Our guide Louis was very knowledgeable and friendly and had clearly prepared in detail for the tour. He was also able to add French perspectives, such as those bombed in places like Caen. Very much worth the very reasonable price and, at two hours, gave my wife a great orientation upon which to build our stay in Normandy.

Louie was exceptional! His knowledge of the area (where he is also from) was thorough. He spoke wonderful English and was VERY flexible during our trip to Normandy. He is also a local small businessman who has a passion for the outdoors and the beautiful countryside. We would HIGHLY recommend booking this excursion. Thank you to Louie!
Fantastic experience, Louis-Vigor was superb. I highly recommend this tour and Guide. The history was unbelievable
Really great tour. Louis was very nice man Knowledgeable and passionate about making it right for us. Thank you
This is an amazing tour. Louis-Vigor was an excellent guide. He knew so much about Normandy. He provided information that made D-Day come alive and personal. He handled it with grace and deep respect. This is a tour you can’t miss!
Our guide, Louis, was a local and very knowledgeable, and patient with our questions. He spoke English well and brought a book of pictures to accompany the tour, including some of what the sites looked like at the time of the invasion. We toured the area around the 1st Infantry Monument on Omaha Beach where there are ruins of fortifications, as well as the beautiful American cemetery. Walked about one mile total with some steep but short trail sections. Recommend.
Louis is so kind, knowledgeable, and generous. He is a great listener and answered all over our questions with incredible detail. You can tell he loves his work and is passionate about these events. The tour gave me new insight and I will be forever in awe of what happened here and the men who gave their lives- not only in the United States, but from those around the world. I have a newfound appreciation for the Norman people- who still live with the effects of war almost 100 years later. Such gratitude for the memories they keep alive for so many who gave their own lives. All of this came alive for me through Louis, his storytelling and knowledge, but also the traditions he holds close to his heart to remember. Absolutely would recommend to anyone going to Normandy! Thank you, Louis!
Wonderful guide with local knowledge painting a great picture of the history of the moment and beyond.
Louis was very knowledgeable and supplemented facts with photo's and stories. His language sills are enviable and he was a pleasure to be with. Answered all of our questions and is passionate about his work.
Amazing tour with an exceptional guide. Highly recommend!
It was an amazing tour! We learned so much. It was a great pace - enough time to ask questions at each stop. Highly recommend - 10/10!
Absolutely stunning, gorgeous, and humbling to tour these hallowed grounds. We went in December and the weather was chilly and damp but it was nice and there were no crowds. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Great walking tour and experience to add to understanding many details of Omaha beach. I would highly recommend as the day would not have been the same without the tour. I would allow for more time before the tour starts to use the restroom and find the exact start locations. Directions from guide were clear but signage at the site is not the best if you are driving yourself.
This was a brilliant tour, our guide was so friendly and informative. He also gave us some great recommendations of other things to do in the area.
Very knowledgeable guide and an excellent experience. The way the history of World War II was explained by the guide made the visit truly meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone interested in understanding this important part of history.
Tour guide holds a master in history and WWII period - a fantastic tour guide and since we were a two man group, very intimate setting allowing time to really explore the depth and details of this historic area. Highly recommended!
This was an excellent tour. Louie the guide was fluent in English and knew his subject inside out and backwards. The amount of information he provided made our trip very worthwhile. He drew out attention to things we never would have noticed without him, or understood the significance thereof. If you can, book this tour. You will not regret it.
A great guide with a LOT of knowledge and passion for the area and for the historia. We enjoyed it very much . Can highly recommend!
Excellent walking tour of Omaha Beach and the American cemetery with an extremely knowledgeable guide.
Our guide was punctual, very attentive, we were able to ask our questions, he took the time to explain things well for the children from the start, very clear, nice, I recommend this 2-hour tour option with a private guide.
Very good guidance for us with little prior knowledge. Knowledgeable guide who encouraged questions and interaction. Personal feeling and local grounding. We are very satisfied
It was a very informative and entertaining exchange with Louis, whose family were eyewitnesses to D-Day. He impressed everyone with a great deal of passion and comprehensive knowledge.
everything perfect very talented guide who made us relive all the moments in detail without being long-winded
Excellent experience due to the excellent preparation of the guide, Louis, who, in addition to demonstrating excellent competence, was also very thorough and clear in his explanations. Very pleasant!
An extraordinary and exceptional cultural moment driven by the passion and professionalism of our guide Louis Vigor Simply thank you for this Norman trip See you soon for a new visit in the Normandy region The Sarthoise Team Philip, Stef, Alex, Virg
It was our first day in Normandy and such a good choice to start this trip. Good intelligible English, pleasant person, focused on us. The guide has told the history based on what we saw on the spot and through photos.
Exciting visit to Omaha beach and the American cemetery with Louis, a passionate guide. We loved discovering these important places of the Second World War 🇫🇷🇺🇸. Through anecdotes and portraits of illustrious soldiers, the 2h10 visit passed very quickly. It looked like it! And with the sun, we were very lucky. I highly recommend 🫶
Guided tour very informative and very well conducted. Unbelievable site. Great guide who maintained the tour although alone that day so thank you. To be advised without moderation.
Great visit! Louis-Vigor is a passionate and exciting guide! We loved the visit!! Must do if you are visiting the area!
Rare experience offered in French. Louis is an excellent guide with clear explanations. We would have missed so many interesting things without this private tour. Thank you, Louis!
This Frenchman has a lot of knowledge, also through experiences in his own family during wartime. Very interesting. The two hours were up in no time.
Louis-Vigor gave us a very strong experience, rich in details, human stories and peculiarities. The DDay on Omaha and the alignments of the American cemetery took with it another dimension in our minds. Always ready to answer our many questions. for all this and much more, we really recommend this guide.
It’s all incredibly impressive what we’ve seen and thanks to the guide you know things you would never find out otherwise.
Perfect two-hour tour, some fun facts and stories about the invasion. Nice to get the stories of history.
A very informative tour of the Omaha Beach site and the Colleville American Cemetery. The 2-hour guided tour allows you to better appreciate the decisive character of the D-Day, but also the sacrifice of the Allies to liberate Europe, than a simple stroll between the graves of fallen soldiers. An essential step in the discovery of this important event in the history of Normandy. The guide masters his subject and adapts perfectly to his audience.
