Really nice hotel for the area, I went to a conference here and everything was clean and well looked after. Food was really good, if a bit pricey. Highly recommend for business purposes, but I can't speak on the overnight rooms.

I stayed here a month ago for one night. The rooms, and the building itself, are a little dated and slightly neglected in places, but they were still perfectly adequate for the price. My main complaint is the location. The beds were typical hotel beds, nothing particularly special, but very comfortable. When we arrived outside the hotel at around 11:30pm to midnight, there were several homeless people and people who appeared to be using drugs loitering around the structures and surrounding area outside the hotel. I appreciate that we arrived very late at night, but we did feel slightly uneasy and vulnerable walking into the hotel. Myself, wouldn't necessarily consider this a dealbreaker, but I would definitely be vigilant about arriving here after dark. If you are a solo female traveller, or anyone who gets uneasy. I wouldn't stay here. The breakfast was a highlight. There was a huge variety of options, including a full cooked English breakfast, which was lovely. Overall, the hotel itself was reasonable for the price, with comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast, but the surrounding area at night was a significant downside for me.
Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding nearby, and paid extra for the King room with breakfast. What was good, the room, the gym is small but well equipped. Breakfast was good and you could request poached eggs etc... The bad was the road noise... We were on the 7th floor and it was hard to go back to sleep with the noise... Yes the windows were closed! The ugly... As a Leonardo member I expected to get a better price than Booking.com but as the time to the date came closer the price for both direct and through booking was the same. You pay £8 per night for on site parking.
We stayed here for one weekday night in July. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on Reception who chatted to us for a while. In the lobby there was also a large container of iced water flavoured with fresh citrus fruits for us all to try, which was very nice as it was a rather hot day. There are lifts to get upstairs and every guest gets free access to the pool, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. We were given plenty of branded tea, coffee, milk and sugar and even Twinings fruit teas. The bathroom had a bath with overhead shower and complimentary toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. We had booked a twin room but were given a room with a double and single bed which was awesome. The pool and spa were lovely and warm, perfect for relaxing but the changing facilities for disabled people should have lockers in so people dont have to lock the room to keep their possessions in as it makes it difficult for others to use it.
Great value hotel with some luxury touches. There is an onsite spa with a small swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna along with a small gym area. Excellent location - only a five minute walk to Middlesbrough railway station. Excellent buffet breakfast available with extensive food choices. Very friendly staff. Only minor criticism is that the website advises there is aircon in the rooms but there isn’t and it really did get to be a sweat box overnight.
