Itinerary
Our starting point next to the tourism office.
Stand on the sands where history was made and gain a profound understanding of the pivotal events that unfolded at Omaha Beach. On June 6, 1944, this iconic stretch of coastline became the battleground for one of the most consequential military operations in history: the D-Day invasion. As part of Operation Overlord, American troops stormed ashore under a hail of enemy fire, facing daunting obstacles and heavy casualties. Yet, their unwavering resolve and extraordinary bravery paved the way for the liberation of Europe. Today, Omaha Beach stands as a hallowed ground, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by thousands of Allied soldiers who fought and died here. With its pristine sands and serene waters juxtaposed against the haunting remnants of war, Omaha Beach offers visitors a solemn opportunity to reflect on the price of freedom and the enduring legacy of those who gave their all for it.
Perched atop the cliffs of Colleville-sur-Mer overlooking Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery stands as a solemn tribute to the courage and sacrifice of over 9,000 Allied soldiers who gave their lives during the Normandy Campaign of World War II. Established in 1944, this meticulously maintained cemetery provides a poignant reminder of the price of freedom. Its rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David offer a sobering sight, while the Memorial, inscribed with the names of over 1,500 missing soldiers, serves as a timeless symbol of honor and remembrance. Visiting this sacred ground is not only an opportunity to pay respects to the fallen but also to reflect on the profound impact of their bravery and commitment to liberty.
Cider tasting is optional. Indulge in a sensory journey at Ferme de la Sapiniere where centuries of cider-making tradition await. Nestled in the heart of Normandy, this historic cidrerie offers more than just delightful beverages; it's a portal to the past. Founded in the 16th century, this cidrerie has stood witness to the region's rich history, including the tales of Château de la Percée, a nearby castle that once hosted noble gatherings. Today, as you sample their exquisite ciders crafted from locally grown apples, you're tasting the essence of Normandy's heritage. Savor each sip amidst the rustic charm of the cidrerie, where the art of cider-making has been perfected over generations. It's not just a tasting; it's an immersion into the soul of Normandy.
As we pass through Bayeux on our return journey, catch a glimpse of its medieval charm, highlighted by the striking Bayeux Cathedral. Dating back to the 11th century, this Gothic masterpiece is a testament to the town's rich history. Enjoy a fleeting view of Bayeux's quaint streets lined with timber-framed houses, offering a snapshot of its timeless beauty as our adventure come to its end.

I ride motorcycles and am not much of a passenger but the sidecar was so much fun. We both thoroughly enjoyed our ride.
My family (my wife and daughter) and I took the half day tour in June of 2026. Manuel and Theiry met us at the Hotel de la Gare, which is right next to the Bayeux train station. They were, in fact, the only tour that would pick us up there. We were furnished with helmets and gloves, and both men went over safety information before we headed out. I am over six feet tall, so I had to ride in one of the side cars, which was surprisingly comfortable. Both of our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the D-Day landings. I am a history teacher, so I can tell you that they both know their material. They were eager to answer any and all questions we had, and we never felt as if we were being rushed. Both men have a deep respect for all who participated in the D-Day landings. They clearly want you to understand what happened. Both men also have a great sense of humor. We started at the British artificial harbor and memorial. Manuel was kind enough to share the process by which the British built an artificial harbor where the Allies landed their supplies. Traveling by motorcycle does has its advantages, as they can get closer to places than a bus. They took us a German mortar position which gave us an excellent view of Omaha Beach. No one was there due to its remote location. It gave us to a greater appreciation for the sacrifices that were made during D-Day. They took us down to Omaha Beach next, and they not only gave us the history and pointed out all of the German positions, but also gave us time to wonder the Beach. We did run into rain, and we were provided with storm gear. Both men asked us in advance if we had relatives that died during D-Day. If you do, they will alert the American Cemetery so that the Cemetery can prep the grave and escort you right to it. The Tour ended in Bayeux, which is worth checking out if you have the time.
Speed through Normandy experiencing the sights and smells of the rural north of France. Quaint churches, chateaus, bucolic farms, poppies, wheat and happy cows move by while Theirry drives you on his side car motor bike. He is delightful and knowledgeable and the stops at Omaha Beach and the US military cemetery are beautiful and moving. Highly recommend for anyone with an adventurous spirit.
The 2-hour private sidecar tour around the Normandy WWII sites from Bayeux was a real highlight of our trip. Manuel and Thierry were brilliant guides—friendly, funny, and passionate about the history of the area. Manuel was especially knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the events of D-Day and the Normandy campaign, bringing the history to life in a way that was both engaging and memorable. The sidecar itself was great fun and offered a unique way to explore the countryside and important historical locations. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Normandy and wanting a more personal and unforgettable experience.
The best time - was the highlight to end our trip. Made my 10yr olds dream come true of riding in a side car - they were able to accommodate an earlier time so we could make our trip back to the airport and even created stops we had not been to in our other tour. Highly recommend - the views, the guide, the joy of seeing Normandy in this way is a must.
Our family of four all say this was the best tour of our time in France. Manuel and Teri shared the vivid stories of Omaha Beach and US cemetery. All in all a highly impactful and experience with a beautiful drive on the side cars.
Be ready for an inclusive tour not just WWII info….there is so much more to see & know….keep your eyes & senses open
Be ready for an outdoor adventure. We rode all over the countryside but stopped for Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.
We had an awesome tour with Thierry. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the venues we visited including the stops at Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. Also, the experience riding through the beautiful French countryside on a motorcycle and sidecar was unforgettable. Even with a few raindrops, we had a terrific time and would highly recommend this tour!
