We had a great experience! Aurelie was a marvelous guide and an expert on the historical information. She answered all of our questions as obscure as they may have been. Worth every penny!

Matt is a SUPERIOR tour guide in every way. The depth and breadth of his knowledge of the battle of Normandy, and the stories he conveys made this experience so incredibly special for our family, and especially our sons. Matt is deeply invested in learning and sharing the stories of people who fought and died here. This tour is worth every penny and you won’t be disappointed. He listened to our sons and what their interests were in this area and made sure they saw those things that were important to them, and gave great suggestions for other points of interest we can see on our own. Thank you, Matt! You made this trip so special for us!
Our tour guide, Alex was very personable and knowledgeable. He made it a very informative tour. We got to see several sites including Omaha Beach, Utah Beach and the American Cemetery and Memorial; a very moving experience. The most memorable part of the experience was the playing of Taps at 4:00, while the flag was lowered and folded in complete silence.
We really enjoyed this experience. Our guide Thierry was very knowledgeable and is a Normandy local and former teacher. It was especially neat to hear him talk about his father and uncle's experiences meeting some of the Americans from D-Day. Our group ended up being very small, with only us and one other couple. We learned quite a bit that we didn't know beforehand, and it was impactful to actually see the places we'd read about.
The tour guide made it all worthwhile. Fluent in English and French he was well versed in history and particularly WW I and II. Answered all questions supporting his answers with photographs and references.
Get experience! Matthew was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. He knows his history well and I liked how he weaved a person interest story into each of our stops. Loved this small group experience of on 12.
My husband and I had the absolute best experience with this tour and had the best tour guide, Vigor!! He has so much knowledge of the WWII history and made this an incredible experience for us! The couples we were with all agreed Vigor was incredible and expresses such passion for this history. The Mercedes van ride was very comfortable ride for the whole day. We stopped at a market to get lunch and had such a nice picnic midday. My husband and I are in our early 30’s and were conflicted that this would be an “old person’s” tour, but we booked it anyways and we were so glad we did. If you come to Normandy you cannot miss this tour! We picked this tour because we are from the US and wanted to see the US history involvement in this tour. There was a good mix of ages and some of us went out for dinner afterwards in Bayeux and it was so nice! I would 100% recommend booking this tour!!
It is a full day tour. Small group. Tour guide maximized our time at the sites. The tour included tickets for all sites that needed them. Most sites were free entry. Igor did a great job explaining the events on D-Day.
I actually didn't make it to my tour. The train system betrayed me something awful. But the tour company went above and beyond to get me to the site on time. But the trains just wouldn't allowed. I appreciated that.
Our guide didn’t really get out of the car and take us to the sites the way the other guides did. More like an Uber than a tour guide. He was nice enough, but he flipped through his notebook either in the car or outside the car depending on whether or not it was raining. “Meet me back at the van in 45 minutes.” The other tour guides carried the same notebook and used it but also explained information at the site – for example, one of the other guides was talking about Lancaster who dropped the bombs and how it’s payload compared with other planes during the war. Another talked about how the Germans tried to plaster the bunkers with sand to make them look camouflaged but it didn’t work. For this kind of money – upwards of $500 for three people – I expected a much more detailed, hands on tour. Pretty blue eyes, very nice man, alas, Stephen is lazy. I wouldn’t mind a credit. I go on a lot of TripAdvisor tours when I travel and this tour, which was so important to my history of nephew, was sorely lacking. Nancy Venditti
Adrien was a knowledgeable host. He made each site come alive. He kept everything low key but very enjoyable and would highly recommend. Pay attention to emails when you book because you may sign up for 8:30 pick up but be moved to the 9:30 group.
We went on the Normandy full day tour with Igor as our guide. He was knowledgeable with great stories about the events that took place during the Normandy invasion. He took us to a great local lunch spot and made the whole day interesting and very enjoyable. Would highly recommend this tour and Igor.
