A great find. Our first visit to Hebden Bridge for a gig at The Trades Club. Dinner, room and breakfast all excellent. The full English breakfast was the best I’ve had for ages. The car park is small but there is a public car park around the corner which was perfectly fine. Would definitely recommend The White Lion and will stay again.

Went here for Sunday dinner last week. It was lovely. I had the beef and my partner had the nut loaf. Both were great. The beef was particularly gorgeous. Lovely and pink. The pub was lovely as well. We made a reservation so not sure how it is for walk ins. We had been walking first so we had the dogs with us as well and this was no issue. They also had some dog treats at the bar to buy. Had a great time and would definitely go again
We travelled to Hebden Bridge for a gig at the Piece Hall and had the most lovely stay. Everything was perfect: we had convenient parking, the bar was beautiful, and our room was absolutely gorgeous – so quiet, safe and spotlessly clean throughout. We were honestly delighted with every part of it! It’s amazing value for money too, with both free parking and a delicious breakfast included. We were incredibly impressed and will not hesitate to return. I also want to say a special thank you to the wonderful young lady on duty at breakfast: she went above and beyond to look after everyone, had such a lovely, bright energy and never stopped smiling. I was a waitress myself years ago so I know just how demanding that role can be – she was absolutely brilliant and such an asset to you all. Thank you so much, we can’t wait to visit again soon!
We dined here recently. Usually come in for drinks, lovely wine especially the chillian sauv, and usually receive lovely service too. However as our first time for food we were quite disappointed. Our server didn’t offer us any more drinks and we had to go to the bar for these as we were here an hour before food (totally fine we don’t mind waiting if we’ve a drink). Our server at the bar and that brought our starters were lovely and very smiley. We received our food and didn’t even get the opportunity to ask for sauce/S&P etc and weren’t offered fresh cutlery either. Our food was mediocre, not the quality we were expecting, however the portion sizes were pretty good. We ordered a medium rare ribeye which came with no pink whatsoever and watery sauce, and a steak and ale pie, which was quite dry and peppery. We tried to flag our server to reorder a new steak however couldn’t get hold of our server. We never had a check to see if food was okay/ if we wanted any more drinks either which was disappointing. We sat and waited as we weren’t instructed to pay at the bar - when we realised we needed to do this, we didn’t even get a thank you or a smile from our server. After always enjoying coming for a drink, I fear we won’t be coming for food again.
Booking last minute when walking the Pennine Way for one night due to storm Dave, I had a very friendly and helpful welcome from the staff. The Inn is housed in a historical building and is just beautiful. The room was very spacious, hot shower/bath, comfortable bed and definitely gave off the wow factor. I ate both my evening meal and my breakfast at the inn which were both delicious. The homemade crumble was the best I have tasted in years. A special thank you to the staff members who made the whole stay fantastic.
