If you think you know everything about D-Day, you do not. I learned so much in our day with Noe. Not just the history, but personal experiences that made the events of those days seem more real. Noe was very engaging, even for my 18 yo who is not particularly interested in history. Noe was incredibly flexible and accommodating. We had two invalid folks who had difficulty walking and Noe adjusted the pace but ensured we saw everything. I would definitely ask for him again. The vehicle was comfortable for our private tour of six family members. Lunch options were great. The tour timeline was efficient and well-planned.

Noe was extremely knowledgeable and personable! We didn’t know what arrangements our tour company arranged and did not tip Noe commensurate with how impressed we were with our tour. Noe was amazing and I would highly recommend him!
Great experience. Amazing history lesson. Grateful to experience the feeling of a real contemporary 1940s jeep. Puts a real perspective on past events. Great guides. Not only for the historical enthusiast but for everyone who likes to be outdoors and still be able to contemplate or lament about times gone. Thank you for bringing the past to the present.
An incredible day with Raphaëlle on Normandy Discovery Tours. Highly recommend. Our guide knew every detail possible about D-Day. She also carried maps and photos. It’s hard to put the tour into words. Early in the morning, Raphaëlle picked us up at our accommodations… immediately she began telling the story of the German occupation, the French resistance and the allies liberation, At every stop we understood the many facets of the story of the day, including the years leading up to D-Day, the planning, and the aftermath. Raphaëlle was flexible and asked us if there were specifics that we wanted to see… she made sure our entire day was filled with understanding. Also, her van was the cleanest car I’ve ever been in my life! 1000 percent recommend this company for a day of touring the Normandy WW2 sites. Merci Raphaëlle!
Noe was a wonderful and informative guide. He took us to all of the places that we expected to see as then added more information with each stop. He was respectful of our time to return to the ship without having us miss the flag ceremony at the American cemetery. He is a wealth of information and entertained us with his stories. Highly recommend him and the tour.
Five stars are not enough and we would give far more if it was possible. Our tour was a private tour tailored to questions about my husband’s uncle who was killed in 7/44. Our guide, Raphaelle, was very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information. She was a pleasure to work with. Included in our tour was an hour drive to Utah beach and surrounding areas in WWII jeeps. Prior to the jeep tour, we met with Thomas who provided documents and photos related to my husband’s uncle that we had been unable to obtain on our own. He gave my husband far more detail than we ever expected and it is deeply appreciated. Thomas and the other drivers were all so informative and engaging, adding to the overall experience. The emotional highlight was a visit to the cemetery and participating in a small ceremony to honor the uncle; Raphaelle walked us through the process and was a great help. (The staff of the cemetery were wonderful and deeply committed.) After spending a very full day with us (a party of 7), Raphaelle contacted my daughter a couple of hours later. Based on further information about my husband’s father’s unit, Raphaelle - on her own time - had cross referenced troop movements and was able to narrow down a time frame for a very special phone call between my husband’s father and uncle before the uncle was killed. We highly recommend Normandy Discovery Tours.
My family of five went on a World War II D-Day landing and Band of Brothers combination family tour with Normandy Discovery Tours, and it was an incredible experience. Thomas, our guide, was friendly, highly knowledgeable, and very engaging throughout the entire tour. He did an excellent job bringing the history to life and tailoring the experience to our family’s interests. His depth of knowledge and ability to connect the stories made these historic sites even more meaningful. I highly recommend booking with Normandy Discovery Tours if you’re looking for an informative, personalized, and engaging way to explore World War II history in Normandy.
Perfect Tour! Our guide Noé, whas extremely knowledgeable, had greath energy and enthusiasm. We got so much out of it. Can highly recommend!
We (2 American couples) had a half day tour by van with Raphaëlle as our guide and it was excellent. She took us to places we would not have discovered on our own. We had 2 WWII buffs with us and Raphaëlle shared information that they did not know. Her overall set-up of the war and explanations were full of wonderful details and she had informed answers for our many questions. She left us with a deep sense of the importance and terrible costs of freeing Normandy in WW2.
