Itinerary
Your private tour guide will take your private group up for a full day of World War II history, with an emphasis on the American soldiers who fought to protect the Allies and their people. You will visit important sites such as the ones that follow.
Your day continues with a visit to Pointe du Hoc, one of the most dramatic sites of the Normandy landings. Perched on a 100-foot cliff overlooking the English Channel, this position was heroically scaled by U.S. Army Rangers under heavy enemy fire. As you walk among the bomb craters and remnants of German bunkers, your guide will bring to life the extraordinary courage and determination that defined this mission.
Leaving Pointe du Hoc, you'll continue your drive to Omaha Beach, the site of one of the most pivotal events of World War II. Here, you will stand on the sands where 2,400 American soldiers lost their lives on D-Day in the fight to secure a beachhead stretching nearly 5 miles, from Port-en-Bessin to the Vire River, ultimately linking up with the British landings at Gold Beach and the American forces at Utah Beach. Your guide will share the powerful history of Omaha Beach before leaving you free time to reflect and pay tribute to those who fought against the German 352nd Infantry Division.
Your journey then takes you to the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, the resting place of nearly 9,400 U.S. soldiers. Stroll among the perfectly aligned white crosses, visit the Memorial, the Wall of the Missing, and the chapel. This solemn and peaceful site is an enduring reminder of the cost of freedom.
Leaving the American Cemetery, you'll sit back and relax as you drive to Arromanches, where you will see the remains of the artificial harbor (Mulberry Bridge), a key engineering achievement that played a decisive role in the success of the D-Day landings.

Julien provided us with a great day in Normandy. Everything was seemless from pickup to dropoff. We were able to get a lot in in one day from Paris. We started a Point Du Hoc went to Omaha Beach had a wonderful lunch and then on to Bayeaux. We are so grateful to have had his knowledge and backround to give us an amazing day.
Excellent! Highly recommend this tour, especially if you are from the USA. You can stay at your hotel in Paris, and travel to D-Day Battlefield site in one day and back in Paris by dinner time. Rayan, our chauffeur and tour guide was so engaging and informative! He was attentive to make sure we saw all of the memorials, cemetery, and visitors center, and then stopped for lunch. We were very pleased with our tour. It gets 5++++ stars!
Drive is long but the experience is very worth the time commitment. The car was very nice and the driver very knowledgeable.
The tour was very informative, humbling and historic. It was something that we did from our Paris hotel. It took the entire day and it was well worth it. Our guide was great!
This was a great trip and Ryan was very informative, adjusted to change request and was supper polite. The money was well spend and this was a must see place for us while in Paris.
We booked the Normandy Battlefields D-Day Private Trip with VIP Services, and it exceeded every expectation. Our guide and driver for the day, Hervé, made the experience truly unforgettable. His knowledge of history — the lead-up to D-Day, the events of June 6th itself, and everything that followed — was remarkable, delivered with the kind of depth and nuance you simply don't get from a group tour script. He brought the beaches, the cemeteries, and the landing sites to life in a way that was both deeply moving and genuinely educational. Beyond the history, Hervé was a fantastic host — personable, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about what he does. He was also an excellent driver, making the full day on the road smooth and comfortable. If you're looking for a private Normandy tour with a guide who treats it as more than a job, ask for Hervé. Highly recommend Parismatic
Our guide was very informative and quite personable but we are giving only 4 stars because we skipped a few stops listed on the itinerary. We did not visit Point du Hoc or Utah Beach. Our tour lasted 10 hours and not the 12-13 advertised.
We saw the most important sites of the Normandy Battlefield. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us invaluable insights. Highly recommend!
Rayan is a great guide and will answer your questions and direct you along your day. Wonderful experience traveling to Normandy for Omaha Beach, Bunkers and Museum. The cemetery is such a beautiful place to pay your respects to our beloved lost veterans of D - Day.
We were picked up promptly at 7:00am by our guide, Lucille. She welcomed us warmly and told us how long the trip would be( 3 hours). Our first stop was Pointe du Hoc and a visit to a German bunker. Then on to Omaha beach and a quick lunch. The afternoon was spent at the American Cemetery. This place is absolutely pristine! A very moving experience for us. ( my father-in-law served in WWII in the Pacific) . Lucille was extremely knowledgeable and encouraged conversation. We learned so much! Thank you!
