A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. It was just a one night stopover for us on our return to Devon from Scotland; we wished we’d stayed longer. We loved the spa - a pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Just what we needed after a 7 hour drive. The room was huge with lovely views over the grounds. Very comfortable bed and a fabulous powerful shower - the best I’ve encountered in a hotel. We only had a bar meal, which was tasty and well presented. The breakfast was superb. Very interesting choices on the buffet and menu, and all very tasty. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and happy. Thank you to Richard for his initial call on our day of arrival through to his lovely welcome, to Harrison for showing us to our room and to Joe who served us at dinner. Also our waitress at breakfast; I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. We hope to return one day.

Just returned from an overnight for my birthday. What an outstanding hotel, with excellent customer service in every department. Bedrooms are beautiful and bed pillows very comfortable. Spa is great & all of the food was fantastic. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks everyone
Really nice hotel, staff very friendly and nothing you asked for was an issue. Rooms spacious and quiet, couldn't hear any noise from the neighbours. Beds comfy. We are in the bar and had a lovely meal. Will be coming back
Set in beautiful surroundings, I stayed for a conference and the staff were brilliant from when we walked in, very informative and polite. The room I had was beautiful, cleaned to a high standard, price for drinks and food for a place like this, I would say is average. We didn’t use the spa but it did look nice. Will definitely be taking the trip up the M1 again to stay here.
I stayed here last weekend and honestly I was surprised how good it was. From the moment I walked in the staff were really friendly not in that fake over the top way, just normal and helpful which I appreciated after a long trip. Checkin was quick and they even let us go to the room a bit early which helped a lot. The room itself was super clean and the bed was one of those you fall into and don’t wanna leave in the morning. I slept better than I do at home lol. Bathroom was spotless too and the shower pressure was actually strong (rare in hotels for some reason). Breakfast was also really nice, loads of choice and everything tasted fresh. Coffee could of been a bit hotter but still decent. Location wise it was perfect for Harrogate and York. Overall I’d definitely stay here again. It just felt easy and comfortable, like nothing was a hassle. If you’re thinking about booking, I’d say go for it.