What a special day and Thomas made it that much more special. Seeing the beautiful villages of Normandy and all the history of D Day and WWII was very moving. Tommy knows the area very well, he is from there and is very involved in the local community with all the history and events. He is a very nice person and easy to talk with. Great day.
We cannot say enough positive things about our private Normandy tour with Raphaëlle of Normandy Discovery Tours. From the very outset, her warmth and professionalism set the tone for a truly exceptional day. She carefully crafted an immersive and personal experience—from Sainte-Mère-Église to Utah and Omaha Beaches—that exceeded all expectations. Why this tour stands out: • Expert, heartfelt storytelling. Raphaëlle skillfully blended historical insight with vivid, human narratives. Her passion for the subject came through in every stop, making the events of June 6, 1944 feel immediate and deeply moving. • Tailored pacing and attention. As a private tour, we appreciated that she adjusted the pace for our group, allowing ample time at key sites without ever feeling rushed. • Immersive Jeep experience. Riding in an authentic WWII-era Jeep added incredible atmosphere—every engine turn felt like stepping back into 1944. • Beautiful local touches. During our day, Raphaëlle paused in Sainte-Mère-Église for a cozy lunch and even treated us to an ice cream stop in Isigny—small moments that made the day feel personal and delightful. • Seamless hotel pickup and drop-off. Raphaëlle picked us up directly at our hotel in Bayeux and returned us there at the end of the day. It made the entire experience convenient and stress-free, allowing us to focus completely on the journey. If you’re seeking a deeply moving, expertly narrated journey through the history and landscape of D‑Day, this private tour with Raphaëlle is an absolute must. It’s clear she cares profoundly about preserving memory and sharing it meaningfully. We returned home not only well-informed but moved in ways we didn’t anticipate.
This was an incredible experience and learning opportunity for my son, nephew and myself. Raphaëlle and Thomas were our knowledgeable and passionate guides. We opted for the day long tour including a portion being a jeep tour. We were there the week of the D-Day anniversary which only added to the amazing fact that so many lives were lost and changed in that region. The professional and thoughtful guides were phenomenal. Thank you Raphaëlle and Thomas!!! Take this tour, you will be glad you did.
We did a personal tour for our family with Noa on June 5, 2025. We were driven in a very nice large van and visited sites from D Day beaches and American cemetery. Our guide explained everything to us clearly and was very nice. We now have a greater appreciation for the sacrifice of the men that gave their life for our freedom.
We had Noe as our guide and we could not have been more pleased. Not only was he knowledgeable but extremely entertaining. We had such a great time.
What a wonderful experience we had with Marie! Not only she was very knowledgeable about everything WWII and the Normandy operations presenting the astonishing amount of information in the interactive and responsive way. She also introduced us to everything Normandy stands for, the culture, the food, the locals. The afternoon spent with her was one of the highlights of our trip and her dinner recommendations were top notch. Thank you!
We had a magnificent day. Rafaela was a wonderful guide and so very knowledgeable. We learned a lot of things about Normandy that we didn’t know. It was a very touching and humbling day. We had a wonderful lunch together and saw things we did not expect. There is so much to see, so glad we had a private tour.
We worked with Gabrielle and she was outstanding. Very knowledgable about the beaches, landings and military issues but also about the effect on the Normandy population. She was warm ,friendly and adapted to our needs. Her English is outstanding. A pure delight. We ran into her the next day at St Marie d'eglise which is also worth a trip.
Had a great time on tour with just my 15 yr old son and I. History and stories are great and the jeep tour was really fun. Raphaëlle and Flavie are both very knowledgeable and share their passion of the subject matter. They made our tour very relaxed and personal like touring with friends sharing stories. A must stop is for ice cream in Isigny-sur-Mer, thanks Raphaëlle!
The tour was well organized and I’m sure our tour would’ve been great with or without Raphaelle. But, she was absolutely amazing and we count ourselves as super fortunate to have gotten her. She engaged with our kids and us adults perfectly. Ten out of ten recommend the tour, and if you can request Raphaelle you should.
