Amazing location. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the garden rooms, and they are very modern and spotlessly clean. The food at first glance looks expensive, but the quality and the portion size is unbelievable...well worth the money (make sure to book your table before you come, it fills up fast).
Lovely room in a beautiful location, it was lovely and clean and we were given plenty of teas and coffees etc every day. A nice little touch with the toiletry basket with wash cloths, shower caps, soaps, and toiletries. We used it as a base to go out and visit lots of places not too far away such as Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods bay, York. Also lots of beautiful little villages. The food was excellent and the service very good. The portions are very generous too. All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. We will definitely go back again.

We spent 5 nights in pure heaven. I will recommend you to all and will hopefully be back one day, shame we're 250 miles away otherwise I think we would be there constantly. We stayed in a fab room in the pub..cosy with everything you need for an overnight stay. Our meal was absolutely 1st class , along with friendly service. We took our desert back to our room as we were too full to eat it straight away. Quiet setting in a traditional country Inn.
Found in the hamlet of Lewisham in North Yorkshire this is an absolute must for visitors to the area. Whether you are calling in for a drink after walking one of the local trails, for food or for a relaxing overnight stay then look no further. The Horseshoe Inn has a real country pub feel and is warm and welcoming with comfortable seating, a roaring fire if the weather calls for it and as soon as you walk in it feels like a huge hug! The green in front of the pub is fantastic for sitting out and enjoying a drink in peace and quiet. We stayed here as a group of 7, in 4 separate rooms, as my father and mother in law had stayed here many times before and waxed lyrical about it; a bit of a homage to them as we lost them both relatively recently. 6 of us stayed in the garden accommodation and 1 in a room above the pub. All of us slept like absolute logs the whole weekend! Accommodation is clean, warm and comfortable and has wi-fi. One note would be that the wifi is as expected - not superfast but certainly adequate for social media browsing or access to emails, chats etc. But to stay in such a beautiful place and be glued to technology would be a travesty. The menu is not over extensive but the food is excellent - cooked fresh and to order with jolly good portion sizes and is very well priced. There is also a specials board that changes regularly. Produce is sourced locally where possible. For those fancying a drink or two the bar has a great range of draft ales, lager, a great wine selection along with a superb choice of spirits. Service in the Horseshoe cannot be faulted! The team there are incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt really welcomed - we never felt like we were just "another number". In a word they are the epitome of what great hospitality looks like. One tip for visitors - If the lamb shank is on the menu board get it! It sells out fast and is thoroughly delicious - don't say you haven't been warned! So to the ultimate question - would we go back again? 7 immediate and resounding responses of YES!!!
