Lovely local pub with a real welcoming feel. A good range of quality homemade food to choose from and at a very reasonable price. Would recommend and we will be visiting again soon 😊

Had a meal here with the Mrs. The best mixed grill I’ve ever had. And the Mrs can’t wait to go back for the pie. Lovely atmosphere and decor of a lovely old country pub. Lovely staff. And Staropramen on tap, what more can you ask for? Will be back again.
Had a lovely meal at The Black Horse in Blyton on the evening of the partial solar eclipse, which also happened to be my husband's birthday. Before we even went inside, we all stood in the car park watching the eclipse together with other people. We shared our welding glass so everyone could take a look, and there was something really special about experiencing it with complete strangers. It felt quite magical. The restaurant itself had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, with a great sense of humour that made the evening even more enjoyable. There were five of us dining and we all chose different dishes from the menu. Every meal was excellent, and none of us could fault the food. We all treated ourselves to dessert too, and they were just as good as the mains. To top it all off, the staff surprised my husband with an extra dessert complete with a birthday candle, and our waitress even sang Happy Birthday to him. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the evening feel even more special. Fantastic food, lovely staff, and a genuinely wonderful atmosphere. A memorable evening for all the right reasons. We'll definitely be back!
Called in to the pub for a late mid-week lunch whilst staying in Gainsborough, so the place was fairly quiet. After getting a table and ordering food, I went to the bar to check what beers they'd got. I'm not familiar with Batemans but I was treated to a 3-beer tasting session before deciding what to have - what a nice gesture! Food was excellent with good sized portions - I should have taken the picture of my steak pie, chips & peas before eating it all (it pretty much filled the plate) but I was too busy enjoying it. Good value overall with very pleasant and helpful staff (my wife has a couple of food intolerances). We would definitely return...
Ideal stop off pub/accommodation in traditional style pub. Had an issue booking via the online portal so decided to call and ask if they had two rooms for a Wednesday evening. From that moment on you know that you are in safe hands. We were going to arrive late, but no panic, had a phone call asking what time we were expected to land and instructions were given on rooms, parking and breakfast. Rooms are simple and cozy and once you work out the heating quickly warm up to your desired temperature. The breakfast was fantastic, in fact I would go as far to say it’s one of the best we have had for a very long time..! Real bacon, sausage and a chef who knows how to cook a poached egg to perfection. My only negative point is it’s over a 150 miles away from where we live.!! Keep it up and I recommend travels stop and sample the food if just passing.
