For the price we paid, I’m giving 4 stars overall. Staff is great and the rooms have been updated. Some things that could be improved: plugs in bathroom sinks, some paint was done sloppy and painted over sections that should have been mudded.

Reasons I did not give 5 stars: -walls are paper thin - you can hear chatter in the hallways and even outside in the parking lot, although noise between rooms was fine. When the air conditioner was running this was much less of a problem. -the paint on the walls was rough. -felt slightly over priced for what it was -bathroom did not have a fan -plug in sink was broken -faucet to sink was loose -door to room closed hard. You had to make sure you pushed on it to be sure it was actually latched. -wifi did not work in our room Overall I would stay here again. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great breakfast at the restaurant. Good distance from downtown.
I had a really lovely stay at Park Inn and was very happy with the overall experience. The room was comfortable, clean, and I slept very well. Some of the facilities may be a little older, but everything worked properly and I didn’t have any issues at all. I especially loved the bath products in the room. The body wash, shampoo, and body lotion had a light lemongrass scent that felt fresh, natural, and calming. I liked them so much that I asked if I could purchase some, and to my surprise, the staff kindly gave me three bottles for free. I honestly wasn’t expecting that at all, and I really appreciated the gesture. The staff were also very kind and helpful throughout my stay. At one point I got a little lost in the hotel, and a young staff member who had only been working there for a couple of months was very warm and patiently showed me where to go. I also really appreciated their flexibility with checkout. I woke up quite late in the morning but still really wanted to use the swimming pool. They kindly extended my checkout to 12:00 p.m. at no extra charge, which gave me enough time to enjoy a swim before leaving. I also had a very enjoyable meal at the restaurant downstairs. I really liked the pork dish and the beef bone soup. I understand that the restaurant is operated separately from the hotel, but it was still a very nice part of my stay. Overall, I had a very comfortable and pleasant experience. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, and I felt well taken care of. I live in Cape Breton, so I would definitely consider coming back again, especially since I now have a new favorite lemongrass body lotion! Highly recommended.
From the look of the individuals in and out of the place while my husband was checking in, I’m wagering there’s deals going on that have nothing to do with Expedia. The hallway carpets are thick and smelly. You have to carry luggage up the stairs. The bathroom sink had black hairs in and around it from the last occupant (?) The drain had bits of something (broken plug?) in it so try not to gag brushing your teeth and unseeing that… The tub did not drain so you’re basically having a bath shower. Because there was not enough parking we were advised to park in the back of the hotel. I felt like we were going to be jacked. It may be just off the highway but if you can, spend the extra coin and stay elsewhere.
Not a bad place at all. The decor in the common areas is a bit outdated, but the rooms themselves are renovated, clean, and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked great for me, and the shower has excellent water pressure. Just note that there is no traditional cable TV (only a Smart TV) and breakfast is not included. The only minor downside to the room was the lighting; it could use a bit more brightening up, as the current one or two lamps aren't quite enough. Also, be aware there is no elevator, which might be tough for anyone with mobility issues. However, the front desk staff was incredibly friendly and immediately offered to help us carry our luggage upstairs! If you don't fuss over breakfast and just want an affordable, convenient place to crash right before or after taking the ferry, this place is highly recommended.