We could not have asked for a better guide. Raphaelle was incredibly personable, kind, and knowledgeable. She picked us up at our lodgings and made the day incredibly easy. There is no way we could have covered the same ground on our own, and we certainly would have been far less informed. Raphaelle took care to tailor the information carefully to her audience. She was excellent when she was "on-script" as well as when she was responding to our many questions. We even quizzed her about some of our curiosities with French culture, and she graciously indulged us. This is the way to see the D-Day beaches. We highly recommend.
It was a fantastic visit. Raphaelle explained everything to us with a great deal of charm, knowledge, and passion. The quality of the tour is fantastic and it allowed us to understand the events perfectly. She shares very curious and interesting facts and does it in a very entertaining way. On the other hand, the tour with Thomas in a Jeep is a great experience and also very interesting. He shares very curious facts, with a lot of passion, kindness, and knowledge. A tour that I would recommend 100% :)
An unforgettable experience with my partner who came from the USA to visit Normandy. I particularly recommend the guide Noé who speaks perfect English! A wonderful guide who is attentive to questions and brings the landing to life hour by hour! To do again!!
We spent a fantastic day with the family by van with Thomas from Normandy Discovery Tour. We visited Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American cemetery and the parachute area. Thomas is passionate and has described in great detail the big and small story by adapting to our group with children 5 and 10 years old. I recommend 200% and I will call on his services if we return to the area.
We had an absolutely exceptional experience during our visit to the D-Day landing beaches in Van and little Jeep ride (with Flavie and Thomas) from Utah Beach to Omaha Beach via Pointe du Hoc, Holy Mother Church the American cemetery. This moment will remain etched in our memories. A huge thank you to our guides, Noah and Alexander, who are true history lovers. Their enthusiasm is communicative and their explanations were impressively rich. They were able to immerse us in the events in great detail, anecdotes and emotion, making the visit both informative and deeply touching. Thanks to them, these places full of history have come to life in a unique way. We strongly recommend this visit to anyone wishing to better understand this important period,
Our son will remember this Jeep ride all his life on his 10th birthday. he is passionate about WW2. It is a very fun way to approach and understand the Normandy landings. Our guide Thomas enthusiastically conveys his passion for this period of history. The icing on the cake: it strengthened our desire to acquire a Jeep:)!
We had visited the Normandy landing beaches quite a few times, but the experience with this company was an excellent addition to the knowledge we already had. We booked 1 day including 7 hours with a "van" and 1 hour with an authentic "Willy Jeep" We had with Raphaëlle an exceptionally good Guide. She was very well aware of all relevant info, both of the preparations for D-Day, D-Day itself and the events after June 6. R. is very friendly, enthusiastic and passionate, she has given us an unforgettable day. When asked to visit the German Cemetery in La Cambe she responded very enthusiastically and planned that, what a service!!!! The trip by Jeep was guided by Flavie and Thomas, they were also very friendly and attentive. In short, the three guides who accompanied us all day were of an exceptional level. In addition to the general information about D-Day, they also manage to bring out the life of the individual through gripping stories that are covered in few historical works. We can therefore highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in this phase of WWII. Thank you very much Linda, Tinne, Luc and Danny
Very interesting visit to the landing beaches, many anecdotes. Everything was perfect! Many thanks to Raphaëlle and Thomas who are passionate and in love with their region.
We had an incredible time in the van with Thomas on the landing beaches. Having a lot of knowledge about this period, despite this Thomas still taught me new knowledge. I highly recommend, thank you
We recently took part in a van tour organized by Thomas and the experience was exceptional. From the start, Thomas was very professional and warm.
A visit beyond our expectations, this passionate and fascinating young guide from Sainte Mère Église impressed us with his very in-depth knowledge of the history of the 2nd War and kept us in suspense with anecdotes from his region. He also knew how to adapt his story to address and interest our young children. I highly recommend this company “Normandy Discovery Tours”
Great experience! Thomas immersed us in the history of D-Day! A true enthusiast, he shares this universe with us through his sympathy, his dynamism and his explanations on which he is unbeatable! There were 4 generations of us on the Van tour and we had a blast while learning lots of new things! Thank you for this enriching day. I highly recommend!
