Omaha Beach, beach in the American sector where troops of the 1st and 29th American Infantry Division landed on June 6, 1944. It will subsequently be nicknamed "Bloody Omaha", the guide who will accompany you will detail the events experienced by these soldiers so that you can feel the emotion that this beach can release.
An emblematic place on the landing beaches, this cemetery overlooks Omaha beach and is extremely rich in symbolism. Overwhelmed by emotion, you will discover every detail of this place of memory accompanied by your guide.
German fortification on the British sector of Gold is one of the symbols of the famous Atlantic Wall. You will understand how a German battery works and see the original cannons.
Normandy is one of the regions with the highest tides in the world. During the Battle of Normandy, supplies would have been compromised if British engineering had not imagined this technical feat of assembling floating ports called Mulberry. It is only by seeing it that you will understand the immense importance it may have had in the outcome of the story of the landing.

You will learn a tremendous amount about the D Day invasions from a personable , enthusiastic local expert. (and her English is excellent)
Great tour with lots of new information, well explained by our guide Laura. Small group which meant we could move at a pace that suited all. Good spread of locations with 2 of the landing beach locations, cemetry, battery and the artificial port. A great combination to get the overall view of the WW2 events in this region.
The guide was very informative. Interesting to learn about the history of Normandy. Nice small group of six people.
Fun, informative day. Igor was great and really had a passion for sharing his knowledge of Normandy and D-Day!
Our guide was fantastic. Even though it was a half day tour we covered so much ground and I never felt rushed anywhere. The built in bathroom breaks were also a plus. This was a highlight of the trip and one of the main reasons was the guide. He told us he had been doing these tours for 16 years and it showed! He was so knowledgeable on D day invasion and each of the sites we visited. Highly recommend!
From getting there it was a nightmare. Joined the que 10 minutes before ticket slot and told to come back 5 minutes before time slot. Rejoined 5 minutes before and told to come back in a few minutes. Once joined the que at our slotted time it took us over 2 hours of standing in a que moving very slowly. We entered the bridge and were stood for over an hour, and eventually got to the point where you could view a bit of the tapestry from above. Once we got down to the tapestry we could move slowly along, but the staff kept saying keep moving and trying to get us to jump in front of people where there were gaps. After waiting for over 2 hours you should be allowed to look at the tapestry to take in the scenes. There were no seats and to rest along the way, and by the time you got to see the tapestry with staff keep on at you to keep moving it took away the experience we were looking forward to. One of the problems was people taking photos and not moving along, but staff did not stop this. It was organised chaos from start to finish
wear comfy shoes and layers as weather is changeable at the different locations. take a drink and small snack with you as it is a busy itinerary. you will stand where the landings happened and really get a sense of the scale of the defensive position and how challenging that was to overcome. the cemetery is surprisingly beautiful and so well cared for. if you have ever watched a film about DDay you will recognise place names and if you haven’t then you should before or after the trip. having a guide who has thoroughly researched the events and personal stories made the experience. we were in a group of 8 made up of 4 couples- from Scotland, Ireland, Sweden and USA so a very mixed group and we all found it superb.
We attended the half day American and British Tour from Bayeux. Our guide gave us a lot of great history and local information, him being from the area. There were seven people on the tour. It was well worth it, and we are glad we booked this tour. A can't miss if you are here.
Amazing tour and emotional experience. Igor made it the best tour I have ever taken. Private tour with us. He is a local Frenchmen who grew up in Normandy. He had so much knowledge and answered every question. Took us on special back roads and showed us D Day things nobody would ever see. It was one of the greatest emotional experiences of our lives. Ask for Igor. You won’t regret it. He and his family before him lived it all. He made sure we heard Taps during the lowering of the American flag at the American Cemetery. I’ll never forget it. He knew it all.
Emilie is sooooo knowledgeable and personable. We learnt so much in 4 hours in a charming and entertaining way. I highly recommend this experience.
