It was a beautiful big room, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant served a great selection of food and drinks, we had two evening meals and two breakfasts, all were delicious and good value for money. All staff we spoke to were really friendly and helpful. It was beautifully situated next to the canal. I’d definitely stay at a Marstons again if this is the standard throughout.
Second time here. VERY long wait for the food. When ordering at the bar the lady said if you want to eat together go and get the carvery in 15-20 minutes and your order should be out. My partner fetched his carvery and had eaten it by the time my food came 40 minutes after ordering. Wasn’t impressed with what I received. Cauliflower wings with flatbread. The wings were overdone and greasy, the flatbread strangely soggy underneath the food but hard around the edges and could not cut with the knife. Skin on chips were nice but most of the meal was left. Would not visit here again. Would not recommend. Staff were nice but I wasted £16 on inedible food
Not our first visit Rooms are spacious and comfortable, king size beds . Nice shower. Shower was over the bath not sure if other rooms have accessible showers. Easy check in/out on line. Easy collection of room key. We only had a one night stay as it is a halfway point when we are travelling down south fron the northeast. Would Recommende
My husband and I stayed for one night. The room was very clean and had everything you needed. As for the bed, we didn't find it comfortable, but that could just be us. We had the carvery, and it was really good; the food was hot and tasty. We also booked breakfast, and that was just as good.
Great place for a stop over on our way to the Lake District. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food standard pub fare. Breakfast freshly cooked to order, very tasty and a great start to the day. 20% off food by booking direct. Easy to find not far from the A1.
