the 1365 Church Street Vineyard & Winery. We also had lots of great photo opportunities-including two nesting bald eagles. This tour is a 'Must Do' when in Halifax.
The scenery was just incredible on this trip, and Paul is so knowledgeable about his beloved Nova Scotia! The wineries were tremendous fun, as we had such a good group of people to share this with!
Paul was absolutely fabulous! His knowledge and enthusiasm for Nova Scotia and its history created a a marvelous tour of Annapolis Valley. Highly recommend!!!!
Annapolis Valley was the 1st of 3 tours a colleague and I did with Paul. Paul is highly professional, knowledgeable, and later would find out incredibly caring and kind. Started with the Bay of Fundy and then saw bald eagles, got delicious gelato at a place that was not yet opened but the owner opened when she saw Paul arriving, and then delicious wineries and cheese. At lunch, I noticed my phone was missing and Paul traced steps back, called repeatedly, and even took me to a couple of phone companies when it was obvious my phone was gone. Did not get to do the final part of the tour but Paul went almost 2 hours over trying to help me find and replace the phone. Never saw someone go so out of his way to help. Luckily I had booked his other 2 tours in coming days (see other reviews).
This trip was wonderful! Paul (our driver and guide) was especially knowledgeable and pleasant. We saw amazing countryside and visited several historical sites, plus the vineyard stops were so beautiful. I would highly recommend this trip.
Super tour packing a lot in - history, nature, food and wine! Great communication and transit. Paul provides expert knowledge and knows how to flex the tour based on the weather, or to beat the queues, or to stop the minibus / van to let you look at bald eagles. Thanks Paul!
Paul is by far the most knowledgeable, experienced and professional tour guide to go with. I recommend any of the tours offered by Halifax Titanic Historical Tours and recommend his services for airport pick up and drop off. Be warned about See Sight Tours, they are a company run out of Ontario, their vans use Ontario plates and the guides are not as experienced.
After some intense days of walking 10-mile days in Montréal (got some fun blisters on my feet as proof), it was so lovely to be driven around. Paul was a wonderful guide who curated some thoughtful stops for us, including some photo ops, a lobster lunch stop, a gelato stop, and 3 wineries. I was apprehensive about being in a car for 6 hours but it didn't feel like that much time was spent in the car, as we had very relaxing stops where we got to stretch our feet and enjoy some tastings. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Nova Scotia.
The way to see from Halifax to the Annapolis Valley, take a tour in a fancy van that seats eight comfortably. Paul, our guide was very professional and knowledgeable about the area. He knew the restaurants and sites to take us to and how to avoid the crowds. I would highly recommend this tour.
Very knowledgeable with ample time to enjoy the sites. Great Vistas and good time spent at each stop.
Enjoyed the whole trip. The historical aspects, the scenery, fundy bay and the 3 excellent vineyard visit and wine tastings My favourite vineyard was the first one. The only slight disappointment was the place we had lunch. Fabulous building but our food took a really long time to arrive and so it was a bit of a rush to actually eat it - as the rest of the group were done. The small group was great fun and helped make it a great day. I would use this service again. Paul was very knowledgeable and very informative.
What an absolutely great day we had with Paul from Halifax titanic Tours. Paul picked us up from our cruise ship and returned us back to the port (on time of course). We visited three wineries and stopping g to see the tide washed out and boats sitting on the dirt (there had been water there on our way out). Had the chance to see multiple bald eagles. Great day, great tour. Highly recommend
Paul was friendly and knowledgeable guide, and the van was comfortable to spend the day touring around. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into selecting the various stops and photo ops to give the best experience in this beautiful area in a short day trip. A great mix of scenery, history, and wineries.
This tour was amazing! Well timed and engaging throughout. Hotel pickup was included. I would definatly book another tour next time I'm in Halifax. It was beautiful, informative and fun and the small group style is great for getting to know your fellow travelers. The whole area is gorgeous and Halls Harbor is an absolute gem! Thank you again to Paul and his truly memorable tour!
It was a great day to spend a tranquil day in the countryside. Very educational trip between rides got to hear a little on the history of Halifax
Amazing tour, covers many villages in the area, beautiful points of view where we stopped to take a pictures. Great spot we stopped for a lunch that was recommended! We also visited some great wineries in the valley. Paul is a great guide, very kind and tells interesting stories. Tour is well organized, on time, excellent communication. We enjoyed the tour!
Paul was fantastic. The tour was part history, part wine tasting. The van is equipped with video; Paul narrated some things and showed us a video on Halifax’s role in the Titanic disaster. We saw the countryside, including a look at the Bay of Fundy, had lunch and went to three different wineries for tasting. If you’re going to Halifax, do yourself a favor and contact Paul!
This trip was the second one we took with Paul. It was really enjoyable and a great balance between sightseeing, nature spotting and visiting the wineries. We also had a great lunch spot. As with the South Shore Tour, Paul was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. A very enjoyable day. Thanks again Paul! This is a great way to see the areas surrounding Halifax without hiring and car and much more enjoyable and stress free.
My husband and I booked 2 tours with Paul and we enjoyed both of them very much. The first tour was the Half day South Shore tour. We saw much of the area around Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester. Every stop offered picture perfect scenery! Our second tour with Paul was of the Annapolis Valley. We visited the Grand Pre historic site and also 3 wineries. Again, the scenery was spectacular. Paul is very knowledgeable and shares historic facts while taking you from place to place. It's a win-win because you learn while having fun. His vehicle is very comfortable & clean too. Thank you Paul for two great day trips. Travelling with you allowed us to see much more of beautiful Nova Scotia.
We had a terrific tour with Paul to the Annapolis Valley. He's very professional, knowledgeable and lots of fun. His tour bus is spotless and completely set up for CoVid guidelines. We learned a lot, lunched on lobster, sampled local wine and cheese and know that when we return we'll be booking another one of his tours!
3 ladies and a tour guide! Paul was excellent and could not have been more accommodating and flexible. We saw and did way more than we planned and he let us lead the itinerary. He had extras in the van for us like water, wide selection of music, historical videos or movies for the ride home. Super new and comfortable vehicle. Easy in and out. Great recommendations! Thanks Paul
I took this tour with two friends! We lucked into a beautiful day, and had a fantastic time, viewing local historical sites, as well as visiting 3 vineyards and sampling the wines, and a local cheese factory! Paul is a very knowledgeable and very accommodating tour guide. He took our pictures, and allowed us as much time as we needed at various stops. His tour bus is comfortable and all set up to be covid compliant. I would highly recommend Paul & any of his tours, but this one was fantastic!!
Last year we took the Halifax tour with this company. We had already taken the cruise ship tour of the city the previous year. This tour is so much better that it is incomparable. The guide,Paul McNeill, has this tour timed with incredible precision to maximize your time. You are able to get out of the van and walk around and take photos , not just drive by points of interest. We were so impressed we took the tour of Annapolis with Paul this year. Lovely countryside vistas, beautiful vineyards and a perfect place for lunch. We were lucky enough to get a private tour in a lincoln town car for this. Makes you feel like royalty.
We booked the Halifax Titanic Tour with Paul McNeil in 2016 and decided to return and see more of Halifax and Nova Scotia. For our sequel, Paul recommended the Annapolis Valley tour which was outstanding. He is one of the best tour guides we have ever had and comes highly recommended.
Paul's explanation was thorough and easy to understand. The Grand Prix scenery, approaching autumn in a quiet place, was magnificent. At the winery, I could taste various types and bought the one I liked. The view of the harbor I stopped by for lunch was also wonderful.
This tour surpassed our expectations!