This was a very long day but very much worth it. Tour guide Ryan was very knowledgeable of the D-day events and communicated very well. He took us to the restaurant right places and made for an exceptional experience.
We had an exceptional day with Lucile - upon pick up at our hotel to returning that evening the day was beautiful. Lucile’s tour of Normandy will stay with us forever- touched by going in a bunker to walking on the beach; breathing the air that so many died fighting is forever in our hearts. Merci beaucoup
The tour is well worth it. Definitely go. It is a full day but incredible. The history is very good and should be seen.
We HIGHLY recommend this tour and Rayan, our driver and guide. He was full of relevant and meaningful information. In the few cases where he did not know the answer to a question he researched it and provided the answer. The itinerary was excellent, the pace was just right, and Rayan was fantastic!
Fabrice was a wonderful guide and travel companion. Very knowledgeable and great personality. We got to see all the sites (and sights) we wanted to. It was a very memorable day.
We had the private tour, pick up and drop off from our hotel perfect. Loucille was our tour guide and she was magnificent, the perfect host very knowledgeable and great driving. Thank you for a brilliant day Lee, Kelly, harry
Even if you’re not a fan of history the Normandy tour is a must. The sacrifices made there turned the tide of human history. It was a very moving and emotional day. Our tour guide, Fabrice, was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The 3 hour drive from Paris was made better by hearing his stories. Highly recommend.
Very awe inspiring and humbling. Highly professional guide. Excellent information and driving and lunch selection.
Ryan was amazing. We had a great time and he was so knowledgeable about Normandy. We had the best time and we would go on another tour with Ryan anytime.
Phenomenal tour! Rayan was so personable and knowledgeable and allowed us to personalize our trip. Well done!
The trip was educational and interesting. Our guide started in Paris with explanations of what was around us. He had an amazing amount of knowledge on Paris and WW2 history. Beautiful trip.
Fabrice made this an amazing experience. He was very knowledgeable about the details and specifics of what took place in Normandy. He discussed the strategies that were used and talked about the American soldiers as people and gave insight into their ages, experience level, and the weather conditions that they had to experience. I wasn't sure what to expect, but he was so interesting and made me want to know and learn more. He was very passionate about the subject and made this a trip to remember. There were several cruise ship excursions that day and he made sure that we avoided the crowds by being aware of their progress and changing the sequence of the areas that we toured. We also ate at a wonderful farm to table restaurant that he chose. He went above and beyond by giving us suggestions of where to eat in Paris and some history of the city. This trip was well worth the cost because of our amazing guide!
Julien was a great guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, paced the trip perfectly. The sites were busy but not too crowded, lunch was amazing & we had the experience we were hoping for. Saw a lot, learned a lot - very glad we went.
We had an excellent trip. Our guide had an excellent plan in place to see the important sites and he explained them very well. He also recommended a local restaurant for lunch that was delicious and affordable. He customized the trip to our interests. It is a long day, but absolutely worth it.
Great trip. Carlos our tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend.
This trip was incredible. The van was comfortable and clean. The service was efficient. The countryside and beaches of Normandy were beautiful. The physical experience of visiting a place we had read about in history books was very meaningful. Best of all, our guide, Rayan, was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about the history of D-Day and answered all of our questions. He also gave suggestions for a delicious lunch. We highly recommend using this service and look forward to seeing Rayan again one day.
This was a great experience. Very moving and our driver, Ryan, was knowledgeable and friendly. He told us things that we didn’t know. He showed us many things that we wouldn’t have even known to look for. We could not have asked for a better guide!
Our driver was Lucille - we cannot say enough good things about our experience in Normandy-we met her promptly at 7 am in Paris. Her knowledge of World War history was amazing - we learned so much from her . and not to mention her perfect driving skills in such a congested city.. The day was absolutely perfect… Hoping to meet with her again on a future tour ! Thank you
Our guide, Ryan, was outstanding! Very knowledgeable and engaging. Very curious about our country and experiences. The sacrifices made at Normandy for freedom by many countries was very humbling. Try to hire Ryan!
I truly incredible experience. I don't think anyone can really understand how terrible war is until you stand at the top of the cemetery and look at the graves of almost ten thousand men who gave everything so I did not have to grow up speaking German. Our guide was really wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. He made the entire trip great.