It just quote simply was everything I had hoped for. My guide was knowledgeable. The scenery was spectacular and the memorials were very moving
Manuel was an excellent guide. He reached out before our trip to secure meet-up details which was much appreciated. He was an amazing wealth of knowledge. We had an amazing time on this one-of-a-kind tour.
Our guide was fun and amazing! Traveling in this manner - motorcycle sidecar - was cool and unique. It was a perfect was to see the countryside, villages and historic sites.
Manuel picked us up right on time right where we had suggested! He was also responsive on the app. We had an absolute riot on that motorcycle/sidecar! The weather was amazing and Manuel was super knowledgeable with the sites we visited. I had my 12 year old daughter and she kept looking at me and just smiling! Would definitely recommend! I loved being able to smell the countryside on the way to the war sites.
We had a great time. It was fun to ride with Thierry on the motorcycle to the different sites. He provided a lot of historic background and answered all our questions. I would definitely book it again.
My family and I had an absolutely fantastic time on this tour with Manuel and Thierry! They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable—true pros who made the experience both fun and fascinating. Out of all the tours we did during our 10-day adventure in France, this one was hands down our favorite. We can’t recommend it—or this wonderful company—highly enough!
The is one of the best things we did all week. It was absolutely magical. The guys are so kind and were so great with my kids. Both kids have been talking about it nonstop and thought it was so cool. My husband and I feel that it was worth every euro! Would definitely even do it again if we ever returned.
What a wonderful, fun thing to do and worth every cent. Dont be worried about the safety side of things as its completely safe. My wife had never been on a motorbike let alone ever put on a helmet and she had a ball. Thierry was alot of fun and a nice person who took us alone side streets that you would never know. Lots of winding country lanes and roads so you never get up any real speed so you feel completly safe. We went on a chilly November Day and never felt cold at all. Overall i would fully recommend this adventure to everyone. Alex and Cath from Australia
Had an exceptional day, highlight of my trip to Normandy When he arrived we talked about what I had already done and then he taylored the ride to give me totally new experiences Stayed on country roads in bocage Saw a fishing village Do yourself a favor and book with this company
Highly recommend - one of the most enjoyable experiences on a tour anywhere. Seeing the countryside and beaches was a blast! Thierry is accommodating, skilled and very friendly. Wife and I agree it was a highlight of our tour of Normandy.
Phenomenal! Where do I begin. From the beginning our experience with MANUEL was amazing. After initial booking, our plans were still not complete so we didn’t exactly know where we were staying. Manuel contacted us and was very flexible on where to pick up. When we met up with him he immediately started spitting facts about not just d day, but the city, country, and events. Not only was he really knowledgeable on many topics, especially about the landings, he was a great conversationalist and it didnt seem like he was just reading off a book. The riding experience was so much fun and seeing the country side was an experience we didn’t think we’d get, but appreciate dearly. During the tour itself, Manuel continued to share his knowledge about the surrounding area, the landings, and all the different things that it affected in the following years. After the tour, he was even flexible in where to drop us off. 100% satisfied with our tour and would recommend to anyone!
Great way to see the most important WW II Europe sites and culture. Thierry and Manual will make your family feel safe with a touch of adventure and realism.
Manuel was exceptional. His personality was calm, fun, kind, he was an excellent driver, knew all about Normandy and D Day. The motorcycle took us through the country so we experienced small towns, farms, castles, neighborhoods. Really fun experience and a great way to learn a lot about the war and culture. We want to return and go on another trip with him! 10/10!
Manuel was an excellent guide and driver: experienced, friendly, knowledgable, and a great sense of humor. Driving in the sidecar was exhilarating and novel. The Normandy tour of the beach and the cemetery was informative and done in a very respectful manner. Manuel’s time management was also excellent. Thank you for a most memorable experience.
We found it a fantastic experience. Nice ride through small roads to Omaha Beach. Our driver/guide Manuel is a good storyteller and excellently informed. Also a very pleasant person to experience this tour with. Frans and Karin Remmerswaa
It was a great immersion in historical events and an opportunity to see legendary sites! Very informative and interesting. Travelling on historic motorcycle models allows you to further immerse yourself in history and enjoy the picturesque local landscapes. Two and a half hours went by unnoticed. The tour was particularly enjoyable for my teenage children. Thank you!
Had a truly unique experience together with Manuel! Have really enjoyed this tour! Nice way to discover these places!
We were picked up by Manuel from the provider "Normandy Time Riders" on time at the meeting point in Bayeux. After a half-hour drive, we reached a stretch of D-Day beach where Manuel taught us many details about what happened in 1944 in easy-to-understand English. A lively and pleasant conversation developed. The visit to the American Soldiers Cemetery was also very impressive. But the best part was the way to get around. With a sidecar as new, it went safely and well equipped over the picturesque roads of Normandy. Even a short rain shower could not spoil our fun thanks to the rainwear provided by the provider! We would book the tour again anytime!
New experience on a sidecar with Thierry a very friendly character who made us discover a part of Normandy differently , exceptional guide , for a visit to the landing beaches and the Normandy countryside . Carole and Pierre
We had a wonderful day with Thierry and Manuel! We took their program for four hours, they met us this morning at the train station of the town of Bayeux and we immediately went on a trip. They love their region, they talk wonderfully about interesting events of the Second World War (they will tell about other events in history, in case you are interested), they make great jokes and they drive their motorcycles with cradles! Many of the attractions in the region are far apart, and without a vehicle it is not easy to explore everything. Motorbikes, after the tour, seemed to us the most fun and impressive way to get around and explore the area.
