Went for night with my family as my birthday treat. Lovely hotel. However we came to room full of dust. That dust seems to be there for over week. Spider web all around windows indoors, a lot of dirt on windows frames. Good size of room. We’ve been in family room with annex. Meals in Taste Restaurant , my pasta meal was ok, sauce was runny like milk not cream sauce. Children’s tomato pasta, not the best.

Quite a nice hotel on Scarborough sea front. You need a sea view room to appreciate it fully. A bit dated, but clean, tidy and the bed was wonderful. All the staff could not have been nicer, with excellent service. Not entirely sure the pink bulbs were needed in the bathroom. Well done!
The location was good as we were going to the Spa Theatre which is directly below the hotel. I have stayed at the hotel on numerous occasions however due to the poor condition of the hotels rooms generally that I have stayed in there (whilst usually paying a premium price) I said I would not stay here again. When checking for hotel rooms in Scarborough, the room price on this occasion was quite good so I booked it. We booked on Booking.com and I am convinced when you book on Booking.com you are allocated the most basic of rooms available.... on this occasion we were allocated room 250 which looked onto the car park at the back, in fairness we were not expecting a seaview as we did not book this option. The room had the grubbiest of carpets and the furniture in the room dating back to the 80's and should have been updated many years ago. One of the curtains was also torn...this would not be a room I could recommend. The bathroom was adequate and the shower in the wet room area was nice and powerful although the lino on the floor seemed to have a soft spot under it. I have paid over £200 for rooms in this hotel previously and had I been allocated this room at that point I would have been massively disappointed. On this occasion the room was under £90 and convenient for where I wanted to be
Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience. We came into a dirty room. The bathroom top counter and cups were clearly untouched which makes you question what else hasn’t been done. We did report this and the front desk receptionist came up to clean it and offered drinks at the bar. The photos of the place look nicer than in person. The family room we booked was tight. It was muggy during the time we went. There wasn’t a full size queen or king but instead two twin beds put together. The price for the quality of the rooms just don’t match. Poor value. We found a much better priced place in a cottage rental. We do appreciate we were able to cancel the rest of our stay and get a refund. Do your research and perhaps book a cottage if you’re staying long.
Overall enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived a little early and were given complementary drinks while we waited for the room as we has booked direct. We also were given a free sea view upgrade which was much appreciated. The outside and reception area are quite grand and unfortunately it doesn't carry over into the rooms. The room and bathroom were clean though a bit dated. The rooms are fair given the price, so if you go into it expecting a 3 star you will be pleasantly surprised. On a similar note to other reviews, the room was very very warm despite the fans. Would stay again though definitely not during summer months.