Worth every dollar. Great personalized service and a tour that operates on your schedule. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attune to our wishes. He adjusted the order of events to best avoid crowds and busy times to give us the best experience
A fantastic experience from start to finish. Fabrice is a great guy, knowledgeable and very friendly. We even saw Bayeaux on the way back. Great to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
Carlos did an outstanding job of getting us to the beaches and cemeteries. We also really enjoyed the history of the region from William the Conqueror to after WW II. Bayern was very interesting and a great little side trip. We highly recommend Carlos!
Tour was great with Lucille, we communicated on the trip very easily ahead of time, van was great, she showed up early, she is an awesome driver and knows everything about Normandy and D day. Couldn’t of been better.
Out tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history not only of the area in the war but also the people and history of the people and decisions during the war. It was very informative and the tour guide was very good at moving at our speed, since we spent extra time in some areas and less in others. Would 100% recommend this tour.
We are so glad we had a private guide, Herve, who was an encyclopedia of knowledge. It’s a long day but extremely interesting and informative. If possible, get to the beaches at low tide so that you can see the wide beach that the soldiers and equipment had to cross. At high tide there is no sand visible
We had the best day at Normandy! We have always wanted to come here and are so glad that we did! Fabrice was an incredible guide! He shared so many historical facts and details. He was so wonderful and easy to talk to. I’d recommend this tour to anyone. Especially with Fabrice as your guide!
This was AMAZING!! We had our own personal tour guide driver. He picked us uo from our hotel (3.5 hours away) and took us to Normandy. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and kind. He gave us some great tips, recommended an amazing restaurant and was patient when we needed an additional bathroom break! We could not be happier with this booking and would absolutely recommend it to everyone. Of our group of 7, only one (a teenager) was a history buff, the rest of us were a mix of 'interested' to 'I'm just here because my parents made me' ( also a teenager). He did a great job of engaging us all, knowing who to share more specific details with, and who to just chit chat with. This was wonderful and worth every single penny.
Very informative and interesting. Our guide Lucile was fantastic and entertaining. Made our trip extra special.
Wonderful tour guide Lucile who was very knowledgeable about WW2 history! She made it come alive with all the stories she told of all the countries/people involved! We saw the American Cemetery, Point de Hoc, Omaha Beach, had a wonderful lunch of galettes from Creperie de Formigny and toured the amazing History museum Overlord Museum! What a day learning so much!!
Comfortable van ride to the Normandy D-Day sites and cemetery. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable about not only the sites we visited but additional French and European history relevant to the region. Our guide even pointed out sites in Paris while headed out of and back into the city; also providing some recommendations and site-seeing tips. We learned so much about the D-Day sites; it was exactly what we wanted. Our guide also selected a wonderful lunch in a small seaside town near the battlefields.
Full day tour, starting with a 7am pickup at our door. Herve, our driver & guide was absolutely wonderful. So brilliant on the Normany history and all the related facts. He made the day so enjoyable! Would absolutely recommend him. He brought us to a wonderful local restaurant in one of the fishing villages for lunch. Dropped back off at our address by 7pm.
What a great day with an amazingly knowledgeable guide There is a lot to see so hard to cover in a day but it gives you the feeling of making another trip to take in more of the area
This was a beautiful experience. A trip for all patriotic people and historians. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a long day and we went mid-November. So it was cold and rained most of the time. So keep that in mind.
Absolutely amazing, personal experience. Our tour guide Fabrice was phenomenal and took us to all of the best locations in Normandy. His inside knowledge allowed us to see the sites unimpeded by bus and river cruise tourists. It made the powerful day that much more moving. I would recommend to anyone wanting to tour Normandy.
Normandy is a special place to see . Worth the time and effort . The tour guide was wonderful . Seeing on tv doesnt do it justice .
Great way to see a little bit of alot of different sites. Since this is about 3 hours from paris, it was great to have the private car and driver too. Very knowledgeable and its very profound seeing the beauty of the area vs what went on there.
It is a long day trip for sure, but just enjoy the ride in the French countryside. We saw all the important parts of more than these, battlefields, cemetery, etc. Well worth the trip.
A lot to discover and digest. Ryan had the day planned perfectly and was sensitive to the interests of the group. The day was one to remember