The experience surpassed my expectations. Tour was well organized in terms of time and stops. Our guide Lucas was extremely knowledgeable and easily answered every question about DDay that any of us had. It was a full day ending with watching the flags being lowered and taps being played at the American Cemetery-Avery moving experience. Lucas met us at the railway station in bayeux and brought us back there in plenty of time to get the 6:34 pm train back to Paris. This was easily one in the best tours I've been on. Five stars plus.
Today I had the pleasure of taking this tour with Lucas as our guide. He was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Although he is young he had great respect and honored the sacrifices that the U.S. and allied troops made to liberate France. He gave us enough time to see the sites visited and told many informative stories that brought the tour to life. I have a deeper appreciation for the people of Normandy and will forever remember this trip. Highly recommend taking this tour.
Amazing tour. Julie was super knowledgeable and clearly had a passion for WE2 history. The tour gave us amazing insights into D-Day. Thank you!!!!
Had a great experience with Gold Beach company. We selected their US D-Day tour. They were very responsive over their customer service portal and maintained great communication with us. We were the last tour of the Fall 2023 season and our tour guide was Eliza. She was great! She had a lot of knowledge to share with us. I appreciated all her stories, and her binder with photos pertinent to the tour. She changed the schedule around to get us a better experience. For example, she prioritized us getting to the American Cemetery in order to see the flag ceremony in time. She also called the American Cemetery early in the day to get a special visit arranged for us since my husband had a family member buried there. We didn’t know this was possible and really appreciated her going above and beyond to arrange this experience for us. The staff took us to the plot by golf cart and we noticed that this section was closed to the public. If it wasn’t for Eliza, we wouldn’t have gotten to see the tombstone. She did a great job of keeping us on schedule and delivering on everything the tour promised. Highly recommend booking a tour with Eliza if possible!
Matt was an EXCELLENT guide, very knowledgeable and willing to answer every question related to D Day and the tour. He even took us to an extra location during the tour. If you’re looking to “cover” D-Day in a one day tour, this is the perfect one to do. We took the train in from Paris (first one in the morning), took the tour (ended around 5:15pm), had time to sight see in Bayeux (tapestry and cathedral), had dinner and made it back on the last train back to Paris. Would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends looking to tour Normandy and the D-Day locations.
Our tour guide (Alex) was incredible. Fantastic knowledge of everywhere, gave so many fascinating stories. A truly memorable experience.
Alex was a great guide and told us so much info and shared some great stories. His personality was positive and energetic. Would absolutley use him again I Would reccomend doing a 2 day tour if you really want to get immersed as we felt like there was not enough time to see all we wanted to. We would have loved to see the Utah museum and visitor center with more time and the cemetery walk longer. Taps was amazing and the WN 69 best view in the country, to us.
Powerful experience! Small 7 person group in a mini-van. Plenty of hop out and in opportunities. Extremely knowledgeable guide. Not only major stops and sights, but smaller details and insights as well. Timed to be at American Omaha Cemetery for flag-lowering and Taps. Gold Beach Tours with Alex. Only minor critique--a bit more time to shop, otherwise fantastic!
We had a wonderful tour with Marie. She spoke wonderful English and was very personable and knowledgeable about everything we saw and asked about. We had a 15 and 18 year old with us and they really enjoyed the tour. It was a great tour and Marie was great!
Guide was amazing! Very informative! Company was extremely accommodating! Enjoyed the experience tremendously! Worth the travel from Paris. Could not recommend Dave enough!
Alex was excellent! Very personable and knowledgeable about the history of D-Day. Was excellent at making sure we understood all that he presented and we were comfortable the entire trip. My wife Marianne and I, Jeff were super happy to have Alex as our guide!! Thank You!!
Kate was absolutely wonderful! She was caring and concerned to make sure everyone in the group had what they needed and they everyone was doing fine throughout the tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and is certified to be a tour guide and truly loves the information she presents. We were able to visit so many places from Utah Beach, Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and Sainte-Mere-Eglise. Wonderful tour and Kate was amazing!