Our guide was great, he knew everything we asked and was extremely knowledgeable, can’t say enough, Adrian is a jewel! He really showed that he wanted to meet our needs, from children to seniors.
Amazing tour. We had absolutely the VERY best guide you could ask for. Igor was a local guide who knew everything about the Normandy invasion. He was simply the BEST! Very moving experience. We got to witness the lowering of the American flag and hear Tap being played.
Our tour guide was Elise and she was fantastic...very professional and very knowledgeable on her subject...you will learn much about the heroics and sacrifices made during the Battle Of Normandy. I can highy recommend this tour and I hope you are fortunate enough to have Elise as your guide. Merci Beaucoup Elise.
The tour included all the advertised stops—the Mulberry floating ports, the German bunkers at Allemande de Longues-Sur-Mere, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. Lucas was our guide, and he gave an excellent tour. I was impressed that he remembered the names of everyone in the group, five in total, which gave a nice, personal touch to the afternoon. The five-hour tour was just right: it filled up the afternoon, preserving flexibility in my own schedule without taking up the entire day. Lucas drove us around and gave us plenty of facts and information, often supplementing his ideas with pictures from a copious notebook. I am an American history professor, and I teach a course on military history, yet I still learned plenty of new information from Lucas. I highly recommend this tour to anyone!
Very knowledgeable guide, gave us time to explore on our own which was great. Nice small group tour
Very knowledgeable guide, had a fantastic day, driver was awesome to
Great guide! Cool to see history come alive. No museums but actually where history occurred - explored all different points!
Great guide. Very knowledgeable and informative Our guide was very friendly and pleasant Very careful driver
While this experience was very expensive, the guide, Adrian, went out of his way to make the trip very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable and excellent at answering our questions which he encouraged. The 5 hours it took for the trip was the maximum length for absorbing all the information and history.
The D-Day tour was powerful and educational. Adrienne was an excellent guide. As a native of Bayeux he possessed knowledge not only of the places that all tourists visited but also hidden gems where we were the only visitors present. He shared details of the invasion strategies and stories of individual soldiers who displayed courage in the face of insurmountable odds. Highly recommended!
Very interesting trip, just enough time to get good knowledge and depth to the D-day landings, especially because or guide, Kate, was a bottomless well of knowledge.
Lucas was a great tour guide and gave us lots of information about the war and the sites we were seeing. We highly recommend this tour!
The weather was a little tricky in the beginning but even with rain this was amazing! Axelle was full of information, nice and funny
Gives a great insight into the monumental effort required to launch an invasion being mindful of minimising casualties.
We had a great day, Laureen was very knowledgeable. It would have been nice to stop a see a little more, so you would need to do the day trip and not the half day tour
Great short excursion into 2 of the d'day sectors, was great to learn some of the important areas of d'day. Unfortunately I don't remember our local guide but she was amaizing, bubbly and made the tour
Very informative, relatively short tour giving insight into key portions of the D-Day landings. Not for someone wanting a deep dive into the event, but excellent for a half-day overview with a well-informed guide showing you critical aspects of the event. Our tour guide Axelle was fantastic: passionate, interesting, and informative!
Definitely worthwhile. First off - the service. We had challenges with trains and luggage getting to Bayeaux and they saved the day last minute by taking our luggage in the tour van. Then after they made a special trip to drop off us with luggage at our hotel which was amazing. It really saved our day. In terms of the tour I really appreciated seeing and hearing about some of the less considered parts of d day like the logistics. We all know the famous beach stories - and it’s amazing to see Omaha - but I feel like I got a lot more appreciation of the whole operation. Plus our guide really focused on the human factor - the loss of life and huge impacts - on both the soldiers and the French. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone. I will advise that coming to Bayeaux in the morning without any place to leave your luggage will make the day harder. There are luggage storage places but they take lunch beaks from 12-2. So make sure you have a plan for luggage or come the day before so you can have a stress free day.
