This Beach resort has everything for everyone! I could post photos for the beauty of the place but I'd rather give kudos to staff in this review. Top notch professional staff from the front desk, restaurant, recreation, grounds staff and spa! Speaking of spa, Dorothea Kittel was phenomenal! Well experienced with an easy way about her which made me feel very comfortable and confident she could help me with the service I required from her. Easy to chat with in a lovely atmosphere. This resort offered something for any age group.

Overall, our experience was okay. We were not expecting to be waited on hand and foot, but were expecting for the experience to feel more resort-like in terms of cleanliness and amenities. The beach is amazing, and the bunnies were a big draw for our youngest, but a return visit just for them feels pretty unlikely. The staff, whenever we encountered them, were excellent across the board. Our room was mostly clean, the food was mostly good, the amenities were okay-at-best. The grounds are pretty well kept, and the beach is gorgeous. The games room is fine but lacking decent equipment or has it locked away in offices. For a "resort", the general conditions of the pools/hot tub/rec space was disappointing. It was also a bit of a surprise that, as a beach-fronted resort, there were no chairs available to take down to the beach, or anywhere to find towels, so make sure you come prepared if you want to sit on the amazing beach on anything but pool towel that has to be sneaked out of the pool area. We enjoyed using the pickleball court, and being able to take a canoe out for a rip with the family, and they're generous with the ice cream scoops! While the buffet was convenient for dinner, I would probably recommend ordering from the menu instead. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of options, but lacked an obvious self-serve coffee option. After walking around the main lodge and some other parts of the resort, it felt oppressively over-signed with rules and instructions.
JUST WOW! This unique place reminds me of the Dirty Dancing lodge on crack. The location is absolutely stunning with both an ocean and lake. The beach is pure perfection with beautiful sand and opportunity to surf as well. The food has always been top-notch and even better with a view of the ocean from both inside and their outdoor patio. I especially love their server named Jenna. She was so attentive, knowledgeable and fun. We've been back several times because of her. Also, there is what seems to be a gazillion beautiful rabbits and the facility hands out bunny food to feed them. How cool is that?!!!
Only came for the day so can't comment on the rooms/accommodations. Came in from the Bridgewater area and the drive was about an hour. The beach is amazing and views are gorgeous. This beach reminded me of Hawaii. The main lodge was very nicely decorated, had a beautiful fireplace which made the whole place smell like campfire-- it was very cozy and nostalgic. We ate lunch in the Founders lounge and had the seafood chowder which was the best we ever had. Kids meals were really good too. Staff were all great and accommodating. The outdoor pool was the biggest negative for us. It was freezing cold, dirty and looked like it was crumbling. We went on a beautiful warm day and weren't able to get in and enjoy the views. The indoor pool area was nice but definitely needs some updating , the umbrella splash feature wasn't working and the change rooms felt a bit run down. The hot tub was really old. The kids park outside was nice. The surrounding cottages/boathouse did look run down as well (but maybe inside it's different?) I came here for the first time almost 30 years ago and alot of it looked exactly the same. With a few updates this place would be amazing.
Beautiful resort on Nova Scotia’s south shore. It has sprawling beachfront with many cabins, domes, and standard rooms to stay in. The main lodge is brand new and has stunning views of the water. The pool and hot tub are small, but suit the needs for small kids and families. I will say the resort is very family friendly and if you’re looking for something more intimate you should spring for a glamping dome or a treehouse. If you’re staying here you need to eat off the menu at Elliott’s dining room. Fantastic food! I would suggest staying here in the off seasons to get a cheaper rate and perhaps a quieter experience. Would be just as beautiful!