My daughter and I were visiting Paris for a few days and we decided to take the train to Bayeaux and do the full day US DDay tour. Alex was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable and absolutely amazing. I didn't know what to expect going into the tour, but in the end, I learned so much and we met some really great people. I can't recommend this tour enough.
Our guide Sofia was informative, personable and able to customize the day per our interests. Sofia is unforgettable!
This trip exceeded our expectations. It was organized, informative, and on time. Marie, our guide really made D Day come alive with her knowledgeable explanations and stories.
The tour itself was very good and the tour guide was very good. But we did have a huge disappointment. We had scheduled an English speaking tour and at the last minute a French family was put in our tour and it became a bilingual tour. Having a bilingual tour means that you have no time to ask questions or interact with your guide because he is busy trying to explain the tour in two languages. This was a big disappointment after paying all that money! I would give this tour a 2 due to that breach of contract regarding the language. This was not the tour guide’s fault, it was the gold beach company‘s fault. Poor decision, gold beach company!
I was very excited to go on this tour as I live in France and have been wanting for years to take this pilgrimage to honor our fallen hero's. I had the privilege of having the most knowledgeable, kind and patient tour guide - Brad ! No question was too basic and he knows his history well! It was a full on day, but it went by very fast as Brad is engaging and provides so many stories and anecdotes along the way - so many interesting details that we did not read in history books ! The entire experience was fascinating - from learning about the war strategy and being in the middle of it all...to walking on those beaches. I only visited the American cemetery and only say I wish I had gone sooner. This tour is an absolute must. Thank you again Brad !
This was one of the best tours I've ever taken and was primarily due to our guide-driver. I don't recall his name but he was phenomenal! I've taken over one hundred tours in the past 30 years and this was fantastic. We didn't spend too long at any one spot and were able to visit quite a few sites from the D-Day invasion. This was a bucket list item for me and this excursion was very fulfilling. The van only took eight tourists so it was small and private. Highly recommended and affordable!
Our guide Kate was really knowledgeable. It was obvious that she really cared about giving her clients a top notch experience. She was so good that in fact when my wife and I return to France, she would be the only tour guide we would want! She had absolutely amazing attention to detail and in depth knowledge of the area. She was very outgoing and friendly and had a very good command of English as well.
Amazing amount of information and personal stories about American soldiers who died on DDay. His “book” was an absolute treasure trove of information about all aspects of the DDay invasion. As a former military pilot and student of military history I felt humbled in his presence. Matt was absolutely outstanding. Anyone taking this tour should request him.
It was the best experience learning about the history of what the D-Day plan was, and then what happened. I never knew 17 countries were involved in the plan! So much information at each stop. Alec was so knowledgeable, easy going and also gave us the time and space we needed to explore.
My family did the tour with Phillipe and it could not have been better. He is so knowledgeable, kind and passionate about history and it shows. It was engaging and my 2 teenage daughters loved it as well. He had pictures and individual stories about soldiers which made the experience so much more personal. We considered going the sites without a tour but we would have missed out on so much. So glad we booked with them. I highly recommend booking with Gold beach Company!!!
Awesome experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and thorough. He had a quick wit and gave us many insights into the battle. It was well worth the money.
We have had an amazing day with Katell. She is both passionate and professional and shares her knowledge and passion with great heart an energy. Katell is a D-Day Normandy born and raised and you simply can't compete with that ;) ! Go go go !
Guide was personable, articulate, and knowledgeable. He managed the tour well. This tour will give you a good idea of the way D-Day unfolded across Normandy. I would do it again! Also the van was clean and in perfect condition.
Great tour, complete, passionate guide who explains everything and answers questions. Plus tour in French. Thanks again!
Great day! Katell took the time to explain the story to us by bringing it back to life. The details provided allowed us to immerse ourselves in each place visited. Thank you for this day which gave us the opportunity to better understand the D-Day.