Our guide was Matt and he was very informative and had a personal connection to D-Day through his grandfather. He has done much research and was full of factual info and include lots of pictures in a folder. We had a small group of 8 in a very comfortable van. Highly recommend this tour company
Mathieu was very informational and friendly. We were given about 20 minutes to walk around and explore at each stop, 30 minutes at the American Soldier Cemetery. It gets cool and windy by the sea, jackets are suggested in the spring.
Matthew was a great tour guide! His knowledge of and respect for the events of D-Day made the tour wonderful. I do wish we would have had a little more time at a couple of the sights but that is to be exii of expected when you do a half day tour. My only recommendation is to do a whole day tour if you can. This tour was excellent for our situation!
Our tour guide, Adrian was extremely knowledgeable of the WWII timeline and history. He also was a local and knew about the area. We would definitely recommend him as a tour guide!
Very informative and managed to visit a lot of sites in a short period of time, thank you.
Excellent tour with a good guide. The guide took his time, explained to us the various aspects of what we were seeing with both a historical background and specific insights to how D-Day unfolded.
Our guide Adrian was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to answer all our questions. He also gave us recommendations on food and other experiences in the area.
Loved our tour with Julie! She was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. She made hard concepts easy to understand. It was great to have a local’s knowledge with global perspective. She did great navigating around detours. We saw things we would not have seen otherwise. It was an easy (but long) day trip from Paris. It was great with 4 kids 10-12.
Eric was a fantastic tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. He did a great job of explaining the significance of each site .
Outstanding tour with very thorough knowledge and detailed information. Our guides were exceptional and very accommodating along with giving us great historical insight.
It is very educational definitely a life changing experience with gratitude for what the day meant. Tour guide was awesome!
despite the clouds and rain, we had an excellent and informative tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable and clearly had a real passion for the history of the region. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.
We were a family of 5 wanting to see both the Commonwealth and American side of the Normandy landings and this was great. What we particularly appreciated was having a local guide with ties to the area and who was passionate about explaining the history and the local view to us. Well worth the afternoon.
Great tour with Igor! He was knowlegable, kept us on time and gave us time to explore and reflect on the sacrifices made by these young men on behalf of our freedoms.
This was an outstanding tour with an excellent and well-informed guide (thank you Marian). We learned much and experienced much, and came away with a sense of awe and appreciation for what our young soldiers accomplished on June 6 and beyond. The visit to the cemetery was very moving. For those considering a shorter tour, we'd highly recommend this one - there was a lot of information packed into the trip.
We rented a car in Paris and drove to Bayeaux, where our tour group met. It was about a three hour drive, but the highway is modern, mostly flat and straight. In Bayeaux, our guide, Philippe, drove our small group to Sword Beach (British sector) and to Omaha Beach (American sector). Philippe spoke good English, but his French accent gave his presentation an air of authenticity. Philippe was very knowledgeable about the events leading up to and on June 6, 1944. But he went beyond that, and as we visited the American cemetery atop the cliffs, he shared many stories that reflected the human side of the German, American and French elements that came together during those days. As a retired History teacher, I had high expectations for this tour, and those expectations were well met. Highly recommend!
Our guide, Amandine, was passionate and very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited. She supplemented the information by sharing a book of photos and historical pictures that she had taken the time to prepare. Great job, Amandine!
Eric is extremely knowledgeable concerning the logistical events of WWll and very well versed in many languages
We had a truly fabulous trip to Normandy to see the D-Day landing sites. Our guide, Matthew, was outstanding—his knowledge, storytelling, and ability to bring history to life made the day incredibly meaningful. It was deeply moving to stand on those beaches and reflect on the sacrifices made, especially knowing that my father-in-law was in the second wave on Gold Beach. An unforgettable and humbling experience that I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history or a desire to pay their respects.
It was a very informative tour and we learned alot about the D Day landings. Our guide Lauren was excellent
Very informative and heartfelt tour. Vincent really knows his stuff and is very sincere in sharing the facts and the feelings. He made us see the humanity behind it all. I got a new appreciation for how so many nations came together to preserve our future. It was a very moving experience.
