This tour was ok. We did get to see beautiful scenery and take lovely photos. Harvey was our driver. He was very soft spoken and didn't give much information about the area. We were 4 adults. The car was pretty compact. I was in the center of the back seat. The seatbelt latches dug into both of my hips during the tour. We did get to stop at several viewpoints. Many of the stops on this tour were craft shops. We went into jewelry, glass, chocolate, and Irish shops. A restaurant was recommended to us for lunch. As we sat down, Harvey gave the gentleman of the group our Bell Museum tickets and his phone number. Harvey told us where the museum was and to call him when we were done. The museum was a few blocks away and up a steep hill. The climb proved difficult for our fellow tourer due to hip problems. All in all, we have had much better Viators and came away disappointed.

Very relaxing tour that we did at our own pace. The guide was very knowledgeable of the area. Got us back to our cruise ship in plenty of time.
The living museum is unbelievable and should not be missed. Don’t schedule this tour if the cruise ship is leaving that day. There is SO much to see and you don’t want to miss a minute. Our guide was very thoughtful and full of information.
We were on a bus tour, and this was part of the trip. So I am not sure what the cost to get in was. We had a guide and slide show to start with. Then left to walk around, there are some great exhibits. Some made us feel old, and brought back memories. From the typewriter to the early types of phones. We didn’t realize how many things Bell, was involved with. The museum is undergoing a major renovation outside, but this doesn’t effect our visit. We had a couple of hours there, which for us, was plenty of time. It was not overcrowded, we were there early afternoon.
Jack was an excellent guide for the day. He knew so much history and details about the area we were passing. Easy to understand and very solicitous. The van was comfortable for six people. The day was cold and windy with quite a bit of fog, so our troup opted not to take the northern extension as we wouldn't have been able to see anything. Instead Jack suggested a trip to Baddeck which was a pretty town with a number of restaurants for us to choose from. I would recommend this trip and Jack to anyone interested in Cabot Trail and Alexander Bell Museum. I had no idea Bell was such a prolific inventor with so much interest and success in early aviation and even a submarine.
We had a small group of just 4 of us which worked out nicely, and comfortable in a van. The guide was very outgoing, accommodating and knowledgeable in the history of the area.
The scenery was fantastic and we really enjoyed the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Our guide, Jack, provided a lot of info and did a great job. The tour did cut it closer to "all aboard" ship time than I am comfortable with, but we made it.
Great experience. Must go with Jack as the tour guide/driver. He was excellent and made the trip totally enjoyable...........
The Cape Breton area is a must see while visiting Nova Scotia. It is quite a long drive from the cruise port, but the driver breaks up the trip in both directions. We took a regular sized mini van. At first, the operator tried to squeeze 6 full sized adults into the van (with 3 in the back seat) As a group, we collectively refused with this seating arrangement and he was able to reconfigure groups and we ended up with 5 which was comfortable for all. The scenery is beautiful although we were a few weeks early for peak fall colors. I would highly recommend going as close to mid October as possible. Our driver was knowledgable and informative. We enjoyed the tour.
This experience could have gone much better if it had been organized properly. First of all we were supposed to begin at 10am however we left at 11am on a bus that had dirty windows thus preventing any good photos to be taken from the trip while on the road. At the pick up point no-one was there with any type of identification or signage to properly assist travelers. I had to ask anybody around before finding a guy with a pad scribbling on it, he seemed lost in space. The guide offered very little historical information and fell short of providing a good schedule our stops. We were only able to visit the Alexander G. Bell museum for 25 mins. Hardly enough to see anything. Instead we made unnecessary stops which set us back in time. Very unfortunate but preventable. We expect a refund.
The tour was okay in that we saw most of what was in the itinerary. Enjoyed the scenic stops on the Cabot Trail and our visit to the Bell Museum. However, we only had 1 hour in Baddock (at the Museum) when the itinerary indicated 2 hours. We did not get to spend any time in town. Additionally, we were dropped at the bottom of the hill for the Museum & were instructed to call the driver for pickup, at the bottom of the hill (the walk altogether took 15-20 minutes). The vehicle was small for 6 adults; it should be a max of 5. There were 3 adults (normal sized) in the back seat and it was not comfortable. The van itself was noisy; when the driver/guide spoke, it was difficult to hear him. We had to ask him to repeat himself and to speak louder. A mic would definitely be a benefit. Finally, the tour description indicated a bottle of water was included, but it was not.
A wonderful way to see so much of the place! Tour guide Arrie was the best. It felt like a private tour.Highly recommend this!
We had a lovely day and had a good time. Beautiful scenery, nice stops and Vishna was a great guide.
Great tour fitting a lot of sights in on one day. Booked this last minute after another tour cancelled on us. The tour operator was available to answer questions the night before. We were picked up right outside the cruise ship. The guide was very knowledgeable on the area and answered many questions. This is a small group tour in a van seating 6. During the drive to Baddeck we stopped at a few scenic locations on the Cabot Trail. We were able to get out, take in the scenery and snap a few photos. After arriving in Baddeck we had the option to go to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum or check out the town shops and restaurants. There was not time to do both so we opted for the museum. The museum is not large but had a lot of story boards and artifacts to look through. Next we went to the Gaelic College. Here we just walked through the shop. We were supposed to stop at a cafe before returning but they were closed so we went to a chocolate store. This was a nice stop to pick up a few sweets. The rest of the tour was driving the Cabot trail before getting on the ferry to head back to Sydney. It was a long drive and the leaves had not started changing colors yet but still very scenic.
It was a lovely day. Such a beautiful island. Our guide was so informative and flexible. We wanted a little time for lunch, he added some extra time for us to do that and recommended an excellent restaurant right in the water.
Our tour guide was nice and just okay. He gave interesting info while in van. When at the sights, he did not exit the van to give narrative of the places like some of the other tours.
We were picked up directly from the cruise ship and were with a Small group of 6 people on the road. Overall a great trip!
Great tour directly from the cruise port with nice guide and fantastic weather. Carbot Trail and bath deck with photo tops
